I was in Richmond Hill nearly two weeks ago. It was pouring rain. I needed to pick up a few grocery items. I remembered this Loblaws store. I hadn't been here in years and felt it was time to check it out again. I had no problem finding a spot. I backed into one. With my umbrella protecting me from the rain, I headed inside the store to shop. This store has a Starbucks. There used to be a standalone Starbucks store nearby that I liked. It shuttered for good. It's good to know that if I need one, I can come here. I needed celery. The celery looked sad here. It looked abused and bruised. Poor celery. It was slim pickings, but I got some. There were some other items that were in better shape. Mushrooms were great. The hydrangeas looked healthy blooming away. The dairy-free beverage section made me happy. This store has a Joe Fresh section. I like browsing to figure out what styles are cool. The downside to Joe Fresh clothing is that articles that I have purchased in the past don't last long. I find that the quality isn't great. This place has portabella jerky. It isn't cheap, but it's nice seeing meatless alternatives. I was also happy with the Russell Stover candy varieties. I love this brand so much. I headed to the checkout and had a nice woman assist me. I paid with a debit card. I scanned my PC Optimum barcode from my phone. All went well. I thanked her and left with my purchases. It's a good store. If it brings healthier-looking celery, it would get full marks. (142) read more

I came to get some snacks and drinks for the road trip. I got some cheese bread which was pretty moist and fluffy even on the 3rd day. I bought beer so I had to go through the checkout line with cashier, a bit slow as it was 9pm, less cashiers. I also bought the veggie sticks snack for $2, on sale. Enough selections for what I need at the time which the beer could have been in a fridge though. read more

3.5 stars. I'm a regular and have increased my spending here since the pandemic started because unlike some of their competitors, they take COVID protocols seriously. They have a separate entrance and exit, jugs of disinfectant, plexiglass at each cash register, markers on the floor for social distancing and wide aisles. I'd like to give a higher rating but there are a few areas that need improving. Cons: - Customer service isn't very good. It's combined with the sale of tobacco. I returned an item that hadn't been opened and was nowhere near the expiry date along with the original receipt. The staff member called the department in question but no one answered. I was told to wait while many customers behind me were dealt with. I was completely ignored and had to ask multiple times what the problem was. I read the refund policy published on the wall to the staff member to finally, grudgingly get my refund. No explanation was given as to the holdup. - Prices are often missing from the shelf especially in the bulk food area. - The same items ring up incorrectly several shopping trips in a row. Each time I have to wait while someone verifies that I'm right and the cash register is wrong. Then I have to tell the cashier that the item should be free based on the store's policy. I've pointed out that someone should fix the price in the system or this will keep happening. Yup, it keeps happening! Pros: - The store is clean and well-stocked except for grapefruit juice which is always sold out when it's on sale. - The store is big, bright and a pleasure to get around with tons of unique products including their PC line, flowers, plants and prepared, ready to go food (chicken, sides, sandwiches, sushi, samosas...). - There are great weekly digital offers via the PC Optimum rewards program. You can even carry forward up to 4 offers to the following week. - There's a pharmacy, wine kiosk, Joe Fresh location, mobile phone kiosk and an optical department in-store. - There's plenty of parking. read more

Good store but self service cashiers machines are terrible. If you scan an item with hand held scanner you have to put it on the right side of the 'register', otherwise the scanning of any subsequent items stops. The button to find items without a code was not working and the help couldn't find it either, however she knew the code so ok. When came time to pay for my four items after 5-10 minutes of alternating scanning efforts and in person help, pressing the pay button didn't work either. After the help person came by she checked that I paid for all, and then got the register to allow me to pay. What a TERRIBLE system, and practically everyone needed help scanning their stuff. Avoiding this store as live cashier lines are substantial. read more

Got here on a Friday afternoon around 3 pm and was pleasantly surprised the line up was only about 10 minutes with only a few people ahead of me. (Note: I originally planned to go to Longo's which was closer to me. I left there since they did not allow 2 family members to go into the store to shop together). Back to Loblaws, and am glad to decide to come here since it is not crowded and I like how it is a very spacious store. Lots of variety of fresh fruits and veggies. Everything is nicely arranged. Huge parking lot with friendly staff, just find that the items inside are not placed very well I r maybe I just do not understand the logic behind their product placement. The customer service at this Lowlaws location is just horrible! Been to this location a few times and received poor service every time. My most recent trip to this location was to pick up some flowers. I had called in earlier to put the flowers on hold as I need a bunch of them. I had arrived about 10 minutes before the floral department was gonna close. However, the staff working there already closed up the area. They weren't helpful at all when I asked about the flowers I put on hold. They kept saying they were closed when there was still 10 minutes until they were actually supposed to close. I had to go to the cold room area myself and find the flowers. Lucky I was able to find them. Then I had to take all the flowers to the regular checkout area to buy them. The price of the flowers were coming up incorrect in the system. We showed the cashier the price of the flowers on the flyer, she then called her manager. The manager didn't agree the price was incorrect when the correct lower price was clearly on the flyer. She said the lower price was for red colour flowers cause that was the colour of the flowers on the flyer. It made no sense to me...the flyer said nothing about the flowers having to be a certain colour. If only a certain colour were on sale it would of said it on the flyer! The manager just had a horrible attitude. Finally she agreed we were right and changed the price. The whole process was such a struggle. It's just disappointing. I always receive good customer service at other locations. I expect the same service no matter which Loblaws I go to. Will likely not be returning to this location. read more

The go-to for all my life needs. Facial wipes? Check. Orecchiette? Check. Instant-read thermometer? Check. This loblaws has the absolute best selection of food - so much that I find myself coming here and only here multiple times a week for grocery shopping. The produce section is pretty well stocked, with the exception of the raspberries - sometimes when they go on sale there's usually a good reason (think mold and fruit flies). Check out lanes are really fast, usually no line if you come during the early weekday evening. Overall a great selection of items, produce section can be a hit or miss depending on what you buy. read more

A solid three. Few years ago it would have been a 0, but i must say these past few years they've really cleaned this place up. Its located in an area with a lot of shops but it's the suburbs so it's lousy with parking! Yay. There's a few steps that were missed like last summers big container of rotting watermelons and a whole shelf of expired blue menu items. Line ups can be crazy at the cash sometimes and some staff have no clue about their sections. It's neat, can be kind of weirdly pricey for some items but it's open late and is huge. It has a clothing section. The Joe fresh stuff, for women of smaller sizes because for some reason plus sized women don't matter to them. (Boo) A huge housewares section. I love their towels and toasters! The best steamer I've had in a long time is the PC steamer. read more

This Loblaws is much better than other Loblaws. They do an excellent job putting out fresh produce and clearing out the products that will expire soon. For example, in the yogurt section, all the yogurt that will expire in a week or less is usually put in front of the newer yogurt and marked as 50% off. So there's pretty much two stacks of yogurt, one in front and one in the back. They also recently opened up a Starbucks inside the supermarket! There may be long checkout lines but they already have most (if not all) lanes opened. read more

This Loblaws is so hipster they call it Loblaw instead. To be fair though, the parent company is Loblaw so that's the actual name. If you're looking for good deals for products...this isn't the place for you, as is with typical Loblaws stores; go to No Frills or T&T instead. In here, you expect quality products for the prices they offer. There is a large selection of cheeses and organic products in this store, so if you're in the whole organic craze you'll definitely be satisfied here. Otherwise, if you care more about your product quality than your bottom line, I definitely suggest Loblaws over the other supermarkets. For years I've enjoyed shopping here. I love cooking and eating healthy and this is one of my go-to places for fresh ingredients and huge selection. The PC black label products are great. Recently Loblaws has introduced a program called Guiding Stars to help people make more nutritious choices. It uses an interactive system on their website plus a binder of excellent produce information. The website also offers easy to follow recipes, contests and specials. So nice job with media! For me, the biggest plus here is the Goodlife Women's gym upstairs. It's so convenient to pop in for a run or a class and then pick up a few groceries on the way out. I always find I buy healthier food after working out. Other in-store extras are their fresh flower shop, excellent fish counter, cooking classes, wine shop, optometrist, health food, pharmacy, and a huge Joe Fresh section. With all these extras, stores sometimes run the risk of spreading themselves too thin or trying to be too many things. Not so with Loblaws Superstore. It's a pleasure to shop here. The store is spacious and clean. Product displays are changed regularly to give a fresh feel. Always plenty of cashiers open. Plus each specialty area is run with the same attention to high quality products and service. The prices might be a bit higher on some items but there are plenty of low cost options as well. The store was generally ok. It was in the late evening when I went so it was a little messy and floors were dirty but I guess it was so be expected late at night. The one area though I mainly went in for was because Joe Fresh had 25% off clearance. I just dont know how anyone can shop in that condition. It was a disaster. I dont have patience to sort though that rubble of clothing. I'm sure they're were some good deals in there but couldn't be bothered. read more

I stop into this store if I need anything on my journeys and I'm passing through. I used to stop and use the video vending machine that had in the store but I guess that company who it belonged to didn't make any money off of it and now all the machines I know are around in different Loblaw locations are all gone.. I like this store because it has everything, and its always well stocked. Service for the most part is fast, and mostly everyone is friendly... There are always, however those snob cashiers you can't seem to shake off, does it hurt a little to play pretend and fake a little smile once in a while? which is why I prefer the self checkouts, it always seems nobody wants to use them as everyone usually has carts filled to the roof with junk while I just have what I need, the reason I popped into the store in the first place, just to pick up whatever I have on my mind "oh yeah I need that!" Another upside to self checkout is you can have bags! I always hit the "no bags" button, why else am I going to carry my stuff, I don't want to look like a shop lifter! I truly truly hate this fucking bag law, what really bothers me is I try to avoid shopping in Toronto and now most all chain stores charge for bags, where the hell do I do my shopping now?? Oh right, Walmart, they really do have everything you need! Especially when you have all these little small items, they are so easy to lose and get misplaced, you need bags! I never know when I'm going shopping so I'm not going to carry plastic bags with me everywhere I go, just give me a bag I have the right to have, I'm shopping in your store, I'm giving you business and when I spent over 100 bucks in your store you would think I should be allowed a damn bag! read more

Love love love this Loblaws. They have a good sized Joe Fresh, great lighting, and generally lures you in to wander around the aisles. They also seem to have no qualms upping their sale game. Example, they just had their truckload event, which from the flyers sounded like they're selling off loaves of bread (Wonder Bread, Country Harvest, D'Italiano) for 2/$5. Not here. They were selling the CH and D'Italiano for $1. And the Wonder Bread? $0.10. They want to MOVE their inventory, so fresh fresh fresh! Love that! read more

I go to this store if I need anything. I usually buy tea from PC, dresses from Joe Fresh or herbal medicine from the pharmacy in that store. Sometimes I even buy nicorettes and flu medicine. I like this store because it got everything. Most of the items are cheaper than the other stores. But there is one thing I cannot understand: I found out that a pack of 72 teabags of PC green tea is more expensive than three 24 teabags packs of the same thing. Shouldn't the bigger pack be cheaper by the teabag? I also have a PC Financial bank account. But I am a little worried. You know, there were some big chain stores that had been closed down during my years in Canada, like Simpsons, Miracle Supermarket, Knob Hill Farm; if Loblaws closed down, would PC Financial still be here? Consistently finding expired and mouldy food. Absolutely the most disgusting grocery store Ive ever been to - I genuinely am concerned that people are eating and taking home unsafe food. I am shocked this place has not been shutdown. I have seen food WEEKS past expiry and still on the shelves and one evening my fiance brought home hotdog buns to find green throughout them all. The salads are an absolute ripoff as well. The last caesar I got (not half off despite being due that day) I had to throw out more than HALF the lettuce. Most of the lettuce was soggy, brown, and inedible. As someone who grew up in a small town from up North, I find it utterly deplorable that such a grocery store remains and has so many customers. Do not bother buying the premade salads unless you want overpriced, sketchy lettuce. And triple check your buns and all bread for green before leaving. In this city, you are better off supporting Walmart. This is the most disgusting Loblaws I have ever been to. Also, not sure if it's a city thing or Loblaws employees thing, but typically when a customer has a question the answer shouldn't be "I dont know." With a straight face then walking away. Needed some groceries late at night and it wasn't too bad. Staff: There weren't many staff around but we were there late and didn't need help. Cashier was friendly but the self checkout was faster even though we were next in line and there weren't too many items. Store: It is big. We only wanted dip and it was listed on sale 2 for $6 or $3 each. I always hate that because they should just list individual in my humble opinion to avoid confusion. Overall nothing special. I've been coming to this store for 6 years now. For the most part it's great, employees are friendly. My biggest issue the quality of vegetables has gone down quite a bit. Especially the bell peppers. Noticed it with the cauliflower, broccoli and packaged kale/spinach too. JUST HAPPENED!!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER EXPERIENCED! Just finished the cooking school this morning and went down for some shopping. When we went to the self check out, the Mussels were labelled $4.99 but it showed $5.99 on the screen. We asked for the assistance. A short, hunchback, Mid-East, old lady showed an extremely impatient manner and a very grumpy attitude as if she wants to quit her job soon. She wasn't wearing any name tags so I could not identify which employee, which is against the protocol of the company. First she did not help to check why "SEAFOOD ITEM" was showing $5.99. At this point, my wife and I showed very understanding because myself as being in customer service for 8 years know that when a system is having an error, the frontline staff has nothing to do with it. But then her attitude continues until it got onto my nerve. She said she couldn't remove the item, rescan it and started blaming my child of lifting the scanned items. I told her in a reasonable manner stating that it wasn't about the kid. It was about the price being incorrect. She did a few actions to the screen but still couldn't fix it. Then she gave up and said i never seen this happen before. And i said to her back i've never seen this neither before. We tried to respect the senior people when it comes to IT errors. We offered to move the items to the regular cashier, then she yelled "no you have to pay for it." I was like shocked, and excuse me as if we ain't gonna pay for it? We moved to the regular cashier and the pricing was correct. I tried to go back and check her name tag but she wasn't wearing any tag at all. Just $1 dollar we have revealed how incapable she is to her position and how negative her attitude actually is. This review is to show consumers that we cannot tolerate this type of costumer service and to show the HR department how they should supervise and monitor their employees. This place has it all. Its nice & clean, bright & cheery. Excellent cooked foods, homewares (which is occaisionally nice to have), Joe Fresh clothing, oh yeah & groceries too. The check out area has been cleaned up and its more streamlined & neat. Usually minimal checkout waits when i go on friday nights or saturday nights. Its my go to grocery store. read more

It looks like Superstore, feels like a Superstore, oh and similar products as a SuperStore. As huge grocery stores go, it's OK. They don't accept American Express so I had to pay by debit. I love High Tech Loblaws-BUT please have more cashiers on. My husband always comes shopping IF I'm going to High Tech. You can pick up quite a few unadvertised specials also. The store is clean and the bakery area is great. Love the different breads and pies. There never seems to be much help if you need some information and help finding a product and many times other shoppers have helped me find things-not good customer service. But all in all a great place to shop. Much better than Bernard Avenue Loblaws. read more
