    Pear bread pudding

Came in on a Saturday night, this place filled up really quick. My whole experience was great! I got the grilled salmon and my man got the prime rib steak, for appetizers we got calamari and for dessert we got the pear bread pudding. Everything was delicious! The food was 10/10, the service was 10/10- our server Donna was so sweet and amazing. However for cocktails I got an old fashion and it tasted very watered down. Overall my experience was amazing, I would come back if I was in the area.

4.5 Lived in Salinas about 8 years now and we've always said that we should try this place. It's just that the outside looks kinda dumpy, the sign broken at some point, and we don't go to bars and looked more like a bar. So, it was never high on our list. FINALLY went today! And surprised to see that it was nice in the inside. And has the original bar that's unique. The dining area was away from the bar and it wasn't loud, like being at Chilli's. The food was really good. Hubby got the Ribeye, his favorite cut and usually picky about it. And this was a winner to him. I enjoyed my Halibut. Also got the calamari as an appetizer, it wasn't rubbery and it was good, but I've had better. The salad that came with dinner could be better, and the blue cheese was on the "sweeter" side which is not for me. Hence the 4.5, the service was excellent! They clear out your tables pretty quick and the drinks filled promptly. We took home a carrot cake. It's not going to win any awards, but it was enjoyable. Nothing over powering in it, and it was moist. Would definitely come back again. You should give it a try!

Bone-in Pork Chop - quite good

The Lunch Menu ends at 3 pm -- Sharp! Even if one walks in a few minutes after three o'clock, dinner does not start until 4 pm, yet one must order from their Dinner Menu. Dinner selections come with a salad and bread service, both of which left something to be desired. Both salads were small and lacking, but did include one-half of a cherry tomato. We were told the bread would not arrive for 20 more minutes, as it was still baking. Their Lobster Ravioli was rather disappointing as it was a very small portion and the ravioli was not well-filled. A couple of shrimp are included on the side of this dish. This is perhaps to make up for the absent lobster meat. On a positive note, the thick-cut pork chop had a good flavor but was not succulent. Roasted potatoes and spinach drenched the dish with onion rosemary-mustard red wine sauce.

Bread, butter and a wonderfully fresh salad with mango vinaigrette !

Review update: I've been coming to The Grower's Pub for 9 years. I am still wildly impressed as they fail to disappoint. While the menu has changed over time along with the staff--one this is for sure... quality has never waivered. The food is always delicious, the service is excellent and you simply can't duplicate this experience anywhere else. I look forward to every visit here with friends or family and I highly recommend it to anyone who has had the misfortune of never experiencing it. I'm just updating this review to say... it's still phenomenally good!

This is a really nice pub! It has a vintage feel to it. The steak was cooked a perfect medium rare. The porkchop was also fabulous. Service was wonderful. The prices were reasonable given that this is an upscale pub.

Growers Pub - Old Town Salinas If you're ever craving classic steakhouse vibes with top-tier flavor, this is your spot. We kicked things off with their crispy Coconut Shrimp--perfectly golden and paired with a sweet chili mango sauce that hits just right. I went with the Prime Rib, and it was everything a cut of beef should be--tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. My wife ordered the Flat Iron Steak topped with blue cheese and wine sauce--bold, rich, and cooked perfectly. And yes, we saved room for dessert. Their Bread Pudding with ice cream? A must. Warm, gooey, and drizzled in caramel--it was the perfect sweet finish. Service was solid, ambiance was relaxed, and the food was straight-up fire. Definitely coming back. The place give an old school vibe lots of wood half moon booths with black and white photos on the wall. Service was quick and have the specials right as we sat. Very friendly and helpful server. Ordered a filet mignon special "surf & turf& filet with shrimp the scalloped potatoes were recommended so I went with that. Hubby ordered the 20oz rib eye. Appetizer is potato skins. Potato's skins were simple and tasty. Very filling I'd definitely recommend but also say skip at the same time to save room. But don't skip for lack of yumminess. Bacon cheese green onion all melted on a crispy potato skins, so good. The Diet Coke is flat and not good. Refills are free but Diet Coke wasn't good at all. Bread is served at the table. Warm sourdough bread with 3 balls of butter so good warm! The salad came out first it was very basic only 1half of a cherry tomato. The ranch lacked flavor. Very sad dinner salad would skip. My filet mignon was excellent may be the best I've ever had. Seasoned to perfection and cut like butter. The scallops potato's were very good. The mashed potato's nice and fluffy. Hubby said his ribeye was one didn't like the seasoning on it. Veggies cooked perfectly. Ordered a pineapple upside down cake. Pineapple upside down cake served with a side of vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce on the side. It was light and not overly sweet. The pineapple was hard to cut though. But delicious and would highly recommend. Wish I tried 2 other desserts but my stomach couldn't stomach it. Dinner was fabulous over all with the exception of the dinner salad. Order the dessert don't forget the warm bread order the filet mignon! All excellent and with it

    Steak cooked was perfectly!

The best in Monterey county. You have to order the skirt steak it's a must. The prime rib is also very exceptional as well. 10/10

Not NYC good but better than most CA pizza which is just California over dramatized as I like to put it. We also had The friend cauliflower and broccoli which was also delicious and a yummy. Again really surprised. The beer is good and very potent...2X or greater compared to other beers. I like it. It I have had seriously better but their beer is no slouch either. Service was good albeit slow at the bar. Seems they are one short if they are going to heavy food service at the bar but it was a Friday. The barista was nice though and nice goes a long way in any occasion. Ambiance is. Ice and it was definitely an old, old bank with vaulted ceilings. I absolutely love wide open areas and this placed used the space really well which made for comfy yet spacious feeling. Well done. Nothing I could really find wrong. I liked it and it was really nice. Definitely worth a visit but parking can be an issue in busy weekends.

He just stands there, staring at patrons as they sit waiting for drinks while the line gets longer and longer. Bartending is clearly not their jam. They have no signature cocktails, and the cocktails they do make are pretty bad. The karaoke is pretty egregious, it's like a guy who likes to sing poorly decided he wanted to set up karaoke just so he had a reason to sing sometimes and make other people listen to it.
