    Freshway Ice Creams 3

FreshWay Foodmart 建興超級市場 is located beside First Markham Place and is brimming with goodies. Their produce section is neatly arranged, with a variety of fruits (even fancy ones from Japan!) and veggies. Prices are mid -- not T&T level but a little more expensive than the cheaper Chinese grocers. The snack and freezer aisles are a Asian tour of munchies - interesting Chinese, Japanese, Korean treats and some seriously tempting ice creams. The whole place is bright and clean, even the fish and meat sections. And there's this cute corner with cosmetics and housewares - I always grab my fave Onpo Japanese bath bombs. They're reasonably priced. Credit cards are accepted. It's sometimes a bit difficult to find staff if you need help or have a question, and checkout lines tend to be long.

A great Asian grocery that always has fresh produce! The store is big, bright and clean. Always happy to get Chinese greens and fresh meat from the butcher here. For Lunar New Year they have a lot of great products and food gift items! They also carry baked goods by local small business: Wai Tak Kee. Be sure to bring your reusable bags with you because they don't give out plastic bags here!

Can I say how much I like the purple shopping carts and baskets .... lol While the prices are higher than my favorite Asian grocery store, I like to stop by when I'm shopping or eating at First Markham Place. The store is bright, clean, spacious, and very well stocked. I actually looked all over the GTA for hibiscus tea, and found it here! I was also looking for ingredients to make homemade Chinese soup, and I took one of the prepared packages to the customer service counter. Even though the woman working there was busy, she left her stand to accompany me to the aisles and find the ingredients, one by one! I find it's economical to buy it this way, and then I go home and pre-package it myself! Weekends can be busy, but there are plenty of parking spots. All forms of payment accepted.

Freshway is my go-to supermarket in Markham. I love going there just to shop for my groceries or just to walk in to see what's good (for my sanity sake.. especially if your home 24/7 with your little one). They have everything you need from fresh veggies, fruits, meats, seafood, huge frozen section, baked goods section, and everything else in between. Love their instant noodle section as they have a HUGE section of different flavour noods from spicy, non spicy, beef, chicken, pork and even tomato base broths! They also carry some Vietnamese herbs and spices in their fresh veggies and international aisle, which is great because I am half Vietnamese and I'm not trying to drive down to the west end just to grab some Vietnamese herbs or spices to make pho or vermicelli noodle soup at home.

Got everything what I need from here. And my daughter is happy shopping here too. The only thing is the price is not too friendly.

Newly opened and very bright and clean. The aisle are nice and wide especially in today's Covid times (sure they did not anticipate for this but bonus marks for cramming everything in). The signage is actually easy to follow and correct for once! The products appear to be better quality than the regular ethnic markets in the area. One stand out is Australian Waygu striploin sub-primal and with the current 10% is a good treat to enjoy The bakery is supplied by Lucullus and sold out by the time i took a peak. Will head back in the morning one day to get a better understanding of what selections are available.

Freshway Foodmart makes shopping fun! Being new, the store is clean, organized and well stocked! The selection here is huge and so many choices with items that I cannot find in other Asian grocery stores. The seafood section is so impressive! Fresh uni, oysters and seafood in tanks! The fresh produce section has unique items and all so fresh! Price wise is a little more than some of the other grocery stores but for better quality items, it might worth that price tag!

I spotted this grocery store while visiting another store in the First Markham Place mall plaza so I took some time to do a comparison. Although this Asian supermarket has many good qualities about it like a fresh (and very clean) seafood department. other departments like produce, bakery, dairy, meats, beauty, etc. are disappointingly basic. There's no hot foods department so you'll have to find your prepared lunch elsewhere. Even the bakery doesn't have fresh cakes for special occasions unless you want to settle for a pound cake. Overall, still a nice clean store with deals to be found.

    Overpriced fruit.

This place is my go to place for groceries. I feel that it isn't as good as T&T but it is way better than Winco across the street. The atmosphere is fantastic and it is large. A great selection of food from all over Asia is waiting for you when you enter. The place is clean, and the fruit is fresh. The only reason why I would remove a star is because some of its food is too expensive. Like the box of pears the pic. The fruit must be flying in a first class suite to cost so much. Overall, it is a great location with fresh food and friendly cashiers.

The sheer size of this store is huge! Each section of the aisles seem to go on forever and have such a large selection to choose from. Fruit and vegetables are to the left when you enter, the frozen section at the back is filled with ice cream and various boba bars. Then there's instant noodles, snacks, sauces and more in the centre. Plus, there's also a beauty section beside the bakery, housewares, frozen goods beside dairy, meat at the back and seafood in the far right corner. I've heard that it gets quite busy but we had gone early in the morning and were pretty much free to roam around without running into another person. Prices are on par with other Chinese grocery stores in the area.

Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Yes!…read more I don't shop here often but when I do, their products are top notch - fresh and worth every penny! It's definitely expensive shopping here but you really do get what you pay for. I come here mainly for their bakery items like their famous jelly roll cake - a must get for the holidays! Their cookies here are baked in house and delicious as well. I often come here during the holidays for herbs as well, since herbs seem to sell out quickly at larger grocery stores. They really have everything that you need here. Butcher section also has great quality meat. As for their ice cream pints at the back of the store - you MUST get some! They are so delicious with unique flavours, some even with an Asian twist. Overall, a great grocery store to shop from if you have the means for it ;) OR stop in here once in a while to check out their specialty items like the jelly roll!

I stopped by to pick up one of their infamous jelly rolls. Never had one but heard that it's amazing. The standard one is the mixed berry however they had a lemon & blueberry one so I opted to go with that since hubby loves that flavor combination. We took it to a friend's house that night and it was exquisite! My friends who said that they normally don't like cake now have a new addiction. The cake had the perfect texture to it to hold up all that amazing fresh cream, lemon curd and blueberries and it was also a perfect balance of sweetness. I've been there on multiple occasions while living in Markham usually interacting with the staff in bakery and the cashiers and everyone I have encountered has been lovely. The parking lot isn't massive but it is enough to host all of their shoppers as I've never had an issue with finding parking there.

This place is huge, and sells all kinds of things. Parking is a bit hectic, even at 1:45 on a Thursday afternoon. The parking spots right in front of the Food Mart are very small, and scary for a big SUV like mine. But there is very frequent turnover, and if you just drive around the lot for 30 seconds, someone will be pulling out. The parking spaces in front of the stores facing the Food Mart are larger and a bit easier to navigate. This mall is great fun to go to. They have all manner of foods (fresh noodles! Great fruits! Asian stuffed toys and cosmetics! Fresh meat and seafood! The list goes on and on ...) and an excellent prepared food counter, and a Chatime outlet. We bought some mochi, some enormous strawberries, and a variety of dim sums from the food counter. Our selections included fried dough sticks (they actually reheat well in the air-fryer), fried squid, scallion pancakes, seafood and pork dumplings, some delicious pork and shrimp mini-pancakes. The squid was the way my daughter likes it (chewy), and I enjoyed some as well. Everything else was great, although the dumplings were a bit past their peak, and should have been switched out for new ones. We also enjoyed some delicious bubble tea from Chatime, which always has new, seasonal selections to tempt you. Basically, a trip to the Asia Food Mart is really fun, as they have such a diversity of products. Next time, I'm coming here to shop "for real" (meaning actual groceries, as opposed to lunch or snacks). The butchery and fish counters serve really fresh food at a good price, and there are some great deals on produce. You can't get around the fact that this is a snack haven. You should check it out now!!! It's open 24/7.

My family and I had just eaten at the Pacific Mall, but man, wish we had saved ourselves for this spot. As far as an Asian grocery stores go, this is one of the cleaner, and better organized ones that I have been to, maybe ever. Not only are they clean, but they have a great variety of snacks and drinks, as well as your standard fare for everyday cooking. To me, the star of this place has to be their prepared foods area. Evidently after 8pm, they mark down lots of their prepared food items. From dim sum, to noodles, fried rice and other entrees, you can score plenty of items for $4-6 which were normally 2-3x that. I felt like a kid in a candy store and began snatching and hording all the things. I had to stop and remind myself we were on vacation, and would be living out of hotels for the next few days, so I limited myself to just a handful of items. We got some noodles, fried rice and dumplings, which we would end up eating for breakfast over the next few days. While nothing was mind blowing per se, the food was solid and certainly economical. If I lived in this area, I could see myself coming here on the regular just for the prepared foods. OVERALL - almost wish I hadn't come to this place, so I'd never knew what I was missing.
