I have NEVER been to a Trader Joe's that I didn't like. I mean, is there really anything not to like?? I mean I guess if you really disliked Aloha shirts. Or If you just really can't stand a good charcuterie board.... Then I completely understand, NOT!! Yeah... Trader Joe's is known for its Tiki-Hawaiian style vibe (hence the Aloha shirts worn by employees), unless they are in their more relaxed T.J. T-shirts, which still reps the Hawaiian vibe lifestyle. And why did I mention Charcuterie boards you ask?? The Cheese and meat selection is hands down the BEST!!! Trust me when I say... Your Charcuterie Board is going to be EPIC!! Cheeses from all over the world (and with an amazing price tag). And the meats... Yeah, your meat-loving party guests are going to appreciate you! But it's more than just the cheeses and the meats. It's the reasonable Produce, the Fresh Poultry, the Quality Beef and of course all of the amazing, fun, and unique private labeled goods that you will not find anywhere else. On top of that, their freezer section is a one aisled dream filled with frozen fruit, seafood, desserts and so many premade frozen foods for those of you always on the go or who are just are not culinary friendly. *This Location is Fantastico* I like their other stores in Palm Desert & Cat City, but this location in La Quinta also has such a great team and very friendly & helpful customer service. Haven't been to this particular location in years, but a planned stop here was in store for me, after an apmnt nearby. TJ's carries a few food items I rely on and can't live without. And their prices for organic produce are lower than anywhere else. I like the layout here much better than the 2 others, and their parking lot too. Can't go wrong at any TJ's. As expected, their diverse selection is a great experience to stroll through the aisles. Staff is always there to support and guide you to your missing items. Their produce is where I have found the shelves are seemingly on the bare side. I have only been there 4 times in the last month but 3 out of the 4, it was difficult to find the greens I was searching for; Spinach, parsley, cilantro were near empty, meaning the remnants were picked over and not very fresh. As expected prices are great and knowing that produce is not a strong staple a simple recipe to adjust and purchase elsewhere. Overall TJ has consistently provided a good market and value in this area. read more

We stopped here because I love their dark chocolate peanut butter cups. That little piece of chocolate after dinner makes all the difference. After running out, we headed back again for a second box only to find, the store was also out. The very nice manager let me know a new shipment was coming the next day. In the mean time, I bought the individually wrapped small bags. It's funny. The first time we went there we saw the back of the store and wondered if it was still open. My kids were with this time and when we turned in, they saId, 'is it open?'. I think it's because it's rather dark on the street side. Gotta have my chocolate and Trader Joe's is the best. read more

The customers are always in a good mood it seems and happy to have a chat about what products they like. All of the checkers are super friendly and I have become to especially like Mark, who works there 3 days a week. Had a bachelorette in the area and coincidentally Hurricane Hilary decided to join us for the weekend haha We went grocery shopping Saturday night to have some groceries to last us the 1-2 days. First and foremost, WOW! This was the most empty Trader Joe's I had ever been to in my life. And I mean that in the best way possible! It was not busy at ALL. (Maybe because of the hurricane?) I could actually shop in peace and it was actually one of my favorite experiences of all time at a TJs because of how peaceful it was! I will say that one TJs employee made a bit of a snippy comment at us. He overheard us gathering groceries for the weekend and made a comment at us about panic buying for the hurricane. I think he assumed we were panic buying as opposed to us visiting for the weekend and actually needing groceries for the Airbnb. However, the awesome cashier at the front made up for that little interaction. He was amazing and so friendly and so much fun to talk to! Overall, another great time at TJs! read more

As we were visiting the area for Christmas weekend, we wanted to stock up on drinks, fruits and snacks for our stay. Everything was very well organized, the ready made salad section was being stocked with fresh salads and the fruit area was filled with a great selection. The rest of the store is a typical Trader Joe's with all the items you're used to. The staff are welcoming and helpful. I really enjoyed shopping here. read more

What a great place to shop. It's small enough you don't get lost in this store, and yet they have everything I need. The produce is always kept very fresh. The shelves are constantly monitored and look neat and orderly. The place is kept immaculately clean. The frozen food selection is great. They have wonderful desserts in frozen section like tiramisou, tres leches cake, key lime pie, and fabulous lemon ice cream. The beer and wine selection is great. Well this is the last time I subject myself to the unprofessionalism od Trader Joes La Quinta. I've overlooked many things but what happened this morning well let's just say Josiah and some of his teammates need a good scolding. I'm not even going to go into it and the fact I gave this place more than one chance, NO thank you. They will tell you they don't have something when they do! Too LAZY to go make sure. Asked if they had pecorino romano 2 weeks ago & a guy who works there does a quick once over of the cheese dept & says nope we don't carry it! He walked away so I went over and started looking and there was the cheese! I found him in the store and showed him that they carry it! He just looks at me & walks away. Just a clear example of how messed up this store is. Unrelated to what happened today but that is basically the lack of caring in this place. read more

My only complaint is all the TJ's in Coachella valley are all well south of PS. This one is the southernmost of the three. If you come down here for an errand, stop in. Worst Trader Joe's customer experience I've ever had in over 30 years of shopping at their stores. Rarely shop Trader Joe's anymore because of this store. My most recent experience was feeling like I inconvenienced every employee I encountered. I'm sorry f I inconvenienced the two employees chatting in front of the produce I was trying to get to. They were facing me, clearly saw me trying to get to the produce tgey stood in front of but continued to stand there chatting. After the 1st "excuse me" they didn't budge. After the 2nd, they moved over 1-2 steps, but still not enough for me to access what I was very clearly trying to get to. After the 3rd time, they finally moved. I'm sorry if I was in the way of the employee yelling across the store. He was standing right next to me and yelled in my ear so loud, I jumped & gasped. He continued to yell across the store without even apologizing. It literally hurt my ear. I'm sorry if I interrupted the PERSONAL conversation between the cashier & bagger. They seemed to be having a lot of fun chatting & giggling while I stood there waiting for my 7 items to be rung up. Once the cashier started ringing up, the bagger continued to chat and laugh. I bagged my own groceries while she just stood there talking. The cashier even stopped ringing up my groceries half-way through my 7 items to continue the PERSONAL conversation. Finally, with two items left to bag, the bagger asked if she could help. The cashier told me to have a good day as I left. The bagger who only even acknowledged me once as I was finishing her job stood there looking away, not even a smile. Once in a while, there's a good staff member here. But for the most part, what was described above is what you get at this store. Good staff usually starts with good management. Hmmm? read more

Stopped by today to pick up a few items for my Tia. As I wanted in I got a smaller cart to carry the items. A lady by the Salad area helped me find the Chicken Salad w/Cranberry that was on my list but I didn't get her name, but thank you for your help and providing me with great customer service. I then walked over two aisle and was looking for the Ginger Chew and Butter squash Ravioli and Don, helped me find those two items. He provided me with great customer service. I enjoy coming to this Trader Joe's. I stop here once or twice a week. It is always well stocked like most Trader Joe's and staff is friendly. They will bag your items if you bring your own bags again so that's good. Just don't let your stupid mask slip beneath you nose, not even for a second because you will asked almost immediately to please keep your mask on... EVEN if it slips before you realize. It's my least favorite Trader Joe's in the desert. So when you bring your bags now they move your food from one cart to another and you have to repack yourself so now recycling is no more important I guess. Fully noted. You have to respect distance with the employees and I respect that. The problem is those employees don't wear gloves. When you know most of contamination is done by the hands you understand that they apply half ass measures that don't protect their employees and their clients unlike other grocery stores in the valley. If you come in early, expect to find the store incredibly stocked, neat, and hardly crowded. Plus, you beat the summer heat and get a good parking spot closest to the entrance. The staff here are more than friendly. They go out of their way to check the stockroom if an item is low or out of stock. I know for a fact that often the item I want is buried deep under heavy boxes...but still, they are happy to bring it out for me. I'm sure they know me as a the dog lady and yet nobody forces me out of the store. I'm respectful with my small dog and always carry him with me while shopping. It's not easy, but I do it. You can not go wrong with 99 percent of the products. Especially the bagged lettuce. I find it to be the most fresh, and best selection of any grocery store. Their greeting cards are the deal of the century. With other store prices of cards topping off at 10.00 each these days, Trader Joe's offers a wide variety of fantastic cards for only 99 cents. Surprisingly pleased with my neighborhood Trader Joe's: 1. There's a big neon orange poster outside stating items out of stock (rice) and items with limited purchase quantity (eggs, hand sanitizers) 2. Given that it could be 125F in the desert real quick, they built a tent outside the store where their customers will wait in line. 3. They only allow 5 people at a time to go inside. This eliminates overcrowding and promote social distancing inside the store. 4. They have sanitized pushcarts INSIDE the store. They do NOT allow passing of pushcarts between customers going out and customers coming in. 5. They spray alcohol on customers hands when they go INSIDE and OUTSIDE the store. 6. All employees wear gloves. 7. The shelves are fully-stocked of fresh and organic fruits and veggies. It felt normal. Normal is good. 8. The doors (used to be automatic) are kept closed unless customers go in or out. Thank you, TJ, for managing this very well! As a non-hoarder consumer, I truly greatly appreciate your effort. read more
