Pedro was able to get us earlier than scheduled which was great. He was able to check out a few things and was able to patch up the insulation with what the home inspector found. While he was at our place, I asked him a question about the airflow on the other side of the house and he was able to check it out for us and mentioned that one of the airvent boot was smaller than expected and that's why it wasn't blowing out much air in the room. Overall, pretty happy with the service. There was no fee to get a technician out to get an estimate and to assess problems like other places I've contacted. Having no Air Conditioning in OVER (100) Degree heat is no joke! They are very high priced! quoted me $18,692.04 Told me the evaporator coils could not be replaced, So I needed a whole unit. Which I found out was not true! ( I was quoted $3,905 to replace the evap Coil From another company ). But I did replace the whole unit for $8,951 For less than HALF of 5 Star price of $18,694.04 Not only that I have a 12 year warranty on Parts & Labor & LIFETIME COMPRESSOR & CRAFTMANSHIP!!! But the 5 Star company only wanted to give me a warranty of 1 year for parts & Labor. So they wanted to charge me DOUBLE & Still charged me $565.27 Because I didn't buy their UNIT for double the price & still charged me $565.27 Usually a good company that charges you To come to the house Will wave the fee if Charges are above a few hundred dollars. NOT THIS COMPANY! Also they will also make you sign a digital form saying you received a paper copy! THAT'S A LIE !!! I never got a paper copy! You can imagine how that goes you need to read all the wording on his phone while you are all heated up in a 90 degree home! The only humane thing they did was give me a portable unit. The very next day I still had nothing to read to show me EXACTLY what I was getting. That's when I called and cancelled. They came that morning to pick it the portable unit. And told me I had to digitally sign for the leak test they performed Took about 45 minutes to put nitrogen into the system to find the leak in the coil. So basically $1.00 a minute. I was charged $455.27 for that & $110.00 for them to see how they could advantage of someone sitting in a 92 degree home with the outside temp at over 100 Degrees I think it hit 106 that day in Mesquite. I sent out a quote request on Yelp that went to 5 HVAC companies; I thought I knew the issue and wanted to know the repair cost if my diagnosis was correct...a way to get an apples to apples evaluation of each. I had 4 other generic responses who just wanted to get me scheduled and wouldn't tell me a price. 5 Star are the only ones who actually answered the question I asked. I thought the price they quoted for the job sounded very reasonable, though in the end I was feeling ambitious and found myself with a lot of free time, so I decided to do it myself. I truly cannot say enough good things about this company. I first used them at the start of the summer when the capacitor went out on my A/C. They responded right away, and the technician (Pedro) explained the issue clearly, answered all my questions, and made an additional recommendation to prolong the life of my compressor (but didn't try to give me a hard sell when I decided only to do the necessary work). He had everything fixed in a flash and the price was more than fair. I sold that house a few months later and had Pedro come inspect the A/C unit at my new house, which is an older home. He said the unit checked out great but recommended I consider changing the compressor to save a lot on my electric bill in the winter. He explained the pros and cons, answered all my questions, and again didn't push when I decided to wait. But I did end up using their crew to replace all the HVAC ductwork, which was literally falling apart. They did a stellar job, took measures to keep the house clean, and went over and above to clean up after the work was done. I've been a 5 Star HVAC customer for a couple years and has been satisfied with their service and prompt response. My current gas bill was unreasonably high despite my being out of the country for 1 month. Called Atmos, customer service sent a rep to check for gas leaks and recommended to check get my heating unit and thermostat check. 5 HVAC came within reasonable time to check the system. The technician ( Victor) was respectful but I was disappointed when I noted that the system was not working after it was supposed to work efficiently. When the evening temp dropped, I felt the temp inside the house was very cold and noted that the system was not kicking in hot air and the thermostat was reading 61 with thermostat setting at 70 degree. How could his have happened when the system was just checked few hours ago?. I was very disappointed especially my annual membership was just renewed for another year. I slept freezing, under several layers of covers at 60 degrees temperature. I called 5 STAR HVAC first thing this am. I was pleased with their quick respons. Pedro and Victor came to assess the heating problem. Pedro explained, answered questions until the heating problem was resolved. I commend the promptness, expertise and wholesone attitudes of these 2 technicians in resolving my heating problems.
