So far we've visited a couple of times. First was right when it opened at 7 am and that's probably the best time to shop since it's highly unlikely you'll run into another customer at that hour and there was tons of covered parking spots available. The second visit was mid-morning on a weekday. Since the store is rather large you're still unlikely to come into close contact with another customer. The aisles are wide and what I found different about this location was that there's a lot of refrigerated products within the centre of the store and not only on the periphery. There is a single queue for the cashiers and an employee holding balloons let those in line know if a cashier was free to assist them in checking out. It was a bit of a wait but if you're shopping with another person one can wait in line while the other continues to browse. read more

Dufferin and Steeles Superstore, Toronto. As every visit goes, pick up from PC Express is a horror story. Wait time is usually at least 1/2 an hour after arriving at the store. They usually have 1 person delivering groceries to the cars and that person is overworked and has no assistance. Atmosphere in the parking lot is not pleasant as customers are tired of the wait. Delivery to cars is out of sync as to when they arrive at the store. Multiple complaints to the PC Express staff go unheeded. Can this store not review and make changes to make this experience better for the customer???? read more

For a long time I was pretty wary about going here, because of broken ankles from a fall several kilometres well south of there one winter some years ago and having difficulty walking. Now I come here around every other week if I cannot do a delivery because of certain products or clearance items not available on PC Express. Love it now, customer service is fab although I wish the self checkout machines would take cash, it's easy to go way beyond your budget, although the return on the amount of points you get is very high if you shop carefully on your optimum offers. Despite it being a big box store, and my love of smaller stores, this is one of the few big box stores I like. 5 stars. read more

I guess RCS is as down the middle of a place as you can get. The pricing is on the higher end compared to discount grocers, but you get a decent selection and cleanish space. It's a place you don't really think about much, but you'd miss it if it wasn't around. MANY of the P.C. Lemonades available at this chain CONTAIN THE ACTUAL BUG CALLED - Cochineal - (look it up online to see what this bug looks like if you dare.) They are squishing up these bugs to add a reddish colour into the drinks. So much for "natural colouring"! I think I would PREFER artificial ANY DAY OVER BUGS! - but Loblaws, how about you use beets or red/dark grape skins etc. INSTEAD OF BUGS! This RCS is at the corner of Don Mills and Eglinton. Arguably not the easiest spot to get to these days with the TTC construction. However, they have both a covered and outdoor lot and lots of spaces. Inside, they have a very big store, with a huge Joe Fresh section and a decent sized pharmacy/ cosmetics, housewares, linens, and toy section. Downstairs they have a florist, dry cleaner an small Beer Store outlet. I find this location great as I am able to get some things here I can't get in other places. For example, their selections of spices and baking supplies is very good. Lots of prepped foods and a good sized butcher counter and bakery. read more

I like shopping at this location, the store has everything I need and the staff are so nice and helpful Today I was most impressed by George in the meat department. Being so close to Christmas the store was busy. I wanted a prime rib roast for our Christmas Eve family dinner. All the roasts in the display bin were too small. George was very busy stocking the bins and answering customers questions. When he saw I was having trouble getting a roast he took the extra time to go in the back and find the roast that would work for our family. I am most grateful to George for helping me today. Their return policy on plants is not accepted at this store. I purchased perennial plants, some at a discount on two different occasions. I asked the customer service agents at the plant section at least 3 times if returns would be accepted on all of the perennial plants that I purchase. Not only did they assure me it would, but also told me that I had a full year to return the plants. I went there today, which was exactly 14 days after the first purchase, only to be told that my returns would not be accepted by Natasha, a manager/assistant-manager there. She said that plants with prices ending in .44 were clearance/final sale. I told her that their clearance sale only started at June 30th and that there were no signs/indication that the plants were on clearance, or that they were final sale, and that I was assured returns would be possible. She simply refused, no matter my arguments and the fact that I even returned them within their regular 14-day return period. Terrible customer service and they are NOT honoring their return policy. Overall a great place to shop - there is a fairly decent size hot/cold lunches area, including sushi so you can get something to grab and go. Their fish/deli section is smaller than some other locations that I have visited. Pretty big variety of products - organics, aisles for south asian specific foods etc. Joe Fresh also has a fairly big section in here, as well as home decor, beauty and home furnishings. They often have sales so I generally shop here since they also price match. Also they have fairly frequent tax free days. Hey - every little penny helps! There is also a section for bulk buys (mostly nuts) and a small bakery at the back. You can get a cake, some appetizers, a hot new dress from Joe Fresh and some perfume all in one spot. There is also an optician and eyeglass place here as well as an electronics section right in the front by the registers A flower shop sits on the 1st floor and you can always get some beautiful flowers for relatively cheap - lots of 3 bunches for $10/15 here to brighten up your house. What can I say, this place is huge! They carry a lot of product and their produce and meat departments are quite large. The fruits and vegetables are usually always quite fresh and the prices are similar to those found at loblaws and freshco. The place is usually packed on a weekend so I suggest going here in the evenings like my gf and I do. We usually head down around 9-10pm when the store is empty to get the latest and greatest without all the crowds. They also have a nice coupon board at the parking lot level, in which my gf tends to spend most of her time. My only issues with this supermarket are the size of the deli (which is tiny) and the fact there are never enough cashiers. Usually when we check out there are only about 1 or 2 cashiers at around 8pm-10pm. This would be fine if the store was completely empty, but usually wait times are around 15 minutes just to check out. Also the cashiers seem to be clueless about the flyer deals or issues with PC points. Overall a great place to shop, but they could use a few more employees and a wider deli department with more selection. read more

I don't own a car so I really, really, appreciate that I can buy so much in one location without needing to bus all over Hells half acre to complete my shopping. Yes Flemingdon Park, I'm talking about YOU! I'm not sure what's wrong with the Management here - customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Employees must be flagged down by extreme measures like waving your hands and yelling very loudly, otherwise don't hold your breath because they seem to put a lot of effort into avoiding any sort of eye contact with customers. If I shop here at lunch time there are always long lines and surly crowds, so maybe the bad attitude is catching?! I don't have any issues with the stock or the variety of food and merchandise here. Complaining about variety here seems morally wrong when I'm sure so much of it must go to waste...and that's reflected in the prices. That being said, it still feels like a novelty to me to buy clothing and food in one place like this. I know that's the normal way of things in big box stores, but for TTC users with limited access, this is pretty damn great! It's amazing that the store remains as neat and tidy as it does with so much in stock. fair warning - do NOT order PC Express through the Don Mills store. I placed an order. Received a txt the order was delivered at 12:20 pm as scheduled. It was not delivered. I waited for an hour, still not delivered. I contacted cust. service. Apparently the delivery was lost (?) and the manager was to call me back asap. No call. I called PC Express for the 2nd time and again was told the manager would call me back in 10 minutes. That was 3 pm. Still no call by 6 PM. I called cust. service again, was told the store would just refund the order. The store won't re-issue the grocery order I have already paid for? what ? They wasted my time placing the order, waiting for the order and waiting for unreturned phone calls, and now I've got to wait 3 to 5 days for a REFUND! Disgusting! The selections are decent but there's a lot of false advertising in the store. the section for nuts and seeds has some small hand packed seeds and nuts (ie wrapped up in a little unsealed baggie with a tag). these bags have a price written in bold ranging from .99 to 5.77 on the shelf with a discription of the product. only at check out do they reveal that the price is per pound and each little baggie is about 7 to 10$. for that value you could get a whole box anywhere else for 2/3 times the volume. read more

I go to several stores every week for my groceries and by far the worst one is the RCS at the corner of Don Mills and Eglinton. Here is why: 1- The store is very poorly managed. If you ever ask to speak to the manager, the standard response is "he is in a meeting". This is less than candid as I have seen the manager walk around. Obviously he does not want to deal with customers and his staff have been directed to say he is in a meeting. 2- Since the lockdown, the longest and slowest line ups are at this store. Very poorly managed. 3- Items in the weekly flyer are more often than not, un- available in this store. For example today I lined up for 30 minutes only to find out that the two items I wanted, watermelon and zucchinis, were not available. I have experienced this numerous times. Interestingly enough as soon as the flyer expires, the items reappear on the shelves! Overall it is a very poorly run store and has been so for quite some time. Loblaws does not care! read more

For me, this place is right around the corner and open later than most of the supermarkets in the area. It's harder for a premium store like this to compete on price in an area with half a dozen asian grocery stores catering to indian, chinese and regional equivalent customers. The place is always clean, well stocked, and I find a few great deals every now and then that put it far ahead of the local no frills, metro and food basic. with a combination of food and home furnishings this place is more in line with walmart than the others and my pc wok is still going strong after 5 years. This is definitely a walking place, so get some decent shoes and prepare to browse to get something that stands out. read more

I am noticing that they have introduced flash food location, which we have to order through downloading their Apps, it's a good idea instead of throwing into trash to sell at the lower price, my complaint is that many good items, before coming on their flashfood Apps and on shelf it is sold out how come? I am watching regular the App is not showing on Apps but and when I visit the store is available at shelf, when ask for those items which were not on Apps and they're saying it is sold! if it's not available on Apps. It means those things are just for staff they can buy before coming on the App, then why are they displaying on flashfood shelf, sell them in the hidden way to their staff. Why mind games. read more

I am forever a Superstore girl but this Superstore happens to really suck :( Although it is a large store, their selection is limited and the things they do stock are usually out of stock. Staples that are usually missing: Double Stuffed Oreos Things they do not stock: President's Choice canned soya beans (they used to stock these but last time I looked, none were to be seen) Various President's Choice cooking sauces - particularly from their Indian collection President's Choice Organic rice cereal Heinz Nutrios Their clothing selection - particularly their baby section is very limited. Their photo lab is spotty as well. The last time I had my photos developed, the time it took to process the photos far exceeded the 1 hour turnover time that they guarantee. According to the sales associate, the machine often breaks down so this is a common occurence. Although this is the most convenient Superstore for me to visit, it is also the most disappointing. I would actually rate the customer service line as a 0 if that was possible. bought a box of frozen breaded shrimp which i put in freezer when i got home. went to cook shrimp today and found a huge black hair in the bag. called the customer service line and got some person who could barely speak english and was NO help at all. he told me to return it to the store even though i no longer have the receipt. no apology for hair in food and completely dismissive. completely HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. This review is more for the Optical Center than for the store, but the store isn't half bad. I recently went in to get my prescription updated and to order new contacts/ glasses. The staff especially the young woman managing the optical front of store was amazing. They helped me pick out frames, found what worked for my face, and did everything she could to get me the best price available. I was so stoked and happy when I left. A great experience. This grocery store has everything you need. Food. Drinks. Plenty of Shopping Carts and Plenty of Parking. Parking is both in a Parkade if you want to escape the snow, rain, sun, or just want some shade and also tons of spots outside too. They also have certain weekends where they have NO TAX days so that is the best time to buy your electronics and save a ton of dough. On the weekends they have EVERY SINGLE LANE OPEN which is a huge PLUS and makes going in and out a lot faster! They also Price match so make sure you download the FLIP App or go old school and bring your flyers. Just make sure you dont price match in the Express Lane cuz thats seriously a D*** move! If you want quick in and out they also have self checkouts too! The cool thing is they have a Beer Store, Wine store, and even a convenience store right downstairs! They also offer a cooking class as well! I love this Superstore because it is fast, clean, and super efficient to handle my weekly grocery shopping needs. read more

A photolab staff who lacks basic photography knowledge, and yet very defensive 2. The studio location where the background is staged is full of clutter 3. My only problem with the Superstores is they try to do too much. I like the idea of a large store, but when you put in non-grocery items (i.e. clothing and sheets), you take away valuable space for additional varieties of fruits, vegetables, etc. For groceries, I much prefer a Longo's, Loblaws, Valu Mart or Fresh and Wild. This large grocery store is located at corner of Don Mills Rd and Eglinton Ave E. There's a large parking lot in front. There are also several buses in the area; however, due to the new Eglinton LRT construction, the traffic has gotten worse and the bus stops get moved around. The store has pretty good prices and a good selection. They have store coupons on the main floor and will price match a competitor if you bring in the current flier. Con: the store used to reduce overstock/expiring items by 50% but now they and other Loblaws/PC stores only reduce them by 30%. They also have a new policy where they've linked all the grocery carts so you need a looney/$1 to use the grocery carts. read more

Great store for bulk items on sale, like 30 rolls of toilet paper, or cans of PC coffee which is quite good and more environmentally friendly than those pod things! Joe Fresh is at the opposite end of the entrance so no need to walk past it unless you actually want to shop for clothes and tvs with your groceries. Like No Frills, you must bag your own groceries, and lineups at check out are crazy on weekends. Underground parking lot always seems busy even on weekdays when the store is busy. read more

Alright, we all know that I am a huge fan of the Real Canadian Superstore - and not just because it's really Canadian. Pros: 1. Humongous! 2. They have a good sized Joe Fresh smack in the middle (meaning you can sneak clothing into your grocery budget without anyone really noticing - score!) 3. They have the housewares section - which I love - you can find everything you need and things you didn't even know you needed! 4. Apparently they have the low-price guarantee or some nonsense. There were so many signs telling me to "TRUST OUR PRICES" that I did, indeed, trust their prices. 5. They have a Beer Store & some sort of wine store on site. Cons: 1. It's just too big, I spent about 10 minutes wandering around looking for eggs. For pete's sakes, EGGS! I actually left without buying any because I couldn't find them and was getting angry text messages from the mister who was waiting in the car. 2. The organic section was hidden. I wandered up and down the store for a good 15 minutes looking for this. I almost had a meltdown trying to buy my organic soy milk. 3. Too. Many. People. Arrgghhhhhh! And they move so freakin' slow. Why? Why? WHY? It totally gave me the rage. 4. We followed the signs to leave the store, and got lost in a neighborhood called Flemington Park. We actually had to whip out the GPS to get the hell out of here. It was like being in a Kasbah. People were laughing at us, I could tell. Anyways, if I need some "real Canadian"ness I suppose I'll come back here because it's so close to our place - but I may need to put myself into a sensory deprivation tank afterwards. read more

This morning, as it is my sons birthday, we went to order a cake and get birthday things...before work/school. There were 9 NINE people already in the only opened cashier line, and more coming to join. I asked if there is no other cashier to open, as it is really busy and I and others, I am sure are rushing to work. The woman on cash said; "you can ask her..." and pointed to someone at self-checkout. I asked the young woman at self-checkout; "Is there someone else who can open cash, it's really busy". She says; "It's only the two of us here. I can help you over here!" I reluctantly took my items over, with the help of the young woman, scanned everything,...only to have the machine malfunction...we then had to go to Customer Service with all the items to pay there. It was such a waste of time! I do not like using self-checkout. I actually hate it, and I find Superstore is limiting the amount of cashiers available, as a push to get customers to use self-checkout. This is unfair and I think consumers should rethink shopping there, if they are not willing to provide more cashiers. METRO, Food Basics, FRESHCO and No Frills are all cheaper and have ample cashiers.... read more

Specifically reviewing my experience with the PHOTO CENTER/CUSTOMER SERVICE. Took a passport photo because this place was convenient from where I work. The lady who took the photo wasn't the nicest, but otherwise it wasn't a huge deal as the process doesn't really require a lot of interaction anyways. I figured, it's a grocery store, what do you expect? 2 weeks later the Passport Canada office phones to notify me that my photo has been rejected due to flash and glare. I didn't realize there would have been an issue because I figured they (RCSS) knew what they were doing. I came back to ask if they'd do anything to support the fact that I'd have to re-courier the photos (which costs about double the cost of the actual photos) and pay again, and the manager says No Support. Then when I asked about re-shooting the photo at the very least, she said they need written documentation about the rejection. I showed them my proof of purchase and a photo of the photo taken, and explained they had phoned me to notify me (verbally) and I had no written rejection. They said it had to be done. I explained that it would be very difficult to get through to government office and asked if there was any way they could help me out as i'm burning so much time and jumping through hoops just to resolve this $11 photo issue. Again no support. I finally got the government office on the phone to open my case and they said it would take 3-4 business days for another department to send me an email (typical government office delay). I asked the RCSS manager to speak with the agent on the phone as proof, and she would not speak with her, and insisted it had to be written and that I had to print it out and bring it back in 3-4 business days. In conclusion, due to all these protocols/rules, and lack of authority (or maybe she just didn't want to help at all), I ended up burning off my lunch hour with zero progress. All in all, this experience just made an upset customer even more upset, and now I have to burn more time taking my photo elsewhere, and then coming back to get a refund on $11.16. This experience just reminds me why it is important that we support independent stores who care about consumers and are willing to go out of their way to solve a problem. Today, RCSS #1077 did not solve my problem. read more

Aisles were clean, well stocked, produce looked plentiful & in good condition. No issues with staff here. Though I have to complain that some of the shelves in the organics section were bare. They also don't have any essential oils in the organic section, which I thought was strange. Other than that, good service with the cashiers. There were plenty open. read more

RCS is definitely impressive with the ground-floor shops and flower boutique moderately priced and the gigantic store upstairs, as well as an eating area. The 30 wings for $12.98 deal is impressive and hard to find! I was pleased with their seafood selection although I wish they had more of an organic selection like Beretta Farm meats, like Loblaws does. Still, you are able to find a lot of organic produce and shelf items if not fresh meat/eggs. I like shopping here because they carry a great selection of bread, seafood and produce as well as hot items. I also wish they had a larger selection of pastries..(again...like Loblaws) like more cupcakes and little cakelettes but it's probably better I don't eat that junk. The aisles are massively, things are neat and it's fun to browse through all the appliances on sale. On my way out, I picked up some roses and was glad my produce stayed fresh until my next visit. For a Real Canadian Superstore, it's not bad. It's reasonably clean. They don't always have stuff (produce in particular) in stock if you go on the weekend, but it's not as bad as other Superstores I've been to. They can have some really great deals on some things, while other things are priced on par with other more upscale grocery stores. They seem to have a lot of "buy x or more and save y/unit" which I don't love because often I only need one of whatever it is that I'm buying. I like that it's not so huge that it'll take forever to get through it all, but since I've moved here (less than a year ago), they've reorganized their shelves twice, which is so annoying. They usually have all cash registers open on the weekends between certain daytime hours, which is really convenient because it does get quite busy. There is underground parking but I find I can find a spot more easily if I park outside. There is a small Beer Store and wine shop on the main floor which is nice, but the selection isn't great at either. I wish they would carry beer and wine like some other Superstores in the city. The Joe Fresh section is quite large, especially for women. They also have a great greeting cards section, and a decent home furnishings section. They have more brands in the baby section than I expected - a few types of Boogie saline nose wipes, Wabbanub stuffed toy soothers, Lulujo muslin blankets, 1st year photo card set (I loved using this with my baby) and stroller clips, and the ever popular Fridababy snot sucker. I really like the PC points program (have been able to redeem a lot of money - love saving on groceries) so that's an extra incentive for me to shop here. read more

i really really want to like this store: it's close to where i live, they (theoretically) have a great selection, and not just for groceries, and they have some of the best prices in the GTA. Unfortunately, the staff lately seem pretty uninterested, they used to be pretty friendly, but the biggest issue i have is with the lack of stock! sale items, regular items, seasonal, non-seasonal, it seems to make no difference. if i go to superstore with a list of ten items, and they're things i can't get elsewhere, there are three items they're out of stock on. it sounds petty, but if i'm not going to get the stuff i need from superstore, i just end up at our (closer) metro. read more

The grocery store itself is okay. Good selection, and the PC-branded housewares are fairly cheap. Plenty of parking and there is a Beer Store on location. Really the negative review here is for the on-location PC Financial "pavillion" or booth whatever they want to call it. The one guy manning the booth in the evenings is straight up terrible. We came in to open a new savings account to weeks ago. Just as we were getting things started, he leaves us and starts helping other customers! I'd say this is my favourite grocery store in the area. The produce is always fresh, there's lots of international foods, and let's face it - you could probably spend an entire afternoon shopping here. You can rack up a pretty large bill, though if you aren't shopping for what's on sale and are tempted by a lot of the pre-packaged convenience foods they offer. There are a lot of awesome things along these lines, but when you realize just how much you are paying for pre-crushed oreos as a sundae topping (PC brand I am talking to you) it is kind of ridiculous. read more
