I had Willard put in my Trane HVAC system a few years back. They had great service and quality. Now they do plumbing and electrical. I'm part of their Shield Membership, so I called them for a plumbing leak that I found this afternoon. Here's the good: they were able to come out quickly, same day to fix the leak. I used to fix these leaks when they'd occur under my 60+ year old pier and beam house, but I'm tired of crawling around under the house, so I asked Willard out for this repair and a quote to replace all the old copper pipes under the house. I described in detail the leak and its location (the leak was within a foot of the crawlspace scuttle-hole for easy access). I explained that the leak was under the ground, possibly 6"-12" deep. The technician, Brian Cisco, arrived, saw a Shark-bite fitting at the ground level and immediately assumed it was the culprit. I told him the leak was likely underground because of the way the water was pooling and the lack of seeing any water emanating from the fitting. Anyway, he said he'd fix the leak and quoted me $617. I was a little taken aback at the price, but everything costs more these days and I'm tired of crawling under the house. Fast-forward four hours and two attempted sweat fittings that both leaked after install and he installed press fittings. NBD. Whatever works. But, when he "fixed" what he thought was the leak he discovered the real leak about 8" under the fitting he just fixed and said it would be closer to $2,000 to fix it now. I'm livid at this point. I asked for a repair that would require a little bit of excavation, I told him exactly where the leak was and that it would require the excavation. The fact that he couldn't sweat a joint should have told me everything I needed to know. So, bottom line: I paid Willard $617 to dig a hole to find a leak that I will now have to repair myself. The ridiculous thing is that this took over 4 hours to get to this point. This was an EASY repair. I'm NOT happy. What's frustrating is that his $617 quote included a 24" deep excavation to repair the leak. So, my question to Willard is: if he thought the only leak was a fitting at ground-level, why include a 24" deep excavation on my invoice? (BTW, the actual excavation was less than 10" deep and he left the leak without fixing it unless I ponied up $2000!) Take a look at the photo below. To give you an idea of how easy this repair is I took this photo from the closet in my bedroom - easy access. Update: Willard sent out a new technician, Charles Gandy, to solve the problem this morning...hopefully it gets resolved, but this has not been an enjoyable experience. Charles Gandy was able to fix the leak and actually went above and beyond by adding a shut-off valve just in case another leak occurred down the line. The employees are incredibly rude and condescending. They are working on an apartment next door and have been parking in our private spots and blocking the alley every day for a week. We ask them daily not to park in our spaces or block our cars, and we only get rude responses. When we ask them to move so we can park or leave, they are not responsive or helpful. They have also shut off the water to our building five times, even after the city put up signs telling them not to touch it. The City of Dallas confirmed they do not have a permit to turn off the water at the property they are working on, and they have still done it two more times. One employee even admitted he did it by accident, so they clearly do not know what they are doing. When we said we would call a towing company if they kept parking here, the supervisor laughed, said good luck, and started yelling and mocking us. The 311 operator heard everything and dispatched someone, which finally made them leave for the day, at 6 pm. Do not give them your business. I chose Willard Air Conditioning, Plumbing & Electrical to repair a water leak on my main water line after receiving quotes from several plumbing companies, and I am very disappointed. The repair team was scheduled to arrive on Saturday between 8:00 and 10:00 AM, but they never showed up. I called five times and was repeatedly told that dispatch would contact me with an estimated arrival time. Unfortunately, I never received a call back or any update. For an urgent plumbing issue like a main water line leak, this level of poor communication and unreliability is unacceptable. Very frustrating experience. The technicans were nice, however they claimed they had unstopped the drain and that it was on the city side but they had unstopped it and we paid just over $500.00. The next day the plumbing backed up again and we called Willard and they wanted to charge us yet again for a job they claimed they completed. We called the city and when they arrived they informed us that the clog was not unstopped. We then called Willard with the findings and they informed us they would call us back and to date they have not called us. We're confused to what has happened to their customer service . I'm glad that we were able to cancel the $28,000+ charges for a supposedly broken pvc pipe that was underneath our home. I needed to get my a/c unit checked out for regular maintenance and saw a promo on the website for $49. Here's what the tech came and did. Walked around my house and proceeded to tell me everything that's wrong with my system. Didn't lift a finger. He then tells me that to fix everything, it would cost over nearly $7k. Mind you, there's nothing wrong with my system EXCEPT that our bedroom doesnt feel like it gets much air flow. This is a design issue, not an a/c one. This tech came over, told me what was wrong with my a/c unit, and then charged me $49 for it. It's not a tune up, it's a diagnosis fee. And the solution is bs. I called a second opinion. They came over, cleaned my compressor outside and then went to check everything out. Nothing is wrong with my system. The air flow? They halfway closed a manual duct/vent, (I forget what he said) opened more the one in my bedroom and now the air flow seems to be much better. Asked if he saw anything that was OBVIOUSLY wrong with the system, and he said no. Anything incorrect is a design issue that was here before you moved in. The installer had to work around it. There's a couple of things he would have done different but all in all, no issues. Willard is a scam. I feel like I got robbed $50 for some tech to come and tell me how much my house sucked. I have used this company for installation of a new AC/Heating system and attic insulation. I didn't have any problems. I wanted a new faucet installed I'm my mother's bathroom. I had purchased the faucet. All they had to do was install it.The first plumber they sent out couldn't figure out how to work his tablet and didn't do anything at all. The second plumber they sent a month later couldn't figure out where my water cut off was He cut off my neighbors water. I had to show home where the water cut off was. He flooded my mother's bathroom twice. This was 9/24. I thought he had done things correctly.No. He didn't seal the faucet properly and I had a slow leak. I realized this after my mother's cabinet wouldn't close because it's warped from water damage. They charged $ 824.00 and damaged my bathroom. They told me both of the plumbers are no longer with the company. They haven't offered any reimbursement. They offered to extend my service contract at no charge. Our AC unit began leaking water from the attic, and we called Willard for a service check. The technician immediately identified an issue with the coil, stating it was the cause of the excessive water. He then presented two options: a 'band-aid' fix for $15,000 or a 'permanent solution' for $25,000. I was shocked! Seeking a second opinion, I contacted another company. I JUST want to warn everyone -- run for your life if you let this company do an install! It's nothing but a money sinkhole from start to finish. The installation was terrible -- they placed the upstairs and downstairs units mere inches from each other, which makes no sense at all. I honestly don't know how it ever passed inspection because we've had problems from the very beginning. Believe the one-star reviews -- this company is as awful as they come. Attention Consumer! We had a bad leak we called Willard. They sent a new guy out and said we needed all new plumbing for $30,000. We knew we had to fix. The guy said two days with no hot water. The guy said it was done on the second day. A day later we had issues with the dish washer connection. The guy put the cut off valve in back of it instead of putting it under the sink and then he put the connection for cold water instead of hot. We had to wait for Willard to come fix it. He messed up the half restroom wall by taking off the cross 2x4 that holds the sink. They had to get there contractor to come and put a piece of wood on the wall because the guy messed up the inside wood to hold sink. Then we had to wait for Willard to come back to put back sink. Two days turned into a month or could say New Year 2026 it was finished. Asked for reimbursement because it was a half ass job. Was told 6 month extended warranty. Why would I want that if I want nothing to do with the business. Willard employee had to knock down sheet rock that we would have to contract someone to put in and paint. Very dissatisfied. We don't want extended service we want reimbursement. We want no service with you. Sorry is not going to fix the wait, inconvenience and cancelations of doctor appointments. read more

We have the Annual Maintenance program where they come out 2 times each year to clean and service our HVAC. AC in the spring and HV in the fall. This also provides free estimates for other visits. I am very pleased with the technicians that they sent for our recent requests. Nicholas and Jonathan came out to clean and service our AC unit last week, and Dylan came out to clean our ductwork and our AC blower and condenser coils. Our unit is cooling better already. (Continuation from post of Olga V.) On August 29, 2024 someone nocked at the door. My mother opened it. It was the same Technician Jose Lopez who came to the house on previous occasion on August 19th. He was inquiring whether everything is all right. My mother called to her acquaintance who translated for her previously. The woman told to mother that Tech says that AC units at the house needs to be replaced as soon as possible because they are very old and can explode at any time. My mother asked how much money those two units would costs. The Tech said 33.000$. My mother said NO, But Lopes insisted to inspect the break panel and went on his own initiative into garage where the panel was located. Than hi returned inside giving my mother again to sign peace of paper with written text in English. My mother signed it . She did not know what was written on that paper since she does not speak and does not know English. As a result of that visit her debit card was charged in the amount of 5000$ without her ever knowing it , and my debit card was charged in the amount of 1,141$ without my approval or authorization . In addition, my mother's debit card was charged by Willard's 13 times more, starting from 9/11/2024 in the amount of 14.95$ each months with total amount of $194.35 total. And my debit card was charged on August 18, 2024 in the amount of 129.38$. Neither my mother nor I do not know What those charges are for. UPDATE: The GM called me the day after my system was restored and was very apologetic and understanding. They outlined changes in their processes to improve customer experiences and offered me a full refund. ORIGINAL REVIEW: My experience with Willard was unacceptable. Willard took every opportunity to make sure I felt unimportant and disrespected. I and my children spent over a week without AC in the Texas summer due to Willard's negligence and apathy. Willard diagnosed my home's AC problem. I was quoted $874 labor to install a warranty repair part. They gave me no estimate of when it would arrive. They did not email me copies of the authorization documents I signed. I hounded them for days to get the repair scheduled, and then their tech did not arrive on schedule. I was lied to multiple times about the tech's arrival time. When the tech did arrive, he said that they'd sent the wrong part, and they'd have to reorder. Willard did not apologize. As the weather got hotter, my family spent a week without AC and had to sleep elsewhere. When the tech finally arrived again, after significant negotiation with a defensive and condescending customer service rep, I paid $698 for 45 minutes of labor. I didn't have to pay for the warranty part, but the $1,300 price they showed me was significantly more than the $25.81 price for the part on Amazon. Also, I was never sent a receipt. Willard appears to be run by a patchwork of contractors, feckless middlemen, and buggy software. Their pricing has outrageous markups, and their customer service is indifferent. I called Willard out to put on kitchen faucet which I provided. I also wanted them to look at the handle in the bathroom. They started out at $5000.00. I asked them to take off the bathroom and it is now $1800.00 to put in the faucet and the hot and cold water handles which he said were rusted. They were supposed to come Wednesday but called at 3:00 pm and told me jobs were running over time so they could not get to me. They came at 8.30 am Friday morning. After giving me estimate he told me they would have to schedule it and they would be here some time next week. He wanted half down which was $900.00 and I paid it. After he left I decided the whole thing did not sound right. So I called immediately and canceled the appointment. She said someone would have to call me back but they did not. I called again late that afternoon and finally spoke with customer service. She told me they were so far behind on complaints she was just now getting to me. She said they would come first thing Monday morning and send a different person to work. I told her I would pay for service call but she never told me the price. LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS! I regret dismissing them. We had an AWFUL experience with Willard Cooling & Heating. When our AC stopped working and our home was beginning to heat up to dangerous levels, we felt desperate for help, and unfortunately this company made us feel taken advantage of during that vulnerable moment. A technician came out that evening but couldn't complete the full inspection because the evaporator coil inside had frozen over (we were only told to check the outside unit, so we had no idea!). The next day, a completely different technician came who didn't seem to have any information from the previous visit, so we had to go through the entire process again. The technician was nice; however, we felt that the company has trained their techs to overcharge customers. After completing diagnostics, they told us we needed to spend over $5,000 in repairs (or just under 5k if we joined their membership) and that there were no other options. Feeling pressured and stressed due to our current situation, we agreed despite our current financial hardship, and they required full payment upfront before the repairs or parts had even arrived! Within an hour of the technician leaving, we learned from several neighbors that they'd been quoted less than half of what Willard charged us for similar and EXACT repairs. We immediately called to cancel the repairs, parts orders and membership and request a refund. Despite multiple calls, text, and emails, no one from customer service has returned our messages as we were told they would be by a woman named Shelly at the office. I've requested an itemized receipt and details of the inspection and suggested repairs, but they keep sending only the membership receipt and not providing the information I have requested. This feels VERY deceptive. At this point, it's clear this company overcharges, is inconsistent, and provides poor communication and transparency. We are still waiting on a refund and a proper response. I would STRONGLY advise others to research more honest and reliable HVAC companies before calling Willard - in our experience, they were neither reliable nor trustworthy and seem to feel no shame about taking advantage of their customers in vulnerable moments. read more

Think Twice Before Using Willard Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing I had a very disappointing experience with Willard's $14.95/month maintenance plan. After paying for two years, I finally scheduled a visit, and things went downhill fast. First visit: A technician came out, inspected my system, and immediately recommended replacing it. Oddly enough, after he left, my Nest thermostat stopped working. Second visit: I called them back, and after the second technician left, my HVAC system wasn't working at all. Later, I found out that the technician had broken my HVAC breaker. I was then quoted $800 to fix it. When I questioned this, I was met with resistance and even had it suggested that I could have broken it myself--which makes no sense, since my system was working fine before they came. Third visit: Another technician came and called his boss, who refused to fix the breaker for free, hinting that a recent storm might have caused the issue--even though I never lost power. Eventually, the technician rigged the system by switching breakers to make it temporarily work. He even implied that he would help me fix it properly if I didn't write a review, which I found concerning. In the end, I had to pay $800+ to get the issue properly repaired. I even had Nest data proving my system worked fine until the exact day they came, yet they still refused to take responsibility. In my opinion, this maintenance plan is just a way to get into your home and push expensive repairs. If you choose to use them, I highly recommend being present for every step and double-checking their work. I wish I had gone with a different company. read more

I believe that my mother and I were defrauded by the WILLARD COOLING HEATING PLUMBING & ELECTRICAL, 207 E US Hwy 80, Forney, TX On June 25, 2024 my mother noticed that her upstairs AC unit does not work properly. She asked her acquaintance Ms. Olga who speaks some English to find someone who can come to the house and address the problem. Her acquaintance called to Willard's and arranged the home visit .On the same date, the technician Rylee Littrel showed up at the address where my mother resides. Upon arrival my mother showed to him where the AC unit was located. She " explained" to him the best possible way she could , literally using her hands and fingers , that AC unit on the second level of the house does not work properly. Technician Littrell went upstairs then outside to check on an outdoor AC unit. Then he said to my mother something in English. My mother told him " no understand" and called to the acquittance of hers asking to find out what Technician is saying. The woman spoke to Littrell and than to my mother explaining to her that Littrell said that he need to do some kind of diagnostic test in order to figure out why upstairs AC unit does not work properly . Also, Littrell told to acquaintance that he need to have my mother information and payment method on file before he would proceed with any diagnostic or repairs work . Since my mother does not see well small printed text or letters , especially in English she handed to Littrell three debit cards in order he would choose the one with my mothers name on it. My mother was trying "to tell" to Littrell that she does not see well and pointed to her eyes and eyeglasses which were broken. She also was trying " to explain " with her hands to him that she does not see the small letters printed on the cards and does not know which card belongs to her. Technician took all three cards wrote down the information from the cards and returned the cards to my mother. Then he went to backyard. What exactly he was doing there my mother does not know . Technician Littrell spent outside for about 10 minutes. Than he returned inside and handed to my mother peace of paper where he wrote the numbers 642.00. My mother called to her acquaintance again asking to translate for her. The woman spoke to Technician Littrell first and than translated to my mother that Technician wants 642$ for some sort of diagnostic work. My mother said to the acquaintance on the phone that she would translate to Littrell that she can not afford that kind of money . Technician said "it is ok" and gave to my mother some peace of paper with written English text on it. He pointed on the paper next to the sign X asking mother to sign in the space marked by sign X. My mother signed paper. But what was written on the paper she did not know either. On the same date, June 25 of 2024 my mother went to neighbor and brought him home . The same way as she used with Technician Littrell, her hands and fingers , she explained to her neighbor that she have some kind of problems with AC because unit still was not working properly .The neighbor went upstairs where the inside unit was located . Then he went to the garage where the breaker panel was and switched on the breaker . The AC Unit has started to work just fine. On 8/19/2024 there was another issue at the house . The light suddenly went off. My mother called to he acquaintance again asking her to help. The woman again made arrangements with the Willard's to come to house and inspect the problem . This time came technician Jose Lopes. But, before Lopes came in the lights came back to life. My mother called to the acquaintance and asked her to cancel the appointment . However, Lopes still appeared at the house . When he knocked at the door my mother opened it and showed to Lopes with her hands pointed to ceiling that the lights are on and working. Nevertheless , Lopes entered inside . He spent at house approximately 15-20 minutes . But before to leave he handed to my mother peace of paper asking her to sign in the space marked with letter X. My mother signed. What was written on the paper my mother did not know. Later it turned out that my mother signed an agreement allowing Willard's to charge my debit card. Consequently, the Willard's charged my debit card twice, one time is for the amount of $642 and $767.70 consequently without me ever knowing. On August 19 there was another issue at the house . The light suddenly went off. My mother called to he acquaintance again asking her to help. The woman again made arrangements with the Willard's to come to house and inspect the problem . I wish I could leave less than one star. We had a monthly contract with them to maintain the unit they sold to us. We had a condensation issue. They came out, but said they had to send a plumber. A plumber came out the next day. She did not have a clue how to fix it. She called someone else to come out. He came out and gave us a price. Four days later they come to do the work. The plumber told my husband that what the other plumber had contracted us, would not work. It would be about $500.00 more and have to be more invasive to the house. He started working and half way through, it is going to cost $400+ more. Almost $3000 later, I am left with a huge hole cut in my bedroom wall. Customers BEWARE!!! Willard will NOT diagnose and rectify the issue, they will UP CHARGE you and tell you that the only solution is a whole new unit, inside and out!! My unit just made the 10 year mark and the technician wasn't sympathetic or helpful. He took like 5 minutes to look at my furnace in the attack and 15 minutes on my outside unit to tell me that it's bad. Of course it's bad, that's why I called!! SMH!! He gave me a load of bull about parts being obsolete and that the refrigerants are no longer acceptable by the government. No idea why that makes a difference, but he right away pulled out his tablet and started selling me on a $12k-$15k unit replacement!! And to make matters worse, he scratched off the S/N of the capacitor so I couldn't look it up on eBay to purchase!! Seriously some devious play here!! Luckily I got a second opinion and the local technician knew exactly what needed to be ordered, he knew the ins and outs and seemed very knowledgeable. Thank God I didn't agree to financing a whole new unit because JP and his "3 years of experience" really wanted me to purchase a whole new unit. Very long time customer. Have them out every 6 months for maintenance. I change filters every month. They replaced my entire HVAC system 8 years ago. Although generally satisfied, always hate how they try to upsell every time they are out. Now even receive text messages trying to continuously sell. Well, system wasn't cooling this week. They are responsive. Unfortunately I was not able to be at the house due to work. Feel as if I was taken advantage of. Tech inspects system. Calls me to tell me needs new compressor, etc... $5500 repair. Says it might fix it. Very hard to understand this tech with his heavy accent. Out the next day to do the work. Very late on arrival. After receiving an absurd estimate we reached out to a competent plumber through a reputable company and he not only confidently solved the problem that David claimed was unsolvable in its current state, but he easily contradicted pretty much every piece of information David gave us. Absolutely horrible company. We called them out to diagnose our AC unit that we were having issues with. I was so grateful they could come out so quickly. The guy was very nice and seemed knowledgeable and trustworthy at first. Then he gave me a quote that was astronomical, and a quick Google search revealed that the cost of replacing this part + labor was typically half of what he quoted me. When I told him I needed to do some due diligence and call my husband to figure out what we should do, he yelled at me for a good 5 minutes - called me "corrupt" and "a criminal" ... absolutely insane. I'm 7 months pregnant and don't just have thousands of dollars sitting around to repair our AC. Blew my mind how disrespectful he was. Honestly made me feel so unsafe. read more

I will never recommend this company for HVAC services. Our AC wasn't cooling below 76°. Willard charged $50 to come out and tell us the system was not repairable and everything needed to be replaced... quoted $13,000-$50,000 worth of work on a 3 ton system for a 1500 sqft home. The second company that came out literally only reconnected a disconnected wire on the fan motor and surprise surprise, the system is cooling better than it ever has. It was such an obvious and simple repair that they didn't even charge us to fix it. It's highly concerning that Willard made no mention of the exposed/disconnected high voltage wire that was making contact with the metal on the unit, and instead decided to provide deceptive replacement quotes. Save yourself some time and money and call someone else for HVAC issues. read more

Our system is 11 years old but in excellent shape yet Willard sent a tech out to say it needs to be replaced! called plumber for what i though was just to replace wax rin on oct4 2025. he replaced wax ring & pull up new flange installed. blew out 2 wax ring on 2 onsecutive flushes. then said oh the line is plugged. snaked out line for hours. claimed the roof vent was plugged d he said it was repaired. charges for this disabled one legged homeowner was $822.93. Willards plumbing repair lasted less than 24 days. warranty work was granted when the same inept plumber came back today wanted to charge in excess of the last bill says zero warranty on work performed. i was scammed but you can find someone else to scam you other than this company. good luck if you use them. PS both toilets on1700 sq foot home are on the same sewer line. im getting someone else not paying them another $900 for nothing. read more

Five years ago I bought a higher end Trane and had it installed in my attic for a fair price and wonderful installation. That is when Bill Oates and Randy were still there. Meanwhile the company has grown enormously and changed for the worse IMO. I got to the point that I dreaded service calls as I was always advised to upgrade a perfectly fine unit downstairs. The sales pressure from the technicians has been so intense, that I just can't do it anymore. At least three technicians have come out a given me the extremely hard sell, telling me my downstairs out HAD to be replaced, and it was failing. Cited slow continuous red blinking light as proof of failure soon. Consulted outside company who said this is normal and they couldn't find a thing wrong with the unit, and that the steady blinking red light meant that the unit was running properly. I had endured pressure to replace parts I know had recently already been replaced. I am glad to say I am no longer on their service plan and it is a relief. read more

The worst company I have ever dealt with. Their only concern is how much they can upgrade a service call. Their prices are over the top, and treat single women as if they are stupid. They have been out to do yearly service twice, once for heating and once for air conditioning. Both times trying to sell services I did not ask for or want to improve their bottom dollar. read more

Disappointed. Paid extra for their 10 year extended warranty for install of new HVAC system, and they aren't going to honor it. I do still have the manufacturer's 5 year warranty. But I paid extra for nothing. Can't recommend. read more

14 hours into an install and ac still not working. They couldn't reach a manager so left at 11:30 pm. Still no AC upstairs. Fan on a brand new unit wasn't working. Horrible customer experience. No plan to resolve. Apparently none of their managers answer their phones. None of them. Or maybe there is only one. Or that's the line they are told to give customers. apparently they bought out MES and now every time they come they add $5000 $6000 extra work that needs to be done. 10 days ago came out for a repair and changed out something in the attic unit but that blew out the thermostat ( I could smell it). The tech said the thermostat was under warranty and they would be back Sun/Mon to replace it. Now 10 days later no thermostat (it is still on order) and I can't get anyone to return my calls. You would think they would call other companies to find a thermostat or at least ship it overnight but no 10 days and still waiting. would not recommend this company you can do better. read more

I used to use MES HVAC in Kennedale TX but apparently about a year or two ago it was acquired by Willard. I had some routine service and they got me to sign a service contract. Twice a year they come out and find problems with the heat or AC and recommend ~$5000 worth of work, which I decline. The work is potentially useful (cleaning ducts and blower) but I am sure that it can be done for cheaper plus they always throw in that they will use UV sterilization!!!! I'm not saying it wont work but this is about as necessary as getting the rust proofing at a new car dealership (overpriced and essentially useless but fancy sounding) My last straw was when I had to call for service this past cold snap (Feb 2025). Normally I clean the air filter regularly but apparently I forgot since last fall and all that needed to be done was to clean it. The service guy was cool but when I asked how much for him to clean (literally use a shopvac to remove dust and lint- 10 min job) he quoted me $360! I told him I'd do it myself. I think Willard is just like Service Experts... a conglomerate that buys up mom and pop outfits and then jacks up prices and pushes service contracts (that essentially allow them to come in and sell you more services at jacked up prices) I'll be looking for another mom and pop HVAC service from now on. we had a Willard technician come to our house today because there was a leak from our toilet. The technician was pleasant enough, but he charged $400 to replace a wax seal. That is ridiculously excessive and unscrupulous. We learned our lesson. We will never do business with them again, and we will never recommend them to anyone. read more
