It's a plus for me because it's very close to my house. The store is very big and shelves are being continuously stocked up. There is always staff around to help and the atmosphere is quiet and people often come with their families to shop here. This is a pretty big Asian grocery store, there's lots of product and it's pretty aesthetic. There's a hot food section, bakery, and beauty section. I'm leaving a negative review as the service was subpar. I was going to purchase a mango drink, it was on promotion for $2.99. Once I was cashing out the product was scanned as 3.99. I told the staff the sign said it was 2.99 and they took a very long time to price check. They searched a different section of the store and claimed it was 4.99. I only had 2 items to purchase and they cashed 3 customer while I waited. I told them two times that I found the product near the entrance, and it took them so long. The cashier tried to say my picture of the promotion was invalid since they changed the price. Mind you, I took the picture at 3:30pm and I cashed out around 4pm. It was less than one hour. I was getting frustrated since I waited for almost 20 minutes just to check out for two items. The cashier told me that they cannot honor the price, so I told her to leave it. Another staff finally came back and said it was ok, so I ended up buying it. Honestly this left a sour note, luckily I took a picture of the product and pricing. This Asian Grocery store is massive with plenty of great finds. Their Fruit Section has an excellent selection of fruits, including imported and tropical favourites such as soursop, durian & custard apples AKA ATIS! If you get hungry while shopping, make sure to stop by their Hot Food Section, where you can get freshly prepared meals such as flat noodles, beef brisket, dim sum, and more. The place is bright, clean and the staff are helpful especially when you're looking for some hard to find items. Check out their diverse selection of snacks ( they have my Filipino favourites!) This is a giant Asian supermarket that is similar to the newer Asia Foodmart. Huge selection of grocery items and produce with a hot foods, bakery and beauty section. The bakery section could be improved. There is only a partial door that does not fully close for the buns and we saw a fly inside that landed on a bun which deterred us from trying any of their buns. read more

I have to give foody world a 1 star. For the price of each dim sum dish at $3.99, you expect Sui Mai to be at least 4 pcs. Instead I only got 3. Yet Har Gow is 4 pcs. I called the customer service line to complain and woman says it's normally 3 and sometimes when it's special you get 4. I don't believe what's said maybe it was to get me off the phone. I don't hang out at Kennedy Commons as much as I used to. AMC went away. Markham got a Kitchen Stuff Plus. I should, though. I love Chapters. Sunset Grill, Jollibee, and Kinton Ramen are nearby. I have another reason to resurrect my visits here: Foody Mart. I recent dropped by to visit CoCo. It's in Foody Mart. I have never been to this Foody Mart location before. It's nice. It's clean. It's big. I dig it. After grabbing my drink, I walked through the supermarket. The grab-and-go foods are amazing. I love the sushi section. You have sushi, sashimi, gyoza, and even rice dishes. Impressive! I gravitated towards deep-fried pork. I probably did because I have never seen that before as a packaged item. I liked the selection of hot foods. You can get dim sum or main dishes, depending on your appetite. My eyes went directly to the banh mi section. It's cool seeing all sandwiches hermetically sealed in a pile. Just grab, buy, and eat. You can also construct your own sandwiches, as it sells all ingredients for your super banh mi creations. I personally buy the cha chien and can eat that all day. I also like the tubs of Vietnamese mayonnaise. So good! I saw cool items such as having your own hotpot in a prepackaged container. It's all about convenience these days. Nagoya Village is beautiful. It's like its own little oasis in this supermarket. All Japanese goodies are in this area. Yay, Pocky! I do love this Foody Mart. I was looking for Lunar New Yard cards, which seem difficult to find this year. I found many lucky red envelopes, but perhaps no one gives actual cards anymore. I noticed there were many decorations for the Lunar New Year, but the prices were higher. This isn't my go-to for groceries, but if I'm in the area and in need, it's a good stop. The store is huge, so if you're not familiar with the layout, it can take a while to find what you're looking for. Prices are okay. I haven't tried their seafood or meats, and usually stick to the produce or packaged goods. The lineups are very long. It would be great to see more cashiers. Customer service is on the brisk side, and the parking lot is congested on weekends. I try to shop during the weekdays or off hours. read more

Been going to many grocery stores lately, this store has everything is you're into Asian cooking. The price is also very reasonable, for example, the meat department offer good prices on beef shank. The store itself is well clean and bright. Lots of young couples shop here. You can also get your bubble tea fix at the Coco, located inside the store. The parking is somewhat crowded, personally, I like wide parking spots. This place is also huge, Foody world is a fitting name for this supermarket. Anyhow pros: large area for takeout food and bakery, parking is good and location is convenient Cons: charged me a dollar to chop it. Also very reluctant to give me sauce on the side. He basically told me he should charge me. They don't disinfect their carts. Duck was over cooked. Duck is fatty and juicy. This was definitely not juicy! If you looking for some quick premade food - dropping by at food worldy is nice and quick. Good deal premade variety sushi sets as low as $4.99 and they have a good array of bakery buns and sweets. They also have an aisle dedicated to Japanese snacks which is where I found a good selection of kitkat from Japan and their mochi. The parking lot is a big size lot and always busy. Going on the late evenings is best on a weekday to avoid long queues. read more

The store smells like a warning. Hot counter is unkempt but we were feeling brave. If you like food that tastes heavily like old fish you'll love it! I really couldn't go through with it. After several bites of fishy food I put a mostly full box in the trash and called it a lesson. I can still taste the fish. Not an experience that will be repeated. When I get word from friends to check out a large Asian supermarket, the feedback from the advance scouting was enough to invoke a self-confirmation of the information. My Taiwanese girlfriend was especially excited that her favourite foods were stocked at this huge store. First, this is a huge store and decorated to look even larger using colours and lighting. There is an order to the middle sections; it is by nationalities including Turkish, Korean, Taiwanese and Japanese. Intermixed within the whole store are products made in China but disguised as Korean for example. Read the labels and hopefully you will find out the true source of the items you're considering to buy (if that's important to you). As this was our first time here, we turned in into an adventure of 2.5 hours walking throughout the whole store. We kept comparing prices in our minds with T&T plus C&C supermarkets. I loved the fresh seafood area, the food court and the CoCo bubble tea outlet. The prices are very competitive and checkout was efficient. You might not be aware but the music piped throughout Foody World was upbeat and fairly loud which probably added to our great shopping experience! read more

RATING FOR PREMADE PREPACKAGED SUSHI: Hubby and I went to visit a friend and his family but we didn't have time to stay long. Our sweet friend gave us a container of premade, prepackaged sushi as a to-go snack after our visit. I eyed the sushi warily because I've never bought premade, prepackaged sushi because I don't trust the freshness. This sushi, however, looked really fresh: the colors were vibrant, there was no fishy smell (yes I smelled the whole tray) and it looked very appetizing. Hubby and I tried every single one with a drizzle of soy sauce, a little bit of wasabi and a sliver of the pickled ginger (don't like the taste of pickled ginger by itself). It was surprisingly delicious. Everything tasted fresh, the veggies were crisp and the rice was still soft. The only one I didn't like was the maki with the nori on the outside; the nori was rubbery and chewy. Now I know where to go to pick up fresh sushi if I'm on the run (Tuesday 4pm). read more

I held the misconception that Chinese supermarket is generally cheaper than Canadian ones when it comes to most items. Turns out I'm mistaken - a lot of them aren't that competitive when it comes to pricing anymore. To make things worse, if you have a problem with your purchase it's not as easy to get your problem resolved. T&t may be an exception.. End of my rant This so called foody world is actually just another member of its foody Mart family-look at the plastic bags they give you! It's much cleaner and brighter. Could be a lot of fun shopping here. Price can be okay. But like I said, it's hardly the best for me. They do have a lot of exotic fruit which is pretty cool. They never had a food court when it opened up. Now they added one - unfortunately its pretty much hit or miss. Cold soup chewy meat.. All happened to me.. Staff actually been doing a good job during the pandemic. Mask is required to enter the store and social distance is enforced. I need to give them credit for that This should have been a three star review.. BUT..... Their bbq pork section has prepared ready to eat packages. They don't taste bad. I've been going to Foody World every now and then for groceries for years since they opened. It used to be a Rona store. They've renovated and expanded after a few years of opening. The deals used to be really good when they first opened and now there's fewer deals. I was really not happy with my recent experience there. Yesterday evening I got 2 lbs of chicken drumsticks from the meat counter. When I went to open the bag to prepare the drumsticks it smelt rancid. I threw out the whole bag of chicken. The receipt says no refund on poultry. Watch out for unfresh meat/poultry there. read more

I purchased the cold noodle on May 17. The best before date on the package says "May 18"and the food was packed on May 13. When i open the wrap, i saw some discoloration on the noodles, obviously it has gone bad, and it smells disgusting. read more

Cheap goods but not the freshest food in the hot foods section.I wouldn't recommend getting the fried rice as it is very hard and the "meat " in the cumin chili chicken was mainly cartilage covered in seasoned batter lool. Can you get any cheaper than this ffs .. The sushi is pretty decent for the price so I'll most likely be back lol. Good selection of pastry buns available both in sweet and savoury flavors . Outfitted with a Coco's bubble tea in the store, as well as an overpriced Asian cosmetics, and skin/hair care / beauty products section. Foody World just had their Grand Opening today, November 8, 2016. For its first day, the store is clean, really organized, huge selection of Japanese, Korean, and Filipino foods. Fresh produce, large meat and seafood counters. They have fresh Tim Hortons coffee to enjoy while you shop or before you leave. I wanted to check their Filipino foods section, and was amazed at how cheap some of the Filipino snacks I always get. Polvoron is $1.99 when Hong Tai or Farm Fresh have them for $2.29. Their Stik-O is also cheap at 2 for $5. They have really good deals! Their bakery section, however is a bit on the small side, they do not sell large cakes. I spent over $40 and was given a free calendar, which is nice. Though they have a vast selection, I believe that Foody Mart at Warden and Bamburgh Circle might still be bigger than Foody World. I came today which is the second day it's been opened. It's clean and has all the Asian groceries you'd expect at a grocery store. The produce there seems fresher than the other Foody's but it could be because it's new. The bakery section is quite small and same for the fast food section (sushi boxes etc). Despite how big the place looks from the outside, the grocery store is quite small inside. The Foody at Bamburgh Circle is much bigger I believe. Prices are the same as the other Foody and same end of day discounts on sushi boxes. This location actually closes at 10pm everyday, not 9pm as listed here. Overall, not a bad place to shop. Prices are great, location is great and best of all, plenty of cashiers and shorter lines (for now). read more

Big store. Fairly clean. Selection is pretty good. If I recall correctly, their dried mangoes (in the bulk section) are $4.99/lb, and are quite tasty. Meat section is slightly sketchy, like most other Chinese grocery stores. Frozen hot pot meat was fairly cheap and wasn't quite as sketch as their fresh stuff. Ready made food is not really a thing here, unless you're thinking bakery or iffy looking sushi at the back. They also have a small bubble tea stand in the back. Kinda strange location for it though. As part of their opening promotions, there was a prize wheel to play if you bought something. Funny thing about it was the randomness of the prizes. One of the prizes was not one, but two phone cases. I spun and got, for one spin, two sets of fake Disney children's cutlery. Decent quality though. I wouldn't mind dropping by if I was in the area, but I wouldn't make the trek out here for groceries. read more

This place used to be my go-to grocery store. They have really good deals, their prices are great (especially for Filipino snacks) but I find their selection to be pretty limited for a big store. Their produce section is always fresh and neat. I love when they have games to win prizes and goods on special occasions. However, every time I buy fresh meat here I get the worst customer service experience. Once, I stood by the meat counter waiting for about 5 minutes to be helped as the butcher was busy. He saw a the guy who just came beside me and they started speaking in Chinese. He was able to make customized cuts to his meats. When it was my turn, I wanted to get pork belly but for it to be cut in cubes. When I requested, he began to say no repeatedly and got annoyed. And I asked why not, he said we don't do that here. After that incident, it's always been the same crappy service in the back of the store. So, now I just go to bestco. read more

I was trying to grab some plastic bags to place produce in. The ones in the fish department are sturdier. I prefer to grab a bunch at once and the employee gets up in my face and starts yelling at me. Trying to give me a tutorial to grab one bag at a time. The grocery part of this store is really amazing. Lots of fresh fruit and veggie options, and the meat quality is bar none the best. This has become my go-to place for salmon and beef, be it steaks or stewing meats. It's also got fantastic variety. I've discovered half a dozen new items that have become favourites (where were you all my life, celtuce). Then there's the sushi bar. It's a tasty, reliable option for whenever I need something in a pinch. They even have well-priced party trays. Been going to them for work-functions. My girlfriend went to Foody World today to buy a crab. She chose a crab and the guy behind the counter there weight it, and told her she had to pay for it, then he will chop it for her. So she paid for it, and went back to the guy to have it chopped. I returned a large bag of nougat candy because it was stale, difficult to chew, was sticking to my teeth and I was afraid my teeth would break. After explaining the problem to the customer service clerk, I asked her for a refund. She did not understand what I was saying because in broken english she was saying things to me that did not make sense. I was getting nowhere. After requesting to speak to the Manager, he soon appeared at the counter and did not acknowledge me at all and was speaking in Cantonese to the clerk. I did not know what was being said and wasn't sure if he understood the problem. I asked if he spoke English and he said, "yes". I explained the problem to him and he looked at me as though I was not telling the truth. I suggested he try a candy and noticed he could not chew it and he spoke a few words in Cantonese to the clerk and walked away without saying a word to me. I was given a refund. I could not believe how rude this man was. I told the clerk that I would not shop in that store again as the Manager was very rude and I did not appreciate being treated that way. read more
