Called 5 Star HVAC for my A/C unit that stopped cooling. Gave them a description of the issue and they knew right away what it was. Tech was sent out the same morning of my call on a Friday. Very prompt, knowledgeable, and friendly service. Thanks so much for your help in getting my A/C fixed during the long hot Texas Summer! Thanks so much! read more

Answered the phone promptly, put me on the schedule, and were out to my house within a couple of hours. Did a great job, nice guy, easy transaction. read more

Pedro was able to get us earlier than scheduled which was great. He was able to check out a few things and was able to patch up the insulation with what the home inspector found. While he was at our place, I asked him a question about the airflow on the other side of the house and he was able to check it out for us and mentioned that one of the airvent boot was smaller than expected and that's why it wasn't blowing out much air in the room. Overall, pretty happy with the service. There was no fee to get a technician out to get an estimate and to assess problems like other places I've contacted. Pedro was nice, friendly, and was able to address concerns. read more

We were delighted with this company. Our AC stopped coming on last evening and was giving us an unrecognizable error code. We put in a request through Yelp and 5 Star HVAC was the first to respond. The very professional and pleasant technician, Rick, was at our door less than an hour later. The problem was solved within 90 minutes of the initial request - and at a very reasonable price. What a great experience! We now consider 5 Star to be our chosen HVAC company. read more

We called 5 star based off of that yelp recommendation. They are very professional... They assigned someone to us the following morning... He showed up on time and was very polite. Went right to work identify the issue... Corrected it... Explained it to us. Nobody likes to pay for air conditioner repair... But it's a must in Texas. Not cheap - but these guys had our air conditioner fixed and going again very quickly. They know what they're doing. Recommend. read more

The guys who showed up were friendly and professional, they explained what they were doing, we had both units replaced and they did it faster than I thought they would. Over all a great experience. read more

It was easy to schedule an appointment and know what to expect in terms of service. They send a text to confirm the service window and when the technician is 30 minutes away. When Rick arrived, he knew immediately what the issue was with our AC unit - replaced the capacitor and we were up and running in 30 minutes! We were also super glad to have been squeezed in late Friday afternoon in August. Highly recommend 5 Star HVAC Contractors! read more

Our ac went out and we found 5 Star HVAC online. I gave them a call and they sent me a text letting me know Sebadtian was on his way. He came and accessed the issue, gave me a diagnosis and price and had us up and running cold air in 30 minutes! They are now my go to for any ac issues! Highly recommend! read more

Just needed the technician to look at the system and determine if it was leaking oil/coolant. Five minutes into the service call the system stopped cooling. He claimed a part was broken and needed to be replaced and he had one available locally.....$7k. Hottest week of the year, sudden catastrophic failure of a previously working system. If it looks like a duck......consider how quickly and how much time they spend rebuffing low ratings...speaks volumes! read more

I sent out a quote request on Yelp that went to 5 HVAC companies; I thought I knew the issue and wanted to know the repair cost if my diagnosis was correct...a way to get an apples to apples evaluation of each. I had 4 other generic responses who just wanted to get me scheduled and wouldn't tell me a price. 5 Star are the only ones who actually answered the question I asked. I thought the price they quoted for the job sounded very reasonable, though in the end I was feeling ambitious and found myself with a lot of free time, so I decided to do it myself. But, I appreciated their promptness and communication and will for sure check with them on harder stuff when it comes up. read more

I truly cannot say enough good things about this company. I first used them at the start of the summer when the capacitor went out on my A/C. They responded right away, and the technician (Pedro) explained the issue clearly, answered all my questions, and made an additional recommendation to prolong the life of my compressor (but didn't try to give me a hard sell when I decided only to do the necessary work). He had everything fixed in a flash and the price was more than fair. I sold that house a few months later and had Pedro come inspect the A/C unit at my new house, which is an older home. He said the unit checked out great but recommended I consider changing the compressor to save a lot on my electric bill in the winter. He explained the pros and cons, answered all my questions, and again didn't push when I decided to wait. But I did end up using their crew to replace all the HVAC ductwork, which was literally falling apart. They did a stellar job, took measures to keep the house clean, and went over and above to clean up after the work was done. Overall, their communication is top notch, pricing is very fair, and everyone I've met has been professional and polite. I have already recommended 5Star HVAC to several friends and am relieved to find a company I can really trust. read more

I've been a 5 Star HVAC customer for a couple years and has been satisfied with their service and prompt response. My current gas bill was unreasonably high despite my being out of the country for 1 month. Called Atmos, customer service sent a rep to check for gas leaks and recommended to check get my heating unit and thermostat check. 5 HVAC came within reasonable time to check the system. The technician ( Victor) was respectful but I was disappointed when I noted that the system was not working after it was supposed to work efficiently. When the evening temp dropped, I felt the temp inside the house was very cold and noted that the system was not kicking in hot air and the thermostat was reading 61 with thermostat setting at 70 degree. How could his have happened when the system was just checked few hours ago?. I was very disappointed especially my annual membership was just renewed for another year. I slept freezing, under several layers of covers at 60 degrees temperature. I called 5 STAR HVAC first thing this am. I was pleased with their quick respons. Pedro and Victor came to assess the heating problem. Pedro explained, answered questions until the heating problem was resolved. I commend the promptness, expertise and wholesone attitudes of these 2 technicians in resolving my heating problems. Despite my initial disappointment with the company, I would give them 4 star and recommend others for their quick response, expertise and pleasant attitudes towards customer. I hope this problem won't happen again in the future. Thank you 5 Stat HVAC. read more

Absolutely restored my faith in humanity - Rick came out to check why my AC unit wasn't working. Amazing human being and literally saved me thousands of dollars that other scammy hvac companies were trying to say I needed all these new parts. I have a home warranty and I'm canceling it after the dishonest encounter I had prior to Rick coming and quickly diagnosing the problem. I just needed a new thermostat! I bought one he recommended and installed it today and we have cool air once again. He's a gem, truly honest and knows his stuff. They will be my go to in the future. read more

I contacted this company after my second-floor AC unit stopped blowing cold air, and I was impressed that they were one of the few companies available to take calls late on a Sunday. I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day, and the technician who arrived was very professional. He thoroughly diagnosed my AC unit, explaining that the coils, motor, and compactor needed replacement, and recommended a full AC unit replacement for a long-term solution. As someone who has been an investor in multiple properties for 14 years, I've had my fair share of business transactions. Initially, I was quoted $5,600 for the work, which later dropped to $5,300. After I mentioned to the technician, Pedro, that I wanted to get a second opinion, he quickly followed up and offered a price reduction to $4,900, but included a previous year's model coil. Over the next two days, the company reached out with additional follow-up calls and further reduced the price to $4,600 to get something scheduled. While the technician was polite, I was disappointed in the pricing approach. It felt like negotiating with a car dealership, which I didn't expect in an HVAC service. Ultimately, I chose to go with another company, which completed the job for nearly $1,800 less. read more

These guys did a great job, called in for a second opinion. The original solution from the local name brand businesses quoted almost $1000 dollars and didn't get a good sense the technician was competent, called 5 star and they came on time no long sales pitch investigated problem and repaired unit for a tenth of the price. We requested service on our a/c that completely stopped working for two days. 5 Star HVAC Contractors sent service technician, Rick to our home that same morning! He immediately diagnosed the problem and gave me a quote to replace the Contactor High Voltage. He explained in detail the problem and also recommended a Hard Start Kit since our a/c was starting up louder than normal causing higher electricity usage. I agreed with his recommendations and did not feel pressured at all. He also went up my attic to recommend how often our air filter should be changed. I really appreciated Rick sharing his expertise and answered all the questions that I had. We will definitely call 5 Star in the future! read more

Prompt and fair. We even signed up for the membership program after they came to service our A/C. in a world of everyone price gauging, this company does not. I just felt like they were vert trustworthy from the moment our technician stepped into our house. Contact this company for all of your HVAC needs! read more

Showed up within minutes of me calling in, got my system up and running same day! Great service.

Prompt response and efficient repair, but the explanation could be clearer. My heater went out on a chilly evening, and I called HVAC Contractors, hoping they could come out soon. Thankfully, they were able to send a technician the same day. The technician arrived on time and was very polite and professional. He quickly diagnosed the issue and explained it to me, though I confess I didn't fully understand all the technical jargon. Despite my lack of understanding, I felt confident that the technician knew what he was doing. He fixed the problem quickly, and my heater was back up and running before bedtime. In addition to the repair, I also signed up for their annual maintenance program. It seems like a good deal, as it includes three service visits for the price of two. Hopefully, this will help prevent future breakdowns and save me money in the long run. Overall, I'm happy with the service I received from HVAC Contractors. They were prompt and efficient and got my heater working again quickly. However, I wish the explanation of the problem had been clearer for someone without technical expertise. read more

Our downstairs HVAC was not working in the midst of a hot summer and we were in desperate need of cooling off. We spoke with several companies and 5 Star HVAC was the easiest to schedule an appointment time with and work around our busy schedules. 5 Star HVAC gave us a time window when a technician would arrive and once they had a better time estimate within that time window, texted us. The technician quickly diagnosed our problem and explained the issue in thorough detail. They told us about our options, were patient and answered all of my questions to help me understand the pros and cons of each, and had great communication every step of the way. Recently, we had a follow up visit to inspect our HVAC and they helped us identify an issue with our upstairs thermostat sensor for our heating--just in time for winter. read more

Woke up Sunday morning to an AC blowing warm air. I submitted a quote request through Yelp and contacted a few other HVAC companies, and 5 Star were the only guys able to make it out same day. The technician got on my condo roof in a little bit of drizzle, identified a blown capacitor, and replaced it in around 30 minutes. I am giving 4 stars because the charge was $399, which seems a bit high. However, I don't think it's entirely unreasonable given the work was done outside of normal business hours and it saved me a headache going into a busy week. read more

Found this company on Yelp after the AC started acting up one night. They responded right away and were here first thing the next morning. They did a little cleaning and showed us why it needed a little recharging and that was it. Didn't recommend any parts we didn't need or a replacement that wasn't necessary. Just a fine tune up in the heat of the summer and had our AC blowing ice cold again. Great company, trusted technicians ,we'll definitely call these guys again for preventative maintenance next year! read more
