The meats looked a little on the dry side. I asked him why the bones were so expensive. He said well now that people are making bone broth it's a way to sell them. I've been looking for a local place that sells well taken care of animals for me to eat. I know that sounds wrong, but I want healthy meat. I saw a post on Facebook about them, so I had to find them myself. Upon entrance, we were joyfully greeted by a man and woman (turned out to be the owners) named Joe and Mayra. What a great couple! This store is very clean, I was looking for stuff and it is really clean... many stars for that! The customer service here is great. They showed us soooo many different options we didn't know were options here. They sell bison, venison, camel, pork, beef, lamb, chicken, turkey, tripe, duck sausage, and rocky mountain oysters. I am sure there is more that I didn't get to see. I bought pork chops, New York steak, tripe, marrow bones, and a whole lamb head. I enjoyed our conversation, thank you. Tucked away in a little strip mall on the corner of Florida and Meridian, Mr. Joe's is truly an east Hemet gem! We've been shopping here since the week they opened and we'll keep going back! Found out about Joe's Butchery a year ago and have been back many times since then. The quality of thier meats are the best my family and I have ever tasted. My favorite is the Ribeye but always stock up on the bacon which the pigs raised are fed vegetables and they even have beef bacon that is delicious. Great quality meats are finally here in Hemet! I've been looking for a butcher who can bring in something outside of the normal beef, chicken, and pork and this place does just that. I stopped by and picked up a whole rabbit and while I was looking around I found so many other types of meats. They have everything from whole duck, chicken skin, deer meat (grounded and whole legs), and even rocky mountain oysters! The shop is super clean and quaint, gave me flashbacks of a Midwest market. They sell seasonings and a few sides for the dinner plate. The butcher and I'm guessing owner is super helpful and friendly. I've shopped here numerous times. Yesterday I stopped by to pick up salt pork. I asked for assistance in finding some . The owners wife dug out a piece of old freezer burned salt pork.i swear it's the same one that's been there for the last three months and the last three times I've asked for it..She said they don't order it until the last one is gone and said "you can buy this one than we can order more." It was my first time there and bought the New York Strip for Valentines Day, Wagyu for a different day, and beef for stew. When I got home, I started cutting the stew meat to use for stew at another time. I noticed that it was easy to cut, even with my smaller knife. Then, after cooking the NY Strip, my husband took a bite and I attempted to use the steak knife and my husband said, "you don't need the knife." My fork cut through it. OMGOSH!!! This was the best steak that I ever tasted in my 54 years of life!!! Even better then those expensive restaurants! I highly, highly, highly recommend Joe's Butchery. He doesn't even know I'm writing this because I cooked the meat hours later. I'm so glad that I work in Hemet so I can bring the highest quality meat, that I ever tasted, home to enjoy!
