Pricey grocery selection. Great deli section with a wide variety of great cuts of meat and cheese to choose from. Nice pastry section in the bakery where you can choose something like 9 full sized treats/pastries for $12 (examples include bagels, spinach with feta pie, donuts and much more). They also do preorder catering trays or made to order cakes. There is rarely ever a line up when checking out, very organized even at the self check out. Clean atmosphere and excellent service (always someone around who is happy to help). I don't usually review grocery stores but this one (along with most other Longos) do a really fun Easter Egg Hunt for 1 week in April around Easter. It's so much fun and it's free! My kids enjoyed going around the store to spot eggs to match on the ballot you pick up from at the Lotto area upon entry. Once you have matched all the eggs on your ballot to the correct area of the grocery store, you are rewarded with a Kinder Surprise Egg. read more

Definitely is the "longo" way home, but I do prefer the high-quality meats here! Prices are higher than your average supermarket, but the fruits and produce are fresher. You can even ask for samples of the fruits before buying, but I was told by friends that they don't always accommodate ... Plenty of parking, but weekends are quite busy as this location is within several plazas. I like that they have a Star Bucks inside as well. read more

I've come here a few times now, for some reason typically to get a cake. The cakes are delicious and well priced. I like the strawberry shortcake but the I've had a chocolate one that is just as nice. I don't go to too many longos, but this one has a popcorn vendor at the front which was really nice. However, when asked if the front bags were from today, they explained it was a mixture of yesterday and today. I gotta say if I want fresh popped popcorn, I dont want yesterday's bag. read more

This is one of the newest supermarket in the area. I always drop by for milk, bread and salad late at night since it is opened till 10 PM on weekdays! The cashiers line are never long since they always has a few cashiers working even late at night. And the management are always jump in to help when there are more than 3 people lining up in any of the cashiers. The fruits and vegetables are always fresh, they have people constantly sorting out the rotten ones and rearranging them. They have their own bakeries on site and a great varieties of baked goods! Good selections of Meat/Seafood either pre packaged or get them to pack for you in the quantities you want! Price wise is more expensive than No Frills or Food Basic. I usually just get the sale items. They now have the Thank You Reward program where you can get extra points for buying specific products. I am not too crazy about since it will take me forever to redeem anything.. They takes Visa, MC, Interac and AMEX (I can only think of Longos and Metro that will take AMEX!) This place is freezing cold during summer.. you might has to wear your down jacket to shop!!! read more

I love this Longo's store. I like the ready-made foods that I can pick up, such as empanadas and grilled chicken. There are also lactose-free items, such as yogurt, that help me out. It's a pretty good place to shop if you need gluten-free foods. The price for some items can run steep. It's the tradeoff between quality, fresh food and processed food from other supermarkets. Staff is always friendly when I'm there. I also find it convenient that there's a Starbucks in the store, across the parking lot from a true Starbucks cafe! read more

I have at least 5 major grocery stores near my house. By near, i mean less than 10 minutes driving and some even within walking distance. The one thing i really like about Longos is their consistency. Consistency with customer service, product availability, freshness & quality. Their stores are always clean, well stocked and you can always find someone to answer a question or help you locate exactly what you're looking for. The staff is always friendly and very warm whether you are a regular or it's your first time stopping in. Some of the things i enjoy most about this location: Fresh sushi/maki made daily - great combos of rolls. My fav is their veggie cold rolls that come with a side of Goma dressing as a dip. My family loved them so much i bought the rice paper & dressing and started making my own at home. Shhhh, i still buy them there too! Taqueria - fresh made in house tortillas! I buy these all the time to make fajitas at home. Their Woodbine store & Bayview store don't even have these. Deli counter - always 2-3 people working so little wait time because they are moving quickly & efficiently to serve everyone. Seafood/Butcher - well haven't had the greatest experiences here. The staff that stock the shelves are helpful and will check items if you can't find what you're looking for. My issue has been with the 1-2 people serving people when you want to buy meat or fish. Not very helpful or willing to go that little extra to help you when you need something. As counter help i think it's their job to cut something when you need it cut or if they don't have something on the shelves to have someone check in the back - especially if they are unsure. Not always the case here. Desserts/Cakes - great selection of pastries & cakes made by their bakers. I would love it though it there would be some nut free options. Sometimes prepackaged mini cupcakes just don't cut it when you're entertaining at home. My fav cake they sell is the Frutti Di Bosco - heaps of fresh raspberries, blackberries & blueberries on a crostada with fresh crema. Produce section - fruits & vegetables are fresh and readily available and stocked. I love their selection of apples & fruit - so many options. Great selection of organic products as well. Grocery - they have their own label of products as well as a lot of the familiar brands that we all buy. Some of my fav Longos label products - their line of hummus, pastas & frozen mains (lasagna, canneloni etc.). Overall a great shopping experience. Sometimes there are a couple of things i buy elsewhere if they're not on sale at Longos, but otherwise 95% of my shopping is done here or at one of their other York Region locations. read more

This is one of the better Longos I've been to. Clean grocery store and great staff from the cashiers to the hot food area. You are only getting three stars because of the bakery. Went to get a cake and waited 5 mins at the counter until I asked the two employees packaging pie halves if anyone worked there . The lady said yes but continued to package stuff ... then about 3 minutes later when my wife asked if anyone was working as she needed a cake for work, she asked "are you ordering?" I said yes I wanted a cake ... as she walked toward me she yelled over at the bread person and told him there was a customer at his post but completely ignored my wife and I. Hmmmm I am customer too thanks for noticing them not me ... anyways after that she asked what I wanted I said 'I need a cake to feed 15 people" ... rudely she said you have to pick ... ok .... my wife picked a cake since she was no help and I had no time for rudeness. This was not a language barrier but she clearly lacked customer service. We told her to write "happy birthday Stephanie & Tricia" and wrote the names for her on the paper which she still managed to get wrong despite my wife pronouncing each letter because she was yelling and asking my wife how to spell over the counter... She spelled stephanie as stephaMie, with an M...do you know anyone named StephaMIE? . My wife is in toast masters and teaches kids so she does not have a problem with spelling or her pronunciation. My wife believes that maybe this woman was older and no longer had patience and wanted to give her a break since she smiled in the end but honestly, she was rude to anyone who was yellow including her coworker which is atrocious since she herself is a POC. We left quickly. next time I'm going to Loblaws Bakery. They are more professional and actual bakers not THIS lady at Longos...she lost out on so many future orders because of her rudeness. shoot I get better service at Walmart! One of the perks of living in Cornell is that I don't have to drive all the way to the First Markham Place area to visit a Longo's, whenever I have that urge to buy higher-end groceries. Why? Because this Longo's is only a 5 minute drive from my house! The store itself is massive, and also includes a Starbucks. In case you didn't keep track, it means this plaza has TWO Starbuckses (is that a word?). Might be one too much though, I didn't see anyone ordering from the Starbucks in the Longo's at all. I love the produce here. Although the prices are slightly higher than typical No Frills/T&T pricing, the quality more than makes up for it, and I'll gladly add this place to my list of supermarkets to purchase good quality produce (for those wondering, T&T is not on the list). The cashiers were also very nice. The one I had continuously greeted "Hello, how are you sir? Your total is _____. Here's your receipt, have a great day!". They seem to love their jobs, which is why this Longo's deserves a 4 star. read more

The better longos of the two that are located in markham. Parking never seems to be an issue, even on weekends! Store is clean and associates are so friendly. Never seems too crowded as well! They always pack the groceries nicely and separate them into categories! Some cashiers are so friendly and actually smile. They don't act like they dread their job. Meat section is amazing. Quality meats. The meat selection seem to better than the longos at woodbine. Overall, I prefer this location, even if I'm passing by the other longos. read more

Bright, clean, neat grocery store. Ahhhh Longos - one of the higher end grocery store chains in Ontario, but not as high end as Whole Foods. There is always enough parking here. Walking in, you hit the cooked items including Starbucks way on the left side, rotisseries in the dead center, an area for plants and flowers closer to the middle left and fresh vegetables on your right. The meat section is oh so delicious - fresh, sliced to perfection and super clean. The bakery houses the more expensive breads including ACE and Longos Brands such as chocolate drizzled croissants. Once in a while, you will run into sales, such as Janes chicken nuggets, however, in general, it is more expensive that your other grocery stores. read more

I went here for the first time today and it looks really nice. The produce section makes you feel like you should buy everything. Everything seems more fresh and well lit. I like it more than the a lot of places in the US. Anyway, the prices were pretty good. I hear it's a bit expensive, but I don't shop here regularly at all. One Star for their take home and heat Pizza for $8.00 It is probably one of the worst pizzas ever. They say 450 degree for 15 mins. I cooked it for 8 minutes and the crust was hard and chewy. The crust looked odd when I opened the box. Almost raw and dry. It baked off and tasted terrible. The sauce is okay. Needed herbs for taste. Lots of pepperoni. I would rather have a frozen pizza than have this again. Or pay triple the price and order from a pizza place and have it delivered. This pizza isn't worth $6.00 suggest you don't give it try. read more

I love this place. It's not the cheapest, but the quality can't be beat. The vegetables have a much longer shelf life than anything I've bought at no frills or food basics. Also the variety of products they offer is unparalleled in the area. They stock, poblano peppers, red chilli peppers, heirloom tomatoes, vg farms angus meat, kosher hotdogs, a bakery, etc. Their seafood section is the best part of the store, they have really fresh whole red snappers,chilean sea bass by the pound, diver scallops, and just about anything you can think of. The only place I could say they can improve on is their deli counter, seems a bit limited compared to the rest of the store. That's a minor issue which is easily overlooked by how clean and functional the store is. You'll never see a shopping cart sitting in the middle of the parking lot or other annoying issues that plague other stores. Little things like that make shopping here worth the price. read more

This is my current fav. grocery store and I shop here at least once a week. There's lot's of competition in the Markham area but this Longo's location provides the best overall experience in my opinion. Parking is always easy. Lot's of space in the lot. This is also good news if you don't like your car getting dinged by peoples car doors. Knock on wood.... no dents yet! You can always get a clean shopping cart in the store and you don't need a quarter to get one. The carts are all in great shape and even have a coffee holder on them. There is a Starbucks inside Longo's or outside in the strip mall. I love a coffee while I shop. Generally, the Starbucks inside is a little slow as there is usually only one person working there. They have the best produce in my opinion, always fresh and a broad variety of fruits and vegetables. Staff are quick to remove sub-par produce. The true sign of a great grocery store in one with fresh deli, bakery, meat and fish counters. You can get cheaper prices at places like No-frills but they just don't have the fresh and broad selection of products - a deal breaker for me. Cold meats are excellent and always fresh. Great BBQ products in the summer including specialty burgers, sausages and chicken & steak skewers. I also love their Turkey breast roasts. Staff are always friendly and go out of their way to help. Some of the best customer service I experienced in a grocery store. When cash lines become long, they quickly add staff at the registers, produce workers are great at helping you figure out the best way to pick produce (I suck at this) and staff at the fish / meat counter are always eager to provide cooking advice. Want a quick meal? Try a delicious rotisserie chicken, or their yummy salad bar. They also have amazing soup - I love the Italian Wedding soup. The perfect shopping shopping experience from the minute you drive into the lot. Can you find cheaper groceries? I enjoy visiting this location as it isn't as busy as the one on Hwy 7/Woodbine and there's plenty of parking! The store itself is clean and the staff are nice and are willing to help. This time around, I got some cannoli, which were tasty as always as well as the vegetable chips (2 for $6), which were perfectly crisp! I also got the Krino's Spinach Pie, but due to no labels, I ended up with the cheese one instead. read more

This is a solid grocery store in east Markham. There's a Starbucks, a great selection of prepared foods and helpful staff. We buy many of our our staples at Costco and specialty stuff at Whole Foods, but for anything in between, this meets most of our needs. There's lots of parking and it's not busy on week nights, so it's always an easy experience. read more

It's a love-hate thing when it comes to Longos. On one hand, it does offer decent options and their available cooked food options are okay. On the other, everything is overpriced. However, if I need a quick lunch, I will hop by because they have these awesome meal options that can be 6-10 dollars and include entree (pretty big pieces of meat) and a few sides. The boneless prime rib here is my to-go choice. They also have sandwiches; I've had the pulled beef and it's a stingy amount of meat and processed cheese for 7.00 considering the location and quality. Their porchetta sandwich is NEVER available and I've been scrounging other locations to try it. Pizza is oven fired, nothing amazing but okay. Salad bar is PRICEY and personally not worth it. They have some cool european condiments and products so check that out. Other than that, it's a standard "upscale" supermarket. read more

This place is pretty on top of things, I really like it. They have fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and fish, although I don't eat meat, they seem to keep all their food restocked. It's tidy, neat, and clean which is very important. They have foods which are gluten free, and some vegetarian and vegan options. I found that pretty impressive :) It can be a bit pricy, i've seen some stores sell the same products for a couple dollars less, but the quality at Longos is great. The people working there are helpful, and straight forward, the cashiers can be a bit slow sometimes, but a few of them are funny, not sure why that matters but it makes the shopping experience better. read more

Fruit piles are neat and well stocked as are most of the shelves. The prepped foods area is nice although not as extensive as Whole Foods. A good selection of meats and seafood especially if you're looking to go beyond the "AA or better" (really, it's "AA"!) grade normally offered at Food Basics or No Frills. The cost of the above is the cost of the above. As others have mentioned, pricier than other establishments. Ample parking. Very fresh and a good variety of choices however it's got this feeling of being atmospherically dead inside. The outside with the tunes and the cute chalkboard writings and all help the aesthetics a lot. Expensive too but it's worth it. I love their bakery style cookies. read more

I approached the staff at the live lobster aquarium and asked for two female lobsters. I was told that female lobsters were not available. When I questioned why not since I was purchasing them all summer, a very rude man who identified himself as the seafood department manager told me in a very condescending manner that he gets his lobsters from New Brunswick which had nothing to do my original questions. I ignored him and purchased two lobsters from the live lobster seafood department. The tank had very lethargic looking lobsters as well. I spent $82.00 on two lobsters. I chose two very active lobsters. However, when I went home one of the lobsters was extremely smelly and I ended up tossing it as I think he switched one of the lobsters for the original one that was less lively and not really moving. I like great service, good people to speak with if I have a concern, yet thus man has sullied my long Longos shopping experience. Maybe time for more customer service training. Also more pragmatically, how does a customer know that they are getting what they chose, since it takes 15 mins to steam them and a lot can happen between that time? read more

Today I purchased a "Bat Shaped Rivioli" with Ricotta and light tomato sauce. What a disappointment! There was literally no Ricotta to speak of, the tomato sauce was too watery and I can't give this poor quality meal for $14.99 anything but a "2". As well, my husband picked up a Pumpkin Pie for desert. You guys have to learn how to make a crust....my crust was better when I made it at 12 yrs. old.
