At first I thought the servings looked small but not the case as we had leftovers. Everything was delicious. The pesto lasagne was especially tasty. Wow!! Such a great meal on so many levels. We got the "small" lasagna with meatballs/sausage and veggies and garlic bread and salad. Three of us are stuffed and sooo happy because it was amazing!! I picked up lunch for my son and myself, and everything was absolutely amazing! The lasagna, garlic bread, and Caesar salad were all delicious and full of flavor. They even included a cucumber salad for us to try, which was such a thoughtful surprise and tasted fantastic. The food was so delicious that I'm already looking forward to ordering again for a family dinner later this week. They haven't had their grand opening yet. We figured we would give it a try. I noticed on yahoo someone left a bad review before they even opened because they saw $100 claiming that they could get a cheaper one at the grocery store. But for starters, grocery store frozen lasagnas aren't fresh or good. Second of all, I guess they didn't realize that when you go to purchase the lasagna you get a lot of other food with it including: salad, garlic bread, meat balls/sausage, grilled veggies. Choices of 3 types of lasagna are (beef, sausage or pesto). The owner greeted me as I walked in saying hello. This place is owned by the Bozzo family which is well known in Gilroy. My mom is already planning dinner wayyyy ahead of time for Christmas Day getting a few large lasagna meals. We had the pesto lasagna meal and it has mushrooms in it, very tasty. If you wanna buy just the lasagna it's $50. But you gotta think about it this way, if you go to a restaurant with four people... For as much food as you get for the family meal, you're going to be paying far more than $100 for a sit down restaurant. read more

For Christmas, We ordered an 8-10 person lasagna and it literally weighed 8lbs. It's pre cooked so it only had to be warm it up for 40 minutes. The lasagna had about 7 or 8 layers of meat, cheese, and pasta. It was very flavorful and well worth the cost. I would do it again. The one thing I would ask for next time is more sauce throughout the casserole. read more

OMG. I thought it would be too much food for a single person, then a coworker reminded me that lasagna freezes well. Picked it up at 5pm Friday. Caesar Salad - I brought it home. Has two cups of ranch and two of Caesar. I took the croutons off since I was putting it straight into the frig. Sooooo great! We thought we knew how to make lasagna until we had Louies Lasagna. Layers upon layers. I preferred the red over the pesto lasagna but the kids loved the pesto. The meatballs, I've never had better meatballs (sorry Mom). You cant go wrong with the the Italian chopped salad or the Caesar salad. Lastly was the garlic bread. They do have big servings so I decided to get the single serving of the meat lasagna while trying the garlic bread as well. Very tasty pasta with fresh ingredients, their sauce is delicious. Purchased individual beef lasagnas. Theses were good. Flavorful, saucy, and meaty with lots of layers. We made decision to purchase large for party. Which we did. Purchased 1/2 beef, 1/2 sausage. These we're disappointing and embarrassing. Sauceless and dry. $100 wasted. One portion of each was tried. The rest sat on the table. So, single portions, I can recommend. We have used Louie's three times for family gatherings, the large dinner combo will feed 10-12 people, unless you have overeaters. We got a side of meatballs and sausage and had most of it left over. Does anyone else Google things like "lasagna near me"? Luckily, I found a spot in Gilroy that perfectly fit my craving! Louies Lasagna is like nothing I've seen before. It is an all "take out" place to bring your sit down dinner home. This is very convenient. Since I just happened upon the place in the google search, it took me a minute to figure out how the business worked. I think it's a great idea but the marketing team could do a little better organizing and presenting the menu and services. Online ordering was easy. You can pick your items preheated and ready to eat, or, you can bring them home and heat them at your place. My order was pre-heated. You have the choice of a la carte options or a complete meal. This is where the menu could use some help making things a little more clear for the first time user. I was given a time when when the order would be ready and planned my arrival to match. It was spot on! The staff conveniently packed the items in front of me and I took a 10 minute trip home where everything came out of the bag piping hot. It was a huge amount of food! Everything was easy to portion up, serve and enjoy. The packaging also made it easy to save any left overs. If you follow their serving size I'm pretty sure you'll end up with leftovers as the portions are generous!. The food was very good. This included the several ingredient packed layers of traditional lasagna and the sides. The meatballs and sausage, veggies, salad and garlic bread were all included and did not disappoint. My Dad picked up a pesto lasagne and bread on his way home from the grocery store. He balked a little at the price he'd paid. I'm certain that I've made a lasagne, from scratch, more recently that he so I just laughed and said, "let's see!" When I tell you that after he polished off two pieces of this glorious lasagne, he said, "that was worth the money", it's not a world of a lie. We ordered the large meal online for 7 people for Easter. You can pick up cold and you heat up yourself or hot and they keep everything hot in house, except for the salad which was cold obviously. Louie's lasagna brings a great new addition to the to the take out dining alternatives to our community. I had the vegetarian pesto lasagna and it was easily one of the best I have ever tasted. The 9x12 pan can easily fed 4 of us with enough leftovers for another complete dinner. Can't wait to try the meat lasagna with meatballs and/or Italian sausage next visit. We noticed that the slices did not have cheese as we thought this was odd... after looking at the pictures and reading reviews, turns out the cheese was missing. So we called the number and asked if they had happen to forget the cheese in my order, the guy rudely answered and said that they would never forget. And then right away he said we could get our money back , without even admitting about the mistake..I offered to take the lasagna back for him to take a look at it, and he said he was out of town.. We were so disappointed this time...about a month ago, we ordered the pesto lasagna dinner for 4 (pesto lasagna, sausage and meatballs, vegetables, and garlic bread- $100.) The meal was fantastic, all of it. The pesto lasagna and garlic bread were especially excellent, but the entire meal worked so well together! We were very pleased. So, we were eager to try the same meal, but this time with the beef lasagna...What happened to the quality?!! The beef lasagna was so-so; it was not flavorful, and tended to be dry. The garlic bread, I believe, had been sitting for entirely too long, the meatballs were so salty that 2 of our family members could not eat them (No flavor, just salt. This is sad as they are moist, beautiful looking meatballs.). The vegetables were acceptable (the peppers were a sweet-tasting, nice addition), and the salad had old romaine in it. This was sooo disappointing! We like to see local businesses thrive...but, we will find it difficult to try this again, after receiving food that was not even mediocre at best. Please reduce the sodium, and check the quality/freshness of the food going out of the door. We will give this one more try sometime in the future. read more

Brand new central location by Nob Hill, cool signage , and very clean inside and out ...The lasagna was better than expected, and the portions are quite large! I got the meatball and sausage topping option, a large Italian salad, plenty of very heavily buttered garlic bread and some tasty grilled veggies came with it. $100 even and we fed eight people! 5 adults 3 kids, and there is still enough lasagna for me to have lunch tomorrow...If I had to comment on anything, I would just say that the meatballs could've had a little more flavor, I wish the sausage topping came with a bit more tomato sauce, the bread was a bit soggy (had to toast it in the broiler to save it ) , and the veggies lacked salt (which I added and they became very good )...but these are minor nit picks and I realize more a preference than a flaw.
