We learned later that they only installed patches over the areas the birds peck, leaving many ares left for them to choose from. They also sprayed. This morning we had a duo show up pecking here and there around the house, probably on the parts left bare, they stayed for an extended period of time. 5 star service! I had a bird trying to make a home in an exterior air vent on my townhouse, so I called Bird Busters to see if that was something they could help with. The manager wasn't available when I called but the receptionist took down my information and I got a call back the next morning! After I described my bird situation the manager/owner said they had a guy doing a job nearby who would be able to come take a look at the vent in 1-2 hours and give me a service estimate. He arrived as promised, got my approval for the service, and installed a screen/shield over the vent right then and there! And while he was up installing the screen he noticed some damage birds had done to the wood trim around a window. He took photos and shared them with me, so I can reference them when I'm deciding about future repairs. Really impressed with the speed and quality of service from Bird Busters! read more

Aptive service I have to say the person who does the service does a very good job. However I feel I was pressured a bit to sign the one year contract. It seems a bit expensive. So I say consider it very carefully. And watch out for the $199 cancellation fee. read more

I had Bird Busters come out to install a balloon to deter a woodpecker that had been frequenting my house. They charged $175 for this, which seemed like a lot for what amounted to 10 minutes of work, but I understand they need a minimum charge to make the trip worth their time. What I didn't expect was for the balloon to fall down less than one week later and them telling me it would be $50 to come out and rehang it! Yes there was some wind that day, but it wasn't that bad, and taking a closer look at the balloon it looks like the problem has more to do with their work rather than any weather. Taking a closer look at the balloon I was pretty surprised to see their method of hanging was affixing some wire to the balloon with a glob of hot glue (see picture). If I was trying to ensure that I'd get called out to reinstall these things regularly, this is probably the method I would use too. Not impressed. read more

Bird Busters - Shoddy work - Pest Control Near Me - Kirkland, Washington

This team responded in minutes to our online inquiry about some pigeons that had been making trouble on our townhouse roof and gutter elbows for months. After sending photos I quickly received a PDF with details of what could be done to combat the birds, and a ballpark estimate of pricing (which turned out to be exactly what they charged). The next business day after my inquiry they sent a team out for an in-person inspection. These two immediately got the ladder out and were up on our (very high) townhouse roof figuring out what was needed, then went ahead with the work. Within two hours they'd finished with their cleaning, adding of spikes and installing of mesh barriers to eaves where the pigeons had been roosting. When a few days later we found that the pigeons had discovered a hard to see gutter elbow hangout spot that hadn't been treated with spikes, Bird Busters came out right away and took care of it at no extra charge. What we experienced was a well coordinated team and speedy service, for what we felt was a very reasonable price. A neighbor had a far more expensive experience with a different company, who seemingly went overboard with spikes lining the whole roof. Meanwhile we are now pigeon-free for quite a bit less $$, and the only regret is not doing this immediately when we noticed the problem. read more

I'm giving Bird Busters two stars, unfortunately, because my interactions with them started out great and ended poorly. Some of their employees are very competent and know their birds. Not true for all of them, however. It was difficult to get an appointment scheduled accurately - the office repeatedly got their dates wrong and asked me to reschedule which was a hassle. Others acted very unprofessionally, yelling at me over the phone and arguing with me about how they run their business. While I was following the precedent they had set prior regarding when and who I gave my credit card information to for payment (I got a phone call from the office after a work appointment), this person got very upset and was shouting at me that that was not how they ran their business and demanding that I pay him over the phone immediately. It made me very uncomfortable and eventually I spoke to the office folks who agreed that I could pay them in the same manner that we had discussed before. read more

I contacted Bird busters about some nests on my knee braces. They came out and provided a bid and did the work on the same day. They had a different solution to what was there before (spikes) that looks better and will last forever without the worry of nesting happening again. They were also very attentive to timing to make sure the nests were not inhabited. read more

I used bird busters several years ago spent good money on cages for vents. One vent has become an issue so I called to get a quote for something different. The lady seemed annoyed I actually wanted a quote said she'd send something. I called 3 days later. She said I'd get it that day, it's been over a week now, no quote. UPDATE: I had to drop down to 3 stars due to findings from three other companies. I bought my house in March and the inspector had noted at least one nest in February. I wasn't aware at the time, due to me being somewhat new to the area, that Starlings like to begin hunting for breeding grounds right around February. The previous owners were not keeping up the home very well, so I inherited their problem, and money got tight. The chirping got unbearable, so in May I called Northwest Nuisance Pest Control, who referred me to Bird Busters. I had Bird Busters come out and do a bird control and removal assessment. Two guys in a marked van did a walk around of the home and determined that 28 attic vents needed covers, and they saw 4 nests. That's without going in the attic, which made me nervous, but the estimate made me nearly pass out - almost $750 all told, mostly because of the number of vents (which I admit is quite a lot). "Cindy" contacted me to discuss the estimate, and I advised her it's a bit too steep to eat at that time. She offered a flexible payment arrangement that was more within my budget. I really appreciated this, as I did need the work done and I wanted to do it as quickly as possible before the problem got even worse. Unfortunately, the guys would not be available again for another week. I told her I would check with my work to see if I could take time off. Unfortunately I got busy (imagine that) and didn't get around to it until Thursday; they couldn't do that week but could do 5/20. Agreed to that. The same guys came, 10 minutes after they were scheduled to arrive, and went straight to work. I'm going to estimate they were at my house all of an hour tops. One guy went into the attic and cleaned for 30 minutes. No live birds, a few dead ones, and apparently, 7 nests instead of 4 (!!). The other guy was like a spider, all over the roof, efficient and fast, even on a two-story home with an odd-shaped roof where another contractor freaked out over the pitch. Both guys were polite and respectful, and they honored the original quote even though there were apparently more nests than they thought. The attic guy even pointed out a gap in the dormer that allowed free access to the attic; the vent guy put a screen over it. These folks were a pleasure to work with. Unfortunately, after they left I had Independent Pest Control and US Animal Control both in the attic to assess cleanup and pest infestation. Independent identified that there was very little evidence of cleanup from Bird Busters; there was compromised insulation left in places Bird Buster claimed to have cleaned. They also identified there was an opening in the roof that hadn't been closed with mesh. US Animal Control confirmed these findings and indicated that enough nesting was left over that they were skeptical of what had actually been done. For the money that was quoted, I didn't expect this outcome. Fundamentally, all they did was put up screens to block additional future birds and remove dead birds and some of the nesting - the screens being $10/per and me only needing 29 of them, is significantly less than the over $600 that was quoted. Any cleanout company could have done the same in one shot (three different cleanout companies have indicated this) and it's possible that their service level would have been superior with live birds; that I'm not sure of. read more

This is an update to an earlier review. We had nearly given up on Bird Busters after having waited half a year for them to begin any work. We had to call every week or so to see when we would be serviced, but they finally came through. The birds and their attendant mess is gone. It's too early to give a long-term review, but they appear to have done their work well. No more pigeons in our vents! The team who worked on our building seemed to know their job. The quality of the work seems good, and the results were immediately noticeable. They earned this positive follow-up. read more

I had the pleasure of meeting two awesome guys today that came to remove some unwanted birds from inside my dryer vent. They called to let me know where they were and when they got here, they were very professional, they got rid of my pests inside then went to work on the outside to remove a nest and set some mesh so this doesn't happen again. There were birds nesting there in summer and another pest control company I had a contract with eventually figured they didn't have a ladder tall enough. Bird Busters had me scheduled within a day of me calling them and the technician, Max, that came out early in the morning was courteous and efficient. The quote provided matched exactly what the previous company promised (but couldn't do the work) so I signed off on it immediately. Had Bird Busters out in September of 2017 to take care of a nest and put wire meshing over the hole under the eave of my roof. I was at work while the guy came out but was assured all work was completed. I paid over the phone and went my way. Fast forward to July of 2019....I had a huge Wasp nest under the same eave that bird nest was at and had to call bee guy to come for help. He removed the wasp nest but also had to remove the wire meshing (which BTW was way to large for hole) to ensure wasps werent in there as well. There were no bees but what he did pull out was was a huge birds nest and 4 eggs. The bird buster tech never removed anything and literally locked out the mother bird from her babies!! I was Livid!! Its taken me this long to remember it was BIRD BUSTERS (I found my receipt) and I did call them yesterday...they were looking into it (no call back) but i will never do business with this company again. Very dishonest, lack of integrity and professionalism and clear disregard for the life of the mama bird and her unhatched eggs. Despicable.... These people were so professional and nice! After "our woodpecker" returned for a second year to continue drilling holes in the siding of our house, I called Bird Busters. Someone came out to my house shortly, we discussed options and a few days later, I was emailed a quote. Because woodpeckers are a protected species, they also gave me the contact info for the govt agency that will trap/remove/kill a woodpecker that's not responding to other deterrents. When I called to purchase their deterrent spray and it was out of stock, they got back to me right away to let me know when I might be able to get it. A few days later, they called and asked to field test a new product at our house free of charge! The wind socks they installed seem to be doing the trick as I recently saw 2 woodpeckers in the tree behind our house but they didn't peck on the side of the house they normally drill. I would highly recommend these folks if you have a woodpecker problem--if you get the govt to come out it costs $1200!! These people are down to earth and honest and they try to keep things affordable for you. Whenever I've had service people out to the house before, I always have felt like they were trying to scam me or get as much of my money as possible, but the people at bird busters help to educate you and make a good decision regarding the products/services you need. read more

I am not impressed with Bird Busters. We had them come out to fix a bird problem from a hole in our house and clean the area. We paid $275 to have mesh put over one hole and the area "cleaned". 1 month later the birds are back. I feel we paid a lot of money to have one teeny spot of our house bird proofed and they did nothing to inform us on how to prevent birds from returning. Very expensive for a temporary fix. read more

After two years of not being able to use our condo rooftop patio due to seagulls nesting we hired Bird Busters. If you have a seagull problem do not hire this company. At a huge expense they came out and placed wires to prevent the gulls from roasting. The gulls came back. Their 3 year warranty was worthless plus additional charges. Call the US Dept of Agriculture Wildlife Services at 360-337-2778. Seagulls are protected birds. They know how to deal with seagulls. read more

Was waiting on a quote that never came... I mean they did come out, but never sent me the quote.

During an appraisal, the appraiser noticed evidence of birds around the outside attic venting. The underwriters required me to hire a professional to check things out to make sure there was no bird infestation or further damage. I called Cascade Pest Control first, but they referred me to Bird Busters saying they were the right people for the job. Garrett came out a couple days later, looked around, and explained the situation. Turns out, everything was perfectly fine and he wrote me a summary I could send to the loan officer. When I asked him what I owed him for the visit, he just smiled and said it was on the house. Great company to work with, and I'd definitely call them back if I have any more bird problems. read more

Dear Bird Busters, I Flip you The Bird. They had come and dealt with Woodpeckers by putting scary beach balls hanging from soffit, many of these deflate within 1-8 months, some fall off, one by our bedroom bangs on gutter when windy, at night, yea can see where I'm going with this. We had them come out to put up wire mesh and put another beach ball up, yay, awesome, but wait, not really that awesome, they leave the deflated one up that's like 2 feet away from new one. Wait, what? It cost extra to take down their old ones??.? You got to be flipping kidding me. This company is greedy, not customer friendly and overall do crap jobs. I hope this company parks underneath a million pooping pigeons. read more

Chris Cook and his team at Bird Busters are top notch! I had an urgent matter with a bird being trapped in some Halloween webbing I'd left out too long (in the rain!) near my front door. It became sticky and a Flicker got caught in it and was suffering. I couldn't help the bird myself, so I called Bird Busters. They came out within the hour and safely removed it. They even took the bird to the nearest animal hospital to make sure it was OK before releasing it. The onsite and office teams were incredibly professional and helpful throughout the entire process and I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

Recently had a nest infestation in my house. I called bird busters to come in and fix the problem. The lady I spoke with at Bird Busters was very nice and extremely pleasant walking me through the process. Bird Busters came out on site to provide an estimate. They then quoted me the estimate. There was a small challenge because the work could not be completed until such time as the birds left the nest since it would be inhumane to remove them earlier (so I had to continue dealing with the chirping/sounds longer). The birds left and Bird Busters was finally able to come out and finish the work. This is where the 2 stars comes in.... I was quoted a price based on the area of the house the nest resided. Less than 5-10 feet away from the area where I was quoted was apparently a second nest. The price apparently goes up since no one checked the area 10 feet away from the original area. I was also told that the price would also go up because there were power lines nearby, and different ladders/equipment would need to be used. The second part really bothers me because it is physically impossible to miss the eyesore that is the powerlines next to my house. I wonder why the first folks to come out didn't manage to price that into the quote. The individual I spoke with one the phone was excellent and understanding, which is why they received more than 1 star. Be wary of upcharging, or be VERY specific about what service you want them to look at...even if it is 10 feet away.... read more

I contacted Bird Busters when I moved back into my home after renting it out for five years and found a next of starlings inside the eave of my roof. The babies were louder than heck when the momma would come by to feed them and the droppings outside on the down spout and wall were gross. I called and scheduled someone to come by and do an estimate. I was at work when the worker stopped by the house. He called me and said he didn't see the starlings, but would inspect the area, clean it up and seal it off for XXX dollars. I repeated exacting what the guy told me and agreed to the cost. (Apparently the birds had just moved out and didn't need to be extracted.) When I got home I saw the hole in the eave had been sealed, but the bird crap was still everywhere. I wrote an email (or 2) and finally convinced them the worker had promised to clean up the area. They sent him back and it was cleaned up. So in the end everything was good. If you need birds removed I'd still recommend them, just be sure you get a clear bid on the work and the cost. read more

We had a bird problem in our microwave fan for quite some time. The bird buster folks were very courteous, professional, and quickly (and reasonably priced), fixed the problem, humanely removed the nest and put up a nice screen so we won't have the problem anymore. They were very knowledgable about bird nesting cycles etc. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to get birds out of vents/fans! Had them screen open-eave vents (private residence). Two complaints: 1) Was unclear what method they'd use to screen during bid process as their bid sheet specifies bird species rather than screen design/size. I assumed the screens would run the full length of each eave for strength, but found out once they were done that they used a shorter width that just spanned the vent holes, which an industrious bird (like a flicker) could pry around. If that happens obviously the vents would need to be re-screened. As the most expensive part of the job is the labor, why not do it right the first time? 2) They were quite uninterested in any remediation effort. Once they had the money they were gone. So be sure to withhold payment until you're sure you're completely satisfied. I know, stupid on my part to not do that as matter of course, but I think it's a bummer when you have to arm-wrestle with your contractor. read more
