There are two employees here that have no business working in customer service. Justine and Sabrina are obnoxious and rude. They work in the evenings together and this is not the first time they have ruined my shopping experience at this location. I will be calling upper management and corporate tomorrow with all of the details, but here's the last thing that happened after I spent $150 on groceries this evening. I made the mistake of walking up to Sabrina to complain about Justin's poor behavior behind the register, but I could tell she wasn't taking my complaint seriously so I said forget it and that I would follow up tomorrow. I guess that didn't sit well with Miss Sabrina because she followed us to our car and started taking pictures of our car's license plate! My boyfriend got upset and asked her what that was supposed to do- that's when Sabrina started yelling at us and called my boyfriend words that I will not repeat here. (I was shocked to hear a Ralph's employee use such foul language while on the clock and in her own parking lot!) Both of these employees should be fired. One can easily tell they have been working this shift together for some time and have developed the same condescending, lazy attitude without any supervisors to watch over them. I was so upset by the way we were treated tonight, I came home and cried! I will never shop at this location again... I don't go to the supermarket to be treated like trash or to fill my night with unnecessary drama created by an immature duo who obviously have no gratitude or respect for their jobs. read more

Amazing customer service for a Sunday morning! The checker gave my daughter her own little bag to carry her own treats in which absolutely makes my 4yr olds day! Smiles instead of tears is a win all day. I usually don't shop here as it's a bit expensive, yet the nearest store to me. Today I found excellent reduced priced items in eggs and meat . I got 16/18 eggs for .91cents! And bacon for 5.99. I'm being prompted to mention "ambiance" ... I thought it felt fancy in there. read more

I always come to this location and it always has terribly slow service or they are totally inattentive in the deli.

This is a well-stocked grocery store and nicely located if you are staying in PGA West or near that community. I prefer Jensen's, Gelsen's or Whole Foods over Ralph's but the drive to the other grocers is over 20 minutes (versus under 10 minutes) away so Ralph's is handier when it comes to convenience. I don't shop at Ralph's often but I am a member of their program so I really don't appreciate that in order to get the lower sales price posted at items throughout the store, you need to have their app and scan the sign for each item as you're selecting it. This seems like way too much work. Especially if you have to go back and check items to make sure you didn't miss one. Just give your valued members the lowest price!!! read more

Wish I could give zero stars. I was traveling through Palm Desert, CA and stopped for groceries. I live 100 miles away. I realized when I returned home that one of my bags of groceries had not been given to me. I called the store and was transferred to the absolute rudest person I've ever spoken with. Her name was GLORIA and she identified herself as a manager. She was already aware of the issue and I asked her to put the dollar amount for the groceries I paid for and didn't receive on a gift card and mail it to me. Her response, "We're not doing that for you!! You can drive back and get the groceries or get a refund, but that's the only way you'll get your money back. I explained to her again that I lived 100 miles away and wouldn't be in the area again. Her response, SHE HUNG UP ON ME. I consider keeping my money to be fraud. Refund me now. read more

This Ralphs is my go-to grocery store when I'm not shopping at Trader Joe's. They have a good variety of organic fruit, vegetable and dairy options which is important to us. They are a bit lean on female and beauty products, but give plenty of shelf space to alcohol and sports drinks/water varieties. The cashiers are for the most part friendly, but sometimes at the bare minimum. The produce section workers are always super helpful and in a great mood, so they make up for the seemingly tired cashiers. Although I don't drink coffee, it's nice to have a Starbucks here as it adds a wonderful scent to the air and makes it feel like a little village. The Friday before the Superbowl I went shopping to buy snacks for the big game and was disappointed to find boxes piled from the floor to the top shelf covering half of the shelves. There were employees standing around who could see that I was attempting to peer behind the side of the mammoth stock piles to try and find what I was looking for, but did not offer to move anything and continued to talk amongst themselves. I decided Ralphs did not deserve my business that day and left to purchase elsewhere. read more

I went into this Ralph's location yesterday and once again the customer service was not good. It can be a hit and a miss with the quality of service here. However, it's starting to become the norm for the customer to receive way below standard customer service. I am not sure why the attitudes of the employees at this location are bad. They act as if the customer is keeping them away from doing their job even when they are doing nothing but standing there. Why go to your job, if you are incapable of handling the public? Is it the store's management that you have a problem with? Is it the Kroger's corporation itself? In any case I will travel a bit more to shop at Alberston's down the street. They are helpful, polite and smile even when you ask them a question. Also, the store is brighter and cleaner inside. It's not the customer who should take the brunt of whatever it is that's making the staff so unbearable to deal with. read more

This is the 5th time I've been to this Ralphs. I'm on a cane so it's hard for me to bag my own groceries. Every time I've been here the person before me has had help bagging their groceries, but as soon as I get to the register the bagger has something else to do or disappears. I wouldn't mind but it's a chore when you're handicapped and that's why I go to a grocery that supposedly bags for you. It's a 2 if that. read more

This place drives me nuts. Virtually every item is "On Sale"This is a huge scam and this is the story across all stores out here. They show inflated prices as their Regular Price and then drop them down a minuscule amount which makes them relatively the same price as say Stater Bros or Albertson's. Food prices across the valley are out of control but these jokers make uneducated consumers believe they are getting sale items. Honestly it's all price gouging. If you follow my reviews, you will see how much I enjoy grocery shopping and frequent them all for various & different products. And like to support Farmers Markets too. I've refrained from writing this review because I'm a big fan of all the Ralph's in Los Angeles and SoCal. But for the past year, this location in Palm Desert needs major improvements with their staff & team...and now I rarely shop here unless it's for specific items. And I'm in & out as quickly as possible -- opposed to browsing and shopping more. This isn't coming just from me and don't believe everything I read until it happens to me. I read all the recent negative reviews and feel the same way. Unfortunately, I've seen first-hand (a dozen times) that other than the produce guys (Micheal is THE best) and so are the fish counter guys and the bakery gals. But most of the other staff & team members here are so rude, unfriendly and unpleasant -- especially at the self-checkout and deli section. This evening iI entered the store about 5 min before 11pm. The self checkout was already closed and a long line for the single open checkout lane was available. There were 3 people including myself waiting for a VERY long checkout that ended up being $8k. Almost 20 min. I asked the MOD Carina if she could please open up a register to check out the people patiently waiting in line. She defensively said all registers were closed at 11pm including self checkout. I stated I was in line before 11pm and no additional cashier lines were open and you closed them early. I asked if she could please open one up for the 3 customers waiting, she aggressively stated they were already closed and there's nothing that can be done. I said but you're a manager, open and reclose it and get these people out of here. She raised her voice and said THEY ARE CLOSED AND THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT!!! When the large purchase concluded, she jokingly said to use 3 waiting," well that's what happens when you spend $8 thousand dollars hahaha". I really don't ever review Ralphs, I mean what kind of person are you? Superior, Food4less, Ralphs, Vons, Albertsons, Whole foods, Sprouts - get my drift? Anyways, I've always been a big fan of Ralphs. This is usually my go to when I am in the area. I had wings at another location Sun Valley, Ca and they were amazing. I thought I would give them a try, they looked so dry and I was a bit hesitant but decided to go with it. I got 6pc wings with wedges, that was the worse Idea of the day. The potatoes were undercooked, I probably should have stopped eating them but nope. Don't want it to be TMI but I was in the restroom for a good 30mins. Hey all, hope you had a great Easter . I ate at the park earlier today, but I was feeling hungry again, so I went to Ralph's for dinner. Ended up with the Braised beef w/carrots and mashed potatoes. Also picked up a salad. I'll tell you, this was a pretty tasty meal and all for under 20 bucks. The braised beef was super tender, and it just melted in your mouth. I was really surprised at how good it tasted. The mashed potatoes and carrots were cooked just right. The salad, yum. Feta cheese,cucumber,olives,and bell peppers. Honestly,this was all pretty tasty, oh, and I topped it off with a slice of cheesecake. Like I mentioned, all under 20bucks. Not bad. read more

One of my favorite grocery stores. They have a Starbucks store, that was just remodeled just weeks ago. There is a huge cheese section. Far bigger than most stores. A wonderful deli department. Huge liquor department. This store is far bigger than most grocery stores. There is even a wonderful bakery section with huge selection of cakes, cupcakes, and more. You can also rent movies here, and play lottery. A truly wonderful store. read more

Everytime we come to Palm Desert for our annual summer vacation, we always stop by here for all our resort needs (as far as groceries go). The store is always clean and well stocked. There is even a "charcuterie" section. A few times, there have been beer/liquor tastings here which is pretty neat. Their meats and produce are always great quality and their Starbucks is a good size compared to ones I have seen at other grocery stores which are smaller. read more

Angelina B cashier terrible customer service. This is our neighborhood store and have never encountered such a rude, loudmouth, in your face cashier. We bought one liquor item, she didn't ask if we wanted a bag, she checked us out as fast as she could and transaction was done. We asked for a bag and she stated, your in California you don't need a bag, in a very loud gruff manner!! For this item we want a bag we told her. Well that did it, she again in a loud condescending voice, "It's 10 cents!" She seemed so angry and we said you should of asked us if we wanted a bag or not. She came back angrier and stuck her had out for the 10cents, which we gave her. Then the cashier next to her said are they giving you trouble?!! Angelina answer, "yes!" I am utterly DISGUSTED with the quality of this store's food! I spent $248 last night and am so GROSSED out that I am writing this review instead of enjoying my evening after working for 10 hours straight. Seriously never thought I'd write a review about a grocery store. One hour after I put my groceries away, I wanted to make a salad. The tomatoes (the little ones in plastic package) had MOLD on almost every tomato!! I have attached a photo. I abandoned my salad making and just had cheese and crackers for dinner. On my way to work the next day, I grabbed one of the pre-made salads purchased the nite before (greek & chicken with had a sell by date of the 15th and it was the 11th) and some pre packaged fruit (same sell by date). The salad's lettuce was all brown and SLIMY and the chicken tasted ROTTEN!! They obviously use old ROTTEN ingredients for their deli pre-made foods. I then tried to eat the fruit - all SLIMY and BROWN. Threw away the fruit & went to Taco Bell. For dinner, I hesitantly tried to eat the deli broccoli salad and practically THREW UP!! Again, OLD, SLIMY Ingredients. I waited at the deli for 28 minutes before an employee came to help me. SHAME ON YOU KROGER!!! HOW DARE YOU RAISE YOUR PRICES AND SELL ROTTEN FOOD!! I just had a rather interesting experience at this Ralph's location. I came to Ralph's to get a few ingredients for lunch and other grocery items. I had a craving for deli sandwiches so I made a B line to the deli counter. To my surprise they were out of Boar's Head turkey meat. When asked if this was true, it was recommend that I try the Ralph's store brand meat. I made my way over to the pre-packaged selections but the quality of the meat slices looked dubious. I decided to ditch the sliced deli meat option and make a sandwich from grilled chicken breast. On my way to the chicken counter I picked up a bottle of Casamigos tequila and proceeded to the bakery for some fresh rolls. The bakery did not have fresh rolls. The bakery aisle was a mess, and when I approached the woman re-stocking sliced bread, the intercom paged something to the effect of: "Would (employee name) please come to the liquor aisle for assistance." The woman restocking the sliced bread (I did not get her name) seemed a little frustrated that she had to stop what she was doing to walk over the liquor aisle. She even went as far as to say out loud how she needed to restock the eggs and the milk as well. Sensing that she was having a moment, I decided to forgo the fresh rolls and just make chicken and salad. Upon walking back over to the produce section I could see that only two checkout lanes were open and both had long lines. Since I was buying tequila, I knew I would not be able to utilize the self-checkout so I decided to abandon all plans of grocery shopping for lunch. I did however decide to walk back to the liquor aisle to put back my bottle of tequila. When I arrived there, I was greeted by a young employee by the nam of Marco. Marco was unlocking the liquor cabinet for other customers and asked if I needed assistance. I declined politely and restocked the bottle myself, and left the store. It is clear to me that this Ralphs is either mismanaged, or severely understaffed - perhaps both? It will be quite some time before I decide to come back here for my grocery shopping. read more

Well stocked, most of the stock staff and others are pleasant and professional except for one onry, unprofessional checkout girl Gloria who seems to have a permanent crappy attitude. On the plus side, the store is super well stocked and clean. I can always find what I'm looking for and the store is well laid out. I have been shopping here for years, mainly because it is close and it serves its purpose. But lately, several mos now, they are always out of so many items. I could understand this during the Pandemic, but why are so many things out of stock now? I was just there 2 days ago for my weekly shopping. There were only 2 stalks of celery...fortunately I got the second to last one! No red bell peppers whatsoever. Four heads of iceberg lettuce that were turning brown. No Ralphs brand vanilla almond milk. No canned canelli beans, which I needed for that evening. Just an empty section on the shelf. Two or three more items that I can't recall. This is increasingly frustrating when you need a specific item (nothing fancy or exotic, just everyday stuff). read more

This grocery store is the most cluttered and the least clean in Palm Desert. The checkout lanes are very slow, and self checkout is even slower and more frustrating. The food is generally good quality, but shoppers need to pay close attention to the sell by and expiration dates. The coupon games, especially digital, actually cost shoppers more money due to higher prices and extra labor costs involved. I suggest choosing a different grocery store unless you're buying just a few items and you have extra time. If you complain to Ralphs, they consistently say, " I just work here." They have no desire or motivation to improve at all. read more

Purchase some sushi from their in-store vendor and the sushi is so thin you can see through it. I feel like they're just trying to feed me rice and imitation crab. This is not what I expected bought a $17 box of sushi! This used to be a good place to get sushi, but something has changed so I don't recommend getting sushi here. read more

Yelp 3 was way too nice for this grocery store! Upon first entrance and throughout the whole shopping experience I saw nothing but rude and unfriendly employee's. Next, it was so dirty and nasty smelling throughout the whole store. The refrigerator doors don't work are usually wide open. Groceries are carelessly, disorderly stocked on shelves. Limited stock with bare shelves all over. I imagine people will see this and say this guy was having a bad day. I wasn't it was a good day, sunny, and warm. Customer Service - poorest rating I can think of. I went in Saturday night to get my usual items. It was around 8pm. Nine of the items I usually purchase on a weekly basis was out of stock. This includes deli meat, celery, bananas, bread, and so on. I even tried to purchase a couple items such as ice cream and my 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices were out of stock. Now comes the customer service part - checking out with only two heads of lettuce, I was asked if that was all? I replied, well, the other nine items weren't on the shelves! The cashier didn't even look at me and replied, "that happens." I am not sure what has happened at this store, my favorite cashier left, my second favorite, who we always talk about animals, I don't see any more and my overall favorite (for years) has moved to the self-check-out area. I have not gone to this Ralphs and found all of the items I usually purchase in a long time. I used to do my entire weeks shopping there and now only pick up about half as I have found other items at substantial savings elsewhere. I think I'll use the self check-out more if I go back (there is another Ralphs five or so miles away). Maybe the cashier's attitude was to get me to use the self-check-out who knows? read more
