This little hole in the wall is not in a great part of town and I'd recommend you either take your food to go or get it delivered because the food deserves all the credit! We ordered a pork stick, a bahn mi, pad see ew and pork ribs with sticky rice. The food was immaculate. The sticky rice was perfect to eat by the finger full and the pad see ew was blooming with thick noodles and rich broth. The bbq ribs were so hot temperature wise I ended up taking them home and they were good cold as well! The bahn mi was delicious! The bread was soft and crusty and the spread was tangy. I really liked it! Now for the not great part of the review. Do yourself a favour and don't dine in. The entire restaurant was poorly lit and grubby, dirty in some places, and while we sat under the table with the brightest light, we also sat at a table in an area that smelled a lot like urine. There were almost no decorations and although it was lunch time there were no other diners. Also, the bathroom was out of order. Once again, the food was great but the ambiance was nothing I wanted to return to.

I've ordered here a couple of times and the food has been ok, I've only tried a few dishes none of the soups yet, it's a really bad location, outside on the lot you see garbage and used needles.... It doesn't seem like a safe place, it's far from other businesses and just feels and looks sus. Both times I've gone it's been to grab food before I head to work, so around 11:30am, maybe that's why it's so empty? The inside is nice and clean, service was friendly and food comes out in a timely manner. Will I go back? Probably not, due to the location (sad face)

The pork belly was really good a little overcooked for some of the pieces but it didn't ruin it. Flavor was great. I also got a pork skewer which was even better EXCEPT they had bones in them. I don't think things on a skewer should have bones. They should be easy to eat. Overall I was happy with the food

Don't let looks deceive you, this restaurant is a hidden gem. Tucked in between a liquor store and thrift shop, this restaurant serves fresh and delicious authentic southeast Asian cuisine. The waitstaff is friendly & attentive. I believe this is a family owned business where children laugh while doing their schoolwork on nearby tables. I will definitely return to get my Pad Kee Mao fix.

Their food isn't so bad, but I ordered chaomein to go and was eating it and bit into a thin metal piece of whatever it was.

Large chicken pho and shrimp spring rolls ordered. The worker didn't say anything about it being ready soon or how long it would take. I went in to get it. I was told to take a seat upon entering. It wasn't ready yet, but it had only been a like 5 minutes. Clean, safe and practiced restaurant. Wall decor and typical seats with tables. They also have a little stage. One of the workers was very kind and offered a bottle of water while waiting. Appreciated! Order was ready shortly later. Paid for it. A worker had problems with payment on the new register aka cell phone connection to a card holder. Took a little bit, but got it to work and the worker that handed the water to me handed over the order with well wishes. =) Lunchtime! Got everything set up. Chicken pho and shrimp spring roll order split. The large chicken pho only comes with 3 ounces of chicken. FYI everyone! Luckily, we had more chicken here and mother gave me all of the chicken that came with the order. You get a lot of noodles that come in it along with seasonings/ hot sauces and fresh jalapeños. The shrimp spring rolls were fresh and good. Problem, 2 shrimp spring rolls only had 3 pieces of shrimp and the other only had 2 pieces of shrimp. They did include extra peanut sauce and that was really good. My chicken pho half was really good! Added the hot sriracha sauce that made it better. Plus, I had all of the chicken. Mother said her portion was good. Of course that's after adding chicken from the tiny portion they gave for a large. She really liked the spicy oil they included. Good service and pretty good food! Just should have been more chicken and more shrimp in the spring rolls.

Have to be honest, I definitely judged a book by its cover with this one. My boyfriend and I were in town for a funeral and wanted something different to eat for dinner. Found this place and drove here. It's in a run down strip mall/stores area, the parking lot was pretty much empty, and the outside didn't look that appealing. Quiet Sunday evening in the place, no one was there, it was a bit dim. We ordered, lao sausage app, lao papaya special spicy that included kaopoon noodles and pork belly, and raw laab. YA'LL, the smell from the bag was amazing!!!!!! Got back to the Airbnb and finally had our first bite and LORDDDDD ALMIGHTY! These are the best lao sausages I have ever eaten! We could not stop talking about them and doing my happy food dance. The papaya was crunchy and didn't look like it was spicy but it packed a punched. Only thing I wished it had was snake long green beans and thai eggplant. The pork belly was thin and skin was crispy! Yum. As for the raw laab, I wasn't used to how it looked but I liked it and my boyfriend liked it a lot! I love how much herbs that put in there. Service was great, 2 nice and friendly gals worked there and helped with the menu and explaining. Overall, we are back home in MN and we both said, we would only go back to Fresno for these lao sausages. Praying that maybe if they see this review they would be willing to ship them frozen and overnight. Hahah.

Excellent, authentic food. Of all the restaurants in town, this place has the best Lao food. The laab cut was on the thicker side, but still delicious. The papaya salad is my favorite in all of Central Valley.

2nd time here. 1st time was about 10-12 years ago. Both times blow me away! Not in the best corner of town BUT to-go and delivery items are an option...

Wow. This is a hidden gem for southeast asian food within Fresno. I enjoyed the Laos papaya salad even though it was too spicy for me and the chicken pad kee mao. I will be sure to come back again.

    Ohmygoodness! Beef laab so yummy!!!

It was super crispy without being hard, easy to bite into, and not overly fatty at all. Every sauce paired perfectly with the sticky rice, pork belly, and fried chicken. The chicken itself was incredibly moist and flavorful. I was secretly hoping for crispier skin, but honestly the flavor made up for it. Before leaving, I ordered the sausage with sticky rice plus both the shrimp and pork spring rolls to-go because I already knew I was going to want more later. The spring rolls were SO fresh and delicious. The shrimp wasn't overcooked, the pork was tender, and that peanut sauce absolutely tied everything together. The sausage was another standout, very flavorful, juicy, easy to chew, and perfect with the sticky rice. My only regret was forgetting to ask for chili oil before I left... thankfully I had some at home because it took everything to the next level. Big shoutout to Lana working the front counter, she was incredibly friendly and generous the entire time. I also got to meet La herself, and she was so warm and easy to talk to. They have a large seating area on the right side of the restaurant and condiments on every table. You can genuinely tell this place puts a lot of heart into the quality and flavors they serve. Unlike my friend, @Kubo, who said lots of parking. We arrived two hours after her, about 6:20pm, and the parking lot was near topped off, forcing some to have to park in unpaved areas. This was mostly due to the neighboring gym. (Sorry for those who have slammed vehicles without bags.) The crispy pork was delicious and crunchy. The chicken had a sweet to its savory. Very happy with the sauce choices as well. And sticky rice for the win. Two restrooms available. Half the tables were occupied by customers. One table by other Yelpers, who I wanted to take a picture with, but they were mid chomp. Disappeared while I was stuffing my face. Noise level was average, with adorable children throughout, music playing, and lots of order pickups. Will be happy to return!

They have a large variety of noodles here, pho, thai boat noodles, khao soy, khao poon, and also tons of other thai /cambodian / lao choices. We got a thai boat noodle, khao soy, and pork belly to share. The thai boat noodle and khao soy are delicious. It was my first time ordering khao soy I thought khao soy was a curry based dish, but my noodles were a pork based broth, still yummy though! The pork belly here is huge and served hot and super crispy, miles better than any other pork belly I've tried. The thai tea had an off putting flavor, like they had made it with soy mik? instead of condensed evaporated milk? Total was $83 after tax and tip, this place is pretty hole in the wall but even hole in the wall places have to charge more now to keep up with inflation. Great fast service !

Khao soy. Soy happy.*…read more Why Khao Soy? Because Kh-ao piek and Kh-ao poon feel as standardized as ph-o, but Khao Soi seems to vary from shop to shop. Not just the spelling. Just my observation. And this was amongst the top 3 of the Khao Soys I've had. Lao Kao Soi anyway. The Th-ai version is a different dish to me. I came here Sunday evening. Things were slow. I told him the order just as he gave me the menu, and in exchange, he gave me a plate of bean sprouts and lime wedge instead. Haven't seen that for Kao Soy yet. Then came the utensils. And soon, the ginormous bowl, nay, tub, of KaSoy. The last time I saw a bowl this big in the Bay Area was decades ago in a pho house. They don't make extra larges like they used to in SF. I felt like Patrick, longing, staring with excitement and anticipation at SpongeBob's Pea-nut On-ion Sun-dae , trying to hold down the giggles and butterflies while my eyebrows are sparking. Except this Khao Soy actually SMELLS GOOD. And I still have my eyebrows. And I was not disappointed. The soup was HOTTT, with 3 Ts. The size of the bowl helped keep it that way. The surface of the lava lake was covered by the ground pork that defines Khao Soy. Completely. Just look at the picture. (I took a sip of the broth with the spoon before the picture) I promise you that I didn't go in with a camera in my hand, or point my phone as if I'm taking a video. Maybe it's the end of the day and they were feeling generous or just needed the ground pork gone. Well, I used my phone as a phone, and I didn't use the camera until this bowl came out. Just trust me. The broth was rich with notes of fermented bean paste and heavy notes of garlic, cut by the freshness of tomatoes. Heavy by the standards of a rice noodle soup. The lime helps. You might want to use an extra wedge too. Don't hold back though. There's a treasure hunt in progress. You see, within this bowl were a bunch of roast pork pieces. Quality roast pork pieces. The chicharron still very crispy when I got to each piece. (But that doesn't mean you should sin by letting the chicharron get soggy!) Seems like others have their roast pork left on top, but mine had sunk to the bottom when the Khao soy had landed. No big. This is like how won-ton noodle soups are served when you're Canto, the best stuff at the bottom. What impressed was that the roast pork was still crispy! The particular flat rice noodles used seems to be re-hydrated dried noodles. Normally a downgrade but in this case, a good move. Yes, fresh noodles carry the soup better, but in this boiling cauldron, the noodles used handled the heat much better and longer. After I had finished the noodles, the soup was still very hot, enough that I added the bean sprouts, which were still cooked to a point that they were absorbing the soup's flavor. I tried to finish the soup, but failed. Soooo close, but I have a drive to drive, and I don't want to have an accident on the way back. I don't know where the actual banos are in Los Banyos, and they're probably closed by the time I'm passing through. Now mind you, this is about as heavy as rice noodle soup will get. Take your time once you've found the chicharron. Share it if you can. Don't rush like me or you'll be burping garlic like I did rushing back to SF. If you are on a drive between SoCal and SF Bay or Sac, may I suggest taking the 99 instead of the 5? Instead of hours of just brown yellow and gas stations, you can stop at cities with proper markets. Instead of grab and go fast food or selling your kidney at Harris, why not enjoy some proper, affordable, sit-down chow in Fresno? Maybe this will open your eye to new foods as well! *(Yes. Yes. Terrible espanyol, if you can even call that Spanish, don't come at me with chanclas, pour favour!)

After being seated and served water, it took quite some time for our server, Leth, to take our orders. One coworker specifically ordered the pork belly appetizer and confirmed twice that it was entered correctly. He assured her it was. Shortly after ordering, appetizer plates, spoons, and napkins were brought out, so we assumed everything was in progress. Food slowly began arriving, but service issues quickly became apparent. The first entrée served was a beef pad thai, and when my coworker asked for a fork, our server instead asked if anyone wanted chopsticks. He returned several minutes later with only two pairs of chopsticks and had to be reminded again about the forks. By the time utensils finally arrived, several people were already halfway through their meals. Unfortunately, our server rarely checked back on the table. When my coworker never received the pork belly appetizer she had confirmed twice, she had to walk to the register herself, only to be told it had never been entered into the system. There was also confusion regarding to-go orders and payment. One coworker initially informed the server she had a to-go order and wanted it on a separate check, and he agreed. Later, another to-go order was placed separately as well. At the end of the meal, when we requested split checks, we were told the system only allowed two. We adjusted and agreed to one group check and one separate check for bookkeeping purposes. However, when we reminded the server that the to-go order had been promised on a separate check, he denied ever agreeing to it. Things became even more frustrating when I paid and requested a receipt for record-keeping. Leth told me to wait while he processed the remaining payment and reprinted it. After about 15 minutes, he never returned. As coworkers started leaving, several of us went to the counter to follow up. He eventually returned with only a credit card slip and kitchen printout, claiming he could not reprint the receipt. A manager later approached and explained that she had been told we didn't want a receipt, which was simply untrue--we specifically requested one for bookkeeping. To add to the disappointment, the mango sticky rice we ordered to go came with corn and taro, which was not disclosed anywhere on the menu or in the photos. This was an unexpected surprise and something customers should be aware of, especially for food allergies or dietary restrictions. I would strongly recommend updating the menu description and photos to clearly reflect all ingredients. This experience was especially disappointing because we've visited before and ordered takeout multiple times without issue. The food itself was actually decent--I'd give it 4 stars--but the service was honestly one of the worst experiences we've had for a planned group lunch. The server seemed overwhelmed, disorganized, and easily confused, which made what should have been a celebratory lunch unnecessarily frustrating. The only thing that salvaged the visit was that the food was decent and the restaurant happened to be close enough to Paris Baguette afterward.
