First timer here, ordered take out food was neatly wrapped reminded me a lot of the old togos's one of my all time favorites ! I chose this restaurant because i have a love of sandwiches , primarily in my area of Salinas... some other places that have been around for a very long time so read my review with that in mind please... As much as i enjoy giving 5 stars reviews to promote new and older businesses local! i must be very honest. I ordered a turkey sandwich with garlic pesto sauce, added extra meat and it came with cheese and lettuce tomatoes. i love sourdough a lot... my bread was very difficult to even bite into literally. I have to say the meat was minimal a thin slice of cheese and i could barely see the added avacado we added. i was hungry the size of sandwich as or looked big 8 inch. i as handed my sandwich and hubby says i hope you enjoy as it was $25 for the sandwich so i knew before i unwrapped it! I'm sorry, but i probably would have to give a 2 for the sauce taste of a hint of garlic pesto sauce is green usually and overall this sandwich was just A lot of "bread" not worth $25 i feel it could of been better ! for the extras we added and barely saw any of it period. In my opinion people making sandwiches either didn't weigh the amount of meats out in sandwiches and don't understand the extra and how much it costed. The presentation of sandwich was very professional. but not worth $25 at all. I hope management sees this review because i was hoping this would have been my new place for a good sandwich. the menu has so many selections. but unfortunately i can't see chancing spending $50 for two sandwich meals also side note: i didn't order full meal either no chips of drink. please give quality and quantity new time to avoid un happy customers. thanks anyways, i hope this place improves for future customers and maybe one day i'll try again?! just a lot of $$ for very little food and mostly bread and way to hard to eat... regards, Corina read more

We had an enjoyable meal at Sourdough Company. Both the quality of the food and the friendly service left a positive impression. From the moment we walked in, the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind, which made the whole experience even better. I ordered the Double Chicken Pesto, and it was easily the highlight of my visit. The sandwich was served warm, which made a big difference. The pesto added a rich, savory flavor and all of the ingredients worked well together. The bread though! Crisp and nicely crunchy on the outside, yet soft and fresh on the inside. It had that perfect texture you hope for in a sourdough sandwich and elevated the experience. My son ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad along with a cup of clam chowder. The salad had a generous portion of chicken, lots of croutons for extra crunch, and a Caesar dressing that was creamy and flavorful. They also included two sides of dressing, which was great for anyone who likes a well-coated salad. My son ended up asking for a third. The clam chowder was decent overall. It wasn't the best we've had compared to some of the chowder spots in Monterey, where the standard is pretty high, but it was still warm, satisfying, and worth trying as part of the meal. Overall, Sourdough Company delivered fresh food, solid portions, quality bread, and excellent customer service. If you are looking for a satisfying sandwich or casual lunch spot with friendly staff, this is definitely a place worth visiting. We'd happily return to for lunch. read more

This place replaced Togo's and is experiencing growing pains. Depending on who's working at the time, there could be serious language problems. I stood at the register for a while trying to order while we tried to decide what each other was saying. Uncomfortable. I hope they get better. English speaking help the family that runs it seems confused. the sandwiches however, if you manage to get one made correctly can be delicious. Everything is fresh and the bread is outstanding. now if they didn't just stare at me wondering what the hell I'm saying while I order my food that would be great. read more

This was a quick stop on our way to NAPA for lunch. Casual seating. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The manager checked to see if we needed anything else when we finished eating. The food was delicious, New England clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl...French Dip... Roast Beef sandwich. Toppings are fresh and the side salad is a good portion. The only thing decent about the sandwich was the bread was so so nothing special at all about the sandwich and I walked in. After a long day at work, I really wasn't in the mood to cook and was craving a sandwich. I decided to give this place a try. I am glad that I did. The young blonde lady behind the counter was super nice and friendly. Her customer service was amazing, I was very pleased. I let her know it was my first time and I couldn't decide between 2 sandwiches, one of them being the chicken cholula I think. She mentioned that was one of her favorites, she did mention it had some heat. I decided to go with that. I sat there waiting for my order and she kept herself busy, cleaning while there wasn't customers but she made sure she greeted everyone with a friendly service as they walked in. There were maybe 1 or 2 other customers/tables. She was super nice to everyone. My sandwich was really good. My only complaint is the bread was a bit crunchy, which I didn't mind too much. The staff was very nice and helpful. My mom enjoyed the salad and chili. She was very impressed with the chili. I got the Reuben and clam chowder. They were both good, but the chowder isn't as good as what you can get on the Wharf. In a world where customer service is dying this place is so refreshing. Excellent customer service, staff are incredibly attentive and kind. Food is delicious and fresh. I've tried a few of there sandwiches so far and will continue to go back (Italian, pastrami , French dip and brisket all soooo tasty) . I'm so glad they opened a location here in Salinas! Their sandwiches are so delicious. They just opened, and it was already very busy when I walked in to pickup my online order. They offer dine-in, online ordering, and delivery. At first I couldn't find the location within the shopping center, but it is between Starbucks and BKM health foods. Hope that saves you a few circles around the parking lot lol.....Highly recommend giving this place a try. read more

Good sandwich. Easy to order. As it started to get busy, I saw they had an employee come out to start taking orders from people in line. The store is comfortable and has seating both inside and in front of the store. The drink station is in a corner and a little bit tight when more than one person needs to get a drink. read more

Went in today and had an amazing experience! I got a grilled chicken Caesar salad and the chicken was slightly spiced and not dry like some places. It was great and came with a side of bread that was soft and fresh. The workers were very kind to us and chatted with us as well. The first sandwich was not good and I attribute that to the fact that they just opened and are still getting to together and training staff. This review is only based on the second sandwich, which was quite good. The bread was good, it had plenty of meat but still a little skimpy on the lettuce and tomato. We are the lettuce capital here, so pile it on. They have a big menu including soups and very good cookies. Will come again. read more
