This is my place to get good lunch. I love their prepared food with lots of variety. Sandwich, pizza, soup, salad and sushi. They all made at the spot. Soup can be clam chowder and salad bar has shrimp salad, spinach and other variety to choose from. I picked shrimp as this is 2.99 per 100 grams. It can be just few dollar more to buy a bag of shrimp uncooked. What a deal. I love their sandwich. You may want to get some buns and cut some cold meat to make your own. The sandwich in buns is $6.99. I love the cakes . Especially strawberry shortcake. Not choosing other cakes from other big grocery store. That is the best. I also love to buy steak when it is on sale. The steak is 21 days age and taste different from other place. Tips: buy fresh produce there. Very fresh and good quality and you won't regret. I love Longos largely for their amazing salad bar. This is the best option in the area for grabbing a healthy meal. They have a small bar with chairs near the exit you can sit. The grocery store itself has everything. Although prices tend to be higher than discount grocery stores, you know you can get what you are looking for! read more

Do not shop at this store I will tell you what happened today. I was at the store around 7:30 pm, wearing a mask buying stuff I bought a sushi, a couple ready to eat meals and some snacks The security guard, a tall, Indian guy, saw me and started following me around. I felt uncomfortable but proceeded to self checkout, figure it would be good I bought a wrong card and was in the process of switching my payment card, that was when the security guard came over and accused me of stealing because there was no amount on the screen. I was going to check out Then afterwards one of the store managers, I assume, came over. He's a short white guy. He told me to get out of the store. I asked why. He yelled some racial slurs at me, like calling me a chink I told him he was way out of the line with the language. He proceeded to call me a piece of shit, fucking garbage and swore at me crazy for a good 5 minutes He also told me to get the fuck out of the store, for doing nothing wrong I'm still shaken by this incident and I am strongly considering leaving Canada, as I don't feel welcomed I want to love this country but incidents like this leave a bad taste in my mouth. On my way to a Raptors game, I needed to get something to eat BEFORE going in to the arena and facing their exorbitant prices. Luckily, I stumbled upon Longo's, nearby. I trust their food and value from past experiences at other locations. This one seems to have a lot to offer. Their prepared foods counter and salad bar have a lot of selections to choose from. Lots! After much consideration, I decided to have a small salad and a meatball sandwich. The sandwich bun was huge, way too big for my liking and disproportionate to the filling, also a bit dry. I only ate the top half. The meatballs, however, had a decent flavour, especially with the mushrooms and cheese garnishes. They were a good size and quite filling. I usually get carried away at salad bars and fill my plate, or in this case, my container. I exercised restraint and managed to get just a small salad to go with my sandwich. In addition to some veggies, I got some surimi, the fake crab meat. That turned out to be a bit on the dry side. Overall, I've had better food at other Longo's locations. I would have thought the high traffic going through this location would have resulted in a higher turnover and fresher food. It wasn't terrible, just not as fresh as I expected. read more

One of my favorite grocery store in the heart of Toronto when I come and visit. Located at the bottom floor this location is kept really clean and the staff is always willing to assist. The store is easy to navigate around and prices are reasonable. Longo's reminds me of a Wegmans or Whole Foods. They have a great hot food bar, pizza station, deli and bakery packed with fresh baked goods. I stop by here sometimes when my family and I are looking for quick re heart menu items. They feature daily specials from Tuesday Maki boats to Thursday pizza by the slice promos. Overall, this is a great location if you're right in the city. The place is hopping with jersey clad madmen and women who are stuffing their faces to save a few bucks so they can afford the $$$ to buy $15 beer. You can get almost anything here. Pizzas, salads, hot table, cold bar, Starbucks, beer and wine bar, .... yeah...lots. Save yourself the heartburn of crappy Arena Food and eat great at Longo's before the game. Oh my goodness. This market alone almost made me want to move to Toronto and live in the Maple Leaf Square Building. The salad bar and hot breakfast was worth the multiple visits alone. I was quite surprised at how reasonable the prices of fresh fruit was. I also had to make an emergency stop at the pharmacy for items like soap and the prices were about the same as here. But the fresh food! There were so many options for hot meals, sushi combos, and deserts galore. The store could be confusing at times as it's a lot bigger than it looks. And the placing of the cash registers didn't make sense. But I loved the elevator and that it was right downstairs from the condo I stayed in. If I were a single person living in Toronto, I'd be at this market everyday just for those breakfast sausages. Four stars - because service was a little slow during peak times. One of my favorite grocery stores in Toronto! I love the fact that you can get freshly baked bread here. They actually bake it specially for you, while you shop. Just be prepared to wait about 20 minutes for that. I usually order fresh bread right when I arrive, shop and wander around the store for about 20 minutes, and then go and pick up my hot bread. The best part. They also have fresh coffee, tea - so you can sample those in the meantime. I also like their selection of vegetables and fruits but they lack some fancier staff like chocolate sauces, caramel sauces, Dulce de Lecce, and some canned goods. Also the parking is not free, unless you spend over $20, but the store is pretty pricey so you will likely spend more than that (unless you came just for bread!). read more

I will say that if I were a local, I would shop elsewhere for better pricing less crowds, and the ability to drive (to shop for more quantity). I feel legitimately sad for the people who live in the condos around this Longo's and have nowhere else to shop at. You're all getting taken advantage of, and you don't even realize it. Visually, this is an undeniably impressive supermarket. Then you start rooting around, and realize that you can't find what you want because everything is all over the place. Sandwiches are in three different locations. Overpriced food that's at least a good $2-3 more expensive than other Longo's locations in the GTA. A confusing checkout system where people have no problem butting in line to get ahead. I came here with my friends to grab a drink and a sandwich while waiting to go into a Jays game, and was offput by the place. How bad does it have to be that even the connected Starbucks is closed because their coffee machines don't work? That might be a first. $8 sandwiches that looked like they'd been sitting out for days? $4 water? I wasn't even in the Rogers Centre yet, and I was already feeling the pinch. At least the cashier was semi-friendly, and riding up and down the escalator into the place is kind of amusing. I wouldn't go back, though. There are a number of smaller supermarkets near here (especially on Spadina) that have cheaper products and won't break your budget. When I walked in I was ready to get bowled over by overpriced under sized portions of groceries. But you know what? I was pleasantly surprised! Now, that's not to say you can't ring up a $200 grocery bill in a hurry and there aren't some high priced items here, but generally I find the store's prices to be quite reasonable. Here's some highlights/lowlights: LOW: - Hot lunch buffet is very pricey. Got a chicken leg, three potato pieces and some white rice (not a lot) and with a drink and tax it was a shade under $18 which is a rip off HIGHS: - Pizza is made fresh for you and a personal one costs a bit over $10, which is quite reasonable - Great selection of high-end pastas from Molisanna and Deleverde. Also has a good sauce selection as well as cheese and meats - French fries and perogies very fairly priced and store brands taste great - Rotisserie chicken is $11.95 and delicious Overall a great store. I went to Longo's in search of chocolate to take back to Cali. Not only did I find chocolate, I found a solid grocery store with a vast selection of food items! If you want a comparison, it's like a Whole Foods store. Although, I think Whole Foods might be a tad better. I came from the York St as I stayed at the Delta Toronto a block or two away. As I go down the escalator, I suddenly feel like a little kid going down the escalator to the toy area in a department store. I see rows upon rows of delicious, and different, food items. Aside from the standard fare you will find at your local grocery store, they have specialty items, a deli, a place for ready made food, and of course, a bakery. Right or wrong, I can sometimes judge a supermarket just by looking at the quality of their baked goods. Well, not only was the selection huge, but the freshness seemed evident (caveat: I didn't buy anything from the bakery). Luckily for me, I was able to control myself and didn't buy anything aside from the Coffee Crisp and Mr. Big candy bars to take back. However, it's good to know that if I ever come back to watch a Raptors or Blue Jays game, I have a place to buy some grub to take back to the hotel. That's if I can refrain from buying hot dogs from one of the 212 hot dog vendors in the 3 block area!! read more

Finally have time to write this. I come here often to grab lunch as I work nearby. They are located in the basement level by the building that houses a TD Canada Trust branch. Once you reached the escalators, you see a wide open area with lots of food choices. So first thing I see is the salad bar and hot food bar. Choices here aren't bad honestly. At least I can choose what I am eating instead of choosing something from the food court. Furthermore, they got a prepared food line up. So one can get pizzas or sandwiches. That's not bad honestly. If you don't fancy to go back to the office to eat, the Longo's here got a good seating area, like a big canteen. They got a Starbucks here too, just a head's up. For the groceries part, I've bought fruits from them and they are quite fresh. No complaints here. Overall, not bad at all. read more

Longo's! Visited twice while in town for the weekend and instantly became a fan. Huge store, well laid out and clean! Reminded me in many ways of a Whole Foods with its extensive bakery section and prepared foods. There weren't as many checkout lanes as I would have expected for a grocery store downtown but that wasn't a big deal. Prices for the items we picked up were on point with anything we'd spend in the States - 2 liter bottle of Ginger Ale was about $1.25, 5 pack of croissants was $4.99 (both CAD). I imagine I'd shop here often if I lived in downtown Toronto. read more

To be honest when I heard of Longos hitting downtown. I didn't think it would make such a big splash. (I've shopped at Longos in the suburbs). However this downtown design concept of 'fresh and trendy' appeals with the young professionals that frequent this spot. Just coming down the escalators one can get a sense of this urban grocery with quick glance. Under the reveal though , in terms of pure selection, it's actually not that extensive in my opinion. It's alright. There's nothing really stand out in any of the departments where I MUST SHOP AT LONGOS for this. Trendy things are; the cooking class station, the pre-made meals/sandwiches, the smorgasbord board of prepared foods, Starbucks, the wood fire pizza section, and a sushi stop. Though it may not have the greatest selection of items, it's good store though and fulfills its target market. it is the best grocery in the immediate area. read more

I am updating this review as they have a separate entry for the bar/pub under corks. This review applies for the store section of Longos. This space is huge almost 45K sqft. The staff is friendly and usually will take you to the aisle instead of pointing towards it if you are trying to find something. The prices are a tad bit higher but in line with the competition i.e. Sobeys, Metro and Loblaws. What sets them apart is they have an amazing cheese selection and very knowledgeable staff there. I will review each section separately as I have shopped here enough to form a decent opinion: Cheese/Cold Cuts etc. I had some friends over and was preparing a cheese course for them, problem solved, all I had to do was go to the cheese counter and pick up a prepared cheese plate (2 options 1 for 10$ other for 15$) It had a selection 5 cheeses as I went for the bigger plate. It was decent size and could serve 5-6 people easily for a cheese course. Other gem I found was cheese that was infused with merlot just amazing. The Staff went out of their way to help me (mind you it was in the early hours of the morning so they were not as busy) I picked up some fresh cream and bonicini cheeses both were very good. Smoked salmon a bit expensive and are awesome as well full marks here for this section. They always a lot of samples for cheese so you can try before you buy. Meat: The prices are a bit higher but the quality is good. The items when they are on special bring it inline with the reigning champion IMO Costco! I have picked scallops here and they were very nice so was wild caught snapper. Steaks have ranged from good to OK. They do sell Australian Wagyu if you wanna splurge. I have bought Caviar from here as well and it was very fresh. They sell some hard to find items such as fresh whole ducks, duck fat, Organic meats,sausages etc. Very High Marks as well. Produce: I am not big on produce but it has always been great here whenever I bought stuff. Limes are the best value as they are priced very well. Mushroom section is very good with excellent selection and proper paper bags for storing them are free. You are paying good money in this section unless it is on special so one would expect good quality. Coffee Beans they have a nice island which has lot of selection for coffee beans and usually they have samples as well. Some are very exotic (I am talking about Kupi Luwak here folks) and the best part is you can buy a small sample to try. Pricey but good variety. Breads: For an Italian place the bread I expected this area to shine but its nothing spectacular. Good variety but nothing outstanding: Desserts: This is their weakest area IMO as their in house desserts are lacking. They do carry the standard dufflet fare but I would expect something better for this kind of store. Definitely needs an improvement. Cleaning Supplies Drinks etc. This area is pricey as expected they do have nice variety of Italian items such as Brio etc. Cleaning supplies pricey as well. Prepared Food: They have a huge buffet style food section which targets the lunch and dinner crowd. Lunch is very busy dinner is acceptable. Daily specials on weekdays all for $7.99. The one's that standout are the whole roast Chicken and 16" Pizza. The buffets section is very pricey and you can end up paying almost sit in places prices so need to watch out. Nice dining area very laid back with nice TV's and comfortable sofas. Definitely a unique spaces Obligatory flower shop which seems decent. We have a winner on hand here folks this is the grocery store to beat in downtown. read more

Great delivery service during covid challenges. Online store is brilliant and completes all your groceries/personal products needs. Delivery charges are a little bit high but the service is right on time, invoice is included and they fulfilled both my orders almost perfectly. 2 items were missing and not charged as I selected "no substitute product". Super cute grocery store. Hubs and I were in town for vacay. Our Airbnb was right below Longo's. Talking about convenient! We absolutely loved having easy access to this grocery store. I loved being able to go down and get fresh fruit whenever I wanted. Rarely do I like to buy lots of fruit at once because I don't want it to go bad. But as convenient as this was, it made it easy to go daily. Also, in between meals we were able to run and get a snack as well. Store is super clean. The cashiers were friendly. Very organized. A separate Starbucks inside as well as parking access to the parking garage where we stashed our vehicle for the baseball game today . Pretty darn good stuff they have here. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for and I really don't think I've seen such a wide selection of offerings (veges, fruit, meats, seafood etc.) at the salad bar. Everything was fresh and well presented. They also have pizza, other cooked western food, sushi corner, multipack pastries eg muffins and other snacks like peanut butter chocolate covered pretzel snacks imported from the states. Also a wide selection of in house made sandwiches, even a lobster sandwich. While staying at the Fairmont this was my goto lunch/ snack spot. The pre-made sushi was actually pretty decent. They also have a dinning area to eat your purchases and next to that are starbucks and a frozen yogurt joint. read more

What a great little grocery tucked away in the middle of the busy city. We stopped in after hitting up the LCBO to see if we needed any goodies to take back to our hotel room. The selection of good was impressive that they packed it was packed into this little store. We were able to find some sweet treat to enjoy later that night, but stayed a little bit to browse around.
