The staff are always helpful and friendly. The store always has a calming effect, no flashy decor. I enjoy the variety of foods, and the Farm Boy brand is very good. Produce is always fresh, and while some of the meats are beyond my budget, I can always find something affordable. Ordered chicken stir fry for take out. Watched the girl prepare the vegetables on the grill mixing with chicken; occasionally adding water. Did not add sauce at this point of time. When completed she put the stir fry in a container that already was half full of white rice. She then poured a pre measured container of sauce on top of everything then placed the top on the container. When I got home I poured everything in a mixing bowl then started to eat. The taste was unbelievably awful. Extremely salty and sweet. I ate about half of the serving and threw out what was left. I then glanced at the nutrition label that had been put on the container and was horrified at seeing the sodium content of around 1500 mg, and sugar level of approximately 25mg. I quickly drank 2 large glasses of water to help dilute the sodium. They should have a sign for nutritional values somewhere in the stir fry area. read more

Absolutely love this grocery store. While the produce is excellent and the meat collection is wonderful, it can be on the pricier side. The best part of the experience is the super helpful staff, always there to guide you and going out of their way to help you find the exact item you are looking for. This review is primarily based on the prepared food counters and not the "supermarket " aspect... yet Having tried the smash burger (their take on the hamburger) which was a-ok - I did get the double decker version which came with real cheddar melted on top, grilled onions, your choice of condiments on a nice brioche bun with a side of coleslaw, freshly fried monster kettle chips and a dill pickle for a very reasonable 9.99. The burger was cooked on a flattop, not a grill. The meat was fresh and had good meat flavour but could have used a touch of salt and pepper to make the flavours pop. The coleslaw was a little strong on mustard powder for my tastes and the chips... can I complain they gave me too much? Haha. Seriously, those are some very good chips as they are true slices of russets that are fried to perfection. I also had their slice of cheese pizza on another visit. The size of this "slice" would put many pizza shops small pizza to shame. The crust had a nice body and crunch while the cheese had a nice stringiness and flavour than some of the other shops (mom&pop and franchised ones). The quality of cheese is super generous and if you have any cheese phobias/ intolerance... They have a dairy free option along with a cauliflower crust version too. The food quality here is not knock you socks off amazing but the bang for buck is definitely on the high end of the spectrum. Will definitely need to try out their stir fry next round to gain a better understanding of their spread. read more

While my car was being serviced at the nearby Canadian Tire, we were recommended to check out this recent addition to the plaza. We are very glad we did! At the time of our visit, the grocery store had been open for about one week. Maybe it was a Sunday morning and the store was new, but not too many customers were shopping around. The staff were very pleasant to deal with. We were greeted and helped promptly. Everything was very well stocked -- actually, I felt the produce was overstocked for the amount of customers there. I was surprised how reasonable the prices were. I would say the price point compares to Loblaws or Longo's, and is certainly lower than Whole Foods, but the store feels as high end as a Whole Foods due to the excellent customer service and variety of prepared food offerings. My favourites from the breakfast bar were the potatoes (look dry but taste good!) and frittata. The gender neutral washrooms are spacious and fully accessible, which is always appreciated. All in all, I am very impressed with this grocery store and definitely see myself going back. read more

They have the best oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. At 4.99 a package, you really can't go wrong. I can't live through pandemic without them! Also love their lemon pie, when they carry it. All around very friendly, clean- great produce. They saved me during pandemic last year with the calm and kindness- one man ran around the store trying to find me to get me cheese as I was so distraught and doe-eyed looking at the empty shelves. I was at Farm boy at Leslie and Lakeshore in Toronto yesterday. I was running late with my shopping. And I realized that I wouldn't make it home in time to prepare dinner. So I decided to try some of their hot food items ( self serve). I chose spaghetti with meatballs. I portioned about 1.5 cups of cooked pasta and 3 meatballs. I expected it to be a bit pricey. I paid with my debit card and when I got the receipt I was shocked!! $21.00 For a few noodles costing a few cents and 3 meatballs?? I wouldn't recommend anyone eating there read more

Okay the reason why I stopped going to Loblaws across the street is that they would not pack my grocery with the shopping bags I brought. I shopped at this Farmboy location 3 times with my shopping box. No issues. Today, the cashier did not do that, he just left all all of my shopping scattered between the Interac machine and the back of his workstation. His attitude was neutral, but he definitely more eager to serve the young lady behind me. read more

We have been to Farm Boy a few times since it recently opened. Fruit and vegetables are displayed beautifully. We picked up ready-made food to take home. It was a stir fry. Not good. The vegetables all tasted the same. Thinking it was maybe an off night for the cook we gave it another chance. We had carrot and ginger soup. It was thin and no ginger flavour. Bland. Salad was ok. Finally we tried the butter chicken. It tasted like chicken in tomato sauce with a dash of hot pepper. No curry. Very disappointing. read more

I used to be a fan but not so much any more. I guess due to Covid they are closing at 8 p.m. now. I knew this but did not know that the hot food and salad bar are packed up at 7. From the outside this store wants to be a Whole Foods or Trader Joe's. But the quality of the food does simply not hold up. The bakery section in particular is very disappointing. The Loblaws on the other side of the street has significantly better produce and and overall better selection and similar prices. I'm really not sure who the target audience here is, but it's definitely not me. read more

This was my first and promise you the LAST time I will step into that mess of a store! It's to look bad because it's in my neighborhood but I will be sticking with Loblaws! Where the staff are pleasant and helpful! Farmboy had very little selection ex yogurt eggs and rice etc. The staff tried to help but were not knowledgeable whenever I asked a question they couldn't answer it or had to ask the manager...it took way too long and the staff should know more about their product also very very little selection of organic food!
