**Review from 2024 .......... Added here from previous trip**…read more So finally tried Thai Basil. Here is my honest review.... I am sooo glad we have something different in Madera. With that said here we go... Service.. service was super slow for an empty Sunday night. The young lady taking orders had no clue what sauces were on the dishes, had no clue what the ingredients were, she couldn't explain anything, she read the description on the menu back to me. She stated she had not had most dishes there. Her description of the cucumber salad was it's cucumber in a clear watery sauce.. ‍ I'm happy she was there to take our orders and she was nice. Presentation.. Presentation was quite nice for Madera! It was nice to see simple, yet pretty playing! The curry soup.. the flavors were quite muted for Thai food IMO. It was a good difference in texture having it topped with wontons. We ordered it medium spicy as well, which was great. The spicy pork flat noodle dish had great heat at medium spice level, wish I would have gone hot, since I like things SPICY . The texture of the pork was quite tough since they used a leaner cut of meat which was ok. I was surprised at the amount of meat on the plate for a noodle dish. Speaking of noodles they were almost sprinkled in in super small pieces, but the texture was on point. We wished there were more noodles. The broccoli seemed out of place I wish there was more Chinese broccoli which was cooked to perfection!!! The cucumber salad was delicious!!! We both stated we wished the onions weren't three inches long. I will definitely be making this at home! It would be a perfect pairing to grilled chicken or shrimp for a nice summer dinner!! We loved it!!! Saltiness of the food.. I think of Thai as having a few key flavors and the dishes are definitely on the saltier side, this was lacking salt, butttttt I prefer more salt than most people so not a true fair assessment. I was surprised there weren't any sauces on the table. Design and lay out.. it was very small inside but they did well with the space allotted and I loved the decor. The place needs a good dusting, we sat next to the wall and the wood was white with dust directly over the table. Overall it was a great meal considering I didn't have to cook, the plating was lovely, and it was something different for Madera! I wish them well!!! I'm happy they are here!!! Buttttttttt so far Coconut Cafe in Merced has a strong hold on our heart!! I can't wait to go back and try the Larb and the Pad Thai!

We got pad kee mow with chicken and pineapple rice with pork. They were both delicious and I would for sure come back to try other things. Only losing one star because my rice had chicken and my noodles had no meat but still very good. The staff was kind when we picked up the food. Sorry but I forgot to take pictures. Both dishes 8-9/10

Food: I'm from San Jose, so my pho standards are emotionally…read morehigh. After moving out here, I finally gave this Milpitas spot a shot--and wow... this pho smacked me right back to childhood. I ordered my usual pho tai, large bowl, plus extra noodles because I believe in abundance. The noodles were fresh fresh--I can tell because when I spread them apart, they don't clump together like they've been napping in the pot all day. These noodles were awake, alert, and being stirred. Respect. The broth? Dangerous. Comforting. Spiritual. I finished the entire bowl like I was personally challenged by the chef. Cold weather + this broth = therapy. Service: I called ahead because I'm polite and didn't want to be that person showing up an hour before closing. They were super kind and said it was totally fine. You order and pay up front, which I loved--sat down and 10 minutes later my pho showed up like it knew I was hungry. Pro tip: speak up when ordering drinks--they forgot my soda, but honestly... the pho was so good I forgot I even wanted one. Ambiance: Plenty of seating, nicely spaced, and the place is CLEAN clean. The second someone leaves, the table is wiped down like it owes them money. Cleanliness is next to godliness, and this place is clearly blessed. Final Thoughts: I do wish they stayed open past 9, but that's my only complaint. Honestly, I'm kind of glad it's not as packed as it should be--more room for me to sit, sip, and slurp in peace. Chef, if you're reading this: you understood the assignment. I'll definitely be back.

The service is amazing they have kind workers and they are also very patient. Wait time doesn't take that long and even if it does wait long it is worth the 10-15 minutes. We ordered the pork egg rolls you get five, and they were really good , nice and crunchy just how I like them. We also tried the yellow chicken curry, which had really good flavor and was more on the soupy side. The chicken pad Thai had good flavor, and of course I had to try the basil rice, which I really liked. Overall, it was a good experience. If you're in the area and craving Thai food, this is a place worth trying.

I have really enjoyed the authentic flavors from this small restaurant near Fresno State. The…read moredishes showcase the hallmark balance of Thai cuisine--sweet, sour, salty, and spicy--all working together in harmony. The Pad Gra Prow (Thai basil stir-fry) stood out for its savory, spicy, and aromatic profile. I ordered it with ground chicken, my usual choice, and it came slightly crispy yet juicy, paired with a generous amount of peppery Thai basil. The rich umami sauce--built from soy, oyster, and fish sauce--coated the meat well, and it was served over rice with a crispy-edged fried egg. I prefer a runnier yolk, and the dish leaned a bit salty, but the bold, spicy flavors still made it a winning combination. The pad prik king was another highlight--a vibrant "dry" curry stir-fry with an intense salty-sweet heat and a fragrant citrus aroma from shredded kaffir lime leaves. I ordered it with beef, which was coated in a thick, concentrated red curry paste without coconut milk. The result was a glossy, deeply flavorful dish with a savory, aromatic, and fiery profile. A great version of this dish strikes a balance between a sharp salty punch and a subtle underlying sweetness, and this one delivered. The green beans were bright, crisp-tender, and fresh, though I would have liked a more generous portion. The kaffir lime leaves added a fragrant, citrusy lift that cut through the richness of the curry paste. The Thai crispy pork belly (Moo Krob) has been my favorite so far. It perfectly captured the defining contrast of crispy, golden-brown skin with tender, juicy meat and rendered fat. The dish was deeply savory and aromatic, with a subtle smoky undertone that added depth. Overall, the dishes are well-balanced and vibrant, showcasing fresh ingredients, bold herbs, and contrasting textures. Each plate reflects the complexity of Thai cooking, with a thoughtful interplay of flavors. The co-owner, originally from northern Thailand, brings extensive experience from running several popular restaurants in Thailand--this being her first in the United States--and that authenticity clearly comes through in the food. Thai Taste offers a menu heavy with vegan and vegetarian options, and every dish is made to order. The space itself is small, with a handful of indoor tables, some outdoor seating along the walkway, and counter seating facing the kitchen. A small cart in the center displays imported Thai snacks like spicy cookies and peanut brittle, adding a nice cultural touch. Located in the Bulldog Plaza shopping center near Fresno State, it is an ideal spot for students and anyone looking for a quick, flavorful meal without sacrificing authenticity.

Wanted to give this place a shot because it's close to my new work place and really enjoy it!…read more It's attached to the Tea Shop, which you have to walk through first to get to the restaurant. You'll then have to wait to be seated at the register. I think this set-up is kind of awkward but hey, at least they have cute sidewalk seating. There are plenty of tables and long benches to sit at and the restaurant itself feels clean and well-lit! The staff are super helpful also. Tried the House Special Beef Pho and it was pretty tasty! You do have the option to order your dish with regular thin noodles, flat noodles, or egg noodles. The broth is basil-y and the flavor has great depth. They have a self-serve station for condiments where you can grab some chili oil, jalapeños, bean sprouts, and lime. My favorite thing about this restaurant is that I don't feel too bloated after eating here (compared to other pho restaurants). Been enjoying this restaurant and eating here at least once a week!

It's been a minute since I've been back here... I heard they remodeled? But idk what changed lmao I…read moreguess it's been that long since my last visit (it hasn't been a full year yet, fyi). My memory is shot. I don't want to be handing out 5 stars so easily but I think they deserve it. The restaurant is very clean, and I love the little Asian lanterns they have, all different, above each table. Plenty of seating. When we got there (a little after 5), there was only one other table occupied... by the time we left (6:30), every table was nearly taken. Our waitress, as well as the other on the floor, were both very welcoming and friendly. They handled the service remarkably as a team. The fact that they were a packed house and still were very attentive with us, checking how we're doing, checking on our water refills... these are the little things I appreciate most (and, of course, good food). I got the Pho with the Fatty Brisket, my friend got just the Steak Pho. They have a bar against the wall with all garnishes you may need to grab what you'd like. This is pretty smart... It saves them from waste. Instead of giving people items they may not use-- they would just grab what they'd like themselves. My friend grabbed her goodies, I prefer mine as is. To me, if your broth is good and doesn't require me to flavor it... I'll eat it just like that (unless I feel like adding spice). I've only ever been to a few other Pho places where I had to season up the broth myself...definite no no for them. All my friends who have gone out to eat Pho with me know I eat it just how I get it. Pho from my Mama is a different story though... I put the works (not because it's not flavorful) but, it's just different. Moving on... They also have a Teazona in their establishment. I've tried a few different drinks in the past but came to regularly deciding on the Tiramisu Milk Tea (no flan for me, light boba). Make sure to shake it well. You can also let them know your preference on the level of sweetness. We both got this tonight and it nearly tipped me over on the full scale. Couldn't finish it. Everything was really good though. Pho was the perfect choice for this weird, gloomy weather we've been having. The price is a bit up there but that seems to be the norm everywhere nowadays. But-- for the portion, the quality, and the service? Worth it.

It was grilled marinated chicken. We had a pretty big party and all the food came out quickly. Like every Thai restaurant, the inside is fairly small. Aside from the food and drinks to order, everything is self served, so there will not be a waiter or waitress coming to your table. You go and make your orders at the front register. They have paper plates, napkins, plastic forks and spoons, and to-go plates available. LA Kitchen is definitely a favorite in Fresno. Love their dessert and drink options. The staff seem young and untrained, and they drop food off and disappear like it's a magic trick. No time to ask for anything--still waiting on the veggies that come with pho. At this point, I think they're being shipped from overseas. Food quality? Down bad. Prices? Up like gas. I ordered the Thai boat special, and the "fried" pork belly was basically 99% fat, 1% disappointment--and not even fried. It tasted like pho that gave up on life. We also ordered pork belly with sticky rice... or at least we thought we did. After 40 minutes and reminding three different servers, it never came. I wasn't sure if I was dining or participating in a scavenger hunt. And the restroom? No hand soap, no paper towels--just vibes. Apparently cleanliness is optional now. This used to be my spot, but I won't be back anytime soon. Maybe I'll return when the service improves... or when my pork belly finishes its long journey back from wherever it went.
