I found this spot on Yelp so I decided to try it for our barbecue. For some reason the directions lead me wrong but I'm glad that I googled the spot and found it. It's easy to miss since there's only one quick entrance on the corner. In the meat market is in the rear of the store. They have plenty of meats to choose from. Very reasonably priced. We got the prepared Deas meal and the prepared chicken. Once cooked, the meat was very flavorful and everyone loved it. The sauces rice and beans are refrigerated in the front by the cashier. I got the last of the beans. I got the taqueria salsa which was perfect and a little spicy and the guacamole was perfect. The rice was really good. This will be my go to meat market when I'm in the area. read more

Great spot for your meat market needs in CV. Went in last weekend and got the carne asada and pollo asada meats. Both were well priced and seasoned to perfection. Also really enjoyed the salsa' at the front of the store. The Chile verde salsa was a huge hit. The people at the counter were very good and provided quick service. I have been going to this market often, for the convince of time and quality meat. So, I thought. The last two times I have gone there I bought ground beef and some groceries. Both of those times I noticed the ground beef is not like real beef. It melts in your mouth like saw dust and it has no smell or flavor when you cook it. I asked the butcher if he could grind some of the steak for me, I dint mind that I have to pay more, but he talked me out of it. I made dinner and now I'm not comfortable eating it. I won't be going back for meat anymore. read more

This is a great little meat Mexican meat market with a wide assortment of grocery items plus lots of cold beer. The meat/butcher shop is at the reach, I would recommend the arrechera meat and asked them to prepare it for you. Butcher will prepare it and make it ready for the grill, this meat packs the most flavor and tenderness. This style of meat is on the pricier side but definitely worth the extra splurge. The pollo asado, prepared chicken is also great on the grill. They have the usual variety of tortillas and other items also for sale. At the front by the checkout stand check put the small coolers is stocked with containers of rice, beans, guacamole, and various types of salsa. read more

Went here for the BBQ essentials: Carne Asada and Gucamole. Both were very good and will look to go back to try their salsa. I was advised by folks that have grew up in the valley that this is the best place for Carne Asada and not to worry going anywhere else. Prices were really good. This is where we go to get our meat and chicken for our tacos. We recommend people to go and buy there when they want to do a carne asada .

The meat they serve here is riddled with fat. If you get a pound of carne expect at least 50 percent of that to be fat. I ordered a pound of seasoned chicken as well. I was disgusted by the amount of fat and tendons that completely took over the one piece of chicken breast I spent $6 on. I threw the meat out immediately. What a waste! Take pride In your product. I've been here a number of times to purchase the Saturday evening BBQ fare when visiting the desert condo. They have a great selection of meats from their butcher case- marinated and not. In addition they have a great selection of fresh salsa, guacamole, ceviche and cocktails de cameron. Valley Meat Market is on the small side with every square inch devoted to some sort of display, counter, produce section, dry good or tortilla. The workers are friendly and they take credit cards. This review is only for their homemade guacamole and pico de gallo. Both are winners. The guac, in particular, is excellent... and very reasonably priced. Cashier (guy with mustache) wasn't particularly friendly. UPDATE: Went there the other day for salsa and guac. Came home disappointed to find that what LOOKED like guac, was salsa verde made with avocado. But what a GREAT mistake. Good God this stuff is addictive! My husband and I are on a weekend getaway and wanted to take advantage of the beautiful outdoor kitchen at our Airbnb. We Yelped local groceries & this place was nearby with great reviews. We're so glad we found it. The staff was nice and patient as we tried to choose our meats. We walked out with carne asada, fajita chicken, ground beef for 4 burgers, buns, DELISH flour tortillas & these snacks you see here for $42. Amazing. I feel bad messing up their 5 star but I guess I am picky with my Mexican food. The people are very nice. I am a little white girl so walking in a place where I don't speak the same language is a little nerve-racking but I always wanted to try this place. So it was nice feeling totally comfortable with the staff and ordering. I ordered carne asada, chips, guacamole, salsa, tortillas and rice for a Friday night festa dinner! I usually come here to their meat department. The staff are very helpful and polite. This is my favorite carniceria in the Valley yo buy Fajitas Arrancheras (I use it for carne asada). The price is a bit high, but the taste and quality of the meat I haven't found nowhere else. read more

A great little meat shop with lots of Mexican groceries (tortillas, salsa, hot sauces, el pato, limes, peppers, tomatoes, cerveza etc.) I go there every time I do have an urge to whip up some tacos at home. Also if you are looking for Manteca (aka lard) they have it year round. When I went to Sprouts, Ralph's etc they said they only carry it seasonally. You have to use lard if you are going to fry tortillas or make frijoles refritos. I like to go to Shields for breakfast and hit this place on the way back. Prices are good as well. read more
