This is our go-to stop whenever we travel between our home in Mesa, AZ and California anywhere from Indio to the coast of Los Angeles, like Ventura. It's a huge store so it benefits you to stop driving and take a walk around to pick up some snacks and drinks. This store even has a pizza shop inside of it, if you make it inside in time. Slices - or a whole pie, breadsticks, fountain drinks, etc. One of our favorite selections are the individual packages that contain a sandwich, cookies, mints, and a bag of chips. Terrific way to get a meal and keep driving. No sit-down meal in a booth or time spent in the drive-thru line. Get in, get your grub, and get back on the road. Quick. Efficient. This location has great bathrooms to use before getting back onto the freeway. The store only accepts debit cards or cash, so they won't get you into debt. It's great to know that they are open 24/7 for supermarket. Huge parking lot, many empty spaces available. They have great selection of fresh fruits, self-serve items (nuts, grains, candy, etc). We don't live in the Coachella Valley but when we go, we try to go to one of two Winco's , this one, or the one on the way in Pomona. The selection of veggies and fruits is unbeatable, as well as the selection of *most* things. The prices, oh the prices, if only we can get these prices in LA. I can't recall anything being more expensive than a Ralph's, Vons or Smart & Final. The only section that could be better as far as selection is alcohol. Don't expect super high-end stuff. But it's a *decent* selection nonetheless. Service - be patient; you're saving money because they save money by not hiring as many people as they should. Also you must bag your groceries. This presents a bit of a challenge for folks like me who are disabled (I can stand but am a fall hazard). Ambiance - um it's a generic grocery store. While there are closer stores I could shop at, I religiously travel the distance to shop at the Indio location. Great prices, clean store, AMAZING wide aisles where we could have drag races with our carts if we wanted. LOVE the deli, sushi & pizza! But...what I love THE MOST? The employees. From the Dope AF guy in the deli that knows our order, the amazing employees who always give their time to help with questions and those amazing cashiers. In today's society where we're getting more & more disconnected from one another I think the biggest thing this company & store gives is that nostalgic, hometown, community vibe and that's not an easy achievement for such a large store - but they do! Nice clean grocery store with fresh food in Indio. Haven't shopped at Winco for a while because not many locations are near us. Glad we stumbled upon this store during our vacation literally 5 mins away from our resort. It was so organized and well maintained. Perfect crowd not too busy so made shopping easy. I have never been in a WinCo before and it seems similar to a smart-and-final. It was very large but like smart-and-final it had limited options of brands. The staff weren't the nicest but it was late when we went so they were probably tired. The place seems a little sketchy at night but we were able to get everything we needed. read more

Went there yesterday to pick up a few items and Mario told me I should try their Fried Chicken it just came out of the fryer and potatoes wedges as well. This is my favorite grocery store, I wish they had delivery because I would definitely order from them all the time. The prices are fantastic when I see employee I have to double check the price because it's unbelievably low on some of the fancy cheeses that I love. The bread that is made fresh daily is fantastic too another favorite and their cinnamon rolls with the cheesecake frosting... Those I highly recommend but be careful they're addicting. I'd rather grass fed beef, organic bison, meat, and the two fillets wrapped in bacon... Unbelievably delicious. After shopping for an hour for my weekly groceries, I get their pizza at the end that's another incredible deal plus delicious.. everyone that works for a super nice and helpful. it's definitely a plus to have an our community because you get quality and a deal on shopping there. I go to winco in Indio . They used to have beautiful veggies now that they don't have to date them they are very bad quality, I am so disappointed. WinCo's Sneaky Price Hike & Product Shrinkage - A Clear Scam! This is how they cheat us on the products we buy! Look at the pictures. On 03/12/2025, I bought the same cookies I always get, but this time, they were in different packaging and priced at $5.98. The new pack contains only 24 cookies (20 oz). Now, compare that to what I bought just a few days ago on 03/07/2025--the same cookies, but in the old packaging, priced at $5.67. That pack had 36 cookies (27 oz)! So, in just a few days, they cut 12 cookies and 7 oz of product while raising the price. We're paying more and getting way less! Why not just be honest and say, "We raised prices because of greed and profit"? Instead, they try to deceive customers with smaller packaging and hope we don't notice. This is a scam, plain and simple. They may fool some people, but not all of us! (Just my personal opinion, but the facts speak for themselves!) read more

I hate fake customer service. I have been a customer since Wino opened up in Indio. There is an employee that has been there for at least 3 years. Over this period of time he's spoken to me at best 10 times. Each time I see him I speak just to see if he would speak back and most of the time he does. It for three years I'm the one speaking. Today I went to the store he was at self checkout as usual. As I was walking to checkout I saw the store manager coming I saw her before he did and when he saw her he jumped up and spoke to be. I knew it was only because his boss was coming. Now he didn't just speak he thanked me for shopping there seeing that Wino is an employee owned company. Then I was amazed to see ,inside the store --the same extra low prices I had encountered in Oregon! Every item from the Deli counter has been above average ! I especially loved the pea salad & eggrolls and wings and tamales ! All were excellent. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER The cashier was very rude and it seemed like he hated his job. I had to greet him instead of him greeting me. He question why I didn't put my other groceries from the bottle cart on the counter like if I was going to steal them or something. The counter was full nothing more fit on there. I was waiting for him to start ringing everything up so I can put the rest of my groceries on. I paid and he didn't say thank you or anything. I honestly had never had that experience ever at WINCO. I spent almost 200 dollars and felt I should of just went to Walmart and got better customer service. I just love winco! I've been to multiple locations and they are just Always on par with one another. 8.12.21 I visit Indio occasionally , always in August and we went shopping there last night ~ walked in the doors at midnight . Plenty of other shoppers there, well lit and clean . The array of foods and other non grocery store things is fantastic .
