This is my absolute favorite panaderia anywhere near the Bay Area!! I make it a point to stop here whenever I am driving down the 101. First of the cafeteria has a wide range of lunch option that are all delicious! I normally get the burritos or tortas but my partner has also tried some of the salads they offer and everyone has been amazing. But the baked goods are really where this place shines. I'm always impressed with the large variety of options that the bakery has. And while I haven't tried them all, every single one that I have had has been absolutely amazing! I would have to say that my top pick however would be their Tres Leches cups. It is absolutely divine and is hands down the best Tres Leches I have ever had no contest. They also do wedding cakes. I had my wedding this year in Monterey and they were able to provide an absolutely beautiful two layered cake with a perfectly spiced carrot cake as the bottom layer and a wonderfully moist Tres Leches cake as the top layer. I'm pretty surprised this location has such low stars La Plaza bakery is a staple in Salinas my love was craving Chilaquiles so we went! Everything was delicious for the most part. The only thing I would say is the Asada would not rate he added it on and probably could've went without what was not pictured was the pan we took home that I already know will be a hit! Visited this place based on a local recommendation for some good sweet bread (pan Dulce) and so glad I did. The bread was fresh and all the different types of bread were good and had good flavor. While getting some bread, also decided to get some breakfast tacos snd those were pretty good as well! The service was great friendly and very welcoming! I went to the Plaza bakery to order two burritos. I ordered one and asked for them put in nopales, they put them in mine as a courtesy. The dinner burrito is excellent. I love this place. I've been going here since I was little and nothing has changed! Came here around 11:30am and it wasn't as busy but as soon as we ordered, a rush of people came in but our order was completed quickly. I got the torta asada, which I usually get and it definitely hit the spot! Definitely the best tasting torta ever! The bread was toasted to perfection with a perfectly seasoned asada. It also came with onions and jalapeños. I also got the flan and it was the perfect dessert for my lunch! La Plaza Bakery was a cute little spot in Salinas It was one of the only shops open on Memorial Day. I got the carrot and orange combo juice which was really fresh and was super carroty though. They had a fresh juicer. I also got the carnitas plate which was also freaking amazing. They didn't skimp on the meat whatsoever it was quite dry though. The meat was incredibly tasty though add some of their house salsa to make it better! The beans and rice paired perfectly. The beans looked watery and a little off putting but they were delicious! The Mexican rice was also great. Very fluffy and loads of seasoning. The service was really fast and the servers were kind. The ambiance was ok as it is a bakery as well where you can get deserts, but the interior was alright. OVERALL I would definitely recommend La Plaza Vakery to others. read more

The round Almond cookie is super delicious with a nice strong punch of almond flavor to my mouth. Unfortunately, the chocolate croissant was disgusting. The chocolate tasted like cheap raisins and the croissant tasted like play dough. Blueberry scone was just A-OK....too dry and without blueberry flavor. When I lived in Salinas I would come here often. Its been a few years since I have been here, I was in town and and HANGRY so I thought I would stop by on my way back to the Bay. Nothing has changed (thankfully) as you walk in to your left is the bakery area, traditional hand made mexican bread (pan dulce) everything you can imagine is prepared daily and baked. The smell of the FRESH pan dulce makes you want to order everything!! As you walk in further you see the Burrito station! Staff is there to greet you and make your burrito wishes come true LOL. They also make tacos and offer other foods as well. Everything is very authentic and fresh. There is a large seating area to sit and enjoy your pan dulce with some coffee or eat your burrito. They also sell cakes here as well. The venue is very clean, well staffed and well stocked. Nice place for a quick bite or for sweet tooth cravings read more

Ordered food online and once I arrived the cashier said there were no orders under my name. I had to show the cashier my receipt so he could verify I had placed the order at the correct location. His colleagues were being very rude to him while he was trying to solve our issue. Once the order was received, 40 minutes after I initially expected it we didn't receive our champurrado drinks. When I asked for them we were told we needed to get in a different line even though we had already paid for them. Customer service was not it. Everyone was in a "that's not my job" mood and it made it really hard to get our order. read more

Enjoyed a nice breakfast here today after an early morning appointment. La Plaza Bakery is a bakery that offers a variety of freshly baked goods/pastries and there is a restaurant side to it as well. I felt like chilaquiles today so even though I didn't see it on the menu, they said they had it when I asked. The chilaquiles was so bomb! The flavor of the sauce was super flavorful and had a good kick of spice. The tortillas were fried with eggs and topped with the sauce, cheese, crema and avocado. I wIll defintely come back here when in the area. Good food, service & prices = Next time, I defintely will save room for some pasties. read more

Tacos are way over priced. Bread is good. This location has the best burritos from all the other Plaza Bakeries. Staff is somewhat friendly they are on top of it. There's a nice seating area. With that said I must add this there was a incident in which a homeless man that even though he was a paying customer was not allowed to dine in the building he was asked to leave with his meal. Yummy desserts, spacious seating area! So the husband and I stopped by on a Saturday after lunchtime because he was craving something sweet. We always pass by La Plaza Bakery and never come in, so we figured today would be a good day to finally try it out. The inside of the bakery is clean and spacious. Pastries are displayed in large glass display cases right when you walk in. Surprisingly, there is also a deli section where you can get things like breakfast burritos and tacos! I will be sure to review these items when I come back to try them out. My husband ordered a slice of tres leches cake and some kind of cheese & fruit pastry. Both were delicious! I had to sneak a bite of each, and then I had to sabotage my husband and finish the fruit pastry because I liked it so much! Like I stated, the inside of La Plaza Bakery is clean, and the decor is very nice - colorful and still somehow homey. This bakery has been in this location for years and years and years. I grew up coming here when I came to visit my grandparents and later on in life when I lived in the city. The bakery items are always fresh, always delicious, and there is a large variety. There are plenty of people working there. They are friendly, kind, respectful and the prices are great. Love everything about this place. Its location and the set up of the bakery and the food bar. TORTAS crafted by angels! I always get it with a cold coke and chips and it ALWAYS hits the spot! I just got out of the plaza bakery at 2:46pm and this new person they hired. Rude, not friendly at all. They sure know how to pick them. The owners need to start putting badges on their workers. I was just passing by the area and decided to stop by because I was hungry. The parking lot is pretty big. This place I thought was pretty cool it's a bakery and a restaurant. The art her I gotta say is pretty good. I ordered two sopes one carnitas and one asada. The staff here was ok. The wait to get my food seemed a little long but I'm not sure if it was because I was hungry lol. The carnitas sope was freakin amazing. They had green salsa my favorite. The beans were perfect on it. The size was larger then most places I can tell it was made fresh. The asada was good but not as good as carnitas. The horchata was good. This is a kind of place where you go up and get your food and find somewhere to eat. I spent $9 at the restaurant 2 sopes and horchata not bad at all. We also got Mexican bread pretty good.
