Love their sandwiches the supercharger is my favorite but they have other great sandwiches also and the cookies can't forget the cookies

8/10 I ordered the Supercharger and the Belair, and overall both sandwiches were solid, filling and generously packed. Starting with the Supercharger, this was easily the standout of the two. It's loaded with roast beef, bacon, turkey, ham, salami, pepperoncini, tomatoes, red onions, gouda cheese, and chipotle aioli on a ciabatta roll. They definitely don't skimp on the meat, which makes it super satisfying. The combination of the soft ciabatta and cheese worked really well together and balanced out the heaviness of the meats. My only complaint is that it could've used a bit more sauce, something like extra mustard or mayo would've taken it to the next level. Still, a strong 8.5/10. The Belair was decent but didn't quite hit the same level. It came with turkey breast, bacon, gouda cheese, spring mix, tomatoes, red onions, pepperoncini, and chipotle aioli on fresh sliced sourdough. Ours actually came with American cheese instead of gouda, which slightly changed the flavor profile. It was a good sandwich overall, but noticeably drier, especially with the sourdough, so it definitely needed more sauce to bring everything together. I'd give it a 7.2/10. Service was fast and efficient, which I appreciated. The ambiance stood out too, it has a cool retro gas station vibe that gives the place some personality and makes it feel unique. Try the bakery station again with a coworker of mine. We both got a turkey sandwich. It was pretty delicious. We were both very satisfied. The only thing I was pretty excited about trying a cookie and we were not able to because they still have Covid precaution to where you cannot step inside the establishment. It's all good. The sandwich was great. The service was nothing to write home about, but the food was good and that's all that matters. read more

Stopped by after my hair appointment and picked up a BLT. I wants to try the breakfast sandwich but they stop serving breakfast at 11am. Recession indicator? This used to be my favorite sandwich - but sadly can't say that anymore. $9 for pesto toast is just too much. The stinginess w the cheese and tomatoes is ridiculous. When closed flat - it looks like there's nothing in the sandwich. Also I'll add that I ordered this on Door Dash. I specifically requested - "please enough tomatoes to cover the sandwhich " bc the last one I ordered was just as bad - but I thought it was a one time thing. Nope! This was my first time visiting. I didn't realize they made sandwiches. I found this spot on DoorDash and thought, why not? It had mixed reviews, so I was taking a chance. There wasn't a seating area inside. When you approach the door, that's where they take orders, and the menu is on the glass window. About two people were waiting to order, and one was waiting for their order. The total for the two sandwiches was $19.40. The staff member who took my order was friendly. My mom ordered the same sandwich I did, called the Bel-Air sandwich. I didn't get a chance to photograph hers, but she was disappointed, saying she had high hopes. The bread was very soggy and didn't taste fresh. The portion size was good. I didn't eat mine that day, so I saved it for the next day. I was thinking to myself, "oh boy, it's going to be super soggy now I might have to change the bread." However, that was not the case! The sandwich was good, and the bread wasn't soggy like I thought it would be or compared to my mom's! I finished the whole thing comfortably, and y'all, I saved it for the next day in the refrigerator, so I was expecting soggy bread. read more

Came here for the first time today for lunch around 12pm. Parking was kind of hard to find, everyone is constantly moving in and out of spaces to grab and go but it wasn't too crazy. We ordered the bel air and igniter. Both sandwiches had their own special flair and flavor profiles. It was awesome. We also ordered a cookie, I forgot what it was exactly but it was something along the lines of chocolate chip, walnut, and oatmeal(?) I'm so wrong but it's okay it was something along delicious. It's a grab and go spot so, no sit ins but you can stand around and eat if you wanted to I suppose... cute place though! you wouldn't expect it to be a sandwich spot. the long lines will definitely have you curious if you didn't know what it was right away. How cute is this sandwich shop? I was in a bind after class and needed something to eat when I stumbled across The Bakery Station. The shop was easy to navigate to; however, I had no idea it was inside of an old gas station. Maybe a large sign could help the confusion some customers like myself may have. I ordered ahead because I saw online that it was takeout only. The wait was no more than 10 mins. I ordered the BelAir -- turkey breast, bacon, gouda cheese, spring mix, tomatoes, red onions, pepperoncinis with chipotle aioli on fresh sliced sourdough. The sandwich was fresh and yummy. Checked out this spot for the first time earlier this week from a coworkers recommendation. Taking off one star because they served expired chips (August 2023 when it's October 2023) with my sandwich. Sandwich was tasty though. I've been coming to the bakery station since I was in high school (10 years ago) and the bakery station you see now is not what the bakery station used to be at all. Since the "shelter in place" due to covid, has been lifted for YEARS now, they have not let a single person back inside of the establishment to enjoy a sandwich by sitting down in one of their tables or bar stools at their bar top. Nothing more frustrating than seeing you can't sit and eat in an establishment that has plenty of room to do so. My guess, the staff is too lazy to keep up with the very small dining space and clean a table here and there. Their bland staff takes your order at the front door with no customer service and their wait times for a simple 2 sandwich order is beyond ridiculous; considering they don't have to worry about anything but making sandwiches since the entire inside is closed to the public. They also still use the same names of the sandwiches that used to be prepared perfectly and are now skimped and lacking in character. Nothing about this place is the same and needs to be rethought of or remodeled completely, this is a mockery to what the real Bakery Station used to be. This is a very real review that needed to be shared since the day they changed owners. Anyone saying anything different has never been to this place pre covid. read more

I didn't realize it would be such a cute place! Tiny, but very cute. The BLT has deliciously crispy thick bacon, which makes the soft white bread (NOT toast, FYI) the perfect contrast. The Banh Mi wannabe (can't remember the name, but it's on a French roll) was tasty, but could use more spice. This is a really affordable place. I love how they have kids' sandwiches for only 3.75! I've definitely overpaid elsewhere, and then my kid only eats half. Every sandwich was under $10. read more

I drive by here all the time and didn't know what it was until I Yelped in today. I decided to give it a go and I was very pleased. The customer service guy was SO nice. They have a lunch combo special that includes 1/2 sandwich, chips or cookie and a drink for $9.00. The lunch combo came in a brown bag that made me feel like my mom packed my lunch for school and I liked the nostalgia lol. I got the tuna and the 1/2 was plentiful for me. This was my first time here. I ordered the "igniter" without the mayo. Despite that they had several people waiting, the service was quick and professional. The staff was very friendly and I really appreciated that. The food is fairly priced. When I got home I tried my sandwich and it was delicious. It gave me vibes of a Vietnamese Banh Mi and I loved it. The only issue I had was that I found a chicken bone in my sandwich (see photo). Thankfully I spotted it right before I took another bite, but I couldn't help thinking of what could've happened if I hadn't seen it. Other than the bone, the sandwich was amazing. I'm not sure what's going on with grub hub communicating with restaurants. When I first tried the bakery station I ordered a potato salad and was charged for it on my end But it didn't reflect on their end. I understand stuff like this happens so I wasn't even mad. I try to give places a second try. So today I ordered a BLT with turkey on whole wheat bread.. when I got back to my office to enjoy the sandwich I was terribly disappointed to find it was on white bread The restaurant is at an interesting location and I like that they are closed off from anyone coming into their restaurant and have folx order at the door Their staff was polite and quick to help me when I got there. If anyone in management is reading this review... y'all need to get your ducks in a row with grub hub, don't advertise whole wheat bread only to disappoint your customers with white bread If anyone is reading this and doesn't see the big deal go educate yourself on why overly processed breads are pointless to eat and bad for your health. read more

My sister and I have been wanting to try this place for quite some time but every time we decide to go it's closed. So luckily one day my sister and I was driving by and was thinking what to have for lunch we both thought we better stop by and try it now. My sister and I both ended up getting the same thing, BelAir Sandwich. I would say I am impressed in the amount of meat they put into and how soft the bread was. There was a crunch on every bite and no soggy lettuce! The size of the sandwich is Perfect. It filled me up and I would definitely try to go back there again to get a sandwich. We love this place. It was the first place we came when we moved back to Salinas to feed our moving crew and we were happy to find it. It's more of a sandwich shop than a bakery, but there are lots of baked goods that they make in house. Over the last couple of years we find ourselves there quite often. I was pleased to find out that they bake their own sourdough for the sandwiches (and the loaves are beautiful). We're big fans of the BLT and the Igniter, both are beautiful, big, stuffed and extremely delicious. The service is quick and everything they bake is outstanding. read more

Quirky deli in an old gas station. Take a moment to browse the photos in yelp for the deli as they capture how truly amazing the sandwiches are. If you leave hungry something is definitely wrong. I was able to finish half of a Bel-Air and am considering feeding a hungry third world nation with the other half. In addition to the deli they have some great baked goods to include scones. I am not usually a scone fan but their chocolate chip scones looked so delicious I had to buy one. It was as delicious as it looked. The customer service was great. service was fast and friendly. Probably the best sandwich spot in Salinas. The sandwiches are made with fresh bread, stacked high with meats veggies and cheese, and simply delicious. Last I was there it was take out only, customer service was great, and order was completed promptly. Be aware though sometimes there is a line out the door and it may take a bit to place your order. I found out about this place during the shelter in place order. They were offering free delivery to local residents. Their serving sizes are gigantic and their sandwiches are creative. I don't eat a lot of meat and their menu is meat-centric so I just never got around to checking it out. But I'm glad I found it. They make a veggie sandwich exciting and the large garden salad is enough to last several meals. Yep. Gigantic portions. The VW has jalapeños and apple slices. Their BLT is the bomb. Top it off with a cookie. I will be back. They are closed now because we are right in the middle of the coronavirus in Monterey County and they want to shut down as a safety precaution. The Bakery Station is for sure a go-to stop for fueling up for lunch when in Salinas. I was working in the south valley and passed through Salinas on my way back most times and felt this place was pretty reliable. I even stopped while heading camping out there a couple weeks ago. Easy to find, lots of street parking, very cute setup. This is a converted service/gas station, so they take the car/travel theme and run with it. Their specialty sandwiches are all named after classic cars. Service was always friendly, if a bit slow during busy times. You order at the counter and can see all the great pastries and the giant bread oven. Watch out for the 'sourdough', as it tastes like white bread. A better bet is the wheat, which I found had better flavor. All the ingredients were fresh. Limited chip selection, but I always found one I liked. Large beverage selection available. Plus for being open on the weekend. With fresh baked bread, tasty ingredients and very good prices, Bakery Station is the spot. read more
