This little shop had about ten different types of donuts available during my visit. But they had about 50 apple fritters and I was told that "more" were coming out. There is an obvious reason for the apple fritter avalanche. They are very, very good. They are also enormous. I dare you to eat one of these belly-busters yourself. I only got a handful of donuts during my visit but they were all very well-made and delicious. Yes, they cost more (ok, much more) than your average donut but for an occasional special treat, these will more than fit the bill. This location is a great mom & pop spot. The inside is your basic donut shop, simple. The girls at the counter have been serving them up daily with a smile for quite sometime & have always been nice. Always love to visit local businesses when we are visiting! This is a great way to give back to the community and promote small businesses! We found Swiss Donuts which is a small donut shop on the way leaving Cathedral City. Just like your typical donut places, they have donuts, croissant, and other bakery items. We had their ham, egg, and cheese croissant, which was delicious! We didn't know the croissant was so big that we could just share one. The egg was cooked nicely with toasted croissant making it nice and warm breakfast. The donut holes was great too! Really enjoyed their food here. read more

The selection is always weak or sold out. You can't leave with a dozen doughnuts for under $30, which is insane especially considering they are basic and all taste the same. They are polite behind the counter, but even they know these donuts are way overpriced and tried to tell you how gourmet they are. They most definitely are not. I'll probably stop by here twice a year when donuts are required until I find a better choice. Way too expensive for regular stops, and not fancy enough for a special occasion. read more

I've eaten a lot of donuts in my life. As I've aged, I have significantly reduced my intake to the point that it's now a treat I allow myself once a month or so. We lived in LA for 17 years and moved to the desert three years ago. LA offers many choices when it comes to donuts and I sampled as many as I could over the years. Today, I treated myself and my wife to a mix of Swiss Donut's finest. So far, I've tasted only the maple cruller and it was simply one of the best donuts I've ever had. It was light and buttery with a perfect crust of maple-flavored sweetness. Fantastic! One recommendation for Swiss Donuts (and many other small local businesses): don't charge extra for credit card purchases. I realize there are fees involved that must be covered, but the world has moved on from cash transactions. Just bake it into the price of the donut. (Pun intended). Don't give people a reason to stop and think about the 50 cents. Just give them these fabulous donuts and charge whatever you want! read more

They make a good doughnut, and they are nicely presented. Fast and friendly service. They charge a one dollar convenience fee for credit card purchases, even though they have a sign that says contactless payment preferred. This is both counter to their agreement with the credit card company, and a way for them to have more cash sales so they can reduce the amount of income claimed with the IRS. It's the first day of 2024 and I'm sitting here thoroughly enjoying a hot latte' and a Bear-claw from Swiss Donuts in Palm Desert. Both are so delicious, I had to share. The coffee is super smooth and creamy. Much better than any latte I've had in a long time. I enjoyed every sip. The bear-claw tasted just like the ones my dad would bake on weekends, when I was younger. Brought back great memories and a big smile to start the year of proper. The girl behind the counter is really sweet and I look forward to my next visit when I will definitely be back to try some of the other delicious baked goodies. Go somewhere else. The girl in the front is emotionless. A robot would be more personable. They never have a good selection, even if you get there right as they open, plus they are very expensive. Also, if you get a dozen donuts, you are getting 12 donuts. Most donut shops I go to will at least do a baker's dozen. Winchell's gives you 14. Shoot, Vienna Donuts in Cathedral City will give you 1 or 2 extra donuts and throw a bunch of donut holes on top! read more

Ruined my nephews first birthday. Absolutely terrible experience! I placed a large order for a birthday party weeks in advance, and they canceled it at the very last minute. No explanation, no apology, just a cold "we can't fulfill it." This left me scrambling to find a replacement on the day of the party, which was stressful and completely unnecessary. They didn't even try to offer a solution or help make it right--just zero regard for their customers. If you're relying on them for a special occasion, DON'T. Yuck and waste of money. I have been wanting to grab something here for a while. I finally had a chance today and was totally disappointed. First, the cashier up charged both of my items, then charged a fee to use my card, and then charged tax. The croissant, bacon, egg and cheese was served in a little cardboard tray in a plastic bag. No napkins. Gross. And the sandwich had no taste whatsoever. Eggs must be powdered - no salt and pepper. Couldn't taste the cheese and could barely taste the bacon. 9I just had the best yeast/raised donut I have had in a long time. It was light, airy, flavorful and BIG! Ok, lesbehonest....I had two donuts; a glazed and a maple long john. Can 1 donut just replace each of my meals, please? It did NOT leave shortening-residue feeling on the rough of my mouth. Score! They had so many to choose from. Bonus; the make a very tasty bagel breakfast sandwich (can also be made on a croissant). Bonus bonus; they have 6 different types of brewed coffee to choose from (self serve) including decaf and a couple flavored ones! AND if espresso is your thang, they've got that too. AND they serve up Big Train Boba drinks. AND they're open til 8pm (they lovely girl who attended me told me they're the only donut shop open until 8pm instead of 2pm! Woop woop!) I came here on National Donut Day during my lunch break (I was running late so I couldn't get donuts in the morning) but even tho it was late in the donut day, they still had a good variety of donuts! Everyone at the office wanted a specific type of donut (of course), but fortunately they had each kind! The donuts are made fresh every morning. Love their jelly filled donuts and maple bars. Their apple fritters are huge! I wish there was a donut shop closer to Cook Street, but this one is definitely a good little donut shop. Stopped into this fabulous donut shop just to check things out after having Sushi next door while on vacation in the Palm Springs area. It was almost closing time and had the chance to speak with the owner who was most delightful. Although it was late the donuts looked fresh and delicious and they were huge. They had two of my favorite varieties Old Fashioned and the most incredible Apple Fritters that I have seen in a long time. The owner told me that they started the donut making process at around midnight in order to be ready for the morning rush. We also bought some glazed donuts that although were huge they were light as a feather. I am glad that we stopped by to pickup a few treats for breakfast.
