Another place found through Yelp and it was a good find. The place was really busy. The employees were nice and helpful. I went with the Tri-tip sandwich and a drink. The meat was very tasty and the bread was nice and fresh. This is definitely a return visit place. They have a good selection of other sandwiches too. They have places to sit inside so I was able to relax while I ate my food.

Wow, just Wow!!!!! If you dont at least try this place, assuming you are in the area, something is definitely wrong with you. The most amazing Turkey, bacon , avocado on a French roll, that I have ever had... Fresh, fresh, fresh, is an understatement!! People were super friendly, non rushed, very pleasant, all around.... Had the 1/2 sandwich and soup. Soup was chicken and dumplings and it was amazing as well. Just overall a very great experience at a little corner sandwich shop. I walked from the Pilot truck stop about 40 min away. Needless to say, I will walk back here tomorrow for lunch again. Seriously, if you are on the fence, you should come over here if you want a great sandwich and or soup at a pretty fair price, even for California....

Here's to you, Della Rose Deli. Your sandwiches and service were fantastic. I had the deli club , and my fiance had a turkey,swiss,avocado, and she loved it. Came in on a Wednesday afternoon, minutes ahead of the lunch rush, quickly realized we picked a great stop to eat on our way hack home as the place quickly filled up with a line for thru drive thru as well.

This was the special of the day. Not sure of the name of the sandwich but it had chicken, artichoke and jalapeños among other things.

Best sandwich spot in Salinas, hands down. I have tried 3 different sandwiches, and they have all been delicious. Two of these have been daily specials. They also have salads, wraps, potato and macaroni salads, and pastries. Lots of goodies to try. I get full easily and pricing is decent. Their staff is friendly, and look happy to serve you. This place does get packed during the lunch hour so plan accordingly. They have a small parking lot, but customers make it work, and they do have a drive through. I do wish they were open on weekends! I highly recommend you try this place.

Great find on our drive south! Our toddler was napping through our planned Morgan Hill pit stop so we looked for options in Salinas and are so glad we found Della Rose. We wanted to get out of the car for lunch, but are glad to see a drive through option if needed another time we are passing through. We were worried with the number of cars parked it would be a long wait, but our sandwiches were prepared quick and there were plenty of tables both inside and out. The staff was friendly and the food was great. We'll be back! read more

Del Rosa Deli is a Salinas staple and has been for many decades. Their sandwiches are delicious and easily some of the best in town -- definitely top three deli sandwiches in the City of Salinas in my opinion. It's a go-to spot for a lot of farmers and people who work in the ag industry, and the location is easy to access. The drive-through also makes it very convenient, especially when you're trying to grab something quick during the day. The only downside is that they close early, I believe around 4, so you have to plan ahead. Overall, a solid four stars. Sorry, I forgot to take a picture this time, but I'll take one next time and update the review. read more

Stopped in as I was in the area for a repair on my vehicle. I had heard a lot about this spot and the fact that the whole time I was nearby this place had a line both at the door and drive thru had me wanting to see what all the excitement was about. I ended up in the drive thru debating the club or cali and of course I opted for the Cali cause who doesn't like avocado?! This sandwich was delicious and half was more than enough for me. The exterior of the building was clean. I'll have to drop in sometime soon because writing this has me craving another one! read more

Always busy around lunch, but staff are quick, amazing, and super friendly. I think the woman taking orders knew most folks by name, so it was a great atmosphere. The sandwiches are gigantic, our household favorite here is the Cali Club, but it serves as a whole day's meal! Their green salads were super fresh, and had plenty of protein, so definitely worth it if you're avoiding the bread (but eat the bread... dutch crunch roll is worth it!) read more

I used to go here often for lunch when i lived in Salinas. Salads were always so fun to make here. Great variety of lettuce options. And adding bacon and cheese on top added plus croutons made for a great healthy lunch. read more

Ordered the corn chowder, it is so peppery, it is not edible. Purchased a macaroni salad too, it is horrible. i would like to know who is eating this and saying "this is the best macaroni salad i have ever eaten"? i can not believe for a salad shop, they can't find any better recipe than this? I absolutely love this deli! They are close to my work obviously a local favorite, every time you go and it's around lunchtime be prepared to wait. Which is no problem I'm usually waiting happily for it or we call our order in ahead. Calling to order in ahead of something I suggest you're in and out soon to enjoy your whole lunch break digging into their delicious sandwiches. The staff is always extremely friendly as well! The girls in there really love their job and you can tell. The owner is extremely friendly and he's always there helping customers as an important part of their team. Definitely if you're in Salinas check them out you won't be disappointed! read more

I am not much of a deli/sandwich eater. But Della-Rose is an exception - particularly their Tri-tip sandwich. You have to try it - it is just the bext tasting steak sandwich you will ever have. Remember to ask them to add the pepperoncinis to give it a little bit of kick. Service at Della-Rose is pretty efficient too - considering they are usually super busy at lunch time. Most of us work in the area, so we are just getting takeout or grabbing our bag of food at the drive through. But if you are looking to eat there, come early or later past the lunch hour cuz they have very limited seating. read more

I came before the rush and drive thru worker was super sweet and patient with me while I chose my order, since it was my first time. I know I should be writing about one of the best tri tip sandwiches in Salinas. But let's not ignore the fact they probably have the best chilli I've ever tried. Super nice people serving the counter and quick as well gave me extra time to enjoy my meal. Will make this my new spot. read more

Fresh meats and veggies. This place is always a bit busy but they are so quick and efficient that it doesn't make a difference. The bread is always fresh tasting and their staff is upbeat and friendly. It is a small cafe but has some out door seating as well for those. Iced days. I highly recommend this Deli to anyone. read more

Sandwiches are good...basic...but it's all that's needed..you can easily add extra toppings. Sandwich itself would have got this place a 4 but the staff is always polite so I gave them a 5. 1000000x better than subway so I'll keep coming back. read more

We finally got the chance to check it out. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. The Prunedale Market is located along side the highway 101 freeway in the small town of Prunedale. It just takes a few long right turns to get there. Parking is easy and accessible out in the front parking lot. From the front, the market does not look like a popular BBQ spot. It looks like a simple small market store to grab quick snacks and drinks. Once inside there is a BBQ and deli section to your right. A small dining area is to your left. The decor is old fashioned and quaint. The 2 gentlemen greet you with friendly hospitality. We ordered the Tri tip sandwich, half slab of ribs which includes 2 potatoes and a cup of corn chowder. The pit master/owner Martin, who use to work for Original Joe's, was kind enough to also include a quarter chicken leg, a sausage, and extra ribs. It was so much food for our party of 3. Everything was delicious and hearty. The Tri tip sandwich was scrumptious with the flaming Fritos adding a nice crunchy texture and kick with every bite. The ribs were juicy and smokey. Potatoes complemented very well with the rest of the meat and chicken. Corn chowder was so tasty and creamy. I did not know corn chowder was that good. Overall we enjoyed our experience at the Prunedale Market. The staff were super nice and accommodating. They even offered for our son to grab some free ice cream to go. We politely declined. The prices were very reasonable. All that food fed us for the next 2 days. Lol. We hope to be back when we are in the area with other friends and family.

In December I had to have a surgery that put me on a soft/liquid diet for around 4 months. I continued going to the restaurant as they have a great selection of soups I can eat. The staff, who are simply the best, have now taken to making me mashed potatoes and polenta daily to help make sure I am getting good solid foods. Neither of these items are on their menu and this is an over and above level of kindness from a restaurant that really cares. We enjoyed, but I think we are just spoiled by New York style. Desserts are hit or miss - cookies and the brownie have a really good flavor, but crumbly - like almost too crumbly. You hold and it falls out of your hand. They were out of coconut cream pie - so my hubby got a lemon pie, it was fine. The waitstaff has always been pleasant and attentive! Best kept secret in Salinas South. Fresh salads with salad dressings mixed on site, sandwiches and wraps made to your liking, and I can never resist the rotisserie tri-tip (never served day old).
