Really cute spot with fresh sandwiches. Think of sandwiches you would make at home with really great ingredients. One thing to consider is that there is no inside seating and only two small tables outside. We ended up grabbing our brown bags from here and walking over to the mission to eat at their picnic tables. The service was quick- they were a little pricey but worth it for the ingredients in my opinion. Great stop on the way to the coast. read more

It never fails, I find a place I love but they are 30 minutes away! I live in San Martin but Lolla's is worth the drive. I currently can only eat pureed food due to a surgery and the soups at Lolla's are amazing!! Bring back the carrot ginger soup!! So tasty and I love that there are soups with NO CREAM. I am lactose intolerant and finding good soup without cream can be a challenge. My husband and daughter have tried a few of the sandwiches and love them. After spending the morning walking around the mission and nearby streets, we were ready to get our grub on. Yelp led us to Lolla. They're crushing it with really good reviews and I believe they're fairly new to SJB, so it was an easy call. Plus they were a short walk away and had a couple tables outside. The menu is small, simple. A few sandwiches, soups, and salads, along with specials and cold drinks. We ordered the Mission Melt and a BLTL, and both were solid. The Mission Melt was the winner tho cuz it was PACKED with ooey, gooey cheese and came with an awesome Kalamata olive dipping sauce. All the flavors for the BLTL were really nice and everything was high quality, I only wish there was a little more bacon. On the way back from SLO we needed lunch and wanted to got o a place with a nice ambiance. San Juan Batista met that need. And Lolla's had great reviews on Yelp so we had to try it. The place has only been open this year and is pretty small, with only 3 tables. I got the Mediterranean veggie (Seeded Wheat, White Bean Puree, Olive Tapenade, Tomato, Cucumber, Roasted Red Peppers, Shaved Red Onions, Frisee) and it was really good. The ingredients were very fresh and flavorful. All of us were very happy with our sandwiches. And the people working there were very nice. Well, we had to check it out since it had such great reviews, but it's really not my kind of place. You don't go in, you stand at the door and tell them what you want then pay. They have two tables outside. That's it. It was a hot day and sitting outside was not enjoyable. The service was fine. The girl working was doing everything by herself. The food was good. I can see why people like it here. Quite a few people walked up, got their food, and left. We split the Brie, Bacon, and Jelly sandwich. It was flavorful, made just right, and was very unique. Fantastic for gourmet sandwiches! Here's the story: So, we're stumbling around downtown looking for a place to eat. "There's a place... American comfort food. Perfect. Oh, it's closed." My best pal and wife is no dairy, no beans. She talks over a Dutch doorway with a really good and really motivated employee. Always curious, I ask "Are you Lolla?" She, stepping back and pointing at a ceramic cat, "No, we're named for that cat." Okay. Wife works out a sandwich with no dairy or beans. Woman "We've got vegan." So, my wife orders a VEGAN sandwich WITH bacon. Bacon absolutely crushes it in a sandwich. Try it you non-vegans. Waiting for our sandwiches we noticed a Dachshund-Chihuahua mix dog moaning for his "Mamma" according to his owner. Sandwiches delivered to our little table on the sidewalk. I haven't had grapes in years let alone in the sandwich. Delicious. The sandwiches are delivered by that employee. Really good employee? Nope. Owner. Very charming. I ask to take a photo for you guys on Yelp, of the two sweet workers in the tiny kitchen. They pose instantly, perfectly, like professional models. Eaten here a dozen times or so. Food is tasty and made from high quality ingredients. We have tried the salads and several soups. All yummy. Our usual go-to's are the turkey san and the banh mi (a special that is often on the daily menu). Both are terrific. My only negative is the ciabatta roll they serve some of the sandwiches on. Ciabatta is awesome bread, but it has to be uber fresh because it dries out in a hurry. Had that happen with a couple of ban mi's from lollas. But ymmv, and they have other breads for people like me, so no big deal. Like I said, food is excellent. And the ladies behind the counter are some of the best!
