This is a very nice store to shop in. A free Longo's membership does help, as the prices are not low in general. It is great if you have to make a meal at home and don't wanna really do a lot of work and you can get pre-cut pre-measured items but at a cost. This location is pretty good. The produce looked good and the store was clean. It is definitely a good grocery store if you live in the area. Compared to my go-to grocery store I found the produce section small and lacking exotic fruits and vegetables. For a grocery store, this location would cover most of your needs. How is is that I haven't written a review of this place when it's my go-to grocery store?! In an old factory, the architecture is pretty neat. This Longo's is huge and houses many grocery store products along with a wine bar, a cooking class area, a Starbucks and a pizzeria. As it's in a plaza, there are heaps of parking spots. Given the 'newness' of this place and it's aesthetically pleasing aspect, I thought that prices here would be higher than their counterparts. However, the prices here are either the same or in some instances cheaper than the nearby grocery stores. Further, I find the service to be amazing - whenever in need of help, I can easily find 2-3 people to help me. A random perk (imho) is the fact that the bags are free ! And they're great quality bags that I often reuse many (many) times. Woohoo, yahoo, wahoo ! A 5-star here. read more

This Longo's branch is always ridiculously busy. The store feels small and cramped, especially with all the excess people. I am forced to constantly navigate around inconsiderate people who leave their shopping buggies wherever. The lineups at the check out are SUPER long. The whole experience at this grocery store is super stressful. Tip: CHECK EXPIRY DATES. I bought yogourt, brought it home, opened it, only to find it was MOLDY!!!!!!! My all time favourite place to go grocery shopping. Most of the employees are very helpful and friendly. Been there many many times and have only encountered an unfriendly cashier once or twice! Not gonna lie - I really like this Longo's. It's clean, there are directions on the ground as to which way you're supposed to go to help with social distancing, and the selection of products always seems a grade above other grocery chains. The produce in fact always seems pretty good which is a big plus for me. It's fairly small however so it can get a bit crowded in there if you go at a busy time so try to go when you think others won't be there read more

Really clean and organized. Many fresh products and helpful staff. No self-checkout which is a drag. The cashiers are slow and can take forever to process the order. in the last week I went to this location intending to get the chicken and rib family dinner. The problem was that the ribs were clearly dried to the point of the sauce having cracks in it and the chicken looked like some had dried it out, chopped it and carelessly threw it back. I went to get the individual rotisserie chickens and most had burned wings or legs. When I say burned I mean they were black! Where is the standards for this location? What is it about Longos? The parking lot is always full but the store seems empty? This is not the only location I have experienced this, the one on Highway 7 is the same. Anyway, this store is nicely laid out and seems bigger than other locations, but there wasn't anything about it that would lure me away from the Loblaws where I usually shop. The organic produce was all together which was convenient. Went to customer service to inquire about the Longo's grocery bins and had to wait since someone took their groceries to check out there - if there were no cashiers, or no 1-16 items cashiers, I would understand, but that wasn't the case - this woman just didn't want to wait in line. I sensed an air of Leaside self entitlement, that will likely keep me from returning. read more

Longo's started off originally selling produce by the Longo brothers and has now expanded in to a quality grocer minus the snobbery. This particular location is housed in a former locomotive repairs complex, and many of the original elements have been maintained or otherwise incorporated in to the design of the store. You'll find the standard prepared foods, deli, seafood, meat and bakery counters but also an extensive variety. They have a dedicated kosher freezer, an extensive Italian imports cookies aisle, and all sorts of interesting products that I certainly haven't seen at my local Superstore or Metro. They carry a lot of specialty items and even have their own gourmet coffee station where beans are roasted and grinded on site. For the lazier coffee drinker there is a Starbucks. The prices are less expensive than Metro and probably more on par with Loblaws. Corks is an in-store restaurant offering Ontario wines and craft brews. There are lot of competing grocery stores in the area, with both Loblaw's and Sobey's within a 2 minute drive and a Metro and ValuMart within a 10 minute drive. This store is new, clean and large. Italian cookies by weight are delicious, definitely recommend if you like marzipan ($30/kg ~ 6 small cookies for $2). The potato salad and the potato salad deluxe were both disappointing: pretty bland and the texture of the potatoes was odd. There is a Bulk Barn nearby and Olde Yorke Fish and Chips is just up the street. read more

The pizza is usually really good at the wood oven but at times the service is horrid and slow. The counter staff varies from excellent to rude and sluggish. Be prepared to wait a long time for your pizza if they have friends and staffers to accommodate. Pesto pizza is really good if you have a long time to wait. The price is very reasonable. read more

The Longos is located in a big shopping plaza/complex with plenty of free parking. There's also a TTC bus that will drop you off nearby. I don't go here a lot because there a couple of groceries in the area & it's one of the most expensive. I find there produce layout kind of confusing & I had to get help from an employee, who was also a bit thrown off by the layout, to find what I needed. The employees are nice and helpful & they have a good selection of natural cleaning products. They also have good sales. read more

I first discovered Corks this summer when I went for lunch with my friend Akash. I am so happy I took his recommendation. I was amazed by the location, value, execution, the food and beverage offerings, the servers..... I had a fresh 10 inch pizza and a pint of craft beer for ten dollars. Holy f--- thought I; got to tell people about this place, and I did! A month later I dragged my antique scout buddy Danny for some lunch at the new location on Laird Drive. He had the steak sandwich and I had the meat-lovers pizza and a can of Dennison's Wheat Beer. He loved it. Same great, food, value products and execution even nicer location. Our servers were kind and knowledgeable without being beer weenies. It is a open air loft overlooking the prepared food and produce areas Outstanding view of food preparation and the marsala like clientèle who appear to be actually enjoying themselves doing their groceries. Now I knew I had to write about this place and that I didn't have the resources to do it right. I called the Head Office to get more info; I was invited to a community meet and greet to explain and show off the new location; Sure and thank you very much. I decided to invite my good friend Kurt (the Chef at the Hot House). He accepted with some reticence ( something about a bad food experience for him and his son at Greek Restaurant I took them to). My buddy knows his stuff and I wanted to make sure my enthusiasm was rooted in reality. I could sense his scepticism start to disappear like a parka during a Chinook as soon as we walked in. I had to get him a name tag, a drink and to try some food . Oh my relieve when I realized it wasn't the koolaid. He was impressed. Our hosts (though they didn't show it) were more impressed with him than me. His latent food snob only appeared to remind me twice that we weren't trying Roast Beef but Canadian Prime Rib and did I realize how rare it was. Perhaps part of my brain had disappeared in beef saturated seratonins the same way the Prime Rib (lightly covered with house seasoning) had melted in my mouth. Having lived in Alberta for over a decade had taught me a thing or two about beef, but when your guest is a tall chef with a firm English accent you suck it up. Our hosts were a wonderful combination of quiet confidence, pride, knowledge, listening skills and effective communication. Well I really like the convenience of shopping online at Longo's and they have a schedule delivery option that is very convenient. You can choose a time slot for when you want the grocery delivered and you have 90 minutes to complete the shopping and check out. In case you take more time, you can chose another time slot. Pretty cool! I'm regular online shopper at this place for my weekly groceries. What disappointed me the most was the fact that the Mina Halal chicken and Fresh Atlantic Salmon fillet were NOT Fresh at all!! After consuming them, I had an upset stomach and it hurt so bad :( I rely on this place a lot for fresh meat and seafood and this was bummer. You would think that at such an expensive price, you would get fresh stuff, but oh no u don't. I bought a lot of Mina Halal chicken (around 3- 5 packets of 1.5 Kg each) and lots of fresh Atlantic salmon and soul fish at regular intervals and felt they were not fresh EVERY TIME. This is one of my favourite places hands down. I used to frequent once a week but I've gotten lazy as of late as it is slightly out of my neighbourhood. I have been to several Longo's and I always come back to this one. Firstly, love the layout. Admittedly, I'm kind of used to it by now but I love the flow. Second, parking lot is pretty good. I have parking lot anxiety and most other Longo's have terrible parking areas. Third, I never have to wait in line!! This is the best. I know, I know...it might be because no one is shopping there but what do I care? Less of a wait for me. Fourth, they have tons of very helpful staff. When I look lost, there is usually someone nearby to ask if I need help. They also go out of their way to help when I have a question. Now onto the food. I love their selection. I usually scan the flyers beforehand to figure out what sale items to buy. They have tons of organic produce as well as other organic items like meat and dairy. I appreciate that it can be a one-stop-shop for me at times. They also have pantry items and drinks that I love (such as Fever Tree and Boylan Soda and my hubs loves a sort of relish dip that they stock). But my favourite thing of all: the in-store deals. The ones they don't advertise. The deal I will always remember is this: Canadian Prime grade steak for $12.99/lb. Less than half price. To give you a sense of what this means...some grocery stores MAY have AAA steak for that price on the rare occasion. But the difference between Canadian Prime (our equivalent to USDA Prime) and AAA is fairly big. The marbling on that baby was incredible. So tasty. They only had 2 left when I noticed it and I have to say the cuts were great. I apologize that I can't remember the exact cut but I believe it was a strip steak. The fact that Longo's carries Prime grade steak is testament to the quality of food you will receive there. Overall, it's a bit pricier in general for your grocery shopping needs but I can't help it- I love the place. read more

They have stopped carrying the renowned "CIRIO" Italian brand and replaced it with their own ripremandable "Longo's" brand of tomatoe sauces and peeled tomatoes. I think the ratings are a little jacked up for this place. It looks really pretty, but it's still just an over-priced grocery store. I go here all the time but rarely buy a thing because anything that catches my eye I can get much cheaper elsewhere. The one thing that does keep me going back regularly is the Thursday pizza special. It's a quick way to feed us if I don't feel like cooking after work and the pizza is ok. Longos has replaced Metro as my main grocery store. There is an impressive range of extensive gluten free items including Schar bread and there are many deals to be found. The organic fruits and vegetables are plentiful. What stands out is the excellent staff. The customer service at Longos is better than at any grocery store. I once saw an irate customer be totally unreasonable to a team member and the team member maintained her composure and professionalism. The car park may look full but there is usually room. The prices are slightly higher than Real Canadian/Loblaws/Sobeys, but looking around they have quality produce and meats. I love the premade meatballs. About the price of buying lean ground beef in Loblaws but premade meatballs mean I don't have to get my hands dirty. Only thing I couldn't find was the organic chicken. The pre-cooked foods look really good, and even in a grocery store I like the ambiance. It has the look of a boutique grocer but definitely cheaper than going to McEwans. Very, very disappointed. We LOVE Longo's for their steaks. I have friends buy me gift cards because they know we like Longo's meat. BUT this weekend we bought two T-bone steaks from the butcher (not pre-packaged - they were on sale and too thin). Paid over $35. Well they were rotten. I mean just stinking bad. Got in the car and took them back. The clerk at the counter was willing to just credit me, but Longo's should do better. I pay a premium to shop there and you wasted my time, we had to go to a restaurant because it ruined my dinner plans and u credited me $10! The Manager, who had to be paged five times before he arrived from outside, was RUDE. His attitude should not be allowed. He didn't like dealing with a women - he tried to stare me down. I started shopping at Longo,s when it was on a corner in Malton. Just a fruit market then. I still shop at Longo's in Mississauga on Rathburn. I am disappointed that the home made pies are not like they used to be. I think something changed with the pies about 6 months ago. These pies were the treat of the week for my husband and it was even better when you brought out the small pies because he could have apple and another flavour. I don't know what has changed but they are not as good as before. They were really excellent before and I would buy them when company was coming. I love to bake but hate baking with pastry. My husband says there is still lots of fruit in them but the pastry isn't the same and some times the bottom crust doesn't taste cooked. I am not a pie eater. A customer I will always be. Staff here goes "the extra mile" when you need help. They seem only too happy to take you to the aisle where the product you are looking for is located. Other places we go just say go to aisle "so and so" and that's one of the major reasons we shop there. There is a major name grocery store right across the street from where we live, but we prefer to take tat little drive that takes us to Longos. read more
