if you only read one part of my review, let it be this first portion: i have been going to wilton cleaners for 10 years now--same owners, same family business (that explains the small children that some reviewers misconstrue as 'day care') and consistently good work.
i don't wear $1200 suits. i wear normal business casual separates like the majority of people who participate in the great cattle drive to the Loop. i take my clothes to wiltons and it is 1) always on time 2) always clean and pressed. sometimes, when i've asked for items to come back in an unreasonable quick timeframe, i do see them in back with a lint roller before putting a bag on. i have never known a dry cleaner NOT to use lint rollers.
in 10 years not once have they misplaced or lost an item of clothing. never. completely reasonably priced dry cleaning and consistently good service.
i think the rest of this is probably about the other reviewer, whom i think has some serious bias issues. i don't know if anyone noticed, but plenty of not-quite-right things go on in this city. do you really want to know what route your carpaccio took to get to your $70/entree restaurant? some things that look scary in a city are, and some aren't. you kind of have to get over it or you should just move back to the suburbs.
i can't quite figure out which is worse, the fact someone has taken issue with it being a family-run business and family members inevitably being present, or the audacity to insinuate that something illegal is going on there.
but i guess it makes sense. now that damen has marc jacobs, joes jeans and lululemon, some people are disappointed that just north of armitage there still remains one locally owned business. read more
