Traveling to Cali with my aunt and two nephews and we needed to stop. We didn't want to stop at the Starbucks or McDonald's we wanted something fresh & local. Got an everything bagel, croissant with cream cheese & jalapeños, and a ham and cheese croissant with half a dozen donuts. OMG the croissant was delicious! Supper fluffy and a crunchy top! 10/10, I can't speak for their drinks but the food was delicious! Bagel was toasted to perfection as well. I got a coffee and a doughnut. The coffee was extremely weak and watery and tasted like dish water with cream in it. When I complained, the owner got all sassy with me and explained to me, even though he doesn't drink coffee himself, he knows his coffee isn't weak. He then tried to tell me that because it had been sitting there for a long time it has been gotten stronger as it aged! The owner of this Winchells, should not own a business that services the public, he should be a prison guard, in my humble opinion. I've tried giving Winchell's Donuts multiple chances, but it's consistently disappointing. Every single time I go, there's only one worker handling a line almost out the door. The wait is absolutely ridiculous for what ends up being a dry donut that tastes like it's been sitting out all day. Management, please hire more staff! The absolute worst first this girl ignores me like I don't have money I wanted a sandwich. She act like she did me a favor because I had two bucks on my phone and two bucks and change or I had a $200 bill bills. She didn't have the change to break the hundred dollar bills, but she also ignored me for a good 10 minutes while I sat there and she swept up and then when some other guy walked in she served him right away and then treated me like like like I shouldn't even be there that what the why why then I wanted a ham and cheese sandwich it's 434. I came in with $2.34 and two dollars on my phone and my Venmo OK so she takes electron payments she act like she did me a favor by taking my two dollars not taking the $.34 and give me a croissant all she did was fuck me up on getting fucking my sandwich because now I don't have the I still have no way to break the $200 and now I don't even have a sandwich money. the short guy with a cap that works here is extremely lazy. i came in wanting a turkey avocado bagel. he said he can't make that right now and i said okay and left. i came back 2 days later aka today because i was in the area. i go in and same lazy worker. i ask if i can get a turkey avocado bagel. he says "i can't" so im fed up and say "why" he says "we're out of bagels" how are you out of bagels? are you out of every kind of bagel too like an everything bagel or a cinnamon raisin bagel too? are you also out of croissants? or are you just lazy? what a shame, he should be fired he's also very awkward read more

This place use to be good. I went here at night the other day, and one guy working here late at night that doesn't know English to well. They barley had any doughnuts made and none were fresh. They were all hard and dried out. They refuse to make any fresh for you. When I got home I ate one and they were raw inside and not baked all the way!!!! So gross. The dough was pull apart like string cheese inside. I wonder how many others had the same problem here. Not sure if this one is independent owned but they got worse. I don't come here often but I will not be back here again. Please go somewhere else so you don't get sick. Also the doughnuts are never freshly made, they are a day old or sat out all day and are dry. Get somebody in here that knows what they are doing. Hire better management!!! read more

This Winchell's is easily the best in the valley and one of the best donut places in the valley as well. The donut makers who work here work super hard to make the donuts look presentable and taste delicious too. I decided to treat my family to donuts yesterday, because I had two step daughters in from out of town and my sisters family came to visit them, so I bought a dozen for $20 at the palm desert winchells (we each had one of the different types) Within an hour my step daughters complained of stomach cramps which we shrugged off.. Later my mom and toddler son both had diarrhea and myself and my daughter vommited them up. my sister called and told me after she left that both her toddlers had diarrhea and her and my brother in law had cramping and diarrhea. which seemed to last everyone through the night. None of us shared a meal and none of us were or are sick, the only thing we all ate was one of the donuts. I went back today to inform the lady that worked there with my reciept of $20 for a refund and the manager over the phone offered me $5 and said we probably had a virus and that nothing was wrong with the donuts they sold us. As she was rudely talking to me on the phone telling me how profitable her buisness is and that our complaint didn't matter, my daughter was swishing away flies that were on the counter and inside the case. I tried to explain to her nicely that I wasn't saying anything bad but that they definetly were the common denominator between two different households. Stop by to buy a dozen 3 times a week between 4:30am-5pm. When the older gateman is working only 3-4 trays are done?
