This is a huge Latin grocery store with authentic traditional and regular grocery items. It's got almost everything you would need!! They have a variety of fresh produce, flowers, alcohol, masa, butchered meats, bakery items, fresh made tortillas and so much more. They have a section for ready made food and juices. For the ready made food section, customer service was a little slow. We came in the morning when it wasn't too busy. Otherwise, the employees we encountered had good customer service. WTH!!!!! Right when you walk in this absolutely DISGUSTING smell rots your nose. Absolutley made me and my mother want to vomit! We wanted to buy something from the meat/seafood. We barely made it to the deli and meat place closing our noses for dear life and once we got there we couldn't believe our eyes. None of the meat or seafood was on ice. NONE! Unbelieveable. That's definitely a health code violation!! My mother asked the worker why the lobster or shrimp wasn't on ice, and the worker responded that "they are cleaning the meat machine." What does that have to do with anything?!? We were dumbfounded and walked right out of this store, as for other products, i'd hope they would be alright but i genuinely am disgusted about how this place is still open! read more

They are a clean store with lots of options that some of the mainstream markets don't have. Love to go there for when I make chips and salsa... They have all the right types of peppers and good tomatoes, and awesome chips made there. I also like their Mexican candy... I also love that they have a place where you can order tacos and other yummy plates like One of my favorites, Carnitas in salsa Verde. Yum! Everyone is so nice there and very helpful and attentive! Although, I did hear from a friend that the bakery recently screwed up on her grandson's birthday cake, and I saw the picture of what they were given, and I saw the picture of the atrocity that they sold her and didn't even give her a refund because she prepaid... Totally ridiculous... Just putting it out there just in case the MANAGER sees this and realizes that one person does have quite a reach, so you really need to not put out cakes like that in the future... It makes me second-guess buying a cake from you after seeing what was sold to my friend. It looked like somebody was finger painting on a cake and it wasn't the design that was given to them at prepayment... This doesn't change my review because my review is based on my personal experience, but management needs to know that pictures exist and are shared. This place was recommended by the Worldmark concierge and she was spot on with this! It was a like tour of Mexico! It is the mini version of Mercado Gonzalez Northgate market in Costa mesa. Nonetheless, we love this place! The dessert prices were reasonable. We got the fruit tart. It was layered with chocolate and marshmallow creme. The strawberry was wilting like it had been out a while. Overall, it was good for the price. I got 1/2 pound of spicy cerviche. The lady at the counter was not friendly, maybe because I didn't speak Spanish? The cerviche was OK. At least it was full of ingredients and not watery. I could taste the lime but no spice. Best Whole Foods type Mexican Grocery store from fresh ceviche to fresh tortillas and everything in between. Fresh produce and my kids love coming here for their fresh pastries. The bakery/ pastry section is amazing. There is an attached Tap room inside and a Covina for take out. Wish there was a grocery store like this in Menifee. Service is friendly and helpful. Solid three stars for authentic flavor and good customer service. The portion size of a large menudo at Vallarta Market was dismal, at best. Vallarta Market needs to introduce a bigger bowl, and offer bigger sizes for hungrier individuals. My large menudo at Vallarta Market today was $14 dollars, see attached receipt, it included fresh tortillas, and some side items like cilantro, onions, and lime to liven up the menudo. One of the worse culinary experiences any customer can have is to walk away feeling cheated or short-changed by the restaurant or food establishment that sold the food. Definitely felt short-changed and cheated today, especially when you consider that Cardenas Market sells the same menudo bowl for half the price. Come on? 100% mark-up on menudo? Really? Get real Vallarta Market. Your customers are closely monitoring for any price gouging. Im not sure what's the term for race-on-race discrimination, but every time I'm checking out there's always an employee looking at me like I'm stealing. I've even been stopped on my way out and asked if I paid for items and had receipt! Wednesdays they have a sushi special which is a $5 California roll which ingredients are labeled as immatation crab, avocado, and cucumber. Well I guess they're leaving the avocado out for some reason so as a customer, I'm not getting what Im paying for! So 1 star for bad service and false labeling. Although, you'll probably get treated better if your not a young Hispanic male being stereotyped. read more

I moved to palm desert from LA county which has several Vallartas. I have been visiting for at least 30 years. In the very beginning they had a excellent Mexican food before they expanded heavily. Now the cooked food is not good at all so I go for the produce occasionally. Do not buy regular American grocery items there because they were always way too expensive. Anyway, I wanted to try the only market they have in Coachella valley and it's fairy new. When I First walked in I said wow! I love the looks. However, the meat is mostly from Mexico which I will not buy. The hamburger meat only comes in 90% lean. They have beef ribs from Mexico and choice ribs from USA for 9.99 a lb! I never paid that for ribs before. Unless they improve their food I probably won't be back because it's pretty far just to buy produce. It's pretty far from my house so I don't think I will be visiting this market too often. I bought the tamales which I thought were pretty bad , especially the cheese one. Also the pastries were not good as well. read more

Twice now I've purchased meat off the butcher and it has gone bad within 24hr for one and 48 for the other. This is over $30 worth of meat each time! Stoped by the place on the way to the desert to get some drinks l, snacks and food to bar b que for our desert weekend! And man I was very impressed at how clean and modern and fresh this place was and the selection of everything was amazing and exceeded my expectations! I mean they have everything you could possibly want or need for a party or bar b que and all everything is fresh and delicious unless is prepackaged like chips and stuff of the sort! But we got 2 lbs of fresh carne asada and some fresh cheese and fresh guacamole and a few other things for our trip and wow was everything delicious and flavorful once we grilled it up! Will definitely be back again when we head back out to the desert and maybe sooner just to bar b que just cause the meat and selection of everything was amazing and the staff and the checker were super polite and friendly and made the whole experience a plus! If you haven't been to shop at this place you definitely need to check it out and pick up some delicious fresh products you won't be disappointed! And the even have a department were they make fresh hot tortillas! Stopped in today to grab some strawberry tamales that I've been thinking about this past week and snatched up some pan fino while I was at it. This is a pretty neat supermarket. The meat and produce section are on point . Their kitchen and bakery are good too. They have tamales on tap, so I don't have to wait for a holiday or the Tamale festival! lol. They have this cool corner with Mexican candies and home goods. Interestingly, there's a Tap Room in the grocery store. I believe it's called Sayulita. I have yet to come through the bar, but I'm sure I will soon. Them chorizo sliders are calling my name. :P The place is very clean. Customer service is average. I had excellent customer service from Carlos yesterday in the produce department . He retrieved an item that I requested from the warehouse immediately. On the way out, the cashier named Mohamad effeciently answered our questions and provided pertinent information in regards as to where to purchase a brand named item that the market didn't carry. read more

I had purchased some chicken on the 4th of May. Today May the 6th. I was about to cook the chicken for my lunch when I go to work. As I opened the package, it had a slight smell to it. I thought not too much of it and prepared and cooked the chicken. After cooking. I went to cut the chicken to see if it was cooked properly. As I checked the rotted smell was worse and made my stomach turn. I had not choice but to throw it away. Will never buy chicken from Vallarta again. read more

This is the cleanest, most organized, and nicest Vallarta I've ever been to! We went yesterday morning 8-18-23 and was quite impressed with the place. There's usually an over powering meat funk smell when you walk into Vallarta's but not this one! Every employee was nice as well. They have a fresh juice bar, sushi bar, ice cream, and restaurants. You can eat a meal here before you do your grocery shop. Hopefully it stays this clean. I'd gladly do the hour drive to it if it continues staying like this. I guess they got new management recently as well. I saw they had a designated lactation room when I was walking to the bathroom for their employees. Which is amazing! You hear so many story's about having to pump in a utility closet or the bathroom. So happy to see they have a spot for the hard working moms. read more

Their Caldo de res, Cosido and Chile verde con chicharron are pretty tasty, majority of their food is delish! Oh and their tamales especially the tamales de Chile Poblano en rajas con queso are yummy, sooo good! When preparing the food, they are generous with their servings! the establishment is clean! This place is so convenient and does a much better job serving the valley than Cardenas. I've been going here since they opened but just recently found out they have a place where they serve hot food, alcohol and have sushi! The sushi is fairly priced and you can just pick out what is already made to save a lot of time. They also take custom orders which I will be picking up soon and may edit my review if necessary. Their carne asada is also really good here and have 2 options, one is more pricier but they both grill the same in my opinion. My favorite from them is their chicken fajitas, all you have to do is cook it since everything is already marinated and it tastes amazing. The service is always really nice. Cardenas never has any chicken for me when I ask at the hot food bar but here at Vallarta, they have it all and I can't wait to keep coming back for more. read more
