Don't buy this over priced ice cream. I just bought a scoop for my kid and they gave me a dirty used spoon with lipstick on it.

Very tasty ice cream. So good and flavorful. The employees are nice and are not rude. The best ice cream in Salinas.

My sister-in-law said frozen yogurt is healthy for you, but still brain freeze good. My father said it was still cold for him, we shared a big cup. I put selections that normally he can handle. Mango is going to take a while for him to enjoy. My brother normally doesn't like frozen yogurt, I love it, memory reminds of a when I was younger of healthier option back in San Jose, CA when the only yogurt shop existed and it only substance that didn't escape from spoon and gave you brain freeze but felt good going down. Made hot months feel cool. The place is gone... I wonder though does: Yogurt land offer Straws too? I say this because to solve melting issue ppl assuming at-fault product, however your hand is melting yogurt in cup. Ppl are holding the cup, it's causing icy cold product to come out the machine, which in turn is melting rapidly. These are paper cups, other place I recall used Styrofoam cups which were food grade but had zero effect on yogurt, not sure anyone could test that. I am a normal everyday yogurt eater. Milk wins all contests. Edited: some words and grammar

To be clear, yes, they sell donuts, but no, they do not sell ice cream; and, furthermore, it feels as though the donuts only exist because of the lottery tickets and scratchers that they sell as those have a better selection than donuts. That said, I did purchase a donut from their meager selection in the afternoon. Not sure if that selection was limited by the time of day, or simply reflects all that they have but the donut was decent, I believe it was called a cinnamon crunch, but the remaining selection of donuts were a small collection of cake and old-fashioned. Still not sure why ice cream is listed in the name as the sign outside the business does not reflect that either. I went to purchase my donut only to learn that they only accept credit cards for purchases over three dollars. Good to know my donut was under three dollars, disappointing if you fail to bring cash they have a decent sized sitting area in the back behind the lottery section. Ironically, I feel as though it is more generous than the area used to sell their tickets and donuts, the attendant was neither nor cordial. Experience was less than memorable. The only reason I chose to do a review to help others avoid a similar disappointment. My final advice, walk across the street buy some box donuts from Grocery Outlet and you'll be similarly pleased.

They have exotic brands from around the world along with rare and older brands that the big box grocery stores don't carry. I don't know how they do it, but the quality and freshness of the vegetables and perishables are top notch given such variety. We used to shop at Whole Foods in Monterey, and we like the small specialty shops like Elroy's in Monterey and Jerome's Carmel Valley Market, but Star Market is a combination of both worlds. Whole Foods has gotten corporate with an overemphasis on their own brands. Star Market doesn't really have their brand so they are extremely loyal to local brands which makes the shopping experience feel like a tour of Monterey County highlights. I also like the very practical way they're running their business. Few frills, very clean, and high quality. In fact, it feels very nostalgic to walk in, like a movie set from the 1970's which makes me feel that this is still a family owned and run business. If you're looking for a truly unique experience that is different from the Albertsons/Lucky/Safeway/Nob Hill sameness, then you have to do yourself a favor and visit Star Market. It has a Salinas/Monterey old fashioned charm coupled with unrivaled variety and quality.
