    Chicken pasta
    Evelyn Janelle R.

I visited this restaurant with my family on Wednesday. My cousin and I both ordered the chicken pasta, while my uncle ordered the shrimp pasta. Both my cousin and I became sick with symptoms of food poisoning on Friday while my uncle did not experience any issues. Since the two of us ate the same dish and were the only ones who became sick, we know it was the chicken pasta. This was a very unpleasant experience and something I felt other customers should be aware of. I hope the restaurant reviews its food handling and preparation procedures to help prevent similar situations because we're going through it and it SUCKS. This is what we ordered, I got the blackened chicken and she got the regular chicken.

For people who don't understand: So my father has onion allergy, and black pepper in past when he was younger he could eat them no issue, just these days cause stomach upset, gas and pain. Food was ok Service needs someone to monitor it. Reasoning: food arrival, drink arrival and making certain ppl are happy My brother reasoning I was too fat, and I should stayed home, and they would got better service, he does this everywhere we go. That is reason I got alcoholic beverage.(first drink in 12 months) He is telling me at table: don't buy anything, you clearly don't need it. He carpooled with us. Food: Bread might want not serve sourdough in summer because stale ratio is bigger, Multigrain, parm cheese bread, or vegetable type breads might be better, house made sourdough by wild yeast is crave. Trio is bigger than Olive garden's trio. Lasagna you might need to make crustier and soupy standard. Chunky and leave for imagination if you had vegetable + meat type, it be super win. noodle addition could I have changed it? Alfredo did not have any flavor, missing: nutmeg, parsley, and pepper. Drinks: I recall my sister-in-law requested a water never received it. Free refills were late. Alcohol beverages help numb the stress. I prefer if they had decaf coffee drinks next time. Ambiance the area where depending on other table groups it was loud, and when there weren't another table near it was quiet. The area where we at it was bright, and roomy.

So delighted to report a very successful sixth birthday. Emelia was quick to note the birthday and help us while seated in the bar. We've been coming for years and while the change in ownership was bumpy for a bit... They have it right.

Beef ragu gnocchi special is rich, so if you're not drinking wine cut the heaviness with iced tea. For a family, I recommend the Luigi's Pride pizza. I also liked the ribeye special. The beef stew with polenta is comfort food. The iced cappuccino could be stronger, so we ended up ordering a couple of espresso shots to add as the ice melted.

Cannoli rolled like a lumpia. Huh?

The restaurant has a great drink selection and a great menu. We were pleasantly surprised to learn they offer a Tuesday dinner special that includes an appetizer, entrée, and dessert for only $32! This menu also had a special drink selection. I ordered the house salad, prawn risotto, and chocolate lava cake. The salad was very fresh with spring mix and butter lettuce, which I especially enjoy, and it was topped with a light vinaigrette style house dressing that was light and delicious. The prawn risotto was creamy, flavorful, and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. The chocolate lava cake was rich and very chocolatey, a bit too rich for my personal taste, but still enjoyable. It also came with vanilla gelato, which was delicious. As a table, we also ordered the tableside tiramisu, which was such a fun and unique experience. I am a tiramisu connoisseur, so anytime I see it on the menu, I ordered it. It is my favorite dessert. Although this was not my favorite one, I very much enjoyed the experience. I will mention the espresso needs a little more time to fully soak into the ladyfingers, but the presentation and experience alone made it worth trying. The ambiance was lovely with nice background music, and the service was attentive and welcoming. Everyone in our party truly enjoyed their meal, especially the birthday girl. Overall, Patria is a fantastic dinner spot in Salinas, and I would absolutely return and highly recommend it.

I'm glad to report that last night had some music in the bar, it was soft and sounded like Italian folk (Frank Sinatra would've been nice too) but it was perfectly fine because it broke up the atmosphere in a positive way. Calamari appetizer was great and my pork chop was too. Service was equally great as it was prompt and accompanied. I'll be back soon, so if you haven't tried Patria yet, you should.

We covered drinks in honor of Boss's Day. Service was ok -- the couple running the place were attentive, though they preferred to point you to QR codes over talking directly to you (not my favorite). Unfortunately, the customer service judgment was a bit poor. When we politely asked to lower the music briefly for a short announcement, we were told it "wouldn't be fair to other customers." There were only a few others there, five perhaps and not deeply engaged in listening to music. A small act of courtesy could've gone a long way. Old Town Salinas thrives when businesses and community support each other.
