3-item combo = $12
Andrei A.

Their 3-item combo for $12 is unbeatable. You get a choice of rice, noodles or veggies and 2 options of protein. I usually get black pepper beef, chicken wings, and rice noodles with beef. They also carry mangoes from Brazil, Dominican Republic and Colombia - something that's very difficult to find in any other supermarket.

This Nations Fresh is not as cool as the location in Mississauga, in my opinion. It's older, smaller, and not as clean, and the food court does not have as many offerings. Nonetheless, it is still a cool grocery store that carries items from around the world. They have items from the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, the Orient, and so much more. Their food court offerings though are only from Asia. Prices are really good at the food court. You can get a 2 item combo with rice or noodles, and a soup (hot and sour or wonton) for $6.99. I tried the Black Pepper Beef, Honey Garlic Chicken with Yeung Chow fried rice and wonton soup. The soup was lukewarm, which I didn't like, but the actual wontons weren't bad. The fried rice had lots of shrimp and pork in it, in addition to carrots, corn and peas. The black pepper beef was tender. The honey garlic chicken wasn't as crispy as I like, but that's the norm for prepared breaded and fried dishes. These items are not made to order, but rather premade like at places like Manchu Wok, Shanghai 360, etc. The portion was huge. I shared this with my mom. There's no way I would have finished it by myself (and I'm a hearty eater, believe me, lol). My dad got the BBQ combo with BBQ Pork and Peking Duck on steamed white rice for $5.99. The portion was quite generous as well, and my dad enjoyed it. I didn't have any, but he said it was good. The parking lot was pretty busy, but there are lots of spots.

Nations Fresh Food does have a wide varieties of products all under one roof! Great fun to browse around and see what's there as it carries a lot of items that are not available at T&T or Foody Mart that I usually frequent. For the hot food area or food court, nothing much interested me as there are definitely better options as other Asian grocery stores I been to. But for the Vaughan area, Nations Fresh Food provides the neighbourhood with affordable, fresh and a lot of varieties of Asian products!

Walked by this place a while ago and thought it's a place to check out when hungry or need groceries... Today, my partner in crime and i had a case of the hangries and also needed groceries. Delicious ready to consume or grocery type items at a good cost and quality. Plus exotic varietals everywhere with better quality than Dundas Spadina area. The line up for cash register was a test of patience, but where don't you have to wait in line to pay? It is easy to park at The Stockyards. Very American styled shopping area. Nations is my new favourite everything food shop. I probably shouldn't have shared that because now it will be even busier. Ah!

I needed to pick up a few grocery items, so dropping by Food World Supermarket afterwards was perfect. This building used to Rose Garden Banquet and Convention. I'm guessing that due to the pandemic, this business suffered and shut down. There is plenty of parking in front and around this supermarket. I backed into a spot and walked in. The doors automatically open, which is wonderful. This supermarket is located across from Burger King. I often frequent it when I crave a flame-broiled burger. Both are in the same plaza as Wok of Asia. It's clean and cheerful when you first walk in. You see cases of pop and sparking water. The produce section then greets you. I needed avocados and celery. Prices are either comparable to what you see at grocery stores like No Frills, but the quality is better. Both produce items that I grabbed were fresh and in great condition. This grocery store carries halal items. It features a lot of South Asian products, such as Parle-G and paratha. You also see ramen and Ribena, both of which made me love shopping at this store even more. I saw everything from custard to paneer. It does sell corned beef in cans and rose water in glass bottles. Cool! The meat section is impressive. It's huge with every cut of meat that you can possibly think of. You can get food to go. There's a stall within the supermarket where you can get pizza, shawarma, and more. I paid for my produce. The woman at the checkout was extremely pleasant and nice. I paid with my debit card. This store gives you a plastic bag. I thanked her and headed to the exit. Just before you exit, there's a stall that sells desserts, ice cream, drinks, and more. I asked the woman behind the counter whether their drinks have added sugar. They don't. The store goes with the natural sweetness of their fruit or veggies. I wanted to get the sugar cane and coconut hydrating beverage. She had run out of coconut, so I got a large sugar cane drink. As she made my drink, I looked at the desserts display. There were individual portions of chocolate mousse cake and sponge cakes. You can also get milkshakes, ice cream, and more. She asked whether I wanted ice in my sugar cane drink. I said as much as the cup could fit the ice. It was perfect on a hot day. I asked the nice woman how long this supermarket has been open for. It opened on May 18th. I paid with my debit card. Done! I thanked the woman and left with my groceries and drink. The sugarcane was indeed the real deal. It was naturally sweet and yummy. I was happy with my drink. It was nice consuming it as I drove home. Whenever I was in the area to grab some dinner, there was never a supermarket close by to get a few grocery items. It's definitely more convenient now thanks to this Food World. (174)

I was going to a Yelp elite event recently and had a bit of time to spare. I needed to get some celery and popped by this Longo's, which happens to be steps away from where the event was. It hit me that I drank too much hot tea at work and my bladder needed some attention. This store has two washrooms. The one that I visited was clean and nicely stocked. I then hit the produce aisle. Sure, prices at Longo's tend to be higher than at No Frills. However, the produce is super fresh at this store. It took my breath away. It was almost as if a produce photo shoot was about to happen, but it's really how it looks daily. The craziest discovery was looking at the huge brussel sprouts at this store. It's like someone fed them steroids. I held one on my hand and it felt like I was about to change a light bulb. It was insanely huge! I was admiring the Daiya line of dairy-free cheezecakes. I also loved seeing my beloved Portuguese egg tarts at the bakery. Some specialty items included parm crisps. If you don't have time to make your own, you have two varieties at this store to pick up and enjoy. I also had fun looking at Holy Crap breakfast cereal. Although it was priced at $11 a bag, I polled a few of my friends, including one of my interns, who all said that it's delicious. I love when I learn about a product and it ends up being yummy! The cashier was great. I paid for my celery and happily walked out with it to my car. It was nice being back at this grocery store. I need to visit it more often. It's awesome. (86)

Coppa's seems to be a local grocery chain with only three locations nearby Toronto - North York, Scarborough and King City. The aisles are wide, the space is clean, fruits, vegetables, meat seem fresh and produce neatly stacked together. They have a huge butcher section, bakery aisle, prepared foods and more. It was not busy at all Sunday late afternoon. Many times it felt like a private grocery shopping experience. Unlike Chinatown, Walmart, Costco and other chains, where sometimes you would feel like your groceries are all picked on. The prices are moderate and pretty reasonable overall. I mostly purchased fresh produce so didn't notice the prices of the packaged goods. They don't tend to stock inhouse cheap brands, like No Name and Great Value but all moderate priced brands. There seem to be deals to be had like broccoli and flour on sale. The 2.5kg Robinhood flour bag was cheaper than even Walmart. I would've wanted a 5kg bag but it was sold out. Though I would say the butter was quite expensive, $7 was the cheapest option, and it was their own Coppa-branded butter, which was just one block, not even divided into sticks. The next alternative is $8 for premium Country-churned with pre-packaged sticks. Was a bit of a splurge for two blocks. I wonder if I would be able to taste the difference between cheap and expensive butter. If I'm in the area again I'll like to try their baked goods next.
