That kind of customer service is almost extinct these days. Most places make you feel like you're inconveniencing them if you ask for a sample--looking at you, Baskin-Robbins. The donut itself was amazing. You could immediately tell it was made with better ingredients than what most places use. It was warm, fresh, rich, and actually tasted homemade instead of mass-produced. The chocolate flavor was spot on, and the texture was perfect. What really stood out, though, was the generosity. The owner was confident enough in his product to hand me a warm donut and say, "Here, try this." That simple gesture turned me from someone just walking by into a customer for life.
