These are the best doughnuts I've ever had. We came late in the afternoon on Sunday and they still had a full selection of perfect fresh doughnuts. A dozen doughnuts was $15.99. They also sell beverages, hot breakfast meals, salads and other items. Service was fast, employees are helpful, one woman has worked there since I was a kid, she's not the friendliest but gets the job done efficiently. They have tables for dine in. No bathrooms. The shop is located in a shopping area that is frankly a little ghetto but over the years I've never had a problem with anyone. Definitely lock your doors here. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town. read more

Absolutely love Winchell's. I go every chance I am in the area! It was part of my childhood. I would stop off at the end on my paper route and get a dozen donut holes and two cake donuts with rainbow sprinkles on white glaze. Now that I am older, it still pleases me to know that Winchell's exist somewhere. read more

No stars. I'm throwing away my breakfast sandwich. My gf asked for a green juice and the girl said it will take a long time, because she has to squeeze the juice. The place was filthy, floors, walls, my gf chose not to use the bathroom, because it was so bad. Placed should be closed down until they can get it together. read more

I oftentimes stopped here early in the am for some great donuts. I usually had to wait in line a short time to get my fresh glazed donuts because they always drew a crowd. I would see the same faces every day, all getting their donut fix for the day. I guess you could say they all have an addiction to Winchells donuts, just like me, and the withdrawal pains wouldn't be worth it. They are just too good to give up. Visiting the area and stayed in Salinas for the night. When looking for food options saw there was Winchell's Donuts nearby. I grew up in SoCa and remember very good donuts from this chain. We were not disappointed, great selection and despite being 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon donuts were fresh. I was surprised to see Winchell's offers more food options now like salads. Took off one star due to all the tweekers hanging around the area. That being said, any business in Salinas would need one star removed, tweekers have really taken over Salinas. read more

To all customers that buy donut at this location, please please always make sure the receipt that u sign for payment is the same amount of ur purchased. Yesterday I bought 2 pieces of donut amount of 2.78. Now they give u the receipt and they also give u another receipt to sign but that 2nd receipt they double the price to 4.78. I caught them in the act and when I asked the lady why she could explained.. I asked for manager and they refunded me. My point is they modify your receipt amount for the signature payment. I will email the corporate of that winchel and share my experience. read more

I am at work starting at 4:30 in the morning, so it's such a treat (literally) to have Winchell's open that early and just down the street! The donuts are always good and the service is always friendly. Bonus points for the good coffee. I personally love mine with the French Vanilla non-dairy creamer. It's so delicious. It's also worth noting that they're open 24 hours, but if you want a breakfast sandwich or basically food other than a donut, don't plan on getting it until after 5AM. I went to Winchells by East Laurel around 10pm and the lady who helped me was very rude. It seemed that she was mad that she was helping us. She kept changing customers, at least she should've helped one and finished helping him and then helped us. read more

I give this place two stars and that's only cause the doughnut were delicious. My issue is with worst service ever. Not only was the worker lady lady very rude but I waited 23 minutes to get served. Been here 3 times, I gave them a try after try. One time the lady was just moping instead of helping us quickly . Second time she had fresh donuts out back and I asked for those and she told me to pick the ones that are on the show case first so they can finish. Third time they gave me a coffee that I did not order and said "oh sorry, it's ok just drink it" I drank it because I'm not picky but if I was rude I would of complained. The donuts were okay , but I disliked that she rather get rid of the old donuts first instead of giving me good service and letting me choose whichever donut I want . Also I did not like that she gives attitude when you ask questions. She said if I'm not ready to move and let someone else order the last time I went there. I haven't gone back since then. I highly recommend the south main location instead . Way better service, ther ladies there are friendly and they are always fully stocked and offer a buy a dozen get 2 free donuts.
