This was our first time visiting this restaurant. My wife ordered the New York steak, which was cooked perfectly and had great flavor, along with mashed potatoes. However, the vegetables were overwhelmed with garlic, so much so that she couldn't eat them. My daughter had the French dip. The seasoning was a bit different but still pleasantly mild, and dipping it in the au jus really enhanced the flavor. She also had the sweet potato fries, which she enjoyed. I had the Cali Cubano with sweet potato fries. The Cubano was outstanding--everything came together with the right balance of ingredients and flavors. The service was fast and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm, friendly, and inviting. Overall, we enjoyed a great meal in a comfortable setting and would gladly recommend this restaurant.

We absolutely love this place! Been here for breakfast (most often), lunch, and dinner. Their food is full of flavor and there are so many options to choose from! The ambiance is casual and comforting. Their breakfast/lunch hours are busier & louder, but their dinner time is calm and quiet. Service is also great, you can truly sense the great teamwork ethic. Last night we enjoyed their chicken wrap and chicken avocado sandwich, delicious!

Great food and ambiance here. I love how bright and open it is. Their menu is so extensive they literally serve all types of dishes here. The service was quick and friendly. The server kept coming back to check on us and refill our coffee. I got the chicken apple sausage omelet with a side of hash browns and it was delicious. Also got the blueberry/pomegranate lemonade and it was so good! I can't wait to come back to try out new dishes. Highly recommend this place.

First time at 31st grill and am pleasantly surprised with how good the food and service is. Everything we ordered was good, but the standouts at the table were the lemon ricotta pancakes and pizza! They have a bakery section in the front too in case you need a sweet treat to go!

i went to the 31st grill over the summer and forgot to leave a review until now. First of all, they were just about to close but let us in and accommodated us perfectly. The staff were all so kind and welcoming. The cuban sandwich was amazing as well as the craft lemonades. they have a decadent menu with lots of options- it was hard for me to choose! I've never been impressed with food in the bay area, but i highly recommend this spot.

Amazing pastries and pies and cheesecakes. The breakfast was very good. We are planning on going back to just for dessert next pass through.

We got the French Dip. I thought it was flavorless. My husband said it was good. I won't go back.

Ask the Community - The 31st Grill

Does The 31st Grill sell their pies by the slice? Because I know you can order whole pies so i'm also wondering if they sell slices of their pies for takeout orders too

Yes they do. They also serve great burger too . I love their twice baked almond croissants.

Whats the date i was there?

I've been there three or four times since they opened. Most recently in mid May 2024

Growers has a good setup--the bar is very lively and full, but it's not the first thing you see when you walk in, as it's off to the side. We had a nice booth, complete with real flower in a glass, and were served promptly by a pleasant lady. She helped me choose my entree, and was attentive and accommodating throughout our meal. I had the chicken Marsala, which is the best I've ever had (and I often order it in restaurants.). My husband had the bone-in pork chop. We had crème brûlée for dessert. Everything was tasty and very well prepared. The restaurant has a very pleasant feel, with lots of dark wood and nice furniture. If I lived nearby I'd come often.

Also, my friend said this spot is known for their prime rib. I'll have to make it in one day to try for myself.

We ordered avocado toast, French toast, banana pecan pancake, house potatoes, and an Aperol spritzer. My avocado toast was served on a single very thick piece of bread, which had a very generous amount of avocado smash and was topped off with this delightful and fresh arugula salad. I added an over easy egg for an extra charge that was the perfect balance. The house salad was simple with butter lettuce, cherry tomatoes, radish, cucumber, with a light lemon house dressing that brought the salad together. It was refreshing. The French toast is pretty standard. Nothing that particularly stood out. The banana pecan pancake was delicious and shared with everyone at the table. The house potatoes were extra crispy on the outside but soft on the inside, which I found particularly satisfying. Overall, we had a pleasant experience and found Portabello's to be a good brunch spot in Salinas. The service was fast, the food portions were big, the food tasted fresh, and it was a nice ambiance. I would definitely return for the avocado toast and potatoes. Side note - I noticed Caesar Salad was misspelled on the menu as "Caeser"

The restaurant has a great drink selection and a great menu. We were pleasantly surprised to learn they offer a Tuesday dinner special that includes an appetizer, entrée, and dessert for only $32! This menu also had a special drink selection. I ordered the house salad, prawn risotto, and chocolate lava cake. The salad was very fresh with spring mix and butter lettuce, which I especially enjoy, and it was topped with a light vinaigrette style house dressing that was light and delicious. The prawn risotto was creamy, flavorful, and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. The chocolate lava cake was rich and very chocolatey, a bit too rich for my personal taste, but still enjoyable. It also came with vanilla gelato, which was delicious. As a table, we also ordered the tableside tiramisu, which was such a fun and unique experience. I am a tiramisu connoisseur, so anytime I see it on the menu, I ordered it. It is my favorite dessert. Although this was not my favorite one, I very much enjoyed the experience. I will mention the espresso needs a little more time to fully soak into the ladyfingers, but the presentation and experience alone made it worth trying. The ambiance was lovely with nice background music, and the service was attentive and welcoming. Everyone in our party truly enjoyed their meal, especially the birthday girl.
