Been grocery shopping here for more than a decade. I'm a regular on thursdays as I avoid the madness on weekend shop. Seen this place transform from their old, not so tidy to their updated and more refreshed appearance. Compared to other grocery stores I still find No Frills chains the most affordable one. I can get my grass fed steaks here not ripping off my budget. They offer some organic stuff too, though its limited. The produce is alright you'll find good ones specially when they are fully stocked. Its great that this location is so diversed that they cater products from different background. They have the aisle for Kosher products, aisle for International foods and Halal meats and so on. I don't miss swinging by the Natural Food aisle. I'm glad that most of my stuff I use they have it here. This location don't offer yet the self checkout corner, seen some places they have it already but this one, you'll do the traditional queuing to cash out. I guess that's better, meaning more people are still employed than a machine. The people who works in this location is always approachable. You see them sweeping, stacking or putting away stuffs they will always throw you a smile and happy to assist you. I use my optimum card to collect my PC points and boy, I'm in heaven when its time to use my accumulated points! Who doesn't like big savings??? Location is just at the intersection of Bathurst and Wilson just around the corner with TD bank beside it, which also they share space for parking. read more

Went to Dave & Annette's at Markham & Steeles. This was a surprise to me as well as the cashier, as they were told if the product advertised on the front page, they don't issue rain checks. Otherwise location has always been good read more

Its a No Frills, but unless this is my imagination, things seem to have improved. The produce is reliable, and reasonably priced but don't expect any "exotic fruit". I don't buy meat here except for Halal chicken (I only eat Halal chicken). Prices reasonable. They have a lot of imported milk/dairy products which are Kosher (from the US). Also, tons of Kosher snacks, etc. Huge frozen ice cream section which is actually quite mind-boggling! The frozen fish section is (in my personal opinion) sub-par, lots of freezer burn on products. (The smoked salmon is always priced well). This is a busy place with a lot of traffic. You want in and out asap. Checkout is swift and polite. read more

John and Danielle's No Frills is amazing because they sell the best and most adorable Brussels Sprouts. I am a huge fan of Brussels Sprouts and they are very often selling the enormous frozen bags as well as the Green Giant Simply Steam Brussels Sprouts in butter sauce, as well as tons of great items at excellent value. read more

first time at this location pretty nice friendly staff the only concern ncern I have is the bathroom it needs a renovation desperately I'm a person with a disability and even though the sign says handicap bathroom it certainly is not restrooms need to be cleaned at least every two hours they need a raised to seat they need support bars automatically door opener they need soap and paper towel they need coat hooks unfortunately the toilet seat was broken I almost fell the floor was full of water the floor walls and toilet were very dirty please you guys need to definitely renovate immediately read more

Terrible customer service, had a product listed for $3.99 and charged me $5.99 when I pointed this out they claimed it was not the same product even though the label under the product was listed the same, the girl said let me talk to the manager, who was just some random person pushing a pallet. He said whatever it scans that's the price, it does not matter what's it listed as, so what exactly is the point of printing price tags and putting them under the shelf if that's the case. Also I found out after that the guy who the girl told me was the manager who was named Marlin is actually not the manager. Lies and more lies at this place. read more

I'll be honest....this is our must go to grocery store. The produce is super fresh and well stocked. Yes it does take some tome to get use to the layout of the store but once you've been there a tome or two it's not an issue. You will not find the deli counter, meat counter, olive bar, bakery but that is exactly as the name suggests...no frills. When we are looking for a good cut of meat we do venture to Loblaws in order to purchase a nice roast but thanks about the only thing that we can't get here. Be sure to take a quarter to take for your cart...you get your quarter back when you put your cart back. Highly recommend to anyone. read more

Maybe they ready my review and decided to do some major renovations? I bump this place up one star for being way cleaner, putting produce, bread and meat in one side of the store and for having a whole gluten-free freezer section. I can eat gluten, but I thought that was a nice touch. The checkout is still problematic but better if you stay out of the express lanes. It's still super hard to find an empty basket, but now they have smaller carts that are roughly the size of 2-3 baskets. Parking and getting out is still a nightmare, especially around noon when it's particularly busy. read more

A lot of their products are past the due date on a lot of things. Staff should check the products regularly, especially luncheon meats.

Huge location that aims to meet the needs of the cultural groups living in the area. I was amazed at the selection, yes it's always been a big supermarket in the area, but they sell unusual products that you can't generally find in the area. Shopping for Easter dinner, many shelves were empty either due to appealing sales or a necessary staple when cooking a traditional turkey dinner. Didn't find any stale or outdated products. Very happy with the selection and the pricing was very reasonable. May start coming here as my go-to as my local supermarket is feeling a little boring. read more

With the alternative being the one on Avenue road, this No Frills is pretty good as far as selection is concerned. I found everything I was looking for. They even carry a good choice of gluten free products. There is a massive kosher foods section which takes up at least a couple of aisles. It loses points for cleanliness however. And I guess shopping baskets are a "frill", because it's hard to find one when you need one. read more

This store is quite close to me, and while I've given it many chances I will only be returning to buy packaged/canned goods from now on. Produce is hit or miss. Quality can vary quite a bit from one week to the next. I have often bought meat at this location that goes bad days before the labelled "expiry date". And I don't just mean bad as in it smells un-appetizing, but bad as in it has turned completely grey and smells as though its been left out in the sun instead of in the fridge. For the amount of money I pay to buy it, it shouldn't go bad within a day or two of purchase. Eggs are often broken in the carton. I brought it up to a staff member who told me to just pick another carton and put the other one back in the cooler. The aisles are very narrow, just barely big enough for two carts to pass without bumping. But because this store gets quite busy you can wait in an aisle for 5+ minutes just waiting for other people to move so you can get by. Edited to add that if you're shopping on the weekend it's likely that you'll find as much time trying to find a parking spot as you do in the store. read more

I think I wold come here any day, over the crowded Metro a few blocks north on Sheppard. Come here early enough, and you'll find tons of fresh produce, but near closing, only the ragged ones are left over. They carry almost anything you need including select asian flavours and what not, but the variety is not a lot. If you're looking for specialty items, look elsewhere. But, they do carry a lot of Gluten Free items , more and more I've noticed. Look for them in a special section in one of the aisles. What's also special about this location is the very large Kosher section. It's it's own store in itself! What I like about Kosher sections is that very often you will be able to find Wheat Free / Gluten Free / All Natural items in here, so don't be afraid to look, just be careful not to pay a premium on it. Remember to bring a 25c for the cart and careful not to hit anyone driving out. read more

After a recent trip to Israel I am happy to find all the snack that I enjoyed at this No Frills. It is a big store with one side being kosher and the other not. The parking lot is always busy as it seems to be the place to park to go to other shops. They have the falafel snack I like and the strawberry Bamba snack with natural ingredients. Buying kosher has advantages for the natural ingredients. read more

I recently moved into the area and figured I'd give this location a try! Unfortunately it was the first and last of my visits. While there was a huge selection of imported/ethnic packages foods, the store was quite old and dirty. For instance, the floor was marked up throughout, some of the shelves in the refrigerated sections were turning brown (rust?), and the carts were in awful condition. The meat section was almost empty. I was lucky to find just 2 packs of ground beef remaining. The produce was appalling. Every single container (and there were many of them!) of strawberries was oozing strawberry juice and had some old furry or squished berries inside. The remainder of the produce appeared to me just past it's prime - squishy tomatoes, grapes falling off stems as they were beginning to go bad, etc. All in all, I feel that I wasted my time coming here. I had to go to an alternate supermarket to get 90% my groceries. Pat - please whip your store into gear! This No Frills is nowhere close to the average in the GTA! read more

Worst experience I've ever had at a grocery store in my life. The older, grey haired checkout lady was unbelievable rude and unprofessional, speaking very condescending toward me and kept arguing with me about my debit card. Then the young manager came up and was just as rude. I shop at this store at least twice a week and have for 10 years.I will never shop here again. I work in customer service and if I spoke to my clients that way I'd be fired. Maybe some retraining would be useful! read more

Hmmm how to describe this location... Dirty, dingy, unfriendly, unhelpful lots of empty shelves, produce just days from turning bad. Cheap groceries are always a quest, but far better to trek up to Fresh Co at Steeles or Eglinton and Caledonia. read more

I do my shopping here every week and I am pretty satisfied comparing it to other No Frills locations. I like that there is lots of parking, sale items are most times stocked, lots of cashiers, items scan correct, and it overall seems very organized. read more

The selection is very decent and the store sells a good variety of produce, healthy Lean Cuisine trays and a good set of nice vegetable burgers. The store has a good balance with snacks and they carry a variety of healthy choices. A lot of staff act very indifferent and don't seem to offer help when customers try to find items. Once a couple of shelf stockers were tossing cases of water and I almost got hit. Often items during the holiday season like eggnog are very close to expiry date. Sometimes the store sells boring products, however, there are a lot of very good tasting foods that are very healthy. They sell the best veggie burgers and very good Weight Watchers and Lean Cuisine trays. This location is very busy and a lot of staff can act rude, however, the selection and variety of quality healthy food makes this a decent store. read more

I see all the negative reviews and I am a little surprised. They have a great selection of stuff and thank god I have never been in a bad situation there . yes its true don't go looking for produce at the end of the day BC most of it is gone or only the bad pieces are left. I think that Pat's No Frills is just great. From what I can see there are alot of workers who are very useful when you need them. I do not know if this is in every No Frills, but the discounts here are incredible! On top of that, Pat, the owner is frequently around and he always greets people so nicely and friendly. I don't see any other supermarket owner doing that. As for those other reviewers, your opinions are odd to me. Those who talked about cleanliness, well let me just say that, IT IS A SUPERMARKET FULL OF FOOD...of course it's not going to be the most sparkly clean place but this supermarket sure does a great job for a supermarket. With all those workers, I wouldn't doubt it. Now, for those that said that the dairy products should be with the bread, why those things in specific, that makes no sense. The arrangement at this No Frills is great, easily accessible and organized. As for the line-ups, what do you expect, it is a supermarket in a very popular location and they go by pretty fast on top of that. The cashiers do a great job. As for the Kosher food that take up a few aisles, well, there are alot of people in that area that like Kosher food, it's as simple as that. And they still manage to have everything else that is needed from a supermarket. As for who I am, I am not a worker from this No Frills just trying to boost it up, I am a regular person who just happens to go to the supermarket alot, all thanks to my mother. And yes, I am a BIG observer. And trust me, before I started coming to this No Frills, I visited alot of other supermarkets, and they've got nothing on Pat's No Frills. I hate to write this review because I know the owner of this store does not condone the rude, obnoxious, unfriendly and unhelpful staff working there. This location is really convenient for me to shop but "no more". I can tell you many instances when I left that store so angry at the service and blatant rudeness of the staff but after Saturday February 17, 2013 never again. The funny thing is this incident didn't even happen to me but to someone I've never met in my life before this happened. A customer was cashing out her groceries and was unable to pay for her grocery because her bank card wasn't working and the credit card she had was not accepted at No Frills stores. You can imagine how she must have felt not being able to pay for her groceries but to add insult to pain the cashier was so unbelievably rude and when she said to her "If you knew you couldn't pay for your groceries why did you pick them up" I was shocked when I heard that. Guess what, there's more. She went on the intercom and called for a price override because " customer can not pay for her groceries. I thought I was in the twilight zone at this point because i really couldn't believe this was a supermarket in Canada. The young lady started to cry and ran out of the store. I also left all my grocery and went to talk to her. She was so embarrassed she couldn't even talk to me. I allowed her to go but not before reassuring her that she should speak to the owner of the store. I encouraged her not to speak to the manager because he had no people or communication skills, I know because I've spoken to him before. This is a very busy store because of the location so if a few customers decide not to shop there it really won't make a difference but I feel good customer service can make all the difference for loyalty of customers. good Kosher selection and good variety for produce if you arrive early. This store has weekly sales to get you in which is nice. The store is unkempt, dirty and the staff is the worst! Very miserable people working throughout the store especially the cashiers, who are rude and insulting! If you have a question be sure to ask a fellow shopper not a staff person for you will be sure to get it answered quicker and more likely correctly. If it wasn't for the cheaper prices than the nearby Metro I wouldn't shop here at all but I guess we all shop to save. read more
