Got a rock chip and it extended out 8-9in on December 24th. Maybe due to holidays that nobody responded to my calls on December 26th except Bob from Wind-tech. I reached out right away and asked if he could remove or knew of a way to remove the stuff. No response. Bob is a fantastic tech who will make sure he gets the job done and does it right. It's so hard to find people like him. When Bob replaced my 2022 Honda Civic windshield, there was a new vibration/sound in the vehicle cabin. Bob came once to try to diagnose the issue. When a root cause couldn't be found, he offered to order a second windshield (as a backup) and would reseat my replaced windshield to see if retracing steps would get rid of the issue. If he had broken my replaced windshield during that process, he offered to use the second replacement and install it free of charge. If that doesn't show how committed Bob is to his customers, I don't know what else does. Surely, his retracing fixed the issue! My vehicle has a complex camera suite that often times needs recalibration after a windshield is replaced. When I took the vehicle to a dealer for this process, they reported back stating that the vehicle is in no need for calibration. It's a brilliant testament to Bob's skills. The OEM windshield was installed right to spec. Even then, when the dealer reported that a cable was disconnected and was going to try to charge me an unfair amount to 'diagnose' and fix it, Bob was ready to swing by again and find the fix for me. While Bob doesn't work with insurance companies for direct billing anymore, his bill and services were rapidly accepted by GEICO, and I received a complete reimbursement less deductible in a couple of days once I submitted the bill. 5* experience. I sent several requests for quotes and Wind-Tech's was both the one that came back the fastest and the one that was the least pushy while not letting my request fall on the wayside. Bob explained exactly what the options were (and their prices), didn't pressure us to choose the high-priced option, and said that he'd get us in whenever he could within the next few weeks (it was a small job and in the midsts of the summer shipping crisis)--it turned out he was able to come in the next few days. I always get nervous about being called back in case they forget (as happened with another quote), but within days he was able to come by and handle a crack repair within less than an hour. When he saw that our lights alos needed to be cleared, he added that (which was additional), but only after explaning the price and verifying we actually wanted it. I reached out to Bob via Yelp, and he responded promptly. We were able to set-up a time after some back and forth. He single-handedly runs the business so the more prompt you are in responding to his messages or calls, the sooner he can accommodate you in his schedule. On the day of, Bob came down to my office building garage to fix the windshield. Even though his schedule changed a bit he kept me up to date. Bob charged about $97 with taxes to fix the rock chip on my windshield. The lowest quote I received during my search was $66 with taxes, but that company/person stopped responding, so I went with Bob who was professional both in scheduling and fixing the glass. Went to my car this morning to go to work and discovered one of my rear vent glass windows was smashed. I'm guessing someone got a little too carrried away on St. Patrick's Day. I initially gave a good review, but a week after we got our new windshield and the first rain happened, we had a leak and a decent puddle of water on the driver side floor. Bob was very responsive and came same day to try and find / repair the leak. He spent quite a bit of time and likely added more sealant. After he left there were some black smear marks by the windshield and on the car seat, which ended up staining the seat. Not the worst thing in the world but I expect someone to not stain the fabric, even if the job is messy. Another week and the next rain later, we still had a leak. This time my partner, who already felt like the first and second job was done sloppily, said to call someone else and get our money back from Wind Tech. We took the car to Safelite. They looked at it and said who ever did it before did a "hack job." Apparently there was some rusting at the top of the car where the windshield touches, and that needed to be sanded and repaired, otherwise water gets in. Safelite spent their time doing this and we haven't had a leak since. read more
