    Christmas
    Charlene G.

A few things I have to say about this place, I've given this place quite a few tries, if you're into sweet beers or drinks like I am this is definitely your spot, I've came for Christmas last year, and it was gorgeous the way the set it up, but my issue is that anytime I come here there's always small children in the way or taking up space in the photo ops so we never get cute pictures, for their Barbie set up there was small children in the ball pit the entire time till closing which was super annoying. Especially because there was other people who wanted pictures also and the children seemed to be related to the owners so you would think they would have them not taking up so much space so others can get a turn too. When I came during Christmas the woman who owns the shop never looks happy to be here or serve us which is fine we all have bad days. But every single time I go? Very weird . She preaches woman empowerment and seems so happy online but just know this is all just for online presence. She's not like that in person. And this is from many of the times I have gone, she doesn't smile and makes it seem like it's a bother to talk our order each time? If you don't like customer service (as I don't either that's why I don't work in it) I'm not sure why she decided to be the face of the company. But, she might just be having a bad time every time we coincidentally be coming in. Last thing, their hours are SOOOOO UNPREDICTABLE. For Christmas they closed one hour early which they did not state anywhere even on their instagram, and this is not the first time this has happened when they open later than their posted hours or close early than their posted hours, at least let us know when we walk in or post it on instagram. I drive about an hour away to come visit my mom in Salina's and I like taking her to downtown Salina's for drinks & food sometimes and the times I have come this has ALWAYS been an issue. Cute place no doubt, but service is not great, and youll never really know their true hours of business.

For starters, people have been raving about Brew-N-Krew for a while so for it to finally open is awesome! We stopped by Sunday around 1pm to try a couple beers as we have been hearing a lot of good things about it! I'm personally a big fan of sours so I started with Simon Limon and my partner got El Padrino. The descriptions of the drinks are as detailed as it can be considering we could taste all the different notes. So so good! For the second drink I decided to stick to Simon Limon and my partner got Karnaval, which I regret not getting it myself because it was BOMBBBB! Such a refreshing beer to have!! Overall, loved the beer and the cool names and descriptions as it pays tributes to all those who have motivated/inspired the drinks. As for the atmosphere, LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! The color and decorations are a pop with the groovy music! Its such a fun sight to! My partner described it as the perfect spot to be day drinking on a Sunday. I also will say how much I appreciate it being kid friendly and the menu having kid friendly drinking choices. Such a welcoming space!

This place is awesome! You must visit this place when visiting Downtown SALINAS! It's thee new place to visit! The atmosphere is perfect! Grand opening in March 17th was amazing! It was packed and busy, but the service was great and quick! I got my beer in less than 5 mins. The wait to go in was well worth it! The owners were prompt in asking people walking in what they were looking for! They were highly prepared, and if they weren't, kudos to them because they handled their grand opening like pros! I was blown away when I saw Senator Caballero walk in! Wow! What a great highlight for the brewery! I went back today, and by far one of the best places to visit in downtown! Check out the place! You must try: Lokura, El Padrino, Ponte Las Piñas, La Chica Fresa! Actually try them all! Love the uniqueness of their beer titles! Love that they make dope beer with cultura! You'll love the decor! It is so unique in style! It's welcoming, positive, pleasant, and enchanting! The owners are young and home grown in the East Side pf Salinas! They are both amicable! Salinas really needed this type of place to hang out in! When visiting, make sure you tell them what type of beer you like or what they recommend, I did that, and now I'm a "Lokura" beer lady! You must visit this place! Highly recommend it!

Can I give HUGE props on the vibe here!! Perfect summer BARBIE THEME ( I heard they change themes ). The music is also great! They have alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages and the hosts always have great recommendations. The tables are always being wiped down and cleaned. Definitely stop by and grab a drink with fun people and enjoy fun times!

So far so good! The beers are great, the crew has great customer service, the grand opening was crazy busy so we need to def go back to try more beers.

I came here for the brunch with Jack Skellington. It was such a great time! From the attention to detail to the love and care in the customer service. I did not have a beer but the people that were there and did, had great things to say about them. I loved the environment, the people that work here make it so it is a comfortable, welcoming and warm place. Thank you very much to the Brew-N-Krew Ale House family!

This was a very nice surprise as a new place for us to visit when we come back home to salinas. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. They welcome the whole family even children. The decor is pop up theme right now and even the bathrooms are decorated uniquely. The restroom was clean, provided a changing table and my favorite hemp lotion even! The drinks are fun and super tasty. We loved the chika freza. The pricing and info on the pours for the pop ups are stated on the menu and are fixed pricing. If you want not just an IG worthy drink but a tasty one this is a place to go for good atmosphere and fun times.

Ask the Community - Brew-N-Krew Ale House

    Are dogs allowed?

I love dogs, but I would venture to guess no. It's an indoor venue, so only certified guide dogs would be allowed. Perhaps they'll add outdoor tables, and in that case you can bring your dog.

    Where's the menu?

Dogs are allowed but must be in a leash. I've seen plenty of friendly dogs there, but only on Sundays which is more of a family day! I love the friendly staff and owner!

The bartender informed me that the menu is different from the one in Carmel; nevertheless, there were various appetizers, pizzas, salads, burgers, sandwiches, sides, desserts, and of course, a great beer menu as well as wine and cocktails. Overall, the atmosphere is more upscale than the Carmel location. It has a bit more of a city than a casual beach vibe. It was buzzing at 6 pm on a Friday, and those looking for a table had to wait. They have a large bar with ample seating and a seating area, and a small counter by the window behind the hostess stand for those who don't want to wait outside. Parking can be a challenge since there is a theatre across the street, but there is a large public lot and street parking, although you might need to walk for several blocks. Service was a bit slow, but it was a busy Friday night.

Bathrooms are multistalled. Parking in the area is a bit tricky, but if you're willing to walk, it's not really a problem. Pretty large space (this used to be a bank - the door to the kitchen looks like the door to the old safe that they just kept as a stylistic thing). My only gripe was that my burgers came with homemade chips, and the chips are really good, but in the portion I got, all of the chips were smashed. Would have liked to see more whole chips.

A quick pivot to change our lunch plans while on holiday in Carmel, CA: ended up being really great…read morefor our party of three. Founded in Monterey in 2014, Alvarado Street Brewery expanded its production and its restaurants to meet demand. This location in the Carmel Plaza Shopping Center opened in 2018, and they do produce beer here, though their main production and canning happens at their original Monterey and expanded Salinas plants. They also have a new beer garden at the new soccer stadium in Marina. We waited around at the mall until it opened at 11:30. Service was excellent all-around, with us being seated right away, and our server, Ian, providing some top-notch recommendations for both food and beer. I asked him about their flights, which were the standard 5 oz pours, and individually priced. But he mentioned that if I ordered their promotional deal (in this case, their Korean-style loco moco), it would come with a flight of their 4 core beers. He had me sold as soon as he said 'loco moco'. Everything came out on-time, and served at the right temperature as appropriate. 4 beer flight (included with loco moco plate) - flagship Monterey Beer (American Light Lager, brewed at their Salinas plant); Pilsner (German-style Pilsner, also brewed at their Salinas plant); Mai Tai (American IPA, Salinas); Howzit Punch (fruited sour, modeled after Hawaiian POG). All of the beers were really good. with the Howzit being the most liked, not only on principle (we really love Hawaii) but also on taste. Korean-Style Loco Moco ($25) - when told that the white rice on a traditional loco moco was being replaced by kimchi fried rice, my original reaction was 'Dang...why didn't I think of that'. It was a beautiful looking dish, for sure. In terms of taste, just OK. The rice wasn't great, and the hamburger patty was OK (a bit dry). But the over-easy egg added a nice level of richness and the gravy fit the dish. The strips of gim (seaweed sheets) was a great touch and appreciated. Roasted Drunken Half Chicken ($33) - another great looking dish: a cut up half chicken with a ton of crisping done on the skin. It came with two dipping sauces (a bbq and a butter based), along with pickled vegetables on the side, and a jalapeno biscuit. My wife loved the biscuit and didn't need the extra butter. The chicken looked dry though, and she confirmed it. The dark meat was OK, but the white meat was very dry, confirming that one needs to use the bbq sauce and the pickled vegetables to counteract that. Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich ($20) - my mother-in-law loved this, and she proved it by eating it all (though it could have something to do with all the walking we did in the morning). I enjoyed the fresh cole slaw (tart with a nice mix of vegetables). And all of us really enjoyed the fries...again proving that food service frozen fries can be marvelous if deep fried (and served) properly. My wife and I both agreed that the Mai Tai PA and Howzit Punch were really good and worth bringing back home so got a 4-pack of each ($16 each). Haven't had a chance to try it at home yet, but will do so when wanting to remember our trip.

No one should feel like a burden for simply wanting to watch a game in a restaurant setting--especially while seated at the bar, where that's a pretty common expectation. Because of how awkward the situation became, he ended up just ordering a soda and leaving instead of staying for the meal he had planned. It's unfortunate, because we've had better experiences in the past, but this interaction really left a negative impression.
