My wife, her mom, and I took a short trip to the Coachella Valley in March, staying at different sites during the trip. When we confirmed that our stay had a full size kitchen, it made sense for us to do a full round of grocery shopping, to try to eat-in more. This Albertson's was convenient on our way back from dinner, and we ended up buying a lot more than anticipated. Even though it is a sister store of Von's, it still required us to download the Albertson app to be able to get the savings from digital coupons. We ended up using the store Wi-Fi, and everything applied correctly. The gentleman behind the meat/seafood counter was friendly, and provided us good choices in various meats. Now it's just a matter of finishing everything before we have to go back home. read more

Just came back with the plan to get a rotisserie chicken. The ones in the warmer looked like pigeons. I opted for the roasted mango deal. 8 pieces for $5.99. Monday is cheep chicken day. LOL. The help I guess, are told to unload the smallest, driest pieces first. Two thighs were the size of small jelly jar caps and the legs were the size of your entire thumb. The reg. price is $10.99? Came here with a friend for a few things before hitting The Living Desert Zoo. We grabbed some waters (bottled) and snacks, along with food. My friend grabbed a chicken sandwich and said, "this is a lot of meat." Which I of course responded with a "that's what she said comment." We both laughed. His sandwich was pretty stacked up with two fried chicken patties, mustard, mayo on the bread, and some lettuce. It was so big it wouldn't even close! That was from the deli area where they have pre-made foods too. I grabbed one of the vegetarian pastas from the pre-made area. So yummy! Since we were going to The Living Desert, I also grabbed a bunch of organic lettuce. I planned on using this lettuce to feed the giraffes. Sadly, once we got there, I was informed that you can't bring your own lettuce. You have to buy there's. Welp, a perfect bunch of organic lettuce gone to waste. Oh well. It did look very fresh though lol Overall, this store was very clean. Super organized. Friendly and helpful staff. We got in and out in no time. This is a great Albertsons location. read more

This review is based on my service from the bakery. I called in a cake order for my son's 18th birthday. I asked for a simple red velvet cake with white buttercream frosting and cream cheese in the middle. I mentioned to the girl over the phone that I just wanted the inscription on top of the cake to my son in light pink because it's his favorite color. I had my mom pick it up for me because I was working late. I come home to find a cake with pink flowers and pink everywhere. It was awful! I never asked for pink roses with a pink border. This is a Barbie cake! The lettering is bright pink. It was very feminine and to make matters worse the cake was very dry. I didn't have the time to return to exchange for a simpler cake. It was not worth $22. I will never order a cake from Albertsons again. Poor communication from the bakery. read more

This review is exclusively for the deli and the way management handled a huge problem. My wife was having a neighborhood Bunco group over, so items from Albertson's would be necessary. Initially, we requested two dozen Deviled Eggs but then we tacked on two other trays a day later. The pickup time was set almost a week in advance at 5PM. At 4PM the day of, I sauntered in as I was the designated person for pickup. When I announced my name, the worker came out with FOUR dozen Deviled Eggs so I explained that only two were required. I also stated that there were two more trays we needed. He took back the extras and started asking questions. This is where I knew there was a problem. Evidently, someone had come in earlier and they took THOSE trays that were ours. One of the ladies that has been there for years came out to exclaim that there was no explanation. She offered to cut up prepackaged hoagies but I knew my wife didn't want that choice. She went over the options with another lady in a detailed manner, confirming she wanted finger sandwiches in a particular quantity. In addition, they were supposed to arrange a fruit and cheese tray. When I told her my wife would not be happy, she said there was nothing else she can do. I asked a checker for the manager and he stated he was working a register and he would pull him out so he can talk to me. When he went over to him and whispered in his ear, he decided not to even acknowledge my presence. He sent over a very nice female instead, who attempted to investigate what had transpired with the missing trays. After a 15-20 minute pow-wow between three people in the deli, the consensus was it would take 90 minutes to re-create what we had ordered with no other options given. They asked if there was anything else they could do and I said, "Obviously not". We were now up against the clock and we needed to resolve this quickly. Thanks to a family friend, she was at Sam's and she purchased three trays for us which saved us oodles of cash and n the stress of being ill prepared. This was the FIRST and the LAST time we order from that deli. For the past five years this has been my store of convenience. I believe we will be re-thinking our position. read more

If you're in the frontside of the store, the signs list completely different items than if you're shopping & browsing on the backside of the store. Example: now that they moved the oatmeal/cereal 8 aisles away from where it used to be and you're on the backside of the store, the sign overhead does not list "Cereal" on the overhead sign, even though the products are shelved on the backside. Yet the sign overhead on the front side of the store list "Cereal" on the front side of store etc etc. Talk about walking around in circles trying to locate what you're looking for. And trying to find someone to assist you too? I know there's bigger problems going in the world. But grocery store shopping is a chore in itself, and the workers here are busy enough as it is...and wasting all our time circling the store and being escorted to the aisle is time-consuming. Whoever made this decision really needs to reevaluate this system. Because it's a big-time faux pas. Sorry but the truth hurts sometimes. Nonetheless, it is what it is ~ a gigantic chain that has most of the grocery store essentials, spacious & clean...I like the new self-checkout area...there's lots of weekly discounts...and great money saving digital deals & freebies through their app. But despite all the good (and some of the bad) they don't stock & carry lots of items that force me to shop at Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Bristol Farms (which is across the street) Gelson's, Clark's...sometimes Ralph's and Farmers Markets too. Sorry but sometimes the truth hurts. Lastly, they offer grocery delivery service through their app & website. My wife & I recently tried it out because they had a promo for $20 off the first order with a required minimum. We were very pleased with our 1st experience and the personal shopper who picked out our produce (tho we prefer to choose our own) the delivery was fast and on-time ~ serviced with a friendly smile too. While in Rancho Mirage, this is where I do my big item grocery shopping. The store layout is super confusing! Why can't all Albertsons follow a similar layout? I find myself wandering, searching for common items that never are located where logically they would be placed. Impossible to find someone to help or point me in the right direction. Often I go to customer service or the self checkout and ask the cashiers there for assistance. Cashews and nuts should not be that hard to locate! Regarding the products, the produce is always in good condition and well stocked as is the bread and bakery area. The wine area is well organized and there are always discounts for 6 bottle or more. Thank you! When you first enter the store, you are bombarded with spontaneous purchase items like flowers, balloons and wine so it can be difficult getting past this area when it's crowded. Literally, not being funny! The day before Thanksgiving was particularly crowded and challenging! While completing my shopping, my friends actually texted to ask if I had gotten lost! Recently, we noticed there are new sushi chefs and new branding. While we liked the sushi department before, under the new ownership/management, the sushi is even better. I am now disabled. 95 percent of our shopping is picked up at curb side. This store has never let me down. In my latest pick up I ordered meats and cheese from the deli. The cheese was layered with paper to prevent it from sticking. The meat was sliced and stacked very neatly. I am very happy with the service you provide. We only bought 2 jugs of iced tea today. We couldn't believe how long it took to check out with 2 items. The cashier, Kathleen, was incredibly slow and spent a lot of time talking about personal business with the woman standing there to bag groceries. They made little eye contact, barely said a word to us, and were as slow as sand in an hour glass, because they were consumed with talking to each other. Kathleen didn't even look at us as she waived the receipt in our direction, continuing to concentrate on her non business related conversation with her colleague. I like Albertsons bakery and will come here sometimes just for that. I usually avoid this particular location because the parking lot is always a nightmare. If you don't know what anxiety is, you'll surely experience it in their parking lot. Oh, if you want to be rushed at check-out and have a cashier not allow you the proper 10 seconds it takes to type in your phone number for reward/fuel points then go to the express lane and visit Dora. I was so rudely rushed today, told I didn't even need to put in my number in for points and I could go the self-checkout line next time. I shop here often as I like the bakery, fresh produce and the Lucerne products. On a recent visit(yesterday) I went to buy fruit, cheese as well as other items. while in the back near juices, I saw a go-back basket with several Milo's tea gallons in it. they were marked 50% off. I thought wow, so I took 2. There was a ladder and a lot of stuff just thrown in there. when I got up front to check out, I put several items on the check-out counter. A manager rushes over to tell me he can take on the next one. I said I already have 1/2 my items on the counter, he insisted I put them back as he could take me right away. I reluctantly agreed. He then proceeded to question me where I got the teas from, I told him. He said those are for someone else, I asked who, it was a basket with a ladder? He refused to answer. I asked is it for an employee, he still refused to answer and took the tea. Then for the 1st time ever I had problems putting in my number. There were several people around when this happened, it was embarrassing. I have been going to Vons, Albertsons, Pavillions for over 30 years and have never been treated or embarrassed like this before. I will find it hard to step in there again. I will go to the nearby Vons just for my dairy but I will buy everything else elsewhere ************************************************************** UPDATE I contacted Albertsons through their website as the manager suggested. I got an email. I called and the person who answered was the same manager who gave me a hard time about the tea. He said the person who contacted me was not there and took my info including my cell phone. I never got a response. After shopping there for almost three years I was very pleasantly surprised to find, sort of hidden away, my beloved Ronzoni Pasta, specifically Spaghetti No 8. This was my NY Italian mothers go to pasta for weekend pasta dinners. As I have had a need to go back to NY one a month, I usually stop by a store and buy my stash of Ronzoni and fly back with it in my luggage. It's located at the very end of the pasta isle. The Uber and Doordash delivery could be better. I was on the cell phone for 45 minutes to guide the delivery person to my house. The drivers 'NEVER' can find my home. I provide simple instructions at the store and the GPS. Sometimes when the driver cannot find my house, they lie and return my order. It is so annoying to deliver such a hassle. I must advise another delivery service. Uber and DoorDash can not read or speak English most of the time. My delivery today was 1 hour late today, and I was on the phone for 45 minutes providing directions from English to 1/2 spoken Spanish. We walked by employees in the aisles, the meat department, produce department, and just in general throughout the store, not one person said "Hi, how are you doing"? Not 1 person smiled. We even had to ask one employee if they would please move over so that we could get through the aisle with our grocery cart. He seemed very put out. And didn't say a word. Isles were well stocked. I shop online then have my order delivered to my car at Albertsons in Rancho Mirage. I know they run a test charge when you order then adjust the final bill and reverse the "test charge". Four days later no reversal of the test charge. Contacted them and told it's an IT issue with no time frame to correct the double billing. Check your credit card charges. read more

We go to an Albertson's in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This Rancho Mirage location does not even come close to the selection of the Santa Fe location. The produce is not great, very poor selection of salad "kit" items, and generally lacking selection in every department. Moreover, the prices are quite high. And, I agree that there is basically no customer service here at this Rancho Mirage location. They must not treat the staff very well! Very few staff on the floor. I will give it 2 stars because it is, at least, clean. It is hard to believe it is the same chain as the Santa Fe location, which is fabulous! read more

Second Albertsons I have had an issue with. This one was as unbelievable as the first one I went to. So I go here at least once a week and always use the self check-out. This obsession the employees have with making sure you pay for your bag is beyond belief!! This is the second time the same woman here butt in front of me reaching over w/o saying excuse me and putting in the bag I requested!! As she butt in front of me I said, excuse me but I know how to add the bag at the end of the transaction! I told her I am good and if I needed help I would ask. I wasn't rude and told her I was good. She copped an attitude and proceeded o go over to another cashier and started gossiping about me and the other cashier looked at me! I could hear her and everything. I finished, added the bag and then paid and as I am leaving she has the nerve to tell me that the next time I come in no one is going to help me!!!!! That I can forget about getting any assistance! I asked for a manager and was told no manager was there. I know the manager was there because I saw him as i came in! I finally was able to speak to him. He just listens says he'll take care of it and walks away! Went in there the other day and there she is with the attitude so I walked out and went to Ralphs.
