We had a giant yellow jacket nest in our wall void, with numerous yellow jackets invading our bedroom. We have small kids and they were freaking out. We've been using Willard's Pest Control for years on a regular basis to spray for spiders. Have loved their work in the past but not sure what has happened recently. We received multiple invoices showing a zero balance due and continued to see an increase in the number of spiders. We assumed that there was no charge because they did not spray but months later, a charge appeared. We explained that we did not pay because the house was not sprayed but they insist we need to pay. Obviously being a long time customer no longer matters with this company since they didn't care when I said we would find another company to do business with. Will pay but definitely will not be using them again. Very disappointed. read more

Like several other reviewers, I too feel ripped off by this company. I had some fly-like insects coming in from the ceiling. I scheduled an appointment and made it explicit that my goal was to have the source identified. They charged me $88 to come home. They didn't attempt to find a source but just collected a specimen, saying they would try to identify it and that would lead us to the source. They now tell me that they suspect it's some kind of wasp but they aren't sure, and any actual identification of the specimen would be an extra cost. So as a customer, I have received no value for the $88 I was charged. read more

While the people that came out to the house have been more than pleasent, I would have to say that the work has yet to be completed after MANY visits. After recent landscaping in the neighborhood, myself and my neighbors have had a rat problem. They have gotten into my attic and we can't seem to get rid of them. We have had Willard's out a few times, the first time they put poison up there and later cleared carcasses and determined the issue to be resolved. We noticed more noises and had them come out again, at which time they put traps in the attic and on the roof for squirrels. The squirrel guy was very consistant, changing the traps often and doing a great job. The attic guy never came back to check the traps, and a few days later we started to notice more dead smells. Since this visit, they have been out at least 3 times. Each time they find a new entry point or two, and each time they say that it's been sealed up. They also can't seem to find any more carcasses, even though the house continues to have that dead smell. The last time they came out they brought the manager (who said he would call at 11:30a to set things up with me; I left work to be available and then no one showed up until 1:00p without a phone call) and then I was once again told they would be back in three days to check the traps. It's been a week and a half and I have not heard from anyone; and we are once again hearing critters in the attic, the crawlspace below the house, and behind our cabinets. Needless to say I will not be calling them again, and if you have a rodent problem I would recommend you stay away from them as well. read more

Don't hire these guys! They charge for estimates!! Super unprofessional, almost comical lack of coordination and customer service. I called them about a bat issue and they said they would come out to look, but would need to call me back later that day or next day to schedule their bat expert. A week later they called me to set up the appointment to come out. Frankly, I had forgotten about them by that point and had two other companies come out to provide bids in that week. On appointment day they show up an hour late for the appointment. Rick, one of the two guys that showed up didnt seem like he knew anything about pest control or what they needed to do, although he said it was going to cost me a lot of money to seal any potential openings that bats could get in through. The other guy, Colton, told me that even though he could see no bats in the attic, they "might have crawled down into the insulation to hide" and that I still needed to hire them to do expensive exclusion work. Bats don't hide on the floor of your attic according to the other pest control companies, so my conclusion is that he was just lying to me to get me to hire them. Now, a week later, I still have not received an estimate. Do yourself a favor and hire anyone else. UPDATE: About a month after I wrote this review I received a bill from Willard's for $150. Apparently, they charge for their estimates, even if, as in my case, you never receive the estimate for the work. I received NO services from them for what they billed me. Other than the bill, I have not heard anything from the from the moment they left my driveway. Considering my review, you'd think they'd contact me. If you read the other reviews, these guys never follow up and you'd be crazy to hire them. Take my advice-- go with any other company and don't give them the business! read more

For the most part, the customer service improved the more I became a pest! A pest of a sense of urgency! The first thing I was asked when I initially called for an appointment, was my credit card, and it wouldn't be charged until services rendered. The tech came out and conducted an exterior and a brief interior inspection of the house. We were experiencing activity of rats and/or mice inside the home. The tech said he placed a couple of traps in the crawl space and were advised to place some in the home, carefully, since have two small dogs. Not poison, peanut butter. There were some holes and such needed to be patched up and my husband was instructed to repair the holes and some burring activity around the entry of the crawl space. My husband was willing to take on the task in order to save come money. Long story short, with multiple conversations, emails and calls directly to the office, they were too busy to come out. We did have Scot who came out free of charge a couple of times and patient and kind, however, action needed to come into play and that didn't happen. We caught 3 rats inside the home and there were 3 caught in the crawl space. The rats were in my kids' room! One of the tech's said we needed to help eradicate the problem! Where were they? We couldn't wait for help. We called another company who came out the next 2 days and found 5 access points under the house and sealed it up and we haven't seen activity since. Also put 12 traps under the house instead of 4 and on the perimeter of the house. Sense of urgency and got the job done. Guaranteed. Sometimes it pays for the big guns to come out since the bigger companies have the staff and resources needed, instead of a company that can't keep up to the demand. Don't bite off more than you can chew. I didn't have 2 weeks to wait for help when there was rats inside my house! I moved on! If you need help, don't use this company! They called for a payment three times and I told them every time I am still waiting for an estimate. Three months later, I still don't have an estimate. Oh, I will tell the estimator to send it to you, oh, we will send it by end of tomorrow. Well, that "tomorrow" was two weeks ago. I do not need them to come out to my house so they can tell me I have bats! And charge me $88.00! I knew I had bats and that is why I called them in the first place! Are you kidding me?! They told me when I called that they treated for bees, and then the service technician contradicted what I was told and acted very put out at having to inspect the bee problem I was having. They did absolutely nothing - didn't find the nest; didn't do any spraying; didn't provide any follow up recommendations - they did absolutely nothing and charged me almost $100.00. Stay miles away from them! They are extremely shady practice. I hired them to remove bee hives from eaves on the home. They quoted me a price of $140-$180 on the phone. They came out and removed some hives. Even when I asked them to remove all of them on the site, they did not. I called them 2 days later and told them that some bee hives are left and they said that someone will come next day and take care of it. They DID NOT say that second trip will be extra charge. Then say sent me a bill of $242 for first trip (when they had quoted 140-180) and $150 for second trip when they had quoted 0. I strongly disrecommend them as they lie, want to charge ridiculous fees and don't complete the work correctly. read more

Jon diagnosed the wood-boring beetle cause and gave honest recommendation of just replacing the wood and not chemical treatment. Jon also inspected our entire house and gave some good practical advice on best practices for pest prevention. We discussed some reasonable preventative maintenance packages with no pushy sales pitches. Seem like good folks to do business with. read more

These guys missed their appointment; costing me a half day of work. When they finally got someone out to inspect they promised to get back to me with a bid the next day. They didn't. When I called to find out what the hold up was they promised to give a bid again the next day, but again failed to do so. Clearly these guys didn't want the job of dealing with my raccoon problem. They should've been honest about it up front instead of playing their stupid game and costing me a week of time. They should also remove themselves from affiliation with Northwest Nuisance Control. I found them on line, but they sent out Willard's to do the inspection. These guys are unreliable. read more

The service use to be provided by Safeguard Pest and I had great results and great service. Since Willard bought them and started doing quarterly service, my mole problem is back, my carpenter ant problem is back and my rodent problem is back. The people are friendly enough but they consistently do not call or email before coming out for the quarterly service as we have requested numerous times due to having a dog. When I called to cancel, they asked if I would let them speak to the manager to see what they can do for me. Never heard back so as of today I am no longer a client. read more

Sokhara from Willard's Pest Control came to my apartment to take care of a yellowjacket nest that was INSIDE OUR WALLS. The yellowjackets had eaten through the drywall and we entering the apartment. Sokhara drilled a couple of holes in the wall, blew his awesome poison gas into the walls, and took care of the problem 100%. HE was in and out in less than an hour and was courteous, polite, and informative. It appears that the yellowjackets have been completely exterminated. We couldn't be happier. read more

Our first experience with Willard's was pretty good. We got the same day treatment for the bee nest in our sidings after we called them. It looked the majority bee activities were extinguished after the treatment. after day two, we kept seeing bees (3 to 5) coming in and out of the fested area again. We waited for two weeks and the problem became more and more serious. We called willards again because it is still in their service warranty. We got a retreatment. Hope the bees will be killed all this time. read more

We've had them out several times due to mice issues, the first two techs that came out were great (Zach and Nick). When we called a year later to have our crawl space quoted for a clean out, an older gentleman (Johnny) came out and he was not very helpful. Very opinionated and didn't care, even said he was only doing this to pass time because he was retired! Prices are fairly reasonable but if you call to schedule an appt, make sure you get a good tech, it makes a difference. read more

I called Willards Pest Control to come and look at moisture/pest related damage behind drywall. When I called they said the inspection would be complimentary. The technician that came did not know what he was doing. I complained to the office and a manager came out to inspect. This was all supposed to be complimentary. I started getting invoices each month and I would call and ask to talk to the manager. No one ever called me back. I finally got a manager on the phone in July and he said he would look into the matter and call me back. He never called back so I called him. He told me the charges were valid and due. If you check their reviews (I wish I had) you will see they are not a company worth hiring. If there was a zero star rating that would be more appropriate. Vicki P read more

I had Willard's for several years and was pretty happy with the service. That said it changed when the bi monthly service was not done well and another service was needed. This one was incomplete, as my cameras showed the tech didn't even attempt to go on my back deck and I was charged a full service call for this "call back". The worst of it was trying to reach the manager Rick who after finally reaching him, told me he told me he'd talk to his tech and call me the following day. 2 weeks later I tried to reach Rick who was always on a call and after leaving my name and number 3 times in two days I finally reached him after calling again. No resolution was offered other than "we've been real busy". Things happen I get it, but when a customer is treated with such disregard when trying to get a resolution of a problem they created I have no patience for that. If you want so so service with no customer service Willard's is your company to go with. If you expect more, I'd go elsewhere where you may get a call back. read more

This review would have been a 1-star, but the technician who came to my house (Chris Robertson) was outstandingly professional and knowledgable about the ants that have been driving me crazy (during which time I had the flu). I called my HOA manager about the ant problem, gave him my phone number, and Willard's (HOA contract company) called me on Monday, April 24. No one could come to take care of the ants until the following Monday, May 1, between 8:30 and 10:30. Still beset by ants, on May 1 I was ready and waiting . . . .and waiting . . . so I called Willard's at 11:00 only to find I had been rescheduled--but not notified--for Wednesday the 3rd, same time frame. Same waiting game on Wednesday, called them again, and was told that the technician should be in my area sometime that afternoon, to replace some traps! (didn't have any!). After talking to three people, I was told the technician would be at my house between12:30 and 1:30 . . . So Chris showed up at 11:30 and saved the day. He really was wonderful, applied ant bait to key locations inside, and sprayed the foundation outside. Have seen very few ants since then! read more

An animal had crawled through the dryer vent outside and ended up in the bottom half of our dryer - not in the actual drum of the dryer. By the time their guy, Brandon, came out, we hadn't heard any noises, so we thought the animal had either left or died. Brandon stuck his hand in the dryer hole in the back, didn't feel anything and determined the animal was gone. He did put a wire mesh on the vent outside. Cost came to close to $90. Two days later we could smell a rotting animal in our dryer. My husband and I ended up getting the dead animal out outselves which was not fun. I think Brandon should have shown a flashlight into the dryer and we probably should have made him do that, but we generally don't tell people how to do their jobs. He would have seen a dead animal stuck beyond arm's reach. When I called to tell the company that they really didn't get the animal out, the guy that answered the phone was so biting and nasty that I have to give this company a bad review. If he had said, "I will tell Brandon to use his flash light in those cases," I wouldn't be writing this. Brandon did not do a thorough job and the guy answering the phone didn't take responsibility for his worker. Use another company. read more

Well, I was looking forward to having the chance to rate Willards on their ability to do their job, but unfortunately they didn't even give me the chance. The first time, Willards came out, did the inspection and we didn't hear back for 2 weeks with a report. We ended up calling them and it turned out that the lost the report (STRIKE 1). So we scheduled another appointment to have them come out again to re-do the inspection. Turns out that they didn't bother to let us know that they weren't coming out, so we sat at the property for 2 hours waiting for them (STRIKE 2). Thanks for the complete waste of friggin' time guys, appreciate it! So since this was a time sensitive job and we needed someone out the next day, they proceeded to tell us that no one could come out and we would have to wait a week to get anyone out there (STRIKE 3). I expect companies to at least be prompt and considerate of their clients and possibly try to make things right when they know they dropped the ball, Willards struck out with all three of these aspects. read more

In my opinion, go elsewhere to find a good pest control company. We called these folks. They sent someone, who from the sounds of it, was a subcontractor? Anyway, he crawled into our crawl space. Determined we had no dead rats down there (although we could SMELL SOMETHING TERRIBLY FOUL)., then proceeded to nail some wire mesh onto our vents outside. That cost us $350 for 4 wire meshes to cover the vents and the "look around the crawl space" process. After he left, we continued to smell something rotten (the smell would float up through our heater vents). We called a different company to come out. They found 3 DEAD RATS in our crawl space! Just lying there rotting. SO GROSS. We hired them on the spot to clean out the crawl space and place new insulation down there. It was a couple thousand, but worth it. Anyway, we won't be calling Willards. BTW, I called Willards to complain and they had the guy call us back. He said if we wanted him to look for dead rats, we should've said so. REALLY???? He was in our crawl space looking around and he did not see 3 very dead rats? If he had integrity, he would've looked for them anyway (since we mentioned the odor), then, offered to remove them at extra cost. (Although, the guy from Clean Crawls removed them for FREE, before we even decided to hire them or not.) read more

I scheduled an appointment in the afternoon for the following morning but no one showed up. I called after the arranged time and they apologized and offered to have someone come by in an hour. I said that worked and requested a discount given the inconvenience. I was told that the general manager would call me back after he got off the phone. No one called me back or showed up. After being called about a rodent (Maybe Dead) in the finished basement of a tenants home I called Willard's pest control. I had the renter set the appointment for them to go out. The renter let the people at Willard's know the smell was in the basement. She then called them back and cancelled the appointment do to the fact she was going to be out of town. Willards sent out a technician anyway. The technician walk around the out side of the home. ( This is not hard to do) and said there was no smell. They then charged us for the service. After calling them and speaking with there accounting department and having her look through the records, she said we should not be charged and it had been called in to cancel. I received another bill next month with a note saying the owner said it needed to be paid. I called the owner and explained what happened. He said he would look in to it and call me back. This did not happen. He just sent a bill and told accounting it needed to be paid. I will never use this company again, it is a waist of time and money. read more

Poor poor service and worse handling of poor service. We have been using Willard's at two homes for years and when Willard's changed our field technician, the results were horrible. After reaching out to Willard's office and GM, I was told they would only apply another treatment for full service cost. Further, their records as to the dates of our applications had huge holes (we used them multiple times in 2015 and they had no records of this.) When trying to allow Willard's the opportunity to make things right, I was first met with a "you have to pay full price for another service", second with a promise to have a Manager call me next day... he never did and I had to call back three days later after no call, third a mail from a Manager that never landed in my inbox (not in junk or clutter folders), and lastly a final call to provide Willard's one last chance to make things right met only with... we are not going to help you and the onus is on you to provide us with invoices/records of our service if you want any help(remembering their record keeping is broken.) Net net is I understand and appreciate everyone and every company make mistakes, but it is how that company responds and treats its customers that show the true DNA of a company. I had hoped Willard's would respond and make their errors right because I had been a valued customer for years, but after giving them opportunity after opportunity to do so Willard's showed with Willard's the customer comes last. read more
