Here you can find the esteemed "perfect" fruits from melons, grapes, mangoes, strawberries to oranges all flown in by air. Be warned that these perfect fruits are pricey- even the regular selection of fruits here are pricier than your average supermarket. However the regular fruit selections are like AAA+ quality; the sweetest & most fragrant fruit! No more sour/tasteless fruit ever again!! Winco also has rotating exotic/seasonal fruit by air from all over the world. We were most impressed by whole fresh durian from Thailand recently! Winco def caters to those families who value quality over quantity (it also comes with a higher price tag shopping here) Employees take aesthetics & cleanliness seriously. Their fresh fish & meat section doesn't smell which is very impressive for an Asian supermarket. Fruits & veg are constantly being refilled, rearranged & placed in perfect triangular towers. You can also see many employees shaving off/picking off browned veg leaves so the bag of veg you're purchasing is the freshest & youngest (who wants to be paying per pound for veg & needing to peel off 1/4 to throw away... Winco does that step for you even before you buy) I find that fruits & veggies last longer if I buy from here lol You can also find unique foreign snacks from Japan, Korea, Taiwan & beyond! Their frozen selection of ice cream, seafood & hot pot ingredients are plentiful & full of tasty varieties Never thought I'd be so passionate about an Asian supermarket! Winco is a place you'll want to check out!

The supermarket is not very big and thus, it may be why it looks full when there is a lot of people. Prices aren't low but it seems the produce, meat and fish are quite fresh, with tons of varieties. I had their Pork Belly with Preserved Vegetable. It was only $5.99 for a decent portion, and tasted pretty good. A Pineapple Soda completed this meal. It was actually such a good deal, I decided to pick up something for dinner. A combo with BBQ Duck, Soya Chicken, Vegetables, and Rice, also for only $5.99, seemed like a great choice. Just place correct price and not try this switch a roo for items they claim to be on sale. Either honour the price or don't sell it. Two things I…read morewas especially appreciative of: the bakery personnel nicely went to make new packs of cream puffs when I asked them if they were out of the packs and when the cashier went the extra mile to split payments, then packed our groceries for us. It was also nice to see the items I don't usually see in smaller Asian stories, like Filipino and Caribbean. Clean, bright, would drive back to this location again.

Let's start with the prepared foods counter, which consists of a number of warming trays for hot items, a counter with a stack of steamers for dim sums, and the typical chinese BBQ display window, with the hanging, reddish-hewed ducks and pork sides. My husband and I have found some of their take out foods to be on the bland side, but the BBQ and the bakery items are total winners. My daughter loves to get a take-out combo tray of BBQ pork (char sui) and roasted pork belly for her workday lunches. We also love to take the BBQ pork buns camping or on road trips. They make a very tasty, clean, hand-held snack. I've also tried their dim sum, and it was very good, for dim sum prepared and then held warm for a while. Their Youtiao (fried dough sticks), shao mai and har gao are always great. They've recently introduced stuffed tofu to the dim sum counter, and I will have to give that a try. The meats, from both the Halal and Non-Halal counters are excellent. The have very competitively priced meat that it always fresh. Pacific also has some great weekly specials, many from their seafood counter. Once, I bought snapper for a fraction of what it would cost in a mainstream grocery store. I've had their lobsters and crabs too: all excellent. Now, moving to the produce aisles, you will find a vast assortment of exotic fruits (what else should I call them? are Dragonfruits and Mangosteen exotic??? Or am I indulging in Orientalism). This section of the store smells beautiful, fragrant with ripe fruit. The produce aisles also boast a copious selection of Chinese greens, such as Yu Cai and Snow Pea Tips, which the regular grocery stores do not carry. Finally, the dry goods aisles offer many good deals on all sorts of things, and is a great source for all the chinese and japanese sauces that you could ever wish for. It's such a pleasure to have this wonderful supermarket so close to home!

If you're looking for Chinese ingredients specifically, it's a bit limited. You'll find most of what you might be looking for, but I feel like they don't carry a lot of the popular brands that we're looking for. I think they support really a wide variety of Asian necessities, so it's more geared for variety. If I want something in particular, I pretty much never find it here, or I find a weird brand I haven't tried. It's a really clean store and well organized. Staff are super friendly. The hot food table has a few options, plus there's a sushi stand, but I think the food is just so-so. We've not quite enjoyed the quality there, but I think it's fair to say that most of these types of eateries are not the best. They make everything in a large batch, and while some flavours hint at authenticity, the quality is quite meh. Again, great place to go for your basic necessities and pricing is fair.

Great deals on fruit, vegetables, meats and noodles. If you like seafood (i do not) there's lots of that, too. Its pretty run down, but you're there for the no frills aspect of it. Worth the trip!

Parking situation is a tad annoying since it's at First Markham Place, and it's always busy here. Overall, worth the hectic parking lot and the amount of people. Looking to get your Korean grocery goods?…read more H-Mart is a spot we visit occasionally to stock up on Korean noodles, taiyaki, frozen snacks, fried chicken and other hot food from time-to-time. There's quite a vast selection from produce, meats & seafood to Asian drinks and hot food. Unfortunately everything is still relatively overpriced compared to other Asian groceries judging by the prices of their seafood market, hot food stand, specialty beer and even the taiyaki now. One positive is the number of sample stations now in-store. There's also a handful of food court options from BB.Q Chicken to Buk Chang Dong Soon Tofu. We weren't impressed though by the cleanliness of the food court. If you're planning to have a meal, just be prepared to take a while to find parking in the busy plaza parking lot. Skip it or hit it? We will usually skip it until the next Korean food craving hits in 1-2 years unless it's something we can't get it elsewhere!
