I really like this location at College and Bay. And I've loved Farm Boy muffins for many years especially their banana chocolate muffins! Their muffins now come in two sizes and I recently enjoyed their huge, heavenly Chocolate Chunk muffins! I heat them up so the chocolate chips are deliciously hot and gooey. I saw in the ingredients there was buttermilk and I think that added to the blissful taste! I also tried their Country Round Bread for the first time and loved it as much as their great organic sourdough. It's so delicious toasted and with chunks of creamy cold, grass-fed butter! And I liked that the bread ingredients were short and simple. The cashier section can get crowded but the staff is friendly and the ambiance is usually pleasant. read more

I'm here in Toronto on business for a few days and I'm tired of eating out. I just want Trader Joe's and if not that something with a similar vibe - Farm Boy fits the bill. What a great selection of "Made in Canada" produce, nuts, grains, poutine, baked goods, cheese curds and other incredible options. Shop here often. You can find good deals here. Produce is always fresh (they do have a cart of older produce not gone bad, cheap, good finds) The quality of their products is excellent, especially their own FB Brands. Can be pricey but I don't over shop and buy just what I need. Bake goods are fresh. The Food Bar is fresh, delicious with lots of choices. After visiting Ottawa recently, I discovered Farm Boy and I was so surprised to find this grocery store in Toronto. Everything is so fresh here from fruits to meats to baked goods! They even have their own products like potato chips, baked goods and a big selection of prepared food which looks really good but I haven't tried it yet. Became my go to place since this location is very close to my work. Their staffs are very well trained. Never had any bad service after 10 + visits. Whenever I cannot find certain items they take me to where they are or inform me if they are out of stock. Casher service is also very excellent! There was one time they over charged me by accident, full refund was processed right away. So far Farm Boy brand I enjoyed are - Various Perogies - Everything Thin Square Buns - Famous Cruffies - Sweet Potato Chips - Gnocchi - Italian sausage meatballs - Maple BBQ pulled pork - Fruit & Vegetable Wash Will add more to the list in the future! read more

I've often been to the Farm Boy locations in Ottawa, so I'm especially happy to see this lovely addition to the Bay-College area! I love that many of the products are the store label; I got everything from scallops to artisanal chips to eggs to lemon squares, all in the Farm Boy brand. The store is clean and well-laid out, and I'm so excited to shop my way through their products. Also, I'm writing this in the midst of the COVID second wave, so you should know that their cashiers and cleaning staff are all on point! I felt very safe. A fellow yelper (Lambert P.) had my family and I over to his place for lunch a couple years ago, where he introduced us to burgers from Farm Boy. We were hooked from that day on! I suspect it's because they use a fattier type of ground beef (medium) than what I usually buy when I make homemade burgers. We love the caramelized onion and Swiss, bacon cheddar, jalapeño jack and turkey kale varieties. This location doesn't have a meat counter but they do carry the burgers pre-packaged (only a few types though, from what I saw today-- I'm curious to find out if they rotate). You have to know your prices when you shop at a place like this. Today I got a bunch of kale for $1.25 and a huge beautiful head of romaine lettuce for $2.49. Last week at no frills I paid $1.99 and $3.79 respectively, and the quality wasn't as good as what I received from Farm Boy today. So the prices on *some* things are reasonable. If you keep your eye on their weekly flyer you can walk away with a few things without feeling completely fleeced. I've enjoyed the salad bar at other Farm Boy locations in the past (Ottawa and Lakeshore/Leslie) and hope to enjoy the one at this location once Covid is behind us. Oh, and the hot soup too. So good... I worked in this area for almost 10 years so can remember what the Sobey's was like. I think this is a good replacement-- it's nice to have a "higher end" option. Farmboy is great for the convenience! It's also extremely clean and less crowded than the Metro in College Park. While both have similar basic groceries, I'm a fan of Farmboy's in-house baked goods, especially their bread. It's smaller portioned and better for someone who lives on their own! Also they have a wider selection of healthy food such as oat milk, kefir, crackers and cookies that are not super processed. I hope they will have more specials on fruits and veggies though because they always seem to be at regular price compared to Metro. The other downside is that there is no points system so you never get to redeem $$ for groceries like Metro. I end up splitting my groceries between Metro and Farmboy because of that. read more

This is the newest addition to the fast growing grocery chain (I believe Sobeys bought them out hence the replacement for the Urban Fresh store that was here before). Well color me not impressed! IMO this is an inferior take on Trader Joe's from the south and this location being smaller doesn't have the variety to boot that made the other location I visited recently acceptable. The layout has changed a bit (compared to the urban fresh that I regularly shopped) with an area focused towards prepared food. The rest of the merchandise isn't a step up from Sobeys Urban Fresh that occupied this space in terms of variety. They have some private labeled stuff so that might appeal to you. The prices are what they are for this kind of store but there is plenty of competition nearby that will give them a run for their money. Hmm I think this is a middling addition to the grocery store in this highly competitive area especially this neighbourhood with even a flag ship store nearby. read more

The customer service at the 777 Bay St is horrible. I went to the 8 items or less line and there weren't even any cashiers. When a girl did arrive she didn't look at me, apologize or even say hello. Another time I frequented the location, the cashier (a full grown woman), threw a tantrum over the previous customers' attitude and stormed off. My favourite North American grocery store of all time. Much of their Farm Boy brand items turned out to be the best of its type. Some of the best items I've tried this year include their peach kefir, chocolate almond truffles, fresh picked in the summer, and Fattoush chips. At first I was hesitant abt going in bc it looked to be like another Sobeys (expensive but not that great). Good thing I gave it a shot bc they have very fresh produce & meat at very decent prices. There are a greater variety of vegetables that I like at much cheaper prices than Loblaws. Also did you know that they sell the shortbread cookies that Porter Airline used to give out on their flights? The brand is called Cookie it Up. Absolutely delish. read more

I didn't even know about this supermarket until recently when hubby & I were wandering around College Park area. They've got some good stuff here that I can't find anywhere else. This location is pretty small. Well, it's downtown so space is limited. I find it funny that the two locations of Farm Boy that I know about are near Metro supermarkets too! Are they trying to compete with Metro? Anyway, this location just has the produce section & smaller sections for the other food categories. They do have a hot prepared food area which is made to order now because of covid. The room temperature prepared foods are behind glass. I would come here again to try more of their products. They have their own brand of things like BBQ sauce, etc. read more

Would like to update the review to reflect a great product they sell here: Their "Whole Lotta Chicken Pot Pie" (which differs from their regular chicken pot pie) is amazing and arguably the best chicken pot pie in the city. Somewhat pricey at about $25 CDN for the largest pie size. They also sell non-BPA canned organic vegan soups for a reasonable $2.99 CDN (I tried the Caribbean Bean soup, and the Minestrone soup, both above decent). read more

What a rip off! Everything is massively overpriced. Having been to Trader Joes hundreds of times in many different states, Farm Boy is clearly the Canadian version. The one thing it doesn't manage to copy are the reasonable prices. They seem to have decent offerings but not quite as many cool things as TJs. Unlike Trader Joes, not everything is a "house brand" item. Don't bother buying anything here that you can find at other grocery stores and everything is a couple dollars more, unless you like wasting money. I enjoyed the general ambiance of the store and it's certainly a fun place to shop. But I am very against wasting money so it's a huge no for me. I can't wait until the US border is open again and I can resume my usual trips to Trader Joes again. read more

a lovely, trader joe's-style grocery store with in store brand and name brand products. i always get my produce& health foods from here and the quality is always top notch. one thing though, they definitely do not know how to cook ethnic food. i tried the general tso chicken box from their hot food bar and it was disgusting. however, their salads, soups and other dishes are quite tasty so as long as you avoid their ethnic foods you will have a pleasant experience. apart from that, staff are usually friendly and helpful, and make sure to check the baked goods section for sales! i usually manage to snag a yummy box of cookies for cheap whenever i visit :) read more

The best grocery store in Toronto IMO! Clean, polite, friendly, always stocked with fresh produce and items and easy to navigate. Honest too - I once left my wallet in the store and got it back with no problems, and everything was still in it. Some people say Farm Boy is pricey, but that depends on the items; some are the same price or less than Metro. I avoid the Metro downstairs at Collage Park because it's absolutely the rudest/abusive place to shop. If you value a stress free shopping experience and fresh produce I highly recommend Farm Boy upstairs on the main floor! read more

I browsed their briefly as I had to pick up my daughter from Union station. I am used to TNT. It was very nicely set up and prices were fair compared to major stores. I could not find Yerba Mate which is a strong tea that I like as I was running low . However they had a really nice tea selection there. Their isles were organized so I had no trouble grabbing things I needed. I was only there for about 15 minutes or so and line up to cash out was fairly quick. I would say if I lived in the area it would be a place I would enjoy shopping at. Just very homey. read more

I was really looking forward to this store opening based on word of mouth about Farm Boy and I'm disappointed by what I found. The variety of products is okay, the prices okay I guess....there was nothing particularly tempting. The only appeal was the novelty of being in a store/brand I was unfamiliar with. There was nothing to draw me away from Loblaws or Metro as a main shopping hub and frankly, I preferred the Sobey's that was in the location previously. Was in your store this evening. Capacity was FAR beyond 25% and the cashier line stretched from one end of the store to the other. No social distancing, no handwashing and prices have increased substantially since my last visit. Staff were lovely but a very poor show all around. read more
