I'm really disappointed by the experience my husband had here this evening. He drove about 30 minutes specifically to relax, enjoy a burger and a pizookie, and watch a hockey game at the bar. After sitting down, he politely asked if the game could be turned on. When it finally was, both the bartender and several patrons openly complained about it being on. That reaction was not only unnecessary, but it created an uncomfortable and unwelcoming atmosphere. No one should feel like a burden for simply wanting to watch a game in a restaurant setting--especially while seated at the bar, where that's a pretty common expectation. Because of how awkward the situation became, he ended up just ordering a soda and leaving instead of staying for the meal he had planned. It's unfortunate, because we've had better experiences in the past, but this interaction really left a negative impression. We waited around 10 more minutes for extra plates to share, but no one brought them, so we had to go to the server station and get them ourselves. After that, it took another 20 minutes just to receive to-go boxes. In the end, we had to scan the QR code and pay on our own due to the lack of service. We also observed multiple tables leave after waiting over 30 minutes, unable to get a staff member's attention just to place an order. Our waiter appeared distracted and disengaged, which made the experience feel unprofessional and uncomfortable. We did see the store manager speaking with and apologizing to another table, but from what we observed, there was no effective follow-up or improvement in service afterward. Because of the lack of service throughout the entire visit, we did not feel the service warranted a tip. Why have waitstaff at all if customers are forced to serve themselves? You might as well operate this as a self-service restaurant. If you're traveling with a pet, this place is definitely pet friendly and they go above and beyond to accommodate their customers needs. It is rainy day and windy and even though they have the outside patio, they let us stay indoor with our pet "Fritz" to ensure we are not eating with the not so great weather Our table was secluded away from the main dining area. Our table didn't have utensils or napkins, and we had to ask another staff member to bring them. When our drinks arrived, one of the cocktails had what appeared to be a rhinestone or foreign object inside, which was concerning. The food issues were even more troubling. The broccoli served on two separate dishes had visible black spots and what appeared to be mold. When I brought this up, I was told it was due to oxidation, which didn't align with what I was seeing. I flagged it to another server, who said they would inform a manager, but no one came. About 25 minutes later, our original server returned, and I had to explain the situation again, she removed another affected dish, but still no manager addressed us. We then waited another 20 minutes while a manager stood nearby speaking with staff but never approached our table. I felt bad for our server, as she was repeatedly sent to handle an issue that clearly required management involvement. In total, I had to send back three plates. My intention wasn't to avoid paying, I was more concerned about bringing a potential food quality issue to their attention so it could be addressed before affecting other guests. Instead, I felt dismissed. The situation was handled in a way that came across as minimizing my concerns, even after I showed the food as proof. Overall, the experience felt disorganized, the wait times were excessive, and the lack of accountability from management was disappointing. I want to be clear. This review is for the pizza. We come to BJ's often but had never ordered their pizza. We decided to try it tonight. We got the deep dish. All mushrooms, one half pepperoni, the other half sausage. It was delivered as ordered and hot. It looked good. It was very disappointing. It is glorified cheese bread. Not pizza. The crust had no crunchy element at all. Just doughy, like bread. The sauce was missing. There was the slightest hint of sauce as if they painted it in so it photographed well. The cheese was not browned, but it was melted. The toppings were all on top of the cheese, so they rolled off when we ate it. No seasoning or anything that reminded me of pizza. Made a reservation ahead of time since it was a couple of us going. Half of our party was sat while waiting for the rest to arrive. Everything went smoothly. We tried a few of their drinks. I got their cheeseburger which was surprisingly good. It had a different sauce in it, which I didn't realize until I got it, but it ended up being pretty good. We also tried their salmon which was delicious. I also tried their Caesar which was okay, nothing special, and tried their salted caramel pizookie since I got their $13 meal. I definitely think it's worth it, and will be going back! It is located in a shopping center with plenty of parking and other stores/ restaurants nearby. The World Series and a basketball game were on, so it was definitely loud. The service was okay. My complaint unfortunately is the service I saw when I pulled up how crowded it was, and it seemed very unorganized. I decided to do a carryout order for my children. I did three orders the time to wait for the orders to be prepared was not the issue. It was once the orders were ready and trying to pick up the orders that was the issue when one of my oldest children brought the food to the car and we looked in the bag there was no silverware. There was no butter, no salt. The items that I requested were not in the bag. I sent my daughter back and asked her to ask them for an extra ranch butter silverware. She was told it was in the bag didn't open in the bag, however, if I'm looking in the bag and it's not in there. Common sense would say let me just give them another one. Let me give them some more silverware. Let me give them the items they're requesting because obviously it's not in the bag just to go back in and get the silverware for some reason took over 15 minutes so of course now the majority of the food is now getting cold. I ordered pasta with protein with mashed potatoes. I ordered pasta with protein with broccoli. The broccoli was totally overcooked and for those who think children do not know when vegetables are overcooked it's hard enough getting them to eat it when it's cooked right when it's overcooked it's even worse and I ordered chicken tenders with fries that was over $30. I was very disappointed and my daughter said they were confusing orders inside when she was picking up this so I know they didn't know what they were doing and I was disappointed that they just couldn't give her the self-aware why make big deal I've given someone a fork. Waited another 30 minutes to even order and then 20 minutes for the food. The pizza was literally so oily it was soaked. I understand pizza is greasy but it was like it was sitting in oil. Dripping. Then the steaks come for my dad and boyfriend. Both ribeyes one medium the other medium well. Both arrived well done. We asked for them to fix it and they took it back, brought out two more, and both still well done. I Used to go to BJ's for lunch, always on weekdays not Friday. so not crowded. Food and drink is really good. About 2 or 3 years ago they started with playing this music REALLY REALLY loud. at least in the lounge area. so loud you cant hear the conversation at your table. Manger Claims it is company policy. yeah right. Why are we sitting in the lounge area? because about 2 or 3 years ago the waitress service became a problem too. So we have to get u p and get stuff like ketchup, beer , napkins, etc. The waitress serves the meal, and disappears never to be seen again. this has happened at least the last 8 or 9 times i have gone there. So slow, inattentive service, forgotten orders, and brutally loud music. I get it they play the music loud for the night crowd, but it is lunch time , give me a break. and the assistant manager turns down the music like 3 decibels after you complain 2 times and the table next to yours is complaining too. so not really a policy. but she won't turn it down enough. bogus. I have been going to this establishment for awhile. The food has gone from bad to worse. Service at the Bar area is good. I oedered a Smokehouse burger Medium and after 30 minutes a burger resembling shoe leather arrived. I couldn't even cut it is was so well done. A new one was ordered and 30 minutes later again a duplicate of the first arrived. Ordered a 3rd ond and in 30 minutes a burger arrived that had the feeling of the cook saying here take this A##%&^$e as it was raw. Last Night I ordered the 40$ Prime rib special Medium Rare a normal way to ask for prime rib right? well it was cold in the core and raw uncooked meat that a sawzall wouldn't even cut. The Server agreed and ordered me a new meal it arrived with the Manager bringing it to me. I immediately said to him that it was identical to the last piece and his answer was well it is the same its one roast. I told him the core temperature needs to be at 128 degrees to reach medium rare and the center was cold not even 50 degrees. He got angry and said I didn't know how to order and I should have ordered well done. Manager stormed away cursing under his breath that i was ignorant.
