    Inside fruit + veg section

The most well curated, clean & quality Asian supermarket! Our family + friends rave about this place & it's seriously our FAV place to shop for groceries especially FRUIT! Here you can find the esteemed "perfect" fruits from melons, grapes, mangoes, strawberries to oranges all flown in by air. Be warned that these perfect fruits are pricey- even the regular selection of fruits here are pricier than your average supermarket. However the regular fruit selections are like AAA+ quality; the sweetest & most fragrant fruit! No more sour/tasteless fruit ever again!! Winco also has rotating exotic/seasonal fruit by air from all over the world. We were most impressed by whole fresh durian from Thailand recently! Winco def caters to those families who value quality over quantity (it also comes with a higher price tag shopping here) Employees take aesthetics & cleanliness seriously. Their fresh fish & meat section doesn't smell which is very impressive for an Asian supermarket. Fruits & veg are constantly being refilled, rearranged & placed in perfect triangular towers. You can also see many employees shaving off/picking off browned veg leaves so the bag of veg you're purchasing is the freshest & youngest (who wants to be paying per pound for veg & needing to peel off 1/4 to throw away... Winco does that step for you even before you buy) I find that fruits & veggies last longer if I buy from here lol You can also find unique foreign snacks from Japan, Korea, Taiwan & beyond! Their frozen selection of ice cream, seafood & hot pot ingredients are plentiful & full of tasty varieties Never thought I'd be so passionate about an Asian supermarket! Winco is a place you'll want to check out!

I know some reviews have mentioned WinCo improving substantially as the years have gone by, but I sort of believe otherwise. I'm frequently in the area so I come here quite a bit - for a Chinese supermarket, this place is quite clean, especially their seafood market which has it's own space. Despite their efforts to keep the place clean and tidy (applause for that), I've started coming here a little less as I noticed their prices increasing quite a big, making it no longer the "cheap yet good quality" grocery store I knew it as. Things like oranges and choy have gone up in prices whereas other supermarkets have not (which confirms it's not due to shortages and other environmental factors that may cause inflations. I will mention another perk about them though, which is that they carry some products that not all places have such as certain snacks (e.g. Samyang carbonara tteobeoki which even HMart Richmond Hill doesn't carry, and even though both carry the hot chicken flavor, WinCo is slightly cheaper for this specific product. As well as those highly sought after brown sugar boba ice cream bar but are priced higher than places like T&T as they sell for $8.99 plus tax a box, yikes!)

Here in Ottawa we have only 1 large Asian supermarket (a T&T that has less selection and higher prices than T&Ts in the GTA), so whenever I'm in Markham, I pretty much hit every Asian supermarket within 5 kilometres of my hotel, to see what cool and unusual things I can get that I can't find in Ottawa. I found WinCo on Yelp and it was less than a kilometre from my hotel. Unfortunately, I was nonplussed. WinCo has no prepared foods section (sad face) No bakery (double sad face). These are my favourite sections at a grocery store. I found the place did not look as bright or as clean as T&T or Foody Mart. I didn't feel like wandering the aisles like at the other places. It's near First Markham Place. Same plaza as the Winners. Lots of free parking.

This is a good alternative to T&T if you don't want to be in a mass of people every time you go grocery shopping. There's a good selection of produce, fruits and veggies to the left when you enter. At the back left corner there's the seafood department and meat along the back wall. Lots of noodles, condiments, snack in the aisles and frozen goods to the right of the aisles. Something new that I noticed today was the boba flavoured pineapple cakes. It's too bad there isn't a bakery section as I'm sure it would be popular among shoppers.

    Look like expired to me..

Decided to check out this new Chinese supermarket after hotdog dinner at Costco. (Jan 23, 2017) I feel that it's similar to the seasons foodmart at world on YONGE rather than t&t. So prices are a bit lower than t&t and can be a good deal for stuff on sale. Now my concern is that quite a lot of snacks there seem to have expired or going to expire soon and the price tags don't reflect that. Some supermarket sell expired food at lower prices and state on the sign that the food has expired. But I don't see it here at winco. Idk... maybe it's manufacturing date? However I will be more cautious and really go through the package label to make sure I don't get any expired food, at least not at regular price.

Mangoes from Thailand! $30 for a case of 5 or $12 per pound.

Winco offers higher quality produce than many other Asian supermarkets. My mom comes here at least once a day as she says the fruits and veggies are very fresh and nice. When it first opened last year, it was pretty quiet, but now, it's one of the busiest supermarkets in town. The fruits and vegetables are higher priced than many other places, but for other items I find the price the same or less. I guess the price premium for fruits and veggies is for their freshness and high quality, but everything else it's the same item as other places. Sometimes I find some pretty unique items here, like whole frozen 貓山王 durian (around $16 per pound) and crab meat from Japan.

All reviews were pretty accurate, for a supermarket that sells medium to higher quality items than other grocery stores , this place is pretty small. Was pretty skeptical about coming here since the previous store was a pet store. Aisles are tight but they have a variety of snacks and instant noodles that foodymart/ t&t lack. Their fresh produce are a bit more on the expensive side but their quality and the way they display their fruits and veggies is pretty appealing; however, it's like playing Jenga when trying to harvest them from the big fruit pyramids lol I would definitely come here again just for snacks and their limited edition asian stuff you can't find at other stores.

    Omg! muscat grape!!

Finally, we have another Chinese Supermarket in this area. WinCo has better and fresher vegetable & fruits, and their price is cheaper than T&T supermarket. I come here once a week for my grocery (esp vegetable, fruits, and snacks) I love that they have so many different fruits. E.g. they have my favourite Muscat grapes now~ They also have Muscat grapes directly from Japan this week (but it's like $13.99/lbs... so I didn't buy it...) I also love how they promote their fruit by writing "it's sweet", "it's fresh" in Chinese, and it's true. They put "it's sweet" for strawberry last month, and YES, the strawberry was soooo sweet :-D This location is a bit smaller than their Market Village location. BUT this location is way cleaner and better than the Market Village one~~

Yesssss! Another Asian grocery store has arrived closer to the Richmond Hill area. I rejoice in the cheap Asian food basics and I'm so happy that I can get my necessities (watercress anyone?) when I'm done work. It is newly opened and it is quite smaller than other grocery stores, therefore this place doesn't have the same offerings and pre made food options. Prices are competitive or at par with other Asian grocery stores. Prices are also cheaper for vegetables and other items than longos but quality is probably not the same, especially the meat. You will not find the regular Caucasian brands here, or if so, definitely at a more jacked up price. This place is very similar to foody mart in terms of offerings and atmosphere, but it is cleaner. The store is easy to navigate and makes logical sense. Service is the same at all other stores. A side of meh but not rude. 3.5/5. Same quality and great value for your dollar, but being a smaller size unfortunately hinders them on the variety of items and the absence of pick up and go/pre-made food.

Highly recommended Grocery Store in Markham. New, Clean, great price for sea food, meats, fruits, veggie and lot more! Compared with other large or T&T grocery you may save 10% or more. Winco at Markham location do not have bakery and restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Prices really reasonable and fresh as well. This is to go place for grocery!!!

It's definitely expensive shopping here but you really do get what you pay for. I come here mainly for their bakery items like their famous jelly roll cake - a must get for the holidays! Their cookies here are baked in house and delicious as well. I often come here during the holidays for herbs as well, since herbs seem to sell out quickly at larger grocery stores. They really have everything that you need here. Butcher section also has great quality meat. As for their ice cream pints at the back of the store - you MUST get some! They are so delicious with unique flavours, some even with an Asian twist. Overall, a great grocery store to shop from if you have the means for it ;) OR stop in here once in a while to check out their specialty items like the jelly roll!

I stopped by to pick up one of their infamous jelly rolls. Never had one but heard that it's amazing. The standard one is the mixed berry however they had a lemon & blueberry one so I opted to go with that since hubby loves that flavor combination. We took it to a friend's house that night and it was exquisite! My friends who said that they normally don't like cake now have a new addiction. The cake had the perfect texture to it to hold up all that amazing fresh cream, lemon curd and blueberries and it was also a perfect balance of sweetness. I've been there on multiple occasions while living in Markham usually interacting with the staff in bakery and the cashiers and everyone I have encountered has been lovely. The parking lot isn't massive but it is enough to host all of their shoppers as I've never had an issue with finding parking there.

This place is huge, and sells all kinds of things. Parking is a bit hectic, even at 1:45 on a Thursday afternoon. The parking spots right in front of the Food Mart are very small, and scary for a big SUV like mine. But there is very frequent turnover, and if you just drive around the lot for 30 seconds, someone will be pulling out. The parking spaces in front of the stores facing the Food Mart are larger and a bit easier to navigate. This mall is great fun to go to. They have all manner of foods (fresh noodles! Great fruits! Asian stuffed toys and cosmetics! Fresh meat and seafood! The list goes on and on ...) and an excellent prepared food counter, and a Chatime outlet. We bought some mochi, some enormous strawberries, and a variety of dim sums from the food counter. Our selections included fried dough sticks (they actually reheat well in the air-fryer), fried squid, scallion pancakes, seafood and pork dumplings, some delicious pork and shrimp mini-pancakes. The squid was the way my daughter likes it (chewy), and I enjoyed some as well. Everything else was great, although the dumplings were a bit past their peak, and should have been switched out for new ones. We also enjoyed some delicious bubble tea from Chatime, which always has new, seasonal selections to tempt you. Basically, a trip to the Asia Food Mart is really fun, as they have such a diversity of products. Next time, I'm coming here to shop "for real" (meaning actual groceries, as opposed to lunch or snacks). The butchery and fish counters serve really fresh food at a good price, and there are some great deals on produce. You can't get around the fact that this is a snack haven. You should check it out now!!! It's open 24/7.

My family and I had just eaten at the Pacific Mall, but man, wish we had saved ourselves for this spot. As far as an Asian grocery stores go, this is one of the cleaner, and better organized ones that I have been to, maybe ever. Not only are they clean, but they have a great variety of snacks and drinks, as well as your standard fare for everyday cooking. To me, the star of this place has to be their prepared foods area. Evidently after 8pm, they mark down lots of their prepared food items. From dim sum, to noodles, fried rice and other entrees, you can score plenty of items for $4-6 which were normally 2-3x that. I felt like a kid in a candy store and began snatching and hording all the things. I had to stop and remind myself we were on vacation, and would be living out of hotels for the next few days, so I limited myself to just a handful of items. We got some noodles, fried rice and dumplings, which we would end up eating for breakfast over the next few days. While nothing was mind blowing per se, the food was solid and certainly economical. If I lived in this area, I could see myself coming here on the regular just for the prepared foods. OVERALL - almost wish I hadn't come to this place, so I'd never knew what I was missing.
