Stopped by for a wine tasting with my family. Ended up ordering a few bottles instead, and hung out on their outdoor wine garden for probably 2-3 hours. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is phenomenal in their outdoor spaces.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]You have a great view of the mountains while sharing wine with family and friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would recommend it.

Folktale was sadly a huge disappointment. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Folktale is a beautiful place and the charcuterie boards were excellent[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], however, the customer service was underwhelming. We were looking forward to great service, nice wine, and a relaxing ambiance. Instead we were given a server who was dry, rude and vague when explaining the wine. He was chit chatting the ENTIRE time with his coworkers and other tables but seemed to avoid us? The time between the pours was ridiculously long.

This is the menu they are currently serving since they are under construction. I understand being under construction but not posting a VERY limited menu on the website is extremely disappointing especially since we drove two hours out! We had previously visited last year & we loved it & food was amazing & we were absolutely looking forward to it again but like I said if they had posted it on their website that they are only serving limited items it would've saved us the trip!

I've been here before and loved the experience! Right now I think they're doing a remodel.. not sure but the new set up is awful. The portable bathrooms were all flooded. The service wasn't great. It took a while just to get water and get out taken. Our server seemed so annoyed and we overheard them complaining about the winery being so busy. I hope the original set up opens again because this place has so much potential!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Initially hesitant on visiting since the famous castle is under renovation but they did a great job with set up outside for tastings.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You still get all the views, service, and wine! Just a different setting. Did the signature flight for $45 each. I will say the bees are VERY friendly here. Don't order charcuterie unless you want a ton of bees near you.

We came to celebrate Mother's Day at this winery and left deeply disappointed. First, we waited 15 minutes to be seated, even though about half of the tables were empty. Then we sat at our table for another 20 minutes without a single staff member approaching us -- not even to say hello, ask whether we wanted a tasting, a bottle of wine, or some food. At one point, two employees spent several minutes opening an umbrella for a nearby table. Honestly, that umbrella received more attention than we did. The servers were actively working with neighboring groups, often with their backs to us, and there was no opportunity even to wave someone down. Eventually, one employee briefly told us, "I'll be right with you, we're short staffed," but it didn't sound apologetic at all. He immediately started a tasting for another group, poured them wine, and disappeared again without taking our order or even asking how we were doing. If you are understaffed on a busy holiday like Mother's Day, customers should be warned about the expected wait time in advance. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are many wineries in the area, and no matter how beautiful the location is, the service completely ruined the experience for us.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In the end, we simply got up and left -- and there wasn't even anyone available to speak to about it.

Beautiful setup and they have live music at Sunday brunch. Service was very good. Plenty of water supply and they take photos for you. We had a brunch reservation and it was dining outdoor in the backyard. We were lucky that it was a very sunny and warm day, but as we linger, it got hotter and hotter and no umbrella can do the shielding. I wish that we could be seated in the glass ceiling indoor area where you got the light but not the heat. We tried the Signature Flight where I did not try all the wine but the estate Chardonnay was decent, not the oaky creamy kind but with a crisp taste; it was perfect for a hot day. For food, we had the artichoke dip, the chef's mind flat bread, which was BBQ brisket with pickled onions, French toast and the Bigoli Pasta Bolognese. Overall it was too much carb for us. The artichoke dip was very very creamy and rich, which is good for the thick bread as it needs a thick texture to absorb the richness. The brisket and pickled onion flatbread is good, but I wish it had a bit more meat as the meat was too finely chopped. The pasta had an interesting shape like thick round spaghetti. I did not try the French toast but the fruit on top was fresh. The facility was clean and well decorated for the season. Next time I should try their red wine. Interestingly, by the time we left which was around 12:30 their gate was closing. Live band music stops at 1pm, so not sure if there's no more wine tasting afterwards or they just open by reservation only.

I was in the area for a birthday solo trip and this had popped up on social media. I decided to stop in after a hike in Point Lobos nearby and showed up around noon on a Monday. I was quoted a 30 minute wait only because they were catching up with the wait staff, but seated me within 15 minutes. Everyone was seated outside because it was a lovely, gorgeous sunny day. There are bees and other insects nearby due to the pretty garden nearby, and I did end up using my little clipboard of my wine tasting menu to nudge them away. My waitress was fantastic and she gave me amazing recommendations. I tried one of the wine tastings and she gave me an extra tasting of their most popular wine because I had said it was my first time here! What a nice surprise! She recommended both the Roasted Cauliflower salad and the Castroville Artichoke dip. Let me tell you. The food and the wine were very good, but the artichoke dip was OUT OF THIS WORLD. I'm still thinking about it a few weeks later. It's literally the best artichoke dip I've ever had and my waitress laughed and said that's something she hears very often. Artichoke flavor was perfect, the creaminess was perfect, the toasted pieces of bread were perfect!!!! I mentioned this place to a few friends but said that if we went together, we'll have to order at least two because one whole artichoke dip will be for me. Definitely recommend. Wish I lived closer so I could experience the live music they have!

Great outdoor setting. Best in Carmel Valley, but service and food suffering. "Prepackaged Culinary Selections". Mediocre and not impressive appearing. Although very friendly, Servers are hard to find. Wine and events are good.

A girlfriend is a club member and made a reservation for 2pm on a Saturday to celbebrate my Birthday. We were seated right away at a table outside with bench seat style, far enough from the live music, and under partial shade which was great since the sun was beaming. We were greeting right away by a familiar server of my friends, his name Amir, where he brought some Rose to start with. I am not normally partial to Rose, but was actually very good. Amir was very attentive and although he had other tables we never waited long for him to return and really enjoyed his humor and outgoing personality. He made several wine and menu selections, which ended up being great advice as we absolutely LOVED all the wine and food that came out. For wine we both settled on the Hound, which was a very smooth bourdeaux blend, very nice! For food we had the artichoke dip, Mind of a Chef flatbread and shared the Crush burger, substituted caesar salad instead of chips. When I tell you I say the food was hands down top notch, melt in your mouth good, doesn't get any better, zero complaints!! EVERYTHING was so delicious!! Then Amir even brought a Birthday dessert, with a candle and sang Happy Birthday with my friend. It was a chocolate dessert and very tasty! The ambiance is charming, the service Amir provided was perfect, and the food was phenominal! The manager even stopped by to check on how our service was and couldn't rave enoigh how great Amir was. THIS is the type of establishment that would earn a membership from me or at least repeat visits, eventhough I don't live very close. They are doing everything right and I highly recommend!

Wow wow wow I am so happy my mom and I found this place! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We went during live music, which it sounds like they have almost daily.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The views were stunning and the wine was delicious, but the best part was our wine connoisseur Sarah![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She brought us tasters of an AMAZING sparkling rose to start and we immediately got a bottle and joined the wine club (a great deal for some great wines). She listened to what we liked and brought us a great variety to sample, including a fermented wine (kind of like kombucha), an orange wine, and a delicious red blend. She even went digging for a popular Super Tuscan in case there were any bottles left of the limited batch but they were out :( [[HIGHLIGHT]]10/10 experience! Great service, gorgeous environment, friendly guests, live music, and the perfect place to play a board game or catch up with a friend.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Our tour guide Sha and overall experience was amazing! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Although the winery is under some renovation, they really make it feel special and show you the ins and outs, the plans, and more![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We walked through the barrel room, were able to chat with one of the chemists and tried wine right from the barrel! This was the first wine tour where I've been able to do that. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful table to sit at and enjoy the rest of the wines and great charcuterie.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Sha answered all of our questions and was a blast to be around! Thank you

We visited there on the recommendation from a sommelier in Paso Robles based on their excellent sparkling wines. You have choice of ordering a glass of any of the wines or the tasting flight. My partner decided to go with a glass of the Brut Rose whilst I chose the tasting flight (5 wines for $40). All of the wines here are expertly made and of a beautiful style. I can't say there wasn't a wine here that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. The Brut Rose is a beautiful champagne style rose. The Rose of Pinot Noir was also excellent. A fantastic light yet flavorful wine. The chardonnay was also excellent and of a beautiful style with just a touch of oak. Next was their Passetoutgrain, which is a blend of gamay noir and pinot noir. Also in the tasting were two pinot noirs, the base pinot noir and the El Bec. Both were beautiful expressions of pinot noir. Wonderful balance of fruit, earth and spice. Finally, we had to try the Brut Cuvee, which is only offered by the glass. A truly beautiful wine reminiscent of the Champagne region. Service was from a couple of friendly and very knowledgeable attendants. The glassware here is beautiful and perfect for the wine served. The wines were all served at the proper temperature. And the pours were of a generous volume such that you could fully experience the wines. If you're in Carmel, you owe it to yourself to visit Caraccioli.

If you are considering Holly Farm as the venue for your wedding, and you just want the tl;dr, then…read morehere are my three most important suggestions for you: 1) You should absolutely go with Holly Farm. 2) You should accept every piece of advice Erin, Ryan, and the rest of the incredible team have for you along the way. 3) You should start getting excited right now about La Creme because their food is out of this world. Picking Holly Farm as our venue was the first choice we made in our wedding planning process, and trust me when I say that it was by far the best one. The pictures speak for themselves, and yes, it's as amazing as it looks (though if you haven't visited, you should take the excuse - it's truly stunning in person), but the real game changer is the team. The Holly Farm fam has been at this for decades, and it SHOWS. They cater to your needs and your vision, whether you want to be super hands on and into the nitty gritty on everything, or whether you want somebody to completely take the reins for you. We were so so appreciative for Erin's help during the planning process; any time we were stuck on something, she had a recommendation ready that was never just "off the shelf". We didn't want to be totally consumed by wedding planning all the time, and even though Erin had a big list of vendors ready to go, we were more than happy to listen every time she said "here's the 2 who I think you guys would love". It's really really telling to me that every single vendor we spoke to - without exception, including the ones we didn't end up choosing - all said some version of the same thing: "oh man I LOVE doing weddings at Holly Farm". Here's what I'll say about the weekend itself - it truly feels like you are staying at a luxury resort where you and your friends are the only guests. The entire staff is so attentive, so friendly, and they take care of all the details and logistics so that your only job really is to just enjoy the weekend and stay relaxed. We cooked a huge friends and family dinner in the Adobe and they cleaned the entire kitchen for us! Anytime we were hanging out in the evenings they rolled the portable heaters up without us asking! They moved our rental equipment around to make cool outdoor spaces for us so that we could get more use out of it than just the wedding itself! And nothing felt so satisfying as passing by Ryan on a path and hearing "hey I just lit your fireplace for you!". Of everything we loved about our wedding, the thing we loved most was getting to have this full weekend experience with our closest friends and family in one place, made truly special by the care the entire Holly Farm team put into making us feel at ease and at home. And one final thing - lest I leave you with the impression that this is only about good vibes - the operations for the wedding itself were incredible. Every vendor knows the team and knows the venue, everything works like clockwork without you having to supervise anything, and Erin, Ryan, and their staff have things so tightly coordinated that we didn't have to stress about logistics at all once the weekend got started. I can't emphasize enough how big a difference that made to us compared to some horror stories we'd heard from other weddings. Here are some final quick hits on other things you might be wondering about - but seriously, pick Holly Farm: - I didn't write an entire review for Tamie and La Creme, because it would be just as long, but they do amazing work. This is straight up excellent food, not excellent "wedding" food. - The rooms and buildings are very cool and very comfortable. - Yes, the Paraiso suite is "open air". Yes, it really does stay warm. Having a roaring fire in there, plus a heated blanket on the bed....A+. - The optional River House for extra space is definitely walkable (~3 mins), but it's nice to have flashlights at night. - Having the flexibility to use the space however you want for the entire weekend is a highly highly underrated perk. We had people hanging out on Thursday and Friday and it was a ton of fun. Highly recommend making plans that utilize the space every day. - We were nervous about the higher cost at first, but asking friends and family who stayed on site to pay for rooms turned out to not be a very big deal, and what we charged them was still way less than area hotels. - The music has to switch from DJ's speakers to house speakers at 9:30pm, but the house speakers can stay on all night if you want. We had just as much fun after the switchover. - No curfew is also a huge perk not to overlook. Erin and Ryan if you're reading this THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN YOU GUYS ARE ROCK STARS!!

Our wedding was an absolute dream come true. The love we had for each other and for our family and friends that traveled from across the country to celebrate with us was reflected in the beauty and spirit of Holly Farm and all of the wonderful folks that work there. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the warmth and charm of the space. It was as if every inch of the venue was designed to make us and our guests feel at home, while still capturing an elevated, magical atmosphere that was simply unforgettable. Everyone at Holly Farm went above and beyond to ensure each detail of our wedding weekend was flawless. Their attention to detail was extraordinary, and it was clear they genuinely cared about making our day perfect. Ryan and Erin were so caring and attentive, and they made us feel like family. They were there for every little detail and made us feel completely at ease. The food, catered by La Creme, was nothing short of five star restaurant quality. We've received countless compliments from our guests about how delicious everything was! This was a big deal, especially coming from our families who are used to extravagant New Jersey weddings with an abundance of food. They all told us it was the best wedding food they'd ever had, which is about the highest praise you can get from a family who knows food! Everything about The Holly Farm was perfect--from the gorgeous, tropical setting that felt like a hidden paradise against the coastal backdrop of Carmel to the impeccable service and food. We couldn't have imagined a more beautiful, heartfelt, and memorable experience, and our friends and family STILL haven't stopped raving about it! Our wedding weekend was made even more special thanks to the onsite haciendas where we, along with some of our close friends, stayed. The houses were cozy yet luxurious, and perfectly appointed with a level of service that truly felt five-star. Each detail was perfect, from the unbelievably comfortable beds to the wood burning fires that were lit by hand each night and the wonderful house staff that made everyone feel at home the moment they arrived. Getting to spend the whole weekend in such an enchanting space made the whole wedding feel so much more special, a truly immersive experience vs a single-day event. We loved discovering the countless nooks and crannies throughout the property where our friends and family could relax, chat, and soak in the surroundings. It created a sense of intimacy and closeness that made the entire experience feel so special. When the weekend was over, we genuinely didn't want to leave. Heck, we may even crash the wedding that's probably getting ready to kick off this weekend! The Holly Farm made every moment magical, and we will forever cherish our time spent there with the people we love most.

Enjoyed our experience here on a short Father's Day weekend getaway…read more Was greeted with wine and rubber duckies for the little ones. Also got free cookies and wine in our room. The room was spacious, we added a roller bed and BabyQuip crib. Signed up for the little rancher and was super cute. The kids got to feed the goats, per sheep, alpaca, donkeys and mini horses. Did breakfast buffet daily, as we had credit. We also went to the pool, and the kids loved it. Walked around the golf course and saw some deers. There was a wedding so it was kind of loud. Wished the in room dining had more food. All in all, good experience here.

My husband booked this place for the family with good intentions but missed a few details that I'd…read morelike to share in the hopes someone else may be reading reviews for this place. Location: beautiful breathtaking views tucked away in a mountain valley, it is a perfect spot to get away from the hustle and bustle from city noise pollution and high populations. Customer service: there are only 1-2 check in desks, where they spend about 10-20 minutes with each customer explaining the property amenities, location of room, events, etc. when you've been traveling all day, every minute feels like a lifetime. Restaurant: there is only one full service, sit in restaurant that gets booked very fast especially for dinner. Plan ahead and make a reservation in advance for every night you plan to stay on campus and eat there, otherwise, expect to wait until 8 pm or drive to the nearby restaurants which include a Subway, pizza joint, or a small Vietnamese restaurant. Earthbound Organic Farm is a great alternative option for a small breakfast or lunch bites. There is another Mexican restaurant nearby. Clientele in the mornings consist of rowdy children and their inconsiderate parents. I recommend asking to be seated outside if you have well mannered children and want to eat in peace. Rooms: mediocre clean. For being a Hyatt affiliated hotel, I had higher expectations, rooms are carpeted with wooden floors and heavy rugs. This resort is pet friendly so if you have someone in the family that suffers from allergies or has a very sensitive nose, this is not the best place to stay. As most Californian hotels that have carpeting, you can smell odors in the carpeting and linen. When things got hot and humid in our room, I got a nice whiff of dog. Basically any pet friendly hotel means that your linens will be washed with dog poo or other animal fluids. Rooms are only dusted at eye level but if you're someone that is concerned about dust mites, be prepared to get a showering of dust mites on bed, where the headboards reach 6' high and hold lots of lovely layers of dust. Coffee pot is sad and comparable to a motel 6 version with blah coffee, and lastly the beds are super firm with no ability to adjust (like other Hyatt holidays offer), and pillows are huge and uncomfortable. Foam alternative is slightly softer but still too high for a back sleeper or stomach sleeper. Bathroom: limited. They do provide tiny handwashing bars of soap made of lavender, and provide a tiny sample sac of lavender salt to use in tub but for those with allergies, best to request an alternative if any. Shower corners contain black mold. Refrigerators: our room had a tiny refrigerator that could hardly fit anything and doesn't cool sufficiently so for those moms packing extra healthy snacks for your kids, consider your fridge useless. All the strawberries, yogurts and hummus we purchased made it straight to the trash. Room patio: dirty and useless. There was a couple of upholstered seats and one table on our patio that could not be enjoyed as they were filled with dirt, dust and leaves. Would I stay here again? No - due to the pet issue for me. Most Californians love their pets and don't mind staying in places that wreak of dog butts that they've habituated to. Like I said, my husband had good intentions but there were too many issues that made it undesirable for me.
