Went in this morning for a coffee and a place to work at. I ordered an iced shaken espresso with vanilla syrup- so yummy!!! They were playing Spanish music which I really enjoyed (Juan Gabriel I love you). Salma was super helpful and kind. Great vibes overall!!! read more

I had a black tea which was tasty. The bathrooms were terrible shape with no toilet paper or paper towels. The sink is gross and needs replacing. I was told there is a roll of toilet paper sitting outside the bathroom on top of canisters which is unsanitary. read more

Service was mediocre at best, 2 girls working behind the counter and neither could bring themselves to start working on my order. Either they did not know how to prepare the drink and were buying time until they figured out how to make a Mexican mocha or honestly I have no clue what their issue was. 2 individuals came in after me and received their coffee order before I did and their only response to me when I asked when my order would be done was "soon" and yet again neither girl started working on the order .... Beer and coffee sign me up! I grabbed the first street parking stall i saw. The concept is simple beer or coffee. At 11am i went with an Americano i was pleased it is smooth. The barista made sure my order was correct, I appreciate that because it doesn't always happen. The drinks came up quick. They have a stage for live music and plenty of different settings for pairs or a small group. You can even sit in the front window. What a pleasant shop and I hope to be back. read more

This was crazy to watch.. A customer dropped their coffee and the barista came out to "clean it up." It appeared the customer offered to clean up and the barista happily provided the customer the mop, brought the bucket, and left to the counter to make him a coffee. All while another barista was watching the entire ordeal. Im sure the customer would've happily waited for both. The work ethic is pathetic and painful to watch. Please train the baristas what customer service is. Aside from that, coffee is on point. read more

Whenever I want coffee, I choose this place. I'm not sad to say that today's visit will be my last. I've been coming here since they opened and over the years I've seen a noticeable decline in the overall existence of this place. I came in today, Sunday, June 28, 2026 at approximately 2:30 pm. Came in with my son. We placed our order: 1 Mexican mocha and 1 caramel macchiato, both medium. Paid and left a tip. The bill was almost $20. My son's drink was made first. I noticed that his was iced so I looked to see how the girl was making mine. She had a clear cup so I knew she was going to make an iced one for me, which I didn't want. The only thing that was in the cup when I stopped her was the caramel. I politely asked her for a hot one. She looked at me with an annoyed look, then she looked at her coworker, a male with black fingernails, and said "she wanted it hot". She proceeded to make my drink. She made it as if she was slamming the ingredients in the cup. When she gave me my drink she said with major attitude, "next time you need to tell them that you want a hot drink when you order". So I replied, " well usually the person who takes my order asks if I want it hot or cold". There will NOT be a next time because I will NEVER step foot in this place again! With the exception of 3 people sitting at different locations, we were the only ones in there. The customer service here is nonexistent! Perhaps if the workers were a little more pleasant and didn't make the customer feel like they're a burden, maybe they'd have more business. When we were walking out, my son even noticed the ugly attitude and told me that's why he stopped coming here. He said that every time he came in, one of the workers had an attitude. He now chooses Brewjee coffee just a block away. I will follow suit and start patronizing BREWJEE coffee from now on. read more

We came on a Saturday morning around 11:30. There was a sizable line that continued to grow. We specifically came to try their Mexican mocha & were disappointed to hear they couldn't make it once we got to the front of the line. We were also told they couldn't make a chai latte or either of their 2 seasonal maple lattes. We saw that customers waiting ahead of us were informed they weren't able to get their ordered beverage anymore. (Unable to provide that many menu items at this time?!) It was at least a 20 min wait for our 2 large drinks once we ordered. We settled for a pumpkin spice latte and mocha, which were enjoyable enough. The PSL had a lingering spice and subtle sweetness. The mocha had a gentle chocolate flavor and was a little fruity. We also had a pumpkin muffin, and while it had good texture & taste, it didn't really have a pumpkin flavor at all. Alas, none of the flavors were that compelling to me. The customer service wasn't particularly friendly or welcoming. They just seemed too busy. The menu on a tv screen wasn't the easiest to read, and only listed the prices for size small. The price for the seasonal specials were also not visually displayed. The atmosphere was cute. The clientele was diverse. I found the music a little loud in spots for conversation. There were high and regular table options, a small bar, couches in their glass window front and in the back, and one table set up outside. I love the vibe of this place. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. The employees are very knowledgeable and answer any questions I might've had. I ordered an iced Mexican mocha and it was out of this world delicious. It wasn't too sweet and it wasn't too bitter. They had just the right amount of ice to drink. The place itself is super clean, well-maintained, and beautifully decorated. There are plenty of places to sit, and they even have a little space towards the back for live music. We went on a Thursday mid day, and the barista was very focused and got everybody's drinks out in a timely manner. After studying Salinas YELP! listings, we settled on the Beerded Bean and were looking forward to trying their highly touted coffee and baked goods. We arrived at around 9:30 Sunday morning to find "the owner hadn't delivered them yet." Hmmmmm. The entryway was also strewn with apparent homeless garbage that no one had bothered to clean up. Stopped here because it was close to 101 and I was road-tripping. Man am I glad stopped! Chill service and vibes throughout the whole place. The place was basically empty because I needed my 7am caffeine fix but the service and coffee was still on point. I'd def recommend the Dulce Latte. Their large is a great size (I think 24oz but don't quote me on that). Im sad I'm an out of towner because this looks like THE spot to kick it in Salinas. Stopped in this place for a quick coffee after the Salinas Farmers Market and I ended up ordering the Mexican Mocha which was delicious. It had a lot of cinnamon on it and was really tasty. It did take a little while for them to make - but you know this isn't a soulless coffee chain and could taste that everything was prepared freshly. I love the concept of this - think if I lived in this town, it would be a hangout. I don't know how the beer is but the coffee I had was great. Another Salinas casualty? It's happening, something good that started in Salinas is slowly falling apart. Every Saturday for years a handful of men have met here since they opened it's doors. We all had hopes of a forever coffee spot. Nope this isn't it. This morning will be our last morning here. Non-verbal girl at the register, no hello, no good morning or thank you. But I did get a "my bad" when I had to repeat my order of " medium black coffee. " I thinking she had to get back to her udon noodles before they got cold. Slurping between customers. The breakfast sandwich are no longer a thing or are they? Out! They don't play a nice background music anymore it's now a constant droning of rap that plays above your conversation. 11/19/22 bathrooms are out of order,again. So were told. It's a coffee shop. A coffee shop/taproom sounds great and I would probably have rated it higher save for the fact that: 1) I'm not a coffee drinker 2) I didn't drink the beer there. I mean, it was the morning and I was driving so I wasn't going to get a morning eye opener. I did end up getting an Arnold Palmer and it was decent, but it had a ton of ice in it so I finished it before I even got to my car. First time visit yesterday while in town visiting daughter-in-law's grandparents. Stopped by here after brunch across the street. Now, I don't drink coffee or beers, but the overall feel was inviting and unique. Liked the other all experience. Order iced green tea. Another place that tells me they don't service that. Pointed out they have ice and hot green tea so asked for one cup of each and got that. Worked out fine. I do know there is a difference between having iced tea pre-prepped and refrigerated and having to wait a bit for brewed tea. No everyone drinks so it would be nice to get more options or at least let people know iced is an option if a few minutes to prepare is okay. UPSELL. :-) The interior is very welcoming and why I am in the solid 4 star range. Good job on that. Wish I was here for music as I see a small stage and a lot of music decor. But even with two baristas, the wait was over 10 minutes after we ordered our drinks. The Chai latte was straight awful. Great place for a quick pitstop in downtown Salinas. Friendly personal with the great morning brews suggestions makes you feel homey. Open during the pandemic with outside seating. This coffeehouse/brew house is my work-hours spot to grab a London Fog. This is a place has classic coffee shop vibes (usually folks on computers & hanging out). They sell snacks and branded clothes/glasses. I've never seen anyone perform, but there is a stage here as well. It's pricey ($4 for tea), but it's tasty. read more
