Walleye Fingers Appetizer
Jim B.

Loved it. It was our first time here today. We came with two other couples for lunch. John was our server. He was very kind and patient. He even put up a window screen to shade us from the bright sun. My wife and I shared the following for lunch : - Walleye Finger appetizer - Asian Salad with Grilled Chicken - Bowl of Wild Rice and Chicken Soup Every item was excellent. The portion sizes were fairly large. We finished the soup and took home over half the salad and walleye fingers. I'd come back here again.

The service and ambiance was perfect for a nice date night! However, the food was just mediocre. The artichoke dip was ok, but I wouldn't ordered it again. For the main dish I got the macaroni with buffalo chicken. The chicken was super bland and I couldn't really taste the buffalo sauce. The drinks were good! I got the Barrel Gin Negroni.

We came here for dinner with friends. I really enjoyed my ahi tuna and my wings were decent. My husband did not really like his burger. He said that it came with no sauce. The service here was pretty good for the most part. Overall, we had a decent time here. Would I come back? Probably not. It was pretty pricey for us to just think the food was OK. We also had to wait like 30 mins for table which is good for them, as they are busy but if you don't like to wait make a reservation. I will say the presentation of my food was impeccable absolutely stunning.

If you can get to Victoria in Minnesota it is one of the cutest towns. And you will find a selection of unique restaurants in this community that you could take your choice from and we chose Winchester and Rye. First of all the vibes in this place are amazing. Whoever captured the ambience with furniture, lighting, Decour etc. did an outstanding job in making this one of the most beautiful places to dine in small-town Minnesota! The hostesses we're just doing their job sadly and we're not inspired to be there. But our sever was great! She loved on us and her personality was energetic and she gave us perfect service (she worked at Chanhassen Dinner Theater). I will come back for her service alone! Well done! I was excited to order the smoked chicken chipotle sandwich. I was looking for some spice and some life. And all I got was a corpse. It just didn't taste anything like the description in the menu. It was beyond bland. And the side of mac & cheese and ordered with it was again, not memorable. The noodles were not cooked enough and it left no impression on me what so ever. We also ordered the sweaty Betty burger and sadly got a clammy Sammy burger. It was so bland in the flavor just wasn't there. I wanted to like it so bad but I just couldn't because it was so bland. I was disappointed for sure. Final Take: I did enjoy this place. I love a good atmosphere in this place definitely has it. That's why I took all the pictures. I really enjoy the vibe of the space. The menu looks great but the food is just simply bland. The food presentation came out a little clunky as well. I think they are overworked and understaffed to be honest. But that's an easy fix. They are known for their pizzas in their brick oven as well which I did try and it just wasn't memorable. I want this place to work because I think it has potential. It just needs some intentionality and better management and I think this could be a hot place! Side note: I grade my bathrooms as a 5 Star Bougie (clean, pleasant, smells great, picked up, in order), 3 Star Basic (like home with the basics and equally as clean) or 1 star Bad (filthy, paper towels on the floor, sink is disgusting, smells like a toilet, etc) ... this gets a 3 Star Basic. Used but clean.

Great restaurant for a date night. Absolutely stunning space with lots of rich dark woods, a gorgeous copper brick oven, and a separate event/private dining space with second bar. We stopped in for a late Sunday lunch. The service was excellent and the food came out quick. I will note the restaurant was pretty quiet with only a few tables seated. Everything we had was delicious. The Jamaican Wings were the highlight and I would strongly recommend them. The menu is sizable offering wood fired pizzas, pastas, handhelds, and some more upscale entrees. After our first experience I am excited to explore more of the menu starting with the pizzas which looked incredible

Ask the Community - Winchester & Rye

Does anyone know if Winchester & Rye is pet/dog friendly? Outdoor patio? Thanks for any info!

I recall seeing leashed pups on the outdoor patio. You should double check still as some places have limits to the size of dogs allowed.

Is there outdoor seating?

Yes they have a lovely sunken patio on the west side of the restaurant.

We loved that they have hammerschlagen and we often play that! We tried the food for the first time this past Friday and it was really great- we were surprised with how much they have on their menu. The staff there is always friendly and if you aren't sure what to get, they'll help you. One thing I do want to know is if you're playing games it's really hard to get points for winning something in their shop... I played the ball drop game and the mystery amount of points was either 1 or 11? so just ensure you and your kids are looking at that before playing. We also did ax throwing and I really enjoy this because of their digital screen you're able to play a variety of games and really make it into something fun for yourself! The person helping us there was really kind and showed us how to throw the best way so we could have the most fun. Overall really enjoy this place and all that it has to offer! (Especially their beer menu!)

There are plenty of arcade games as well as axe throwing, mini put and even some free games like bag toss. There are also different food options and a bar for adults to enjoy some good drinks. Be prepared to spend quite a bit of money as the food and drinks are relatively expensive and the cost for the activities also adds up fast but it feels well worth it to be able to hang out for a few hours without getting bored.

Mirabelle was chosen for friends night out due to the social media post and it looking great on socials. I'd first like to say the staff here were amazing. We were helped by quite a few of them during our dining experience. We were even given a guided tour of the rentable event space, as well as the 2 other restaurant concepts they run, which are connected to Mirabelle. Shiki - Japanese inspired noodle bar, and Parlour Bar - Speakeasy vibes. Mirabelle has more of a supper club atmosphere. Back to the dining experience, we all ordered the drink special - I don't recall the name but we all enjoyed it. Kind of like a cosmo. We were able to catch a few things from the happy hour. As I said earlier I was looking forward to ordering the wings, which I did, but was later informed they ran out - we did go at dinner opening on a Monday - maybe they had a super busy week. I was left to only trying cheese curds and fries which were okay, nothing special. Others tried the caesar salad, a shrimp pasta dish, popcorn, and a few other dishes. Overall they weren't very impressed either. Probably would have enjoyed the other concepts a bit more personally. Also had popovers - they were very egg forward - smell and taste - also something no one really enjoyed at our table. The drinks and vibes were amazing though!

I loved that they have New Riff-Rye. I also love a play on the classics the Tequila Old Fashioned (Reposado tequila, coconut aquavit, agave, tiki bitters.) The inside is gorgeous: dark grey wood everywhere, very modern, and smells amazing from the moment you walk in. I love that it's in the space that used to be Cuzzy's Bar and Grill; the renovation really makes it feel like a whole new place. I ordered the cornbread skillet and a chicken sandwich (I asked for bacon but didn't get it). The cornbread skillet was excellent -- my partner had cheese curds that were melt-in-your-mouth, i love when places paor curds with the blueberry dip. The chicken sandwich was awesome: quality chicken with a super crunchy breading, and the tomatoes had a little pepper seasoning which made it stand out from your usual sandwich. I also tried their Mac and Cheese. Thats pretty good its dauced just right and i think its pimento cheese. Partner also tried chicken and waffles, which he enjoyed but said it wasn't his favorite -- not really a chicken-and-waffles guy. The sweet potato fries were tasty, though a bit soft rather than crispy. Service was fantastic. Our server was very sweet, attentive, and helpful with suggestions and questions. The bathrooms were clean, and the bar area looked well done. The space is much bigger than the old restaurant, with more booths and seating than I expected. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I would definitely come back to try more off the menu -- everything looks tempting. A wonderful spot in Chaska that's worth visiting. Go visit!

It's the perfect spot for a casual date night or lunch with friends or by yourself! I had their vegetable potstickers and the vegetarian miso ramen and both absolutely hit the spot. The dumplings had a nice crisp on the bottom and the filling was incredible. I cannot stop thinking about them, they were truly so delicious! The ramen was also beyond my expectations. The broth was flavorful and not overly salty and all of the ingredients came together so nicely. The flavors were outstanding! We also tried the green and peppermint tea which were delicious and high quality! To top off an amazing food experience, our waitress Courtney was spectacular! She was so kind, helpful with the menu, and went above and beyond to help make our experience so positive. You would absolutely be missing out if you don't stop here while near Excelsior. Shiki is already doing so many things right and I can't wait to see all that they continue to do with their menu!

Jester Concepts' restaurants are typically at the top of my lists (Parlour, Borough and Starling…read moreare among my favorites), but in my experience, Shiki missed the mark. To be sure, ramen is a hard perfect, with each component really having to stand on its own to allow for the dish to come together. I ordered the Shoyu Ramen with a soy based broth, roasted pork belly, a soft boiled egg and toasted nori. The biggest miss was the broth - it was bland, almost watered down and lacked complexity. The noodles were plentiful and had good texture while the pork belly was gray and sad, too fatty without a hint of flavor. The bowl was not hot either and the whole experience left me with a "meh" feeling. My dining mates felt similarly about the Kimchi Ramen. A redeeming quality of Shiki is their shrimp steam buns, which we ordered as a starter. Cold poached shrimp are delicately placed inside pillowy steam buns and accessorized with crisp pickled veggies, hoisin sauce and cilantro. Great small bites to share. Aside from the lackluster bowls, the ambiance was a little disappointing as well. We went on a Tuesday night around 6PM, so granted, not peak dining hour by any means. The space is small, with a few bar seats and maybe four to five tables. Something was burning in the open kitchen behind the bar and the heavy smoke in the restaurant was overpowering, leaving us smelling like charred meat for some time after. The staff were very pleasant, but the space is just lacking character. Maybe on an afternoon for lunch, sitting up at the bar, would be more of an experience - but I still think the food would leave you disappointed.
