This is a small neighborhood market in this part of town. Stater bros and Winco are several miles away. El Toro is right down the street, so I try to take my business there. Cans of beans, tortillas, eggs, and anything in a box, bottle or a can are unbelievably, close to twice the price of Winco. Even Stators can sell taco sauce cheaper. El Toro however has weekly ads for vegetables and butcher items. So sometimes I shopped there for a few vegs and maybe some chicken, and made a trip to Winco for everything else. My issue with El Toro is that their meat smells dead as you cook it. I figured it was a bad batch the first time, but the chicken this second time is just as bad. Beef must have a longer shelf-life, but I find that even smells pretty funky. The vegetables if you intend to cook that same night, maybe OK, but they aint much better. I was so disappointed with this store after the third time of BAD food, that I wanted to contact their main office directly and try to make a difference. i googled El Toro by name, and they are a mess. Family squabbles over who owns what part of the business. Making there Grandparents proud. Do your own family a favor, shop a legit grocery store. read more
