Such a rip-off. 3 donuts = $21? Idk if they charged us the correct price but charged my family $21 for THREE donuts. Absolutely ridiculous.

Came here to get donuts for my coworkers. I ordered some old fashioned, plain cake, sprinkled, and French crullers. The French crullers were a bit tough and chewy. Not sure they were fresh and I came in at 7am. Also, the floors were sopping wet with an extremely strong floor cleaner which also left the floor very slippery. The staff helped me, but were pretty indifferent despite me being warm to them. I don't believe I would return here. read more

We stopped at Kristy's donuts on our way to LA. This is one of the best donuts shops we ever tasted. Great selections, their donuts are moist & delicious. We got the chocolate twist, maple & sugar donuts. We also ordered their coffee with cinnamon, taro boba & strawberry drinks, all so good. They provide friendly service too. Thank you so much! Kristys Donuts are very light and fluffy/flakey. It definitely tastes like they change and take care of the oil they're dunking their donuts into. Out of: glazed, cake with sprinkles, chocolate glaze, maple bar, maple donuts and creme filled chocolate here are my rankings in order of best to worst: 1. Glazed - I'm plain. I judge a donut by its base and I enjoy that nice pure taste of a fresh glazed donuts. It was flakey and fluffy, the glaze wasn't too sweet and wasn't sticky and gross. It was all a very good package. 2. Cake with Sprinkles - ok, first - I don't like cake donuts. I love cake, I love donuts - but they're two separate entities. However, this cake donut (chocolate or vanilla with sprinkles) blew my mind. It was still kinda hot, crispy on the outside and soft and taste on the inside. If you ever tried an Andagi this is EXACTLY what they taste like. This was a hard #2 3. Chocolate with filling - it was good, but I love frills and the custard filling was a grill. The donut was good and the filling wasn't too sweet. 4. Chocolate Glaze And then the maple bar and maple donut were too sweet for me. In any case I took one for the maple bar and then also because I think Salinas donut is giving them a run for their money. I enjoyed this donut but the location and taste will keep me Salinas donut loyal. read more

Yelp has done me wrong again. For those that say this place has the best donuts in the area clearly haven't been to Marina Donuts and Bagels or truly know what a great donut is. I compare all donuts to them because they absolutely have the best in the area. I was hoping to make this my new go to spot in Salinas but I'll have to keep looking or make the trek to Marina. Consistency of the dough is off and they do not even use real apples in their apple fritter. Their cinnamon roll was lackluster and even their basic glazed donut was eh. For 1 apple fritter, 1 cinnamon roll and I glazed, I paid $6. That's a lot of money for 3 very bad donuts. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time here. read more

I have been coming to this place for over 10 years and they are the best donuts I have ever had. I've had different places all over California but they just do not compare. I love them and I'm always craving them you have to taste them yourself to know what I'm talking about. They are fluffy, soft and so delicious. Like hold up wait a minute WHOA my aunt from the Bay Area always raves about how Kristy's cinnamon rolls are hands down the best and not too sweet. Our grandma lives around the corner from there so every time we go to visit grandma she's uber excited to get her favorite cinnamon roll!! I can't believe it took me years to go there with our entire family and wow what a secret hidden gem that has 4 reviews dang yelpers don't be scared to cruise the Eaaaast Siiiide it's so worth it!! They donuts are made fresh all day the service is awesome as I questioned the lady working with my usual "what's your favorite"? She recommended the buttermilk glazed donut and OMG so bomb along with the maple old fashion and cinnamon roll I tried. This place is dangerously good I can't wait to visit grandma again and Christy heheheh!! read more

I give this place five star for their donuts, they are really good! This is the second best pace in Salinas for donuts, the first is Alvin's donuts. I would give this place two stars for service. We went in really late, around 10pm. They didn't have a wide variety of donuts left and that's understandable given the time we went in, but we were a bit rushed when deciding on what we wanted. We had picked out a couple donuts and I can never buy just one, so I kept looking and to my surprise the man behind that counter asked me, "Is that it". Do not go here for atmosphere - there is like zero ambiance. Located in the old Safeway now Mi Pueblo parking lot right off Sanborn. However they make the best chocolate donuts, covered in chocolate then sprinkled with coconut. That is my absolute favortie so I don't get them from anywhere else, and it's a serious problem. As a kid, I was never a huge donut fan until some years ago when I was treated to donuts from this place. The other types/flavors are okay but certain places have specialties (you know like going to Red's on the peninsula for the cinnamon snail) and that particular combo really started a love affair for me w/ Kristy's. What I'm not crazy about is the location - a dirty parking lot with men who hang out here - some just drinking coffee, others looking for work who tend to congregate outside & smoke near Kristy's. Never been acosted but I only go there during the morning - usually try to send the spouse instead. You know Kristy's is doing something right when they only sell donuts & coffe - in styrofoam cups at that - and nearly across the street from Winchell's. Been in business here forever - 20+ years (and it used to be part of a chain that relocated...guess which one?) Since I have been coming here the recipe doesn't change. They aren't greasy either except for being a fried item of food so you can't help noticing if you set one down on a napkin that it will leave an oil ring so just eat it right away & solve that little issue. Service here is pretty quick even when they are assembling a variety box ( or more) to go. read more
