We got the prepared Deas meal and the prepared chicken. Once cooked, the meat was very flavorful and everyone loved it. The sauces rice and beans are refrigerated in the front by the cashier. I got the last of the beans. I got the taqueria salsa which was perfect and a little spicy and the guacamole was perfect. The rice was really good. Head down Monroe past Airport Blvd. (If travelling South), look for it on your left. Only serve up hot foods till 4 during week, not sure on weekends. It was off the beaten path in Coachella and the neighborhood was questionable in my opinion. HOWEVER! Although Los Primos shares a building with a Liquor Store the place was amazing. It was organized, sanitized, and specialized. They are specialized in quality authentic Mexican food. Their breakfast burrito was unlike anything I've ever had. First of all it was fresh. I watched the young lady chop the jalapeños, the onions, the cilantro, and the cheese, as well as slice and grade the potatoes, as well as the cheese. Not to mention, crack and whisk the eggs. They are highly prized, with a constant demand, and they can run out by the end of the day. The fresh tortillas there go perfect with the carnitas! Unfortunately, what I received today was incredibly disappointing. $17 with tax for a sandwich that appeared to have roughly four ounces of meat is simply unacceptable. Just look at the picture the amount of meat speaks for itself. I understand that food costs, labor, and operating expenses have increased over the years. I would much rather see a business raise its price and maintain the quality and portions that built its reputation than charge premium prices while dramatically reducing what the customer receives. Longtime customers remember what Alkobar used to serve, and that is what makes this particularly disappointing. Businesses build loyalty through quality, consistency, and value. When those things disappear, unfortunately, so does the loyalty. After this experience, I will not be returning. I sincerely hope management takes customer feedback seriously and remembers what made Alkobar successful in the first place.
